Part 3

I was on the floor while the blood keep pumping out, mum and DH were confused. We used tissue, pad, wrappers etc putting pressure to stop the bleeding. DH woke our neighbours while mum pack something for baby. They called the Dr of the nearest private hospital and he was in. Luckily he is a gynecologist and was even part of my delivery team. They were waiting at our arrival. DH carried me to the car with help of another man. I was wheeled straight to theatre on arrival, bleeding was controlled and another mva done. The blood clot that came out was almost as large as 200naira tissue roll. More retain placenta was removed. I was stitched again of tears that was neglected and those that reopened. I had to do anoda scan to confirm that the place is clear. That was another lesson,I was supposed to do a scan after the first mva.
It's over a week now and I'm gradually recovering after losing a lot of blood. Milk flow is still a work in progress. I sincerely thank God for my life and I hope my story will help someone out there. There are no two mothers ou there,God pls help we mothers to live and raise our children in Jesus name. Amen

Part 2

After my 2weeks hospital visit on 20th July I adviced myself not to visit the hospital or complain again due to the way the doctors treated me. I was berated as a foolish mother who doesn't want her baby to suck. Only the nurses offered little encouragement. All the people I talked to always think it's a first time mum syndrome. The next day being Thursday 21st morning I saw another red blood with clot,in the evening I was leaning over the gas cooker(couldn't stand straight for reasons nobody could explain ) I had a gush of blood that filled my pad, went to loo and the clots fell out,3 of them. The next day I was back to UPTH. The female consultant sent me to post natal ward and sent a female and a male senior reg to attend to me. It took 1hr 30mins looking for my folder and was finally found at labour ward. I narrated my birth story to the Drs and after going through the birth report they said their was no mention of problem with placenta or manual placenta delivery as I narrated to them. I was sent on a quick scan and retained placenta was confirmed. Next they sent my DH to buy some drugs required for MVA. By the time we are done, the 2 doctors had left and handed over to another senior Dr and a younger Dr. After all protocol and charging us for a procedure that was as a result of their mistake, the mva was done. I was told to go home immediately the oxytocin drip is finished. The drip was even rushed because it was wrongly pierced and some was pouring by the side. My dd cried all day. We got home 7.30pm. The next day I started experiencing new pain instead of feeling better. I was encouraged to rest. On Monday I complained to another dr over the phone and was told to come to labour ward if there is bleeding. But there was none so I stayed home. On Tuesday 26th July 2016,the day God gave me a second chance to life, I woke up 1.14am to attend to my crying baby and it was blood every where.

My Post natal Story-(dedicated to all mothers who lost their lives before, while and after giving birth, may their soul rip Amen)

I'm challenged to write this because I notice that much is said on pregnancy and labour but the only thing I have heard about post natal is losing baby weight. Once you gave birth you are on your own and have to rely on instinct and other mothers experience.
To the glory of God I gave birth on the 5th of July. Once the delivery is over and after an hour I was able to get up. They confirmed vital signs,I had a bath and took my baby to post natal ward. Few hours later I started feeling pain and was given diclofenac to use rectally. Babies don't come with manual but I know it's time I picked up my baby and breastfeed. Nobody said anything about putting baby to breast in one hour or skin to skin. I was happy baby's Latching was strong but was disappointed when no milk flowed. 12hrs after birth I had to give LO a solution of teaspoon of glucose and 30mils of water. The next day I was discharged still no milk, the nurses blamed me for not trimming and cleaning my tips, other mothers encouraged me to take pap, tea, lots of water etc that it will flow. The first few days following my baby's birth I feel a lot a pain and pressure that increases by the day. I was told to be strong that every mother passed through same. And worse still no milk. Advices were coming left right and center and I was faced with to give or not to give formula. My mother arrived on the third day and took over. It was pressure left right and center ,I was bearing pains as adviced both in the abdomen and down below and also under pressure of no milk. I had no other plan than to feed my baby exclusively. My baby cries all the time and hubby puts pressure. I tried everything including taking stout and palm wine still no milk. Then came occasional red blood with clots week 2 postpartum. I reported to the hospital and doc adviced I go home and observe. It was never mentioned that red blood should not be seen after one week of birth.

Doctors in the house please help me. I gave birth 23days ago. I had heavy bleeding twice including a serious emergency one(it was God that kept me alive)and done 2 mva for retained products on both occasions . The scan I did yesterday said small product is remaining and misoprostol was inserted since yesterday but I had no contraction or saw any products. Is this normal? Also I feel pressure on my vagina and the last time I felt this pressure I had bleeding. My delivery and first mva was at UPTH,the second and more serious one was a close private hospital. Both ends want me to watch and see but I'm worried. Pls help

Congrats to all the mothers that have given birth.
Cassieluv I got to read ur bs it's just similar to mine. Congrats dear.

On the other hand the devil has been trying so hard to deprive me from enjoying motherhood. After delivery I was fine and home the next day. But I never recovered. I started looking pale,no breast milk, different complains here and there. I couldn't take good care of my baby. Everybody including the doctors kept saying I will be fine that it's just a ftm things. Last Thursday night I started bleeding with clots and lo and behold I was checked the next day and lol and behold 18days after child birth I had retained placenta. My people it's God that saved me. MVA was done to remove it. Any mama that has information should just advice. I feel much better except a little pain in my belly. But my breast milk is yet to flow well still.

Liftedhands:
sitz bath will help you heal yonder, add dettol or savlon plus salt to warm or Luke warm water and sit in it 3 or 4 time daily for about 15 minutes. The blood called lochia will stop by itself try not to do strenuous things so the flow doesn't increase.

Drink lots of water or fluids and keep putting baby to suck the flow will increase the more times baby sucks the breast. Take care.
Thanks dear. Have been doing sitz bath diligently as above. Thanks for info on the lochia, maybe it's because I wan do superwoman that increased the flow.

As per the breast milk issue I have tried all adviced and even non adviced method like palm wine, stout etc. I have pumped and pumped. Maximum I got was 10ml,chai I cried. My baby will be at breast for like 1hr and still be hungry. I had to supplement with formula. I'm meeting the doctor tomorrow. Two weeks is too long to continue trying without medical attention.

I missed a lot of pages. Not sure if I can still catch up. Post natal is not easy. I don't if I was even one quarter prepared for it. Did anyone experienced such? I was so overwhelmed with responsibilities and the challenges. I thank God my mum is here ooo and have been my rock all this while. She was sick few months back and I can't begin to imagine how I would have coped without her. Mother is indeed supreme,oh yes!

Just a little question, I had bruises down below how do I make them heal fast? I still Oz little blood with small clot is this normal? I had this labia swelling, how I go take handle am? And finally has anyone use supplement to increase breast milk production? I really want my bae to breastfeed well, she like breast kai.

Cc liftedhands,kaffy4bill,cherrymum,lovinam all sabi mamas.

Your suggestions on the rashes is very helpful, we have great improvement, God reward you.

Am happy, kpele. Its very very annoying and fustrating. My son has had 3 episodes of this. What worked for me, I changed his soap to baby sebamed and used savlon in his bath water and also to rinse his clothes. After his bath, I rub a mixture of baby tribotan and vegas(one mama advised it here and it worked) and then agnesia powder on it. Heat aggravates it too so try to keep it airy. After its gone, it leaves spots but with time it fades out.
Thanks dear

Part 4
Doctor went ahead to speed labour up by giving me drip,I was dehydrated and also on oxytocin injection. That's when I see the real pain. I called Jesus, shouting that I need pain relief. I begged the nurse, doctors etc for help they just ignored me. I didn't know when I started shouting mummy moo and the Names of my siblings to come and help me. I spoke Igbo all through in favour room and they nicknamed me typical Igbo woman.

I called my DH on the phone (they didn't allow him to enter) to pray for me. 12.45pm we moved to the delivery room. I was 10cm but baby's head refused to crown. She's faced up,posterior occipital. I was encouraged to push several times which I did but no show. The Doctor started chooking his hand in my V encouraging me to push harder. They gave episiotomy. Finally the doc was able to turn the head and I gave one push, the head came out,I heard one nurse shout cord and they say don't push. They flipped the cord and I gave one final push. my miracle princess came into the world at 1.10pm but she didn't cry. One doc with the nurses took her out to start resuscitation process. Finally after about 5mins I heard her cry and started shedding tears. Then the devil wan put sand sand, the placenta did not come out in full and I started bleeding. After manually removing the debris the bleeding refused to stop. Next they found a tear on my cervix and called for emergency. I gave birth 1.10 p.m but it took till 3.30pm for them to finish the repair.I thank God for life. My DH called all the pastor's he knows including Christian brethren to pray. God took control and the bleeding stopped. In all I'm grateful to God for everything and to everyone on this thread for the love and support.

I will be back to share lessons learnt.

Part 2
On Sunday morning I was so worried and stayed up all night because my only option may be induction since there are no signs of labour and my next visit will be on thurs a day after I have been scheduled for induction. I then remembered a Doc in the clinic who has been a divine-guide during ttc till 1st trimester before they changed him. I cried when he left because God used him. I decided to watsapp him,as usual he opted to check me himself and scheduled I come in Monday instead. He did another membrane sweep this time more painful than the first one. He directed my file should be taken to ANC ward but the nurse took it to labour ward instead. Got home ok,eat my ofe akwu. Went to fellowship in the evening trekked like 1hr. At night I couldn't sleep. Kept feeling the urge to poo,DH joked that maybe labour wey I dey find upandan is here.I went to loo twice and slept. 1a.m Tuesday 5th July I woke up to feel the first regular contraction and I exclaimed 'labour is here.

The love in this thread is immeasurable. Thank you mamas for the solutions. We feel much better now.

My BS part1

Edd was 28th June,it came passed no show. The next day being my ANC I visited the hospital. Dr did membrane sweep and I went home feeling little irregular contraction. The next day I saw show but no water. I waited till Sunday no signs. I trekked, jogged(my street people are still talking about this),eat pineapple, kpekus still no show. Meanwhile Tue 5th and wed 6th has been declared public holiday. Doc has already informed that if I don't go into labour naturally on or before we'd that they will induce. I prayed against this because of all terrible stories of induction I had.

It's very shameful. Like someone said the women can change it,if they raise their sons to be different from their fathers.
