Awon oniranu
False. The Ghanaian cedis is not bigger than the naira. Have you forgotten that in 2007, Ghana redenominated their currency by making 1000 cedis equal to 1 cedi. Nigeria could have easily done the same but that is a ridiculous policy with no real benefit. The cedis has lost 70% of its value since then.

Abuja enjoys one thing today, which Lagos was denied of; Proper urban planning.
( And relatively inexhaustive space.)

Plus it doesn't have the weight of being the commercial centre of the country like Lagos.
You can't talk about Abuja's proper planning without giving credits to Nasir El'Rufai. The man is about replicating the same in Kaduna. He has already made Kaduna the state with the highest IGR in the North and highest investment destination in Nigeria as at last year.

You can hate the man but you can't fault his administrative acumen.
PoliticsRe: Farmer's Killing: Who Is The Owner Of The Farm Rice? by AMINDA: 6:41am On Dec 03, 2020
helinues:
Stop jumping into threads?

Are all the killed farmers Rice farmer's owners?
Land is not a problem in the North. If you are not a lazy person, there is always a large expanse of land available for you to cultivate in the North. Those people killed were commercial rice farmers and their farm workers harvesting rice in their fields. Which is why analysts say there may be an economic warfare in place with terrorists aiming to starve Nigeria going by recent attacks on farmers.

The problem in the North is not Police brutality, if anything, the North is severely underpoliced due to the large expanse of the land. This why the North could not relate to EndSars. The Police are not their enemies, they need more of them.

The North has been plagued by Boko haram for over a decade now and although much still needs to be done, the Northeast has seen a little bit of respite. A time once was when bombs were going off on daily basis in public spaces killing scores of people all over the North, even in Abuja. The UN building, churches, mosques, markets, bus parks and even the Police Hq were not spared. Children were searched on daily basis before being admitted into their classes. Nowadays, the major casualties are mostly soldiers battling the terrorists in the deep fields until this recent incident.

However, a new ugly trend is rearing its head in the Northwest, the emergence of bandits. Some people believe these are Boko haram terrorists displaced from Sambisa and other Northeastern areas who have found a profitable business in kidnapping for ransom. There is urgent need for a change in tactics to arrest these new realities.

Curiously, not even one of these petitions are from a family or victim of Lekki Toll Gate. We were all sold a dummy.

The aftermath of the whole EndSars shenanigans and the obvious attacks on Tinubu and his establishments has succeeded in making a lot of Northerners sympathetic to him. Previously, the average Northerner couldn't care less about Tinubu but this isn't the case anymore. All things being equal and barring any unforeseen circumstances, the North will support a Tinubu presidency.

Ok.. But what about her reply which is actually true that the protests at Lekki were never violent? Those area boys are a product of our political system and are usually prime targets of police for extortion. It is true that there was no violence at Lekki despite the presence of police personnel as at 19th Oct 2020 not true?
Thank you. The whole essence of this back and forth was to prove to you that the area boys at the Lekki toll gate were piling up stones and bottles. So when the Army claimed under oath that were pelted, it is not out of place to believe them. I'm glad I have been able to convince you on that. The claim that the CCTV camera was switched off has also been disproved. The tribunal played the video for the whole world yesterday. There was no massacre. You can watch it on Premium Time's facebook live page below. Can a single witness or victim's family on the protesters side please show up at the panel already? It seems the government has won this round.

The government must have hired a lot of you guys to twist the narrative to suit it's agenda. This is not the first public protest in Nigeria and not even the first violent one. But this is the first time the army has been brought in with the aim of killing protesters. Even during the more than one month protest (sometimes violent) in the aftermath of the June 12 election, Abacha as bad as he was never deployed the army to kill protesters.

For your information army do not stock blank bullets as they have no use of them. Black bullets are only used by police to quell riots. Besides, the bullets casings found by DJ Switch, CNN and others are not casings from blank bullets.

A Major got injured during a riot? You mean someone up to the rank of a major was deployed to quell a civilian protest?

Anyone arguing with you paid hacks is wasting his or her time, it's like arguing with Lai Mohammed or Kayleigh McEnany.
Lol. You know nothing about the Army. The Army do not stock blank bullets? What then do they use for trainings? Military parades? Gun salutes? Please do not confuse blank bullets with rubber bullets.

Why do you all assume that anyone who refuses to buy your narratives and chooses to apply rational thought is automatically on government payroll? The government must really have a lot of people on it's payroll.

The Army were deployed all round Lagos following the curfew and not just to Lekki. Are we supposed to believe that the same Army who didn't shoot at a single hoodlum caught looting and burning will now open fire at protesters at the toll gate? Ask yourself, what is the motive for that?

Funny enough, the first sources of bullet shells we saw did not come from government sources nor the Army, it came from the protesters and their enablers and they were clearly blanks! Again, check the dates and time.

It does prove something. It proves that some of the protesters were "armed" contrary to what they will have us believe. Is your guy licensed to carry? Possession of firearms is an offense, in case you don't know. You can only speak for your guy and his ability to follow through with his threats. This thread is about someone at the toll gate who was clearly armed.

So protests with stones and bottles should be met with live army bullets? The way some of your reason is below animals.

OK. Provide proof that any soldier at the Lekki toll was injured with bottle or stone to elicit a retaliation with military bullets.
Did you look at the post I replied to? The Army had consistently maintained that protesters hauled stones at them, you are the ones who kept saying it was a lie. I only provided proof that protesters had stones and bottles in their possession.

When you choose to haul stones at armed soldiers, you should be prepared for however they choose to respond. In anycase, the Army had said under oath that they responded with blank bullets showing great restraint. Why hasn't a single protester at the Lekki Toll Gate shown up at the tribunal? Setting up a Judicial panel is one of the 5for5 demands.

As for who got injured, go listen to yesterday's testimony of the Army at the Judicial panel. He specifically named a Major who got injured from the attacks on that night. Do make sure you watch the testimony yourself, do not rely on sensational headlines from media houses looking for clickbaits.

But you don't have sense. Thats the issue undecided
This is a Telegram group of the EndSars protesters. You can clearly see a protester displaying a gun or is this also a toy? No point denying that some of the people disguising as protesters were armed on that night, there are videos to corroborate this. In fact, the bullet wounds sustained by some people on that night, are consistent with pellets from a low calibre firearm, probably victims of friendly fire. This explains why most of them were discharged in days. Gunshot wounds from an AK47 which is the standard carry of the Nigerian Army, will be much more devastating at such close range. (Think entry and exit holes, think shattered bones and tissues, think blood soaked floors, think multiple deaths from one shot, etc.)

I do not subscribe to violence but we should stop reporting what will incite crisis and violence at all times.if the oyigbo massacres were not reported, then it's to prevent retaliatory attacks and escalation....1966 is far too different from 2020!
Make no mistake, the reason why Nigeria did not descend into full blown civil war during this supposed EndSars protest is because of the immense restraint shown by the North. It appears they were wise enough to know that the so-called protest was a coup attempt by fifth columnists against Buhari and they weren't ready to jeopardize his presidency. The targeted attacks on Northerners in the East is well documented and Northerners are not oblivious of the fact. The tribalism in Nigeria is a ticking time bomb.

Okay, how about the leader that has been busted to be a morbid Tinubu hater? Clearly, the EndSars key players were not as non-partisan as they would have us all believe. Virtually all of them have been found to be either pro-Atiku or anti-Tinubu. Little wonder why they quickly changed from EndSars to EndBadGovernance, thereby politicizing the protest.

PoliticsRe: #endsars: Be At Alert, See What Will Happen In Two Days' Time by AMINDA:
10mobile:
This #EndSARS protest is beginning to spiral out of control. Joblessness is the main thing fueling it now. It's only those who don't have jobs that are still forceful about it. In other words, criminal elements are beginning to hijack it. The law-abiding citizens are beginning to think about their businesses/jobs.

You all heard how some people broke into a correctional facility in Edo State and freed prisoners. Soon, the criminal elements (who would be more than happy to see everywhere up in flames) would start breaking into shops and homes to steal and kill or to rob on the streets, using the lacuna left by police absence. Some ex-SARS operatives (who must be lacking money now that they're disbanded) will regroup and begin to rob. THEN, THE GOVERNMENT WILL SEE REASONS TO USE FORCE ON THE PROTESTERS AND WILL BE JUSTIFIED BY THE WORLD. This way, the youths would have lost all the gains of the protest.

WHAT TO DO?
I suggest that YOU back out of the protest for now. The Nigerian youths have made their presence felt and their voices heard. A wise performer leaves the stage when the ovation is high. Let's not allow bad eggs to spoil our achievements so that we can successfully build on this in subsequent months and years. Let's not give the Devil (that is, FG) a foothold against us (cf. Eph. 4:27).
In the end, OP was right. When you are blessed with intelligence, your analysis will look like prophecies.

Moral Lesson: Never follow the mob, they are almost always wrong. They kept saying they had no leaders, it was a shameless way to avoid personal responsibility. Individuals rarely accept their mistakes, groups never do.

Everybody seems to think it's a normal thing. So, please, if this question sounds foolish, I am sorry. But I still want to know because elders say that "those who ask questions don't miss their ways".

Why exactly is the Government seizing passports and freezing the accounts of #EndSARS participants and leaders even when the President and the governors have apparently been suing for peace? I've just read a piece of news that says that arrested #EndSARS protesters are to be bailed with the sum of N50,000 each.

Again, I'm sorry if I sound stupid. But I have to admit that I am utterly confused here. Are they being arrested for what? If it was said that people caught capitalizing on the protests to commit crimes were being penalized, I would have understood it. But to punish people just for leading or participating in the protests makes me want to ask, "what crime does a protest consist in?"
EndSars derailed very quickly when they refused to engage the government despite a lot of concessions. That was the first red flag that it has become a fifth column operation. They also have a telegram group where you can clearly see some of them armed and threatening violence. They also covered their crimes and plotted how to clamp down on dissenting voices in the social media space in a herd-like manner. They claimed the protest was organic and had no leaders but that was a lie, it was a carefully organized coup attempt. A lot of youths were fooled though.

Follow this Twitter link for images and voicenotes from the telegram group.
