Dear Parents/Guardians, The exams are over and school is almost out for the 2016 academic year. Your children will bring reports home this week. I know you are all really anxious for your child to do well. What's the meaning of "doing well?" Please do remember, amongst the children who sat for the exams, is an Artist, who doesn't need to understand Maths. There's an Entrepreneur, who doesn't care about History or English literature. There's a Musician, whose Chemistry marks won't matter. There's a Sportsperson, whose physical fitness is more important than Physics. If your child does get top marks then great. But, if he or she doesn't, please don't take away their self- confidence and dignity from them. Tell them it's ok, it was just an exam. They are cut out for much bigger things in life. Tell them, no matter what they score, you love them and will not judge them. Please do this and if you do, watch your children conquer the world. One exam or a 90% marks won't take away their dreams and talent. And please do not think that doctors and engineers are the only happy people in the world. Be happy for them when they come home with those reports this week. Encourage them to do better. Motivate those who were not successful. There's beauty in going back and giving it another shot. Don't judge them. They expect of you, their mother, their father, most of all to understand and to still believe in them. Failing a grade can never make your children failures. Their destinies lie locked up in far greater things. Copied from Facebook

So, I've been wanting to address the recent drama that happened between the president of Nigeria and his wife, but didn't have time when it was still a hot topic. However, I do have some time now. Hence, to tackle the topic: "My wife belongs to my kitchen, my living room and the other room", It will be of great value to start by giving simplified definitions of a woman, as well as, a wife. Thus, a WOMAN is a supernatural being, in a human form, characterized by dimensional attributes, which include: a multiple personality, hidden and obvious powers, clothed with the soft covering of nature, (T.E, 2016). While, a wife is a divinely appointed mate, who is DISCRETE with her family; a HOME KEEPER/BUILDER, a SUPPORTER, HELPER, and is SEXUALLY FAITHFUL to her husband. She is the care-taker to her nuclear family and, also, the HEART of her HOME, (T.E, 2016). Consequently, Being a care-taker leaves you incharge of your territory. You are in charge of your nuclear family members (husband and children). Having established the two definitions above, it is very key to note that: a woman and a wife are not the sam e in meaning (well, for this writeup). Now! Don't give me that look of "what the hell is she talking about?" well, yes! They are not same in meaning. Although, you are first a woman before you become a wife, it doesn't make them the same in meaning, at all! Some women can't handle or embrace "role play" and, if you cannot, you definitely can't function as a wife. To that end, they are best being just women. This is not to opine that, I'm exalting one over the other, not at all, one just comes with more responsibilities. Certainly, a wife is the combination of both definitions ( I hope you now understand why I said they are not the same?). Being a care-taker leaves you incharge of your territory; you are in charge of your nuclear family members. Evidently, being a wife is more than just saying the traditional "I DO" to a man..., it goes beyond that. The problem these days is that: intending wives do not fully understand the total package of being a wife. The PRIMARY responsibility of a wife is her husband (I'm not going to say children because you met your husband first before any child comes along), hence, he is your primary responsibility. You are his "home". You are to nurture him, cook for him (the kitchen), be his companion (the living room), and give him your body (the other room). These are your primary responsibilities as a wife and not a woman. You are a home builder, you should make the household welcoming. You are the heart of the home! Embrace it! The heart pumps blood to every part of the body including the HEAD (the husband). If the heart stops working, the head dies! It is also worth noting that, the role of a wife is not demeaning, at all. The only reason the female gender see it as demeaning is because we often mix what is expected of a woman and a wife together. As a wife, you are only a wife to your husband, but, to every other man, you are just a woman. So anyone who is not your husband shouldn't expect you to play the WIFE role to them. To clear the issue on ground, I personally don't see anything wrong with what the president said. He said, "MY WIFE belongs to MY kitchen, MY living room and the other room", he didn't say ALL women. He was taking about HIS wife. In essence, I don't understand why it was a big issue (probably because politics is involved), else really, I don't see anything wrong with what he said. To us, Aisha Buhari is just a woman, but to President Buhari, she is HIS WIFE and not just a woman. Now, to the wives who saw it as being offensive, please answer these questions: "Who is in charge of your kitchen?"; "Who is incharge of keeping your husband's company?"; "Who is he suppose to have sex with?". Also, to the married men who were opposing what the president said ( I'd like to believe your case was born out of political sentiments), but, let me also ask you: "Do you expect your female colleague to be incharge of your kitchen?"; "To keep you company when you are resting at home from a long day at work?"; "Or is your female colleagues responsible for warming your bed?". Endeavor to answer these questions objectively and educate yourselves on the truth. Now, let us be very clear, being a wife doesn't stop you from being a woman. You are a wife to your husband alone; not a wife to every man around you. Please, to the Wives and intending wives, EMBRACE your role. It is not demeaning. In fact, it is very -far from that; it is a duty to take pride in discharging but, not all women can handle it. So, be proud of yourselves. Do not let anyone make you feel less. Do not have the mindset of competing with your husband; your home is not your office where you may have to compete with your male colleagues. A wife and a husband both have different roles to play, just as this Quote says: "I'm a Queen, I don't have to struggle with a kings crown. Let him enjoy his glory while I blossom in mine. We are both made to compliment eachother" So, embrace yours with grace. Lastly, being a wife does not limit you in anyway. It does not stop you from achieving your set goals as a WOMAN, it does not stop you from imparting your generation. Being a wife does not stop you from doing exploits, as a WOMAN. Remember, you are a WIFE to your husband alone but a WOMAN to the world. The expectations are different.
