Other illnesses were killing people in Nigeria before Coronavirus arrived and deaths from other ailments would continue to happen with or without Coronavirus. What gives you the assurance that we will never have that kind of mortality in Nigeria?
How do you know NCDC figures are not true?
Just try to find out the number of cases and deaths many other countries have recorded (countries that are more organized and have far lesser population) and you'll realize that the NCDC figures are most probably much lower than what the actual figures would be if enough testing is done.
I should advise you to stop believing everything you hear everyone rumouring and making baseless conclusions. Coronavirus pandemic is real and it kills people!

For instance, in Brazil and India the level of fatality/mortality was low for a long period (just as it is low right now in Nigeria), but suddenly the daily mortalities began to rise increasingly. Right now, the total reported death in Brazil is close to 40,000 (and it was less than 10,000 about a month ago).
Logically, the higher the number of people that contract the virus, the higher would be the mortality IN THE LONG RUN. It is estimated that about 4-6 out of every 100 people that contract the virus would die (eventually).

Should I call them an inform them that I’m not a yahoo boy or just ignore them.

I'm not sure whether or not the virus is a scam in Nigeria, but from what is being reported in other countries (e.g over 100k people dead in USA alone and close to 2million infected) I think the virus is serious and should not be taken for granted.

Which countries have reopened schools without first putting reasonable safety measures in place? I just need you to know that people are dying from contracting this virus (over 100k people reportedly dead in USA only from coronavirus in just about 3months). So, you should think twice and ask yourself if it is really worth risking the lives of students because of education.
Moreover, because of our inability to carry out adequate testing in Nigeria, we don't really know for sure how serious the virus is in the country. This should be our priority first before thinking of opening up schools and easing the lockdown. Other countries are easing their lockdown only when they are certain that the spread of the virus has reduced considerably. in our own case, we are thinking of reopening schools when we don't even know how widely the virus is spreading, and this is hypocritical because we don't actually value education that much in this country.

In war, you think of safety first before any other thing. So the way forward is to first find a cure or vaccine for the virus.

If it is true that coronavirus does exist and spreads as rapidly as is claimed from person to person, then if schools are reopened without an effective vaccine or cure being found for the virus, the whole situation will become absolutely chaotic, "extra-pandemic" and totally intractable; almost everyone will become infected! There will be no remedy to the damage that such thoughtless and heedless decision would cause. In the end, no one would give a fvck about education—survival would be everyone's concern(nothing else will really matter when your life, your ONLY life, is being threatened). Is this what you want?
I'll advise you to think carefully, circumspectly and seriously about the various ramifications of this issue before you start advocating for schools to be reopened. Also, keep in mind that while education is admittedly valuable, safety is of paramount importance.

To put an end to any addiction (no matter what it is), follow the following steps:
* Make a comprehensive list of all the negative/undesirable/painful impacts your addiction is having on your life (or that it could potentially have on your life sooner or later in the future)
* Juxtapose the momentary pleasure/satisfaction you gain from such addiction with the pain (the list above) that results from it. I hope you'll see clearly now that the gain is certainly not worth the pain
* Make up your mind decisively and with firm determination to put an end to the addiction. Constantly remind yourself from hour to hour of the need to stop the addiction
* Now, don't try to end the addiction abruptly, rather you should progressively reduce the frequency at which you engage in the addictive behaviour. For instance, if you normally drink daily, reduce it to once in 3 days (this is much easier than to stop drinking altogether). When you do this for a while (say about 1month), you will become accustomed to this new frequency of drinking and this implies that your addiction has reduced. Afterwards, you may then further reduce the frequency to around once in 5 days until you again get used to this new frequency. Continue this progressive reduction in the frequency at which you engage in the addiction until you can finally and conveniently withdraw from the addiction altogether
* If you believe in prayer, you can as well strengthen your determination and effort with prayer
This gradual withrawal strategy will work for any kind of addiction: masturbation, alcoholism, eating disorder, addiction to games, addiction to nairaland (and other social media), and other negative deep-rooted habits that you may want to get rid off.
To get rid of a long-established habit or addiction suddenly and once-and-for-all, it's going to take a great deal of determination, will-power and self-discipline. Most people will find this to be extremely difficult!
