TravelRe: Travelled Abroad In Search Of Golden Fleece? - Share Your Experience With Us by amsky(m): 5:40pm On Jan 29, 2008
owenjay,
you are very correct again smiley
life out here is notas rosy as people back home think.well,i am a british as well as a nigerian citizen. i came here after my first degree in nigeria.i have seen people who get here illegally and are regretting the day they ever thought of leaving Nigeria.
For now i'm here to earn a living, but will i go back home to nigeriahuh you bet i will. i have a fairly good job,my husband has a great job too,but that's not to say that we did not have better potentials in Nigeria. As i'm talking to you,i know someone who came here from nigeria illegally.she got friendly with a guy who stays in a council flat.things went sour bw them and the guy reported her to the police, saying she is came in illegally and all that.now the cops are hot on her trail.life has been bad for her.she now lives by handouts from the few nnigerians she has met so far.it's only a matter of time before she's caught and the rest will be history.
the disheartening thing is the way the guys get here.i lost a classmate in 2005 who entered a container and hope to get to Germany or europe alive.
My husband is a staff of an oil company with offices in nigeria.his colleagues who were sent here on STAs or some sort of posting were lamenting when they were due to leave after spending 4-6 yrs here. They barely had any savings.

anyway, there is one thing i enjoy here-order,24hrs power supply, when you pay tax,you see benefits,no fuel queues or scarcity. one advice i'll give here is: if one can live comfortably in nigeria, pls stay put. wink

owenjay have i helped you? hope i have. Enjoy your evening.
FamilyRe: Money Or Children Which One First? by amsky(m): 5:19pm On Jan 29, 2008
them dey think am? na money na.shoooooo.

having children is expensive you know.if you do not have the money, then why have kids?how will you feed and clothe them? this is 2008 o. things have changed drastically. when you have money, you can take good care of your kids, provide good housing, feed them appropriately et tout ca. so,money before kids okay. wink
FamilyRe: Who Pays The Bills (husband Or Wife) by amsky(m): 5:13pm On Jan 29, 2008
yes michelin, you are right, but things like kids' fees, housekeeping etc should be handled by the man(traditionally). some guys get annoyed when their wives pay o.they'll say the woman wants to stage a coup-d'etat.

In my own case, there is no hard and fast rule.if i pay good, and if he does, better grin. it's all for the common good.
FamilyRe: Which Is More Important:staying Married Or Getting Married? by amsky(m): 5:08pm On Jan 29, 2008
@ richyblack
heeeeyyyyy you againhuhhuh

anyway.you may not know that the guy is abusive.i know there are people who do not court long enough, but only get married to discover another side of their spouse. What do you think. it happens. what i'm saying is this: when you see things are turning sour(ie physical and emotional torture/abuse) what do you do? You quietly take off your shoes, put them underneath your arms and borrow leg. Abi? cheesy
FamilyRe: Your Career Or Home: Which Comes First? by amsky(m): 5:01pm On Jan 29, 2008
@ Bblak

yes you are right when you say it's about being able to strike a balance bw the two.

but not every woman is able to do that.what do you say about a mother who forget's to pick up her kids from the nursery cos she's at a meeting?
It's not easy multi- tasking you know. For me though,my home comes first, eventhough i work and i have the ambition of furthering my career.
My husband once asked me to stop work cos he went to the nanny's place to pick the children up and my little boy was soooooooooo hungry and had not eaten.Imagine seeing your child that way-had not had lunch since he came back from school at 12 and he went there by 6.30pm.The man just asked me to stay put at home. would you at that point insist on working?? my dear,i was home for 5mths.

on the other hand it depends on what one thinks is important. i'll choose my home anytime.i'm learning to multi-task myself.it's not easy,i promise, but it's far better than loosing one's home. wink
HealthRe: Help I Cant Have A Second Round With My Girl by amsky(m): 4:46pm On Jan 29, 2008
Tommyking, just got to see your post.
Yohimbe is a herbal supplement. do you want to go natural or orthodox?on such matters i would advice you go natural, cos the orthodox ones've got sideeffects. but nonetheless,i'll let you in as much as time would permit on both sides.
Yohimbe is an aphrodisiac.it's also called Hot goat weed. i've never seen the tree, but i know it grows in Nigeria. It is originally used to treat erectile dysfunction. For me,it's the surefire way out of the condition.

if you have an ulcer, high bp,liver problem or kidney stones, then yohimbe is not for you.It promotes blood flow to the penile vessels and stimulates the areas of the brain that has to do with sexual desire.

tommyking,if you are on any sort of antidepressants, pls stay off yohimbe.
There is another choice one called ginseng. there are various types pf ginseng-korean,siberian,chinese etc.but what you want is the chinese or korean ginseng. This comes in various forms, teas, pills, capsules etc.
Iwill not say so much about the orthodox ones. lipsrsealed lipsrsealed i know you know why. but the herbal ones listed above are better tolerated and accepted by more and more people everyday. i really do not know where in lagos you can get these.but they are fairly common herbs and should not be difficullt to come by.

enjoy smiley

Must you go twicehuh? haba tommyking.na wa o!!!!!!

TravelRe: Nigerians In The UK Are So Stingy by amsky(m): 11:41am On Jan 28, 2008
Siena that is soooooo true.i have experienced it too.they overstay their welcome, and you'll feel so irritated.
someone i had not seen for a while called me one bright sunny day to say her sister was coming to london that same day and was going to stay in my house!!!!!! it took the love of GOD not to abandon her at heathrow.Only for the woman to get here and i saw she was 7mth preggy. She is older than my husband and i. so we were both trying to be respectful. She always tell me-i want bread and cheese in the morning.I was pregnant myself, and i already had one child. She announced that she would have her baby here since her doctor in nigeria said it woild not be advisable to fly. My husband had to tell her to go. I was pregnant myself and she came to throw herself at me and my familyhuhhuhhuh? i only know her sister for crying out loud.

anyway,we had to get her a b&b till her baby was old enough to travel. Since that nightmare, i have been stingy to the teeth. Would anyone blame me.Imagine paying for a b&b for almost 6wks unplanned. angry
RomanceRe: What Do U Suggest: ? by amsky(m): 11:24am On Jan 28, 2008
if you love him, you'll stick with him. The mere fact that you are thinking of ending it just cos he's diabetic leaves much to be desired.you do not love him.

pips have married other pips with even worse ailments.i know someone here in london that married an epileptic guy who is crippled.so what's diabetes?is it the end of the world?

sort your self out.it's obvious you do not love this guy.what else do you want to hear. Go read on the net about diabetes.it could lead to blindness, amputation and lots more.

you do not love him if you want to pack your bags at the mere mention of diabetes.people live with it for 20yrs and more. What now makes you think you wont run off if he gets some other ailment that can be contained. huh huh huh

RomanceRe: Is It A Good Idea To Hide Your Annual Income From Women? by amsky(m): 10:37am On Jan 28, 2008
Some guys guard their income close to their heart like it's some kind of dark secret.
A good woman will help you plan around your income, and guys there's no telling what a 'wrong'lady will do to your finances.

I know his income,he knows mine,so we work aroud that. wink
