Business › Re: Communications Tax: 25% Of Licensed Operators To Shut Down by Amya(f):
The government of the day's only focus of raising money these days is through taxation. Indirectly, the people bear the brunt of these multiple taxations as the telecom companies only has to increase its tariff to make profit.

Those people who never listened when we told them Buhari will take us to the dark ages should be filled with regret for afflicting us with this degenerative tumor.

Where is the US government and other European powers that were negatively vocal about the past administration. They're now mute after they have indirectly imposed on us the most incompetent president a country can ever have. GEJ meant well for Nigeria and for that reason became unpopular with those foreign powers that want us down forever.
Even with how bad things are in country, the foreign media still paint the present government in a good light. And you still think they mean well for the country.

YES!! That's their policy. Any establishment can make policies based on what they feel as long as it's plausible. all your olosho defending won't do a thing. The management obviously had a good reason for that policy and I stand with them on that.
Shut up! The constitution gives everyone the freedom against gender biasness or discrimination. The constitution trumps any stupid policy. If I can't get into that place simply because I didn't come with a man, that is clearly discrimination.

I remember all the hullabaloo made about the Chinese shop owner that refused to sell to black customers. Why wasn't it chucked up as being simply the man's business policy. When it comes to women being discriminated against all the misogynistic hypocrites will come a running to talk about stuff they know nothing about.

It's like going to get a tattoo when you're not up to 18, the rule is that you must come with an adult if you're underaged but wants a tattoo

Now, they told this dumb ass that single ladies weren't allowed, but she went with her "Americana" friends, Americana, na those people that lives on food stamp and government assistance ??

You want them to bend the rules for you because you're Queen Elizabeth
Chauvinistic pig! Of course you'd write this epistle because the rules favour you. You'd be one of those that think that a female is a lesser creature and should be discriminated against. So even with my money I can't hangout again with a female friend unless we're escorted by a male! listen to yourself!

She probably never would have be taken to the Olympics by the country she is naturalized in/ a citizen. So this is a big opportunity for her to be noticed worldwide. After her effort here at the Olympics, I'm sure the US would notice her and add her up in future competition. If she had won the gold, all the more better for her.

So most athletes that suddenly decide to represent their original country during competitions such as this are not necessarily doing the country a favour, but themselves and their future.

I'm sure she wasn't reached out to, but rather she reached out to sport officials to allowed to be part of a once in a lifetime opportunity.

My personal understanding of this whole issue after digging through the surface is this. . .

1. The girl sleeps around with various men, possibly for money.

2. The guy who ordered the beating was a self-righteous ass who tried to play God and became the village's morality avenger.

My verdict is this- Whether or not the girl was a village slut, the man had no right to play God by ordering the beating and taping it. If they felt she was being a nuisance in their community she could have been formally arrested or reported to her guardians.

Politics › OPINION: Increase In Fuel Price Not Linked To Subsidy Removal. by Amya(op): 12:12pm On May 12, 2016
When the price of crude oil goes up, so does the price of fuel price, and when crude oil price go down, so does the price of fuel. Simple commonsense.

When Jonathan was the president, there was at some point, steady increases in the price of crude oil which translated to an increase in fuel price, which further translated to an increase in subsidy payments. When Buhari took the reins, crude oil prices was on a decrease and it got to the point where there wasn't need for payments to be made, but rather for every litre, the govt were making 10 to 15naira.

From what I understand, crude oil prices is still somewhere around 40 something naira per barrel. there hasn't been some dramatic increase in the price of crude to warrant such increase, and there there hasn't been subsidy payments in a while now that would lead to a removal.

What has however happened is that dollars has been refused oil importers by the government, and they have to buy it at the black market rate which automatically translates to this new pump price of 145.

All I want to know however is what the government does with all the dollar it earns from crude oil since it's apparently removed oil marketers from the list of those accessible to it. Who then is accessible? of what use is the official CBN rate of the dollar if it no longer covers fuel imports? Is this not a another way to create a monster forex corruption by the government?

And why in God's name are the government and the media making it look like the increase is directly related to subsidy removal.

Think Nigerians, think!

Some people's total lack of comprehension is completely ridiculous. donfineboy and other slow witted people, the OP is not saying that Nigeria has the most beautiful women in the world, rather our beauty lies mainly in our lack of similarity. Nigerian women cannot be generalised. No one can say Nigerian have pointed nose, or are tall etc. You'd see every shape and sizes here.

The beauty of it all is you'll find whatever you want here. If you like 6 footer girls, you'll find here unlike a country where the females don't grow past a certain height. If you like women with flat rear-ends you'd find here unlike a country where most women have prominent rears.

Politics › Re: Nneka Ararume: ''Metuh Gave Me $2m Cash To Invest'' by Amya(f): 4:32pm On Jan 25, 2016
From the charge sheet I read sometime ago, Metuh is been charged for a specific sum. The 7 or so counts was basically about him receiving money (400 Million) meant for arms and bla bla bla, from the NSA and misappropriating it.

EFCC alleged that 400 million was transfered to his account (Company account) and after that, he transferred the billion Naira (possibly all the money in the account) to some other company he's not linked to.

Sentiments aside, I just wonder now where the 2million dollars came about and how it relates to this case. it has no relationship to the money he was charged with. So it's simply not relevant. I'm sure EFCC brought this particular witness to sensationalise the case. The judge will simply disregard it when writing the judgment as this testimony is not clearly not relevant.

I'll only entertain an argument from another lawyer.

If this was here in the States, does this pendejo know that he just talked himself into at least 20 years in Prison?! HE HAS NO DEFENSE!!!

And why is the EFCC allowing all sorts of characters visit inmates awaiting trial? The ONLY people that should be allowed to visit him PRE-TRIAL are his legal team; even his spouse should only be allowed to speak to him on monitored phone calls and only for a few minutes each week until the conclusion of proceedings. He should not be allowed access to his PERSONAL phones, and his letters--- both incoming and outgoing--- except VERIFIED Attorney/Client correspondence should be monitored. The result of neglecting control of Pre-Trial Inmates is the idiocy we see in the above article.

Anyway, Nigeria is still learning, hopefully they get it right before it's too late.
He's not an inmate, he's not in jail. He hasn't been charged and there's no trial. All what you see is someone detained albeit extra judicially. All what you see is a. setup and media trial.

The merits or demerits of obsession isn't the topic of discussion. The topic is rather if you'd had cause to obsess over someone or if someone had obsessed over you.

I had an ex who was so obsessed with me. He was sweet sometimes, but physical abusive and obsessed at the same time. Anytime I threaten to leave, he'd always tell me that he'd kill me and kill himself. One time, he embarrassed me in public and I knew I had to leave. I moved out of my school apartment and changed my line.

I ran into him 2 years later and he was pleasant. He told me I had hurt him when I disappeared but he'd gotten over me. He asked me where I was going and volunteered to drop me off. We were heading to the right direction when he suddenly veered off and started driving to town at a break neck speed. Jeez! I thought I'd die that day. I started screaming, shouting and begging him. He didn't look at my direction. His face was a mask! I started crying and pleading and suddenly, he slowed down. As soon as it was safe, I jumped out of the vehicle and ran as fast as my legs could carry me. That guy's a complete nut job!
Family › OBSESSION: Have You Ever Obsessed About Someone, Or Someone About You. by Amya(op): 10:50am On Dec 01, 2015
Obsession have been a recurring theme in my life. I've obsessed about couple of guys and have also been obsessèd over.

The craziest so far was couple of years ago when I met this ridiculously handsome South African man (and fell in love?). He had come to Nigeria for some business and I'd met him when I accompanied my friend to see his Nigerian friend. We got talking and wow! it seemed that we perfectly aligned. He had a good sense of humor and I appreciated his humor.

I started spending more and more time with him, just talking! We could talk for hours. We started even making plans for our future. Places we would go, things we would do. It was like a fairy tale. So perfect! In the space of 2 weeks I was head over heels in love.

I'd travelled to Owerri for a wedding the same week he was to travel back to Cyprus. We were constantly texting and calling each other all week till the afternoon he left. He said he was going to call me as soon as he got to Cyprus.

He didn't. 3 days after and still no call, i became restless and I assumed he lost my number. As i only had just his first name, Facebook and Google were out of it. I began the ultimate search! I asked my friend to call his friend to get his number. She couldn't, cause she wasn't speaking to the guy at that time. I called the hotel he lodged in requesting for his information. They refused, quoting some guest confidentiality blah!

I took to Google. Armed with just a south African first name, I began the ultimate search of life.

I found him! After two days of search! ( seriously FBI guys, recruit me, I'm quite the investigator.) I added him on FB, Skype, twitter. He ignored my requests. That should have been the first clue. I looked through his photos and noticed he was with a white chic in all of them. I simply assumed it was a picture of his ex that he hadn't bothered to deleted as none of the pictures was posted recently (delusional much!)

I wrote 12 pages of letter to his email. He gave me a 2 line reply. I wasn't bothered. I kept peppering him with messages on his Facebook, Skype and email his reply was short and noncommittal. After a while, he told me he was getting married I two months. Yeah, to the white Chic. I wished him well and logged off from his life forever.
I felt stupid. Didn't even know I was just a last minute fling to him. I got over it quicker than I expected. I still stalk him from time to time though.

Tell me yours!

I did, but 75% of the posts I saw exonerated him to the point that they ought to be paid for their hard work. Some said it was APC-PDP, others said our ancestors married at 14, one said 17 and 25 are now agemates, said she wasn't a virgin, her eye don tear, she's a vengeful ex.

Most people didn't pay Audu on the back, they simply screamed abuses at Sugabelly. There was no need to pat him on the back after that. If i were him, I'd go to court and pick a jury off NL. Not only would he win, but any girl who was no longer a virgin before 18 would have to attend mandatory sex parties grin and 11 would be age of consent.

No-one said "hey why didn't this guy just free her till a year later... "

My hubby went to school with him and said he wasn't a nice fellow. Another friend more bluntly called "a Shi.t". This behaviour of aggressive ownership didn't just start with this girl. But if we shoot her down, we will not hear about the quiet ones who did get their drinks spiked and end up crying in a hotel room with him and his friends. You may not like the messenger, but the message is valid.
They startrped hooking up in February. she turned 18 the next month.

Stillfire:
@Amya,

There were instances of threats and sex against her will. The fact that she did it before and may have even enjoyed it, does not now mean she agreed to every sex.ual encounter with the guys. So Rap.e indeed occur.

Here are some of her excerpts...
Even after he was fired in April of 2007, at the end of each work day, he would show up outside our office on Amazon street to whisk me away. I would step outside the gate, and he would be there in his red Mercedes, waiting, demanding I get in.

I was terrified that my refusal would mean the exposure of the pictures he had taken of me early in our relationship, photos I told him not to take, but he did anyway, photos in which I was naked and vulnerable.

I had so much to be fearful of. The thought of the videos Abdul recorded of Mustapha and Tunji raping me seeing the light of day filled me with sheer terror. The alternative was keeping it all secret, and so I did.

His brother Bashir, was the same age as me, and Mustapha decided, that one way or the other, it was his duty as big brother to rid Bashir of his virginity. At what was supposed to be a casual get together for suya and drinks at Tunji’s house, he dragged Bashir and me into the bedroom, and pushed us inside, saying to Bashir “Bleep her!” before locking the door, and leaving me alone in the darkness with his brother.

All my pleas to Mustapha were in vain, and the only thing we heard from Mustapha from the other side of the door was “Don’t let me come back and find out you’re still a virgin.”

On a different date, his cousin, Jibril raped me in that same room. I screamed, and screamed, and fought, and struggled, eventually sticking my fingers into his nose, and biting his hands. In retaliation, he bit me hard on the nose, and later that night, I explained away the swelling on my nose I came home with as an unfortunate meeting with the edge of a swimming pool.

Ah! seems your haven't gone through her 2008 blog post then. That's where all the truth lies.

What you don't get is that the girl desperately wanted to appear cool. She wanted to be this enlightened soul and went about it all the wrong way. Leave all that stories about how he had her nude picture and intended to blackmail her with it. That's all face saving strategy. She was kinda obsessed with the guy and like a zombie would do anything he asked. The humiliation came in when he dumped her after her supposed "sacrifices" for him.

I've read through all the detail I could get my hands on, tweets, blog posts
going as far back as 2008, emails e.t.c on this sugar belly and mustafa case
and I've reached the following conclusions.

1. Their first sexual experience in the car was consensual by all accounts.

2. They became lovers and did the car screwing for a while.

3. After he took her home for the first time, it got kinkier seeing how agreeable
and easy she was.

4. He took advantage of her love/infatuation and agreeability and introduced
new dimensions to their relationship. Triple Sins, SinParties, gangbangs e.t.c

5. She really wasn't extremely into all that kinkiness, but she thought being
agreeable will make her look cool and probably make mustafa love her more.

6. So she kept going back for more and more of that. But rather than love her,
he despised her agreeability. He hated her for not standing up to herself and
inflicted physical pain to go with it.

7. But she stuck around for the debasement till she left for college in the US.

8. While in the US, she 'd hoped that the relationship would continue, but it
didn't. he hated her for what she was and gladly closed the page on her
chapter.

9. She called persistently, sent loads of messages, texts e.t.c most of which
he never bother to reply. She did all she could for 8 months to revive the
relationship but the guy had lost interest.

10. And broke off with her officially to stem the flow of calls and messages.
She was heartbroken.

11. Rather than move on, that incident brought in depression, humilation and
extreme hatred.

12. A week after the break up, she wrote on her blog on how he dumped her
and how she still loved him. There was also the first reference to emotional
abuse on that post.

13. The humiliation of what she went through came back and started eating
her up. Making her relieve the experience and recreate it to suit her current
situation.

Did Mustafa take advantage of her? yes.

Did he abuse her physically and emotionally? yes.

Did he hate her? yes

Did he do gangbangs with her involved and his friends? yes

Was it consensual? yes!

The guy is a scum of the earth. He took advantage of an impressionable 17
year old and probably scarred her for life. But he didn't rape her.

And wait a minute, where did the guy's dad factor into all this? was he also
part of the Group Intimacy. Especially since it was his death that excavated
this brouhaha.
