teenidol: True !! From police brutality to accidental shooting.

Sometimes we are even more Afraid of the armed forces than the thief's or criminals.
Every other day, you will see a thread describing the painful ordeals nairalanders face by the armed forces.

Let us wipe the speck off our eyes!!

the other day, Nigeria stopped supplying gas to Ghana, If we can do that, why cant US refuse to sell us Arms.
Everybody on their own.
We are the ones who fought for independence, We should be independent.
I don't like threads like this, the ignorance is nauseating.
The human rights abuse they are hammering on isn't that meted out to the average Nigerian, but the Nigerian Army killing boko haramites without trial.

Fourwinds: yeah. I hope d country will be better of wth majority being single parents like d way some celebrities are today. and their children will follow suit. then as a single parent be it male or female d liberty to bang around will surely be adequately guarantee. it is just a means of teaching our children how to leave a life when they not comfortable with d present pattern.....look onto. d USA.
Live for yourself. Some people love marriage (a lot even), let them get married. For those that don't, let them live their life. If someone does not love the idea behind being married and because society dictates it, ends up getting married, such person will live and die of misery and society will live on.

Do what you want (within the ambits of the law). And your life will be a meaningful and happy one.

You have the right to think.

I think America should not have gone to Iraq.
Things are slowly but gradually changing.

Am really impressed with the way things are going in this country now. Woman now actually now realise they can be whatever they want to be. And while society might still judge them, they've developed such thick skins that criticisms about their virtue hardly gets them. All those unmarried female celebrities are still very much respected in the society. They've carved a niche for themselves which made them the celebrities that they are.

We should all learn to respect people's choice and never mock their decisions because it doesn't fit into our ideals. If someone believes she'll be complete and happy with a tall husband, why in the world would you discouraged that? same goes for the person who prefers a shorter man, being unmarried e.t.c

Problem with we Nigerians is we like poke nosing into people's matter. How is it any of our business on peoples choices and way of life.
Romance › Re: Why Nigerian Ladies Should Never Settle For Less by Amya(f): 10:04am On Sep 21, 2014
ZUBY77: While you have some good points, you still mixed things up.

This whole thing has to do with the society you were born into.
Things change over time.

The same America you are trying to stamp as the good environment restricted women from voting.
But eventually relaxed the laws that restricted women from doing certain things.

Whether you like it or not, We have males and females on earth.
One is stronger than the other and when you are stronger (America) You decide for the weaker (Iraq, Libya etc).

In African context, a certain law made it that women doesn't get land allocations in their fathers place.
It was made so to encourage marriage.
If you decide not to get married, that's your business buy understand that you are not getting nothing from the Father.
You must either marry or make your own big money.
Even with your money, you are not allowed to have kids in your father's place.

So the marriage thing comes again.

When your desired man is not reachable, you can step down a little.
Yes, men do the same too.
I know thousands of men who wanted to marry Ini Edo but when it didn't work, they didn't go for Angelina Jolie, they stepped down.

So forget your biased opinion.

I have seen your posts where you argue with guys over football, it is something you have the right to do and must be encouraged but to tell your father that you want Brad Pitt or nobody else, then you must go out and look for Brad or don't come back because you can never be the only one who saw Brad on TV.

All in all, knowing when to cash in is important.
God blessed women in such a way that numerous men always come after them whether they are ugly or beautiful, it is left for the girls to be calculative and know when to cash in.

Stop dreaming, we live in a real world.
I think every Individual, male or female has the right to choose what kind of like they want to live inspire of what the society encourages. If they decide they want Angelina Jolie or nobody, then that choice should be respected. It's their life after all.

Kelly32: Bother your words are the truth. The soullessness of Abuja has a direct relationship with the activities of the individual resident in it. "Nigeria is bad, Nigeria is bad" its the individuals that make it so.
Greed in an individual looks pretty harmless, but in a lot of people living in one place at a particular time, it becomes a monster. Tell me the Sense in this, you buy a house, you will not live in the house, you will not rent the house out, No one will live in the house, you die without your family knowing of the property, you sell the property for peanuts yet people are slaving to pay for just one room. May God show mercy on humanity.
You're wise! The rot is in individuals. The government is not a person, rather it's made of individuals.

I've been meaning to write an article like this for a while. Everything on this article is spot on!

The most ridiculous to me are those who have shops in mega plaza's like silverbird which cost millions of Naira and they now stock it with goods worth a fraction of the shop rate. Funny they sell their stuffs the normal market rate or slightly higher. It's so glaring that these businesses are operating at so much loss that you can't but think it's just a hobby.

I know couple of people who live fine in these abandoned mansions for years without paying a dime. Some even sublet the rooms. All is part of the national cake choppings sha. lol.

Well I can believe that. South African rarely travel out of their country. Unlike most Africans, they're so content with living within their country.

If 67 SA'ians died in the collapse, then the dead will be in their 100's

In truth though, every policeman and law enforcement agent deserve our respect and cooperation.
Without them, our society will be in chaos. They play a pivotal role in keeping things in check even though some bad eggs amongst them abuse the power given them.

Over the years though, there's been some impressive changes I've noticed in the police force though. There's been a drastic reduction in their 'extortions' from motorists and random killings for mere diobedience which at one point was the order of the day.

Nairaland General › Re: The Ten Worst Countries For Women by Amya(f): 4:23pm On Sep 07, 2014
lertee: If Nigeria women get half of the treatment Saudi women get from their husbands, they will be the healthiest and happiest on earth.

When your husband decides to do everything for you,as a Nigerian woman, you refer to him as a perfect gentleman but since it is happening that way in Saudi,it is now termed as "lack of freedom".
Talk of double standard..
Some people talk about giving freedom to their women, how many men would allow their wives stay out late, how many men will see their wives dress halfnude, how many men will allow their wives hang out with their girls, smoke, drink and club. These are all part of being free,(to those advocating for freedom)if a woman wants to do all these, why can't she do them ESP if she is married?
What in the world are you saying? marriage is a contract, and for it to work, the couple has to set boundaries on what makes the other comfortable if not the marriage will end. In a situation you want to have absolute freedom anyone in Nigeria has the choice to spend the rest of her life single, drink and smoke, have kids out of wedlock, infact do anything we wanna do that's within the ambit of the law.

meanwhile our Saudi Arabian sisters lack absolute freewill to choose their path in life. they are like slaves and are hugely discriminated against. Why can't they decide themselves how they want to live their life? the same thing you and many women the world over enjoy.

No one bothers to think things deeply nowadays. We just want to accept whatever people/the press are saying?

It's unfortunate though that the people behind this know how a typical Nigerian takes things at face value. Please where are the supposed chibok girls the aussie went to negotiate for? Where are the supposed drones from America to fight the terrorist? So many questions people don't even think to ask.
Politics › Re: SSS Absolves Iherijirka Of BH Sponsorship Without Investigations by Amya(f): 9:15am On Sep 06, 2014
My personal belief still remains that the Boko haram sponsors are not
Nigerians. This accusations and counter accusations from the two parties
have been orchestrated by the same sponsors to put Nigeria in constant
katakata so it gets to a point where the country breaks into bits and pieces.
America is the sponsor.

Terrorism is not cheap. those fanciful ammunitions is not cheap. Even with
scores of them killed, they still seem yo multiply even though no one can
pinpoint what they are actually fighting for. The money involved to lure recruits
and give them impressive ammunitions is' not chicken change. we're talking
100s of millions of dollars here. Nigerians are naturally hoarders. even if they
loot that kind of money they'all never spend it in meaningless war. even the
northerners. The northerners can only incite terrorism through words.
All these things is actually just meant to distract us from the truth that
America is behind this.
Politics › Re: Boko Haram: 50 Lawyers To Storm The Hague For Prosecution Of Sheriff, Ihejirika by Amya(f): 9:08am On Sep 06, 2014
I wonder why no one is asking this question. Shebi the Australian negotiator was brought to facilitate the release of the chibok girls? how far that angle na? when are the girls coming back?

so you mean to tell me that this dude was so at home with the Boko boys and they probably had tea with slices of sponge cake while they discussed bokoharam sponsors, and they had nothing AT ALL to say about the chibok girls which was the reason for his involvement in the first.

Rather, in other to distract the populace from the issue that the whole chibok kidnapping might be one big hoax, he started naming names. Like Boko haram will volunteer their sponsors just like that.

My personal belief still remains that the Boko haram sponsors are not Nigerians. This accusations and counter accusations from the two parties have been orchestrated by the same sponsors to put Nigeria in constant katakata so it gets to a point where the country breaks into bits and pieces.

I won't sink low to your level to start trading words with you.

Let me make this point before I go, what you and your fellow ghanians most especially petrodolla do at every thread that mentions ghana is make people who respect your country lose it as soon as they come across any of these threads. We wonder why the unnecessary insults? Why the defensiveness, why the raw languages, why the venom, why the hatred and then we also wonder, is it how ghanians behave? Why so uncouth?

I respect few of you ghanians though royalpearl and her likes who would never be sucked into using an uncouth and unsavory language in making her point.

To be honest with you, you guys argue like kids throwing a fit, that's why nobody ever takes you serious. Even when people have made their points and gone, some of you will stick around to quote people using idiotic languages. The insults don't make you win an argument, they actually portray you lot as imbeciles and kids.

I understand your pain, but the OP is a Ghana hater whose aim of posting this here is to get you guys excited since any negative news about Ghana gives nigerians joy, because they hardly hear bad news about Ghana grin grin grin grin

Ghanaians are just telling nigerians that you live in a glass building so stop throwing stones at Ghana/Ghanaians. Because despite Ghana's economy problem, Ghana is still thousand times a better country than nigeria cool

Just like one sensible nigerian said, "ALL OF NIGERIA'S LAUNDRY IS VERY DIRTY" grin grin grin
If you haven't been to Nigeria, it's preposterous to make such announcement. I haven't been to ghana before, so you'll never see me say Nigeria is better than Ghana. Fact is, I really to don't care which is better. Yes we get bad press alright, but I know for a fact that most of what is written about us is greatly exaggerated.

But if it makes you sleep better at night in your beliefs that Ghana is 1000% better than Nigeria then good for you! You can take that to the bank and cash some checks with it while you're at it.
