donpeey22: If this story is true, i don't see anythn wrong in a 40yrs old man marrying an 18yrs old girl provided there's a mutual consent. I have seen even 15yrs old girls who're more matured both in body and in character than some 35yrs old ladies, so, what's the fuss? All these overgrown single women that usually come up in arms whenever an older guy is planning marriage with a much younger girl, wetin be una own sef? If the story had been the other way round , y'all won't see any wrong. Hypocrites!Cradle robber! |
salaksmana: Traditional marriage is complete because marriage only means when a man and woman agree to marry each other and the two families accepted, but it is not binding under the law that is why a court/white marriage is needed and also for the spiritual aspect of it, depending on your faith/religious belief. You say traditonal marriage is complete, yet in the same breath you say it's not binding under the law. And you even got ignorant likes for this. Traditional marriages are complete and BINDING under the Nigerian law. No other type of marriage is needed after the traditional marriage |
deri4luv1: When you wear very short skirts, Gowns and clothes showing Your cleavage, why wouldn't your Boss get attracted to you! Ladies of this our Generation Go really suffer sha! Try and Be The boss, then wouldn't have to worry about the 10things stated aboveTry and use your brain for once in your life! So the simple fact that someone shows a cleavage and a leg gives license to men to sexually harass their female employees? You're probably one of those that would never take responsibilities for his action. Always looking for someone to pass the blame unto. Slowly backtrack into the cave you're emerging from. |
continentalceo: I think its to make you remember that u are getting old and that one day ur light will burnoutThat's depressing! |
New epassport? What was wrong with the old one? Oh I get now! This one can be transmitted electronically! See, I'm wise! |
Nice move by the FG. Every Nigerian has the right to live anywhere they choose to live. It's one of the freedoms guaranteed by the constitution. There should be harsh sanctions imposed on any state government who pursues this further. Long live Nigeria! |
Nairalanders hypocrisy never seem to amaze me. Someone comes looking for an advice and everyone is acting all holier than thou and judgemental. All these cheating married men that are flooding the place are they from mars? The fact is some men justifies the tinniest reason on cheating on their wives. This one even seems more legit than some I've heard over the years. OP try to talk to her. She really has to know her new dress sense is making her unattractive to you. let her know that reason you're so bothered is you don't want to have a reason to look outside. If she has any regards for the marriage, I assure you, she'll change. |
texazzpete: So what you're saying is that she was making a potentially libelous statement by trying to tar all lawyers who defend allegedly corrupt judges with a black brush. One of the reasons why the judiciary is an independent arm is that the judiciary is egg-shell fragile. When the judiciary fails, the whole system fails. While the worst defaulters of (the rich, the poor, the armed robber, the embezzler, politicians and the masses e.t.c)go through the whole court process, the judges have to go through a special tribunal. Why then don't they go through normal court processes? Shouldn't that be there rights as citizens of the country? Predilection, predilection predilection! That's why! For any judge to be called before the NJC for corruption charges there must have been insurmountable evidence of such wrong doing clearly evident and visible and not hearsays! The relationship between a lawyer and a judge makes it so uncomfortable for the former to defend the later during trial as the outcome of the trial (when positive) may create a position of indebtedness on the part of the judge. |
bamto: When the supposed most learned in the land starts speaking like a road-side mechanic, you don't need a seer to tell you we're in trouble. Elementary law should have told her that in a common-law legal system like ours, there is rebuttable presumption of innocence. We'd perpetrate more injustice if we allow sentiments to becloud our sense of reasoning. The worst of criminals deserve the best legal representation. Little wonder females were not allowed in the legal profession for a very legal time- hard as they try, emotional sentiment superimpose itself on their sense of reasoning- most times!Go over the article again. No where was it written that SANs who represents corrupt judges are going to be prosecuted. All she said was when such high profile SAN's are quick to come and defend these judges, then they are probably working in "tandem". Which is the honest truth! Her major complain was that the lawyers are so quick to point the judiciary as corrupt, but they don't point out the bad eggs even though they know them, but defend them. For the article, what I got was that she wanted to say that corrupt judged work hand in hand with corrupt lawyers. She wasn't in any way trying to go against the constitution by implying that such judge shouldn't get a defence. Read again. And you're really dumb for making such spiteful statements against female legal practitioners. You think a road side mechanic. Pompous arrogant prick! |
ogmask: You can imagin the way our judiciary is run. With this kind of mindset we can not go anywhere.I think what she means is this. Since the job of a lawyer and that of a judge go hand in hand, for a SAN to defend a corrupt judge, such SAN must have had (and will want to have) judgments delivered in his favour whether or not it's glaring that said judgments should go the other way. We a dealing with a corrupt judge here! There must be proofs of said corruption. In a situation where a corrupt judge has 6 SAN coming to defend him, there's no doubt that such SANs have profited or hope to profit (not financially though) from such judge's corruption. |
fairheven: You are too naïve! You buzzy quotin wt SANUSI said.watever he said is based on his own Reasoning, and for all u care may not be.right,of course he has to defend himsef for his ill-fated,ill-informed policies.let me throw u a posser:was Unity Bank(majority own by the north)better than those banks that SANUSI destroyed?and if indeed he came to rescue those banks,as he claimed, then the banks should be doing better now,but enter any of them, they ate just floating.Don't mind the Alien. What does he know (knew? lol). Sanusi single handedly wrecked the Nigerian Economy. He had to mint 400B to give to banks. I'm not an Economist, but even I know that that is the number 1 cause of inflation. |

School fraternities are common especially in America. Normally these fraternities have objectives which are completely legit. To me Soyinka did no wrong. The people who did are those who turned it into a blood sucking venture years after he started it. Read about the establishment of fraternities and sororities in north america en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraternities_and_sororities_in_North_America |
Really brave of these women to risk it all to save themselves. If only the chibok girls were this brave. |
Your points are not really valid. Seems since you argued pro med school, you thought it compulsory to argue against (which isn't even necessary!) Lame points! |
Is is just me or was Imelda throwing an indirect jab at Tiwa savage? |
A nursing mother once confided in me about this issue a few years ago. She said that she always gets turned on whenever she was breast feeding her baby and she suspected lot's of people were in her situation but would rather live in denial than admit it. |
Kirinwa: She disregards your instructions and challenges your authority, nko? What's with the Instructions and the authority, are you her father? |
You seem to have a great guy, I wonder where all your doubts are coming from? Igbo guys I've dated are great in the sack, but I really don't think it's as much an issue of tribe as it is the individual. You can always sample! |
TechWalker007: Op, there goes your problem and you don't seem to recognize it.There's really no justification for his wife's selfishness! We are not talking about complete strangers here! We're talking about his parents!!! Jeez! @OP, your wife is really mean! Her attitude is really horrible. If leaving her will make you happy, please do! Never make the mistake of being trapped in an unhappy marriage just for the sake of how it'll look to people if you leave. Life is too short to spend it being unhappy. Please follow your bliss. |
Enegod: Some girls like getting hit on the asss,Lot's of people of both sexes are masochists though |
Enegod: unless if she wants to be hitI wouldn't know where it pinches except I wear the shoe (which I hope never to). And yeah abuse runs in a vicious cycle as people whose father abused their mother have a higher chance of seeking (subconsciously)and ending up with abusers more than others. What every woman should know and hold close to her heart is that she's SPECIAL and doesn't deserve to be treated like dirt or a warring child. WHETHER OR NOT SHE'S A NAGGING/TROUBLESOME WOMAN. There simply should never be an excuse or justification for physical and emotional abuse. |
I'll rather you tell me if I am Titi. Hurts are better dealt with when it doesn't come as so much shock as it would be if you friend broke the news of his pending engagement. Meet up with her and tell her Bayo has been seeing someone behind her back for a while which you knew but probably thought it wasn't serious (which is the truth) and that he's planning on marrying said girl. She'll feel hurt (possibly even with you), call off the relationship herself (which will her help her heal faster) and if she's a smart girl will know it took guts for you to tell her the truth and continue being friends with you. About going to the intro, it's your call really. I'd rather you go as there is really no need crying over spilled milk. He's in love with someone else and that isn't really a crime. |
Men who beat women are spineless cowards! |
You already know the truth dude. You're just a spare tire. Leave quietly with your dignity intact. |
gerald09: Abuja a city were 80% of it population works for d Gov directly while 10% get indirect jobs from Gov contracts while d remaining 10% do regular business which dey rely on dis 90% to survive. Now gov official loot money n build house in kubwa, Asokoro n Apo. D Asokoro n Apo is meant for d rich, famous n oda Gov officials so dey put a ridiculous price, so now if all d Gov who steals money build houses and with the stupidi*ty of most thieves they all put ridiculous prices since dey all now rely on dat 20% to come n rent, the kubwa own gets full n Apo n Asokoro remains empty cos "hey I be thief u be thief y leave in ur house wen I can build my own Too". Eventually the price drops cos wen retirement come dey start selling it like a bi*tch on heat. Let face it abuja is not a business state majority rely n wait on budget n contracts. Which after dey get it they take it out side abuja n give it to another state. Wait and see the story of d Rise and Fall of d Abuja housing market. Not very comprehensible, but you do know what you're saying. There are thousands of almost empty estates (not buildings o!) In Abuja. No buyers. Sooner or later all the prices must come down. |
I could talk to her for you if you like. Get into her head and find out what she really feels about you. Before you make that move of shutting her out forever. |
I think you're the type that over thinks everything. A little spontaneity now and then isn't such a bad idea. I wouldn't want you to travel all the way to Nigeria just to tell her how you feel. A simple phone conversation will do. tell her you love her and want to be with her (not literally) and ask her if she feels the same. Her response will be all you need to decide whether you want forge ahead with the relationship or whether to let it go for good. The truth is you live your life for you. I always believe that if you genuinely love someone, people that genuinely care about you can't help but love that person too (especially when they see that the person makes you happy). Life is really too short to spend it over thinking inconsequential matters. Take that leap. P.S you don't have move away from your country or your life to take the leap. It can be the other way round. Relationships are about compromise. |
If you really like this girl (which I'm sure you do cos I've seen your first post on the same issue many months ago) You clearly haven't gotten over this lady. The mixed signals you're getting from her is probably driving you crazy. I can't really can't begin to explain the typical Nigerian girl relationship psyche to you, but I actually understand her. I think she's in love with you but having a more archaic view about relationships she can't simply tell you that. Don't keep asking all those questions as you'll never get a straight answer. Be courageous and tell her how you feel about her and what you really want. That is of course if you want to be with her. Stop trying to get into her head and take that first step. |
@Op, you should be very scared indeed. Stuffs like this actually work. I personally knew this lady (an identical twin) she and her sister were dating two friends. Her sister got engaged and later on married her then boyfriend. The lady (unmarried one) at some point moved in with her guy and they dated for another 3 years. One day, her boyfriend went to the village and came back with a wife. He asked her to pack out. She became very hysterical and swore for the guy. She lost serious weight and became ill during that period. She moved in with her sister and moved on with her life. Fast forward 5 years, and her ex came with his wife to beg her. Apparently, after 5 years of marriage the woman was unable to conceive. They pleaded with her and she forgave them. Soon after, the woman became pregnant. Curses are very powerful especially when placed from a heavy and bitter heart. So OP, you're really in serious gbese. |
I don't understand all the criticisms this woman is getting. Is Pastor Adeboye God? As far as I'm concerned, he's a celebrity. Criticisms such as he's getting is simply part of the territory. |
