topeorekoy: See what OJB posted on his twitter page-My point exactly! |
I wrote this in another thread before seeing this thread, but I still want to send my point across I really don't want to sound unsympathetic to this |
MONEY or POWER or S.EX? Now that's how the question is usually phrased. Love shouldn't even be an option in this question. This is because love as we know it is very unpredictable. Love between two people varies in different proportions. It's very rare to see two people that love each other with exactly the same intensity. 1 party may love 90% while the other has only 70% in return. I may love someone 80% and he may just have 30% in return. Other reasons are. .. 1. Love fades 2. Love fades 3 even true love fades! Fact- mostly all divorced couple today were once in love. Another fact- even most married couple still together are no longer in love. They are probably still together for mostly other reason(s). Yet another fact- the one you love now may not be the one you love tomorrow. In conclusion, love Is just another strong emotional state like depression, jealously, sadness ectera. . . That can't be confined to a time frame and shouldn't be put into this question. But if I must answer this question though, my answer will be LOVE. Yes, I'm an unrepentant romantic, an a completely unrealistic one for the matter! |
I really don't want to sound unsympathetic to this man's plight, but there's just a few nagging doubt about all this. How much has he realized out of the 16M? How much more does he need? I saw a #saveojb posters everywhere with a UBA account number of OJB. Basically for anonymous donations from well meaning nigerians and fans. I'm sure lot's of people (home and abroad) donated. How much did it all come to? P square alone donated 5M plus other celebrities donated some few millions here and there even the ones that strictly want to be anonymous about it. How much has he gotten? How much more does he still need? But no one will ever know since except for the celebrities that publicly declared, all the money goes straight the sick man's account. This looks like an opportunity OJB is trying to milk not just for getting well but in putting his life back together. He should stop playing his life as an auction and take the money he already got to start the medical procedures. It'll be a real pity if he keeps up this pity show and dies in the process. |
I don't know about anyone, but what I can clearly see in this article is justifications by the financial sector to loot us dry. |

Education is overrated. If you're done with secondary school you can face business full time! Education mostly always gives you an edge in the job market not necessarily entrepreneurship. IF YOU BELIEVE YOU CAN MAKE IT IN BUSINESS, GO RIGHT AHEAD AND DO IT. P.S- if you start this early, you can become a billionaire in your 20's. |
The lawsuit may not be unfounded if there is proof as to the disparity of his overall worth. This is because as he said, it could actually harm his business. It's almost 10billion dollars difference. That's a whole lot of difference which could affect mindset of investors (in his business) who felt he had more. |
rhowly: I remember at some point in our home the fridge had an electrical problem and my mum got shocked. After that day instead of repairing the fridge, she made sure never to open it...even wen we outside the house she would call. "wat about that backyard I told u to clean" my response...."mummy I did that yesterday" and she already knew....only to ask "eh oya give me water from the fridge".lol ![]() |
Sexy! Hypocrites shut the f@ck up. |
Just as ba7man said. You don't need too much talk to get a fling. Don't toast a babe for a fling. Don't even get to know anything about her past her name. And more importantly, look for likeminded people. You can find them in a club or other hang-out zones. |
ogugua88: No. I'm convinced that whatever knowledge Nigerians have of the US, especially in the village, is that people go abroad and pick money from money trees. A very bad preconceived notion of "everyone who is abroad is wealthy". I'll speak for myself. When we went home, our relatives, particularly those in the village, literally folded their hands and made us do and pay for everything. No hospitality; we stayed in a hotel. There was never any food. If we were lucky, we'd eat twice a day: breakfast at the hotel, and then a snack very late at night, at the hotel. If there was food at my grandfather's compound, it was paid for by my parents and prepared by us. Anything and everything, they demanded that we pay for it. The only person that had her arms open for us was my dad's distant cousin. His siblings got jealous, put their heads together and got four chickens for us to use to cook ofe akwu.Lol. The Nigerians in diaspora who visit the country during festive seasons are the one that spoilt it for you. They way they flash dollars and want to live up to the image that American dollars grow on trees, who's to say people won't milk it. Since they heard from the been-tos that America is the land flowing with milk and honey, who's to say they won't want to enjoy a little of that. ![]() |
But if you had the opportunity to run to the U.S or U.K would you not do it? most Nigerians were saying the smae thing before the got visas....
Really? If I wanted to migrate to any country of my choice many years ago, I would have. I don't want that. I don't see it as any opportunity, rather, I see it as enslavement. My opportunity is here and I'm living the dream sweetie. I travel frequently for leisure or business |
The truth is, those Nigerians that migrate to other country because they want a more quality life are the very reason we will never develop. The oyinbo's that made the west what it is today did not flee their country when it was bad and torn up in wars and other terrible things. Rather they built their country to what they wanted it to be. What we have here now is folks that run at the first sight of trouble. London people developed london, Nigerian people, develop your own country! |
userlist: If you guys are so good back how comeAre you a Nigerian or not? If you are, whether or not you live in another country, my problem is your problem. My cross is your cross. You can run away for ever, but your identity is your identity. It's not a you against them situation. You are a Nigerian |
If everyone were to run away from Nigeria because of that basic amenity enjoyed by the west which we lack, there would be no Nigeria. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. . . The fact you thumb your nose at Nigeria from the outside doesn't make you a less or more Nigerian than I am. Most people in my social circle travel to any country of their choice every other week, but no one chooses to stay permanently but always return to base. Shebi we've tasted the good life, why ain't we hooked. I can't help it. I love Nigeria so much I'm always home sick when I'm away from here for even a week. |
Eko Ile: Is my personal orientation the people you voted for, elected and appointed to run your country? All I'm just trying to say is we all are toothless bulldog, all bark and no bite. Why didn't we see through the facade of these thieving politicians before electing them into office. when they were doling out loads of money for votes, we turned a blind eye to it all and maybe even collected and called him 'our saviour' As I said earlier, this government official are just the reflection of the average man on the street. Post all the pictures you want, go stark raving mad in anger, NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE except we start a grass root change. |
Ridiculous thread! Ridiculous poster! Ridiculous commenters! What I hate above every other thing here in Nairaland is ridiculous threads like this that almost always make the front page. Thread that just aim at robbing Nigeria of the little dignity it has left. If Oyinbo castigates Nigeria, you mumu son of the soil will also castigate. This is always spare headed by those diaspora Nigerians that want to use every opportunity to justify their migration to other lands. Change policies my A**! Who is fooling who? Who is the government? Are they not Nigerians? Can you honestly say you would be different when you get up there to the helm of affairs. How has any of you running your mouths here tried in you own little way to make a change around you. Have any of you engaged in community service just because we believe in the bigger picture? Spend our saturdays sweeping streets as volunteers? Doing good just for the sake of it! We don't do that! Only come to public forums and whine about government and their policies! Like you'll do better when you are in power. Charity begins at home. The mindset of the average Nigerian is the mindset of the government. That change we so seek starts with me and you. Till we change our personal orientation, we will be stuck In this rut till eternity! Phewwwww!!! I'm exhausted! I'll be back. |
Sudan, Ethiopia, and Uganda are arguably more developed than Nigeria as well....
Well, you're a Nigerian, and if you think the country is one big rot, if you like live in mars you are part of that rot bro. |
If you get a raggaetone influence on a particular track on a song, will it be said that you stole the latino music? If you rap, will it be said you stole the AA's style of music? Nobody is stealing from anyone! No one has sole rights to style of musics. You can literally sing anything you want and whether or not it'll be successful depends very much on the demand/market for that kind of music. Creativity is when you make something pleasing to the ear no matter where you get the influences. So all those screaming that making ghana styled music by our artists is them being unoriginal should take a blind leap. |
7: Coming soon. I pray the 7th be the choosen one.
Hope so o! |
Amya: Scared to love again. So scared to be caught in the loop of a vicious cycle. dmcdad: What are you scared of if I may ask?Just what it means. Putting myself, my emotions and mental well being out there is just too much of a risk. |
5. 1. Was a psychopath. Still surprised he hasn't found me and hacked be to pieces cos I ran away from him. 2. Fell in love with another girl and broke my heart. 3. Never trusted me even though I was faithful to him. had to let him go. 4. Super rich dude who felt he was licensed to cheat. Dumped his ass. 5. Older dude who was a control freak and condescending. Felt so much like a glorified maid in the relationship. Now, 6 is my soulmate, but I doubt if it will work as we are both at different places emotionally. |
