APC will be making a mistake by picking two muslims as pres and vice. The best candidates for the coalition now are Okorocha, Ngige and Utomi. Regarding Soludo, he belongs to the ruling party and has to fight for his ticket under PDP. |
@THE OP, DO YOU MEAN ETHNIC GROUPS OR TRIBES?.UNDER TRIBES, YORUBA AND IGBO SHOULD PRODUCE ABOUT 60 TRIBES SUCH AS IJEBU, NGWA, NNEWI, EKITI, IJESHA, NSUKKA, OYO, OWERRI ETC. |
RIP |
I WILL GO FOR THIS: 433 ENYEAMA 2.OMERUO, UWANTA ECHIEJILE, OBOABONA, APAM. MIDDLE: MICHAEL OBI, SUNDAY MBA, JOEL OBI. FORWARD: OSAZE, EMENIKE, MOSES. |
I learnt he is Bayern Lev'sn bound. |
^^^What a brainless post above. My Ihitte-Uboma people have Nnoko Etiti, Mbaise people have Ezumezu Mbaise etc. It is as such all over Igboland. So Ogu IKa doesn't make any difference. |
Malawian: i thought these two were igbos all along. how come they have igbo names?Uwa Echiejile is Igbo while Enyeama is Ibibio. Echiejile, Chiejine, Echiejine all mean the same thing. Echiejile in English means let 2morrow not come to an end. The actual meaning is let the world continue. |
bokohalal: It is not. Thompson Oliha (De boy) is a proper Edo from the family that is the head of the Uzama n Ihinron.Oliha--Edo. Ekoku--Delta Igbo. His father was a founding member of Onu Anioma and Ohanaeze in the U.K OLISEH: Delta Igbo and proud Igbo. His mother plays an active role in Ohanaeze women's wing Lagos chapter. Okocha a proud Igbo and from the same community as Okonjo and Uwechue-prominent Ohanaeze chieftains. Nduka-though Igbo, but I don't know much about him. Okechukwu Keshi, from Oshimili in Delta state. The same community that produced some of Biafra's best fighters, Nwawo, Achuzia, Onwuatuegwu etc. |
Andre Uweh: Ogomegbunam--Let my visitors or those that benefit from me not harm me.More Isinweke names: Geria-listen carefully. Akuruoyo-Let wealth come home. Iweha-Let anger depart. Woyokoruwa- ancestor that has reincarnated into the family/world. Iheanaetu--What we want. Obiyo- mind is at rest. Wanjajaagu-a little brave lion. Nduwuaku--life is wealth. |
coolest0: Wetin you wan use that guy twit do, to be frank en, that guy for no wish make super eagle win o, so that nigerian go blame keshi for not taking him, but we thank God oBiko, do not say that. Osaze is not like that. |
Rossikk: So why no tweet to express his happiness? He normally uses twitter to express his feelings. He has been warned about tweeter comments. |
There is always power in a name. So Nigerian parents should be careful on names they give their children. Sunday was definitely born on a sunday. |
Osaze is still part of the team. He was on paternity leave and as a result could not travel to S.A for the tournament. Osaze will be happy with this great victory just like me. |
India has never at any time been banned from Football. The no 1 sport in India is not football, so they do not pay more attention to football. India actually played in the last Asian football nations cup. |
Kiwi, nice to have you back. |
bokohalal: Sometime ago it was 90%. You have to be sure the so called South south person agree to the 'Igbo' label. No unnecessary claiming allowed. There are so many south south players in the eagles team but no one has claimed them to be Igbo. E.g Enyeama, Ideye, Efe, Ogude, Igiebor, Moses, Oboboana etc. We know those who are Igbo and those who are not Igbo. Most south south Igbo players do not deny being Igbo. Okocha, Chidi Odia, Oliseh, Agali, Keshi, Ekoku, Okosieme, etc are all proud Igbo people. |
alanmwene: It seems lost in the pages of history!Local champions?Your history knowledge is shallow if you have not heard or read about Nri. |
Abagworo: Its Nsude and not Nsugbe..Thanks. |
Rossikk: Well said Andre. Did you notice the Nsude pyramids bear a resemblance to the Step Pyrramid in Saqqara Egypt? Thanks my dear. The problem with most people here is that they are not well read. Imagine, one chap asking what Igbo achieved in their history. When I narrated to him what we achieved within 3 years of our nation, then he changed tactics. |
alanmwene: I was thinking of something like songhai, mali, kongo, great zimbabwe!Dyu see what I mean? The Igbo had a kingdom which existed even before some of the empires you mentioned . It is called Nri Kingdom founded aroud 900AD. They were also involved in architecture as they built pyramids and great walls. Visit Nsugbe in Igboland and see for yourself. |
Akin-Egba:Akin, where have you been since?, wow, really missed your educative posts. Nice to note you are back. |
alanmwene: Being from kongo,I dont know that much about igbos! I just want to know what did they achieved in their history? The Igbo history is so vast and but let me tell you just a little about 1967--70. During this dark period of her history, she had her own republic where they manufactured indigenous amunitions that killed their enemies more than the imported ones. The built indigenous bridges that stands taste of time till date. They went into agriculture on a very large scale that sustained the nation for 2 years w before the area was lost to the enemies. Despite being at war, law and order was maintained. Had indigenous textile factories that manufactured shoes, hats and wears for the entire nation. Had refineries that produced petrol from local resources. Had a good maintenance department that ensured that buildings, cars, roads etc were maintained. They were all maintained and serviced during the short lived republic. In sports, some of the best known African sportsmen were of Igbo origin during the period in discussion. For example, Power mike, a famous wrestler,D.K Tiger, famous boxer, Emma Ifeajuna-commonwealth games gold medalists etc. Some of the the brightest intellectuals in Africa during the period were also of Igbo origin. For example, Chinua Achebe, Onuora Nzekwu, John Munonye, Emeka Ike, Michael Crowder, Christopher Okigbo, Chike Obi, Flora Nwapa, Cyprian Ekwensi, Prof Uzoigwe, Afigbo, Njoku, Dike, Louis Mbanefo., Gordian Ezekwe etc. Some of Africa's best graduates from Sandhurst and other military accademies were of Igbo origin. E.g Col Okwechime, Col Madiebo, Col Njoku, Col Okoro, Major Akanya, Wing Commander Ezeilo, Col Amadi, Navy Commander Anukwu, Col Onwuatuegwu etc. Check out their results. Mind you, I have only discussed a period of 3 years. WHAT WOULD YOU LEARN IF I EXTEND IT TO 30 YEARS?. |
bokohalal: Igbos make up about 35% of the Super Eagles.94 AND 2013 squads are 55% Igbo from south east and south south. |
Afam4eva: Onitsha not having an airport has little to do with injustice but more to do with the fact that it has never been a capital city. It's unfortunate that airports are cited in state capitals ahead of commercial cities.Onitsha does not need an airport at all. Asaba airport is also Onitsha airport. What Onitsha needs is an operational Riverport. Also, an airport for Aba is a waste of fund. Aba is surrounded by Port Harcourt, Owerri and Uyo airports. |
Tolexander: What tribe is palli(118) and pulani(119)? Guess the OP meant falli and fulani respectively!Ekiti, Owoh, Ede, Offa, egba are yoruba dialects and not a tribe. They are similar to Nnewi, Mbaise, Owerri etc I mentioned. All these groups are not complaining so I don't see any reason why one Ngwa chap is complaining. |
ChinenyeN: That list is poorly done. Where is Ngwa? There is no ngwa so also, there is no Mbaise, Owerri, Nnewi, Umuahia, Udi, Ekiti, Owoh, Ede, Offa, egba etc. They are not complaning. |
ow11: Some people can be foolish shaVictor Moses is from Edo state. |
Keshi is from Ilah in Oshimili North LGA. Not Olukumi. Akpoborie is not Yoruba. Whatever the case, what matters is winning, ethnicity is irrelevant. In 1985, Sebastin Imasuen Brodericks selected mostly boys from his home state at the under 17 youth championship in China and they won. What matters is winning. |
agabaI23: He coached Togo and Mali which are both francophone countries. I was pleasantly surprised initially. I am impressed though. He also played in French speaking countries e.g Ivory Coast, Belgium and France. |
elampiro: Just saw your profile name, are you the Andrew Uweh that played for Green Eagles?Noops, we both share the same first name. My own Uwe is actually DIKAUWE. |
elampiro: OK, I am sure you get my point. People are too impatient and are quickly to refer to 1994 Eagles. It was built over time. Lest I forget, Westerhof needed just a draw in Cameroun to win the group at the time. We lost and Nigeria kept faith. By 1994, we had only Yekini, Keshi, Okafor and Oliha surviving from the old Eagles.I AGREE WITH YOU. KESHI SHOULD BE ASKED TO STAY ON |
elampiro: Why must we complain even when we are blessed or have succeeded? It took Westerhof 4 years to get Amuneke and Finidi to play the kind of football they played between 1993 and 1994. Westerhof came to Nigeria in 1989 and met the Eagles led by Henry Nwosu. We had Etim Esin and co. Westerhof could not win against Cameroun at away to top the group in the world cup qualifying match at away. Nigeria went out. Then the next year, he took his Eagles to Algiers '90 nation's cup, he finished second even though he had lost his first match 1-5 to Algeria. Between 1990 and 1993, he brought Uche Okechukwu, Ben Iroha, Finidi George, Amuneke, Mutiu Adepoju, Dan Amokachie, and some others. By 1993, the likes of Etim Esin, Andrew Uwe, Yisa Sofoluwe, Richard Owubokiri, etc, were no longer needed. Before nation cup '94 Sunday Oliseh was discovered, also is Mike Emenalo. Nigeria won the nations cup, then Chidi Nwanu was included in the defence for the world cup. Also just few days to the world cup, Nduka Ugbade was considered not good enough to make the 23 man team, I think Victor Ikpeba was included in the last minute.Mike Emenalo before then had featured for the Green Eagles team led by Onigbinde in 1984 nations cup in Ivory Coast. Emenalo and his eagles team mate from Rangers-Chibuzo Ehilegbu left Nigeria to go and study in the U.S. |
