I find it very hard to believe that a Hausa man will have enough freedom to do that sort of thing in an Igbo land.
Regardless of the fact that Aba is relatively a cosmopolitan city due to its penchant for trading, it is also a very "indigenised" town.
That is, the "igboness" cannot be mistaken.
A Hausa man will find it almost impossible to "secure" a spot in an IGBO VILLAGE and be allowed to carry out these acts with the full support of the "host" villagers.

Anyone pointing to the fact that these animals may not be Igbo should think again!

The villagers around are all aware of what's going on and I can bet my last kobo that the community leaders are being "settled" by these bad boys.
So tell me how possible it is for these kidnappers to be non-Igbos. . .

When the Niger delta boys were on their kidnap spree in Portharcourt, we atleast had an idea of what to expect.

I think we have loads of educated illiterates in Nigeria. How can someone come here and say Awolowo was the best leader Nigeria ever had and expect no static. As an Igbo man, i respect what Awolowo did for his Yoruba people even though he did it at the detriment of others. It's ok to say he's the best regional leader Nigeria has ever produced but to say he had no equal is insanity and a grave insult to the great nationalistic leaders this country has produced. It's just ike the Jihads telling us that Osama is the best leader ever. To them he is but to us he's no more than a freaking terrorist. That the same way the Igbos see Awolowo and you can't fault them for that Just the same way you can't fault yorubas for hating on Ojukwu. Let's behave like people with at least a secondary school Cert for once.

during omugwo, the person that comes to do the omugwo takes over MOST of the house hold chores and responsibilities.
cooking (for both husband and wife), cleaning, carrying the baby while the new mum rests, from my side, at night, the new mum actually sleeps while her mum or whoever is there for omugwo stays awake with the baby,

Pls there is a lot to it, every new mother looks forward to someone close to her to come for her omugwo.

@indie22, if someone comes to spend a month with u for holiday, its only a nigerian tradition that u buy that person something to go back home with not to talk of someone that came to labour for u for omugwo. i dont think its right to let the person go empty handed + women NEVER go for omugwo empty handed,
They go with all sorts of food stuffs.

am not of the school of thot that u shld spend your 1 month salary on her gift, but at least show appreciation with a gift. its the tot behind that mtters not the gift itself

The Fulanis I have seen were from other West African countries though. Only seen 1 Nigerian Fulani

But the Fulani in other countries are gorgeous.
