Not all Ndigbo engage in the same sort of BLIND WORSHIP you see portrayed here on Nairaland and in most of Nigeria. Some Nigerians are actually capable of thinking for themselves.

The poster has a point, even though you might disagree with the manner in which he makes his point. In truth considering the high esteem with which Kanu is held by the average Super Eagles fan, one would expect his records, achievements and performances for the senior national team would be better than they actually are. No doubt we love his skills and ingenuity, but his overall performance and contribution to the senior national team does not correlate with the image and plaudits many given him. Example, A while back it was brought up that Kanu has not scored a single nations cup goal despite having made 6 appearances. Many fans claimed he was just unlucky, and how that is not a reason to question his contribution. Okay, but these same fans will descend on the likes of Yakubu e.t.c at every failing. It seems that Kanu is generally given more room for error by Nigerian fans, particularly when one considers that he is a striker. That is not to say he isn't a good player who has made a solid contribution to Nigerian football and society (e.g Kanu Heart Foundation).
THE POSTER HAS SOME VALUABLE POINTS THOUGH, BUT HIS STUPENDOUS POST IS FULL OF ISSUES THAT HAS BEEN DISCUSSED SEVERAL TIMES ON THIS FORUM. YET COMMENTATORS BEFORE THIS LITTLE FRY DID NOT CALL KANU AN IDIOT.

i called him an idiot because he acts like one. the old geezer knows that he is not going to contribute anything positive for nigeria in this world cup, then please why not give his place to ike uche or anichebe instead the fool wants to disgrace us at world cup. even nff said that had it been lagerback dropped kanu they would have taken him. this is typical naija mentality young shall not grow. andre uweh you are a born fool for supporting kanu
The ugly duckling, it is not about supporting Kanu or not but your outright stupidity of calling him an idiot. Go and play with your fellow apes as you have got nothing meaningful to post here, Viewer.

let this lageridiot get the hell out of here ohhh. without martins there would have been no world cup for nigeria so this swedish guy should stop joking.
I can remember clearly that Zola's goal against England in a crucial w/c qualifier at Wembly in 1997. Italy won the match 1nil yet Zlola was dropped from the France 98 squad.
Nevertherless, you must not be unsultive to get your message across.

andre uweh just accept it, why would a big club like arsenal let kanu go for free when he was 27, lets get nothing twisted i did not say kanu is a bad player, he was world class but from 2004 till 2010 kanus has been useless am definetly not fooled by 1 world class performance in 20 games thats just too poor
I have read your post, and everything is well understood. My problem with you is your foul language on Kanu. Remember you wrote that he is an idiot. Why?.
SportsRe: Kanu Nwankwo Tremendous Overrated by AndreUweh(m): 12:17pm On Jun 04, 2010
@Poster: I really understand you have health issues. Kanu's West Brom survived relegation on the last day of the league courtesy of Richardson's goal. The following season, the club was relegated and by then, Kanu was already at Portsmouth. Not only is your cranium filled with maggots, your carotid arteries are filled up with maggotic plagues thereby making your blood and brains to be demented.
SportsRe: Kanu Nwankwo Tremendous Overrated by AndreUweh(m): 11:42pm On Jun 03, 2010
@the poster and his nonsensical post. In stead of this character assassination, you would have approached Kanu in a more respectful way for your mother's medical bill. He has done it before but not in this manner. Poor boy, the most thing to happen to you here is to apologise to Nigeria's captain. Common, swallow pride and do that speedily.

EvERYDAY hERE people talk about how overrated mikel is but in real life nobody rates mikel so he is not overrated. but the most overrated nigerian player ever is Kanu. first of all let me say this kanu is not a bad player. the way nigerians rate kanu is just too much, the amount of respect that kanu gets from nigerians is too much, lets clear the air first, kanu is not the most decorated player in africa it is etoo, there is no douth that kanu was good in 1996 but since 2004 till 2010 the guy has been totally useless just look at his goal records

1996–1999 Internazionale 12 (1)
1999–2004 Arsenal 119 (30)
2004–2006 West Bromwich Albion 53 (7)
2006– Portsmouth 101 (17)

for a striker that nigerians loves too much his record is just too poor the guy has played for nigeria from 1994 till 2010 and he has scored only 13 goals and 7 assists in 16 years playing for nigeria, the guy has been relegated twice he scored only 17 goals in 101 games for posmouth. what kind of overrated player is that even when arsenal did a poll to ask "arsenal greatest 50" do you know what happened nigerians hasve a big arsenal fan base all of us voted for kanu then he came 13th we made it seem like if he actually deserved that position in truth it was just nigerians like me that voted for him that high. even english arsenal fans don't rate him that high. how can nigeria just give him too much respect just because of what he did in atlanta 14 years ago other than that kanu have not done poo. he has gone for 6 nations cup and have scored 0 goal, he has gone for 2 world cup and all he did was miss 1on1 with denmark goalkeeper and be useless in the one in 2002. i remember prior to 2006 world cup qualifies how he kept on missing matches on purpose at the end of the day we did not qualify instead of the idiot to retire like okocha he stays. one of the most annoying thing i have heard on this forum is when someone open a thread called "should kanu go to world cup" the response was mad irritating people were saying that we should just take him asaying he has lucky charm, he is experienced and the most annoying ever was the one they said 'we should honour him because of what he has done for us in the past. for all these reason i think kanu is the most overrated nigerian footballer ever he is not a bad player, he was world class 14years ago but since 2004 to 2010 the guy has been useless and should not be taken to world cup, not even as an ambassardor or even as a player he deserves to be dropped. if players like segun odegbami, muda lawal did not retire there might have not been a kanu so old fool kanu please retire now.
What a load of rubbish!.
SportsRe: Kanu Nwankwo Tremendous Overrated by AndreUweh(m): 10:47pm On Jun 03, 2010
@The poster: Kanu has never been relegated twice. Prove me wrong. Why not allow Kanu some space to rest regardless of the fact that Kanu can afford you 500 times.
PoliticsRe: Igbo: A People In Search Of A Leader: Further Commentary by AndreUweh(m): 9:56pm On Jun 03, 2010
The Yoruba has a large population in Nigeria. I think they are at par with Ndigbo. Not too sure about the Hausa-Fulani. If only the Hausa, I think they are a little bit less than the other two.

PoliticsRe: We Should All Thank Taiwo Akinwumi For Our Flag by AndreUweh(m): 4:50pm On Jun 03, 2010
Those Nigerians who are not proud of Nigerian flag should be withdrawn from the national teams. None of the Nigerians who won laurels for their respective clubs celebrated with Nigerian flags while others did with their national flags. Michael Obi hardly celebrates with Nigerian flags while Ivoriens and Ghanians do. This is just one sample.

Is it true that when the mother-in-law is going back home after the omugwo, the husband has to give her somethings as parting gifts?

I'm only asking because it caused a huge row between my friend and her hubby, after her hubby did not buy anything for her mum when she was leaving them to go back.
Strange indeed. Not sure if it is an Igbo family.

After he flopped in the previous 2
Did he actually flopped. In 1998, he played only one match and that was against Paraguay. Though, he played from mid-field position, yet he did well. 2002, he was simply injured in the first match against Argentina. That led to Nigeria's early exit.
By miles, not a flop.
SportsRe: Should Anichebe Regret Putting His Fatherland First? by AndreUweh(m): 12:20pm On Jun 02, 2010
But the NFF did not say he was dropped because he did not raise his game. Rather, that he was injured. Nigerians demand honesty from them.

To say that i am delighted to type and/or post this, is to say the obvious and conspicuous, i have equally read all the comments that exhaled from the thread wanting to know if i was sacked. . . so i decided to create this, so all issues of non-conformity could be laid to rest. . .

It is with mixed emotions that I post this. As some of you know, I have accepted a position at programing section. It was not an easy decision to make because I truly enjoyed working with all of you here at the  Politics section.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to my friends and colleagues. I have learned a great deal from you and will miss the maps, hardcore political verbal objurgo and tribal bashing. It has been a great pleasure exercising my moderating mechanism in this section.

I would like to say that the incommodus garrulitas that occurred between Sam and I has nothing to do with this, as the said person is a decision feather-weight at the forum.

I have decided to be more recusant rather than being recumbent,  to be more quixotic rather than being laisser-faire- to challenge my moderating mechanism the more rather than relapsing into a cocoon of narcissisms

It is thanks to men and women who were totally active at the  politics section and  committed to ending the saga in the Nigeria political nequitia nequities,  people like Beaf, Bluetooth, kobojukie, Oam4j, TheAmaka, becomerich cheesy and how could i forget my greatest rival - ElRazur [ i learnt alot form that dude] and others too numerous to mention,  that the horrors of the in-fighting and of total war are part of Humanity history and not Humanity present. So on behalf of  my formal co-mod, and all those who talked freely thanks to their discussions,  I am very proud to say: Incabiquious regetelete.  You all were wonderful.

I would also ask that you guys give aish2 all the support that she may need, she is actually one of my respected mods in Nairaland. . .

My appreciation also goes to the supreme commander of Nairaland for the opportunity to serve.

My time here was  fructus fructus and anit malus peior pessimus. Thank you for all the support, insights, and help you have provided me over the past months.

Thanks again for everything.

Best wishes to you all

Sincerely,

Kosovo
So, would you at this time let us know the whereabouts of mr Crackles?.
