Let's hope this will be the last best poster of the year poll. The whole exercise has always been a joke. Imagine Becomerich winning it ahead of Jakumo and Mikeansy that year. How about Beaf who clearly was the best poster last year?. This year, just like lasy year, the best poster was denied the right to be voted for. I call for an end to this poll. |
@Jarus and co mod, please accept Mazi Osewa's apology and let all that has happened to be confined to history. As you do that, please respect Mazi Osewa's wish for that thread to be deleted. Please delete it now. |

Seun: Dear Jarus & OAM4J,It shall be well with you. Jarus is so much adored and cherished by all. I pray he accepts the apology and make a u-turn. Whatever the case may be, am available to serve this great forum of ours. Merry Christmas. |
tomakint: Another gospel truth from my 'berem'Merry christmas my champion. |
Jarus has done nairaland good than harm. It is very unfortunate he has resigned. I wish we can persuade him to change his mind. @Seun, give Jarus a second chance if he comes back, but if he doesn't, then I hereby use this opportunity to make myself available as a moderator in this section. |
Baby mama: And the best response from the henemies is on NairalandMost of the who chat crap here have not read the memoir. Their attitude is very nonsensical. |
What Prof Achebe published recently was just a memoir-his personal account of what he saw juring the war. He hasn't written a book about the war. Anyway, just wait for Col Achuzia's publication coming out soon. |
Very poor turn out this year. Last year, Gbawe 107 votes, Onlytruth 103 and Katsumoto 36 votes. Mods, though the polls here have never produced the real poster of the years gone, but the incessant disqualifications is not good for a healthy poll From the 4th quarter of this year, I think the best poster of 2013 will be between Obinoscopy, Afam, Tomakint and Naptu. |
^^^I say no to that rubbish above. |
careytommy: This new claim simply boils down money (oil royalties) why are they just finding their voice? Can you tell me or post any source where an Ngwa man is saying that he is not Igbo?. All this idiotic lies about Ngwas has to stop now. |
Alex Ekwueme wasn't corrupt during his reign as second in command to Shagari. He came out poorer from that post compared to his wealth before he became VP. |
zyxxx: When one gets to a certain age, I think ts just normal you begin to ask why it happened? what was the incentive? What is the expected result to that action? I like Prof as a I wud to •̸ϞƔ fellow Nigerian. Bur as an adult, one must wonder why did he produce such a book? Is it to promote peace? Or to promote war? Right nw, wen peeps r screaming secession, is this somthing he should do @ such a sensitive time. We shud ask, what reaction does Prof Chinua Achebe rili want by producing such a book?......What an idiotic question you are asking here. That an elder published his memoirs of a war he witnessed is now a crime. What Prof Achebe recently published was his own reflective account of what he saw during the war. Pick up your pen and write your own memoirs, or are you too lazy to write?. In his memoirs, he wrote about his best friend-Okigbo the poet who was felled by the bullets, his mum also died during the war etc. Everything Prof Achebe wrote was the truth. Know it now. |
tomakint: I have more than 1 thousand good things to say about my race (the Yorubas) if the atmosphere permit me, but all the while I maintained my 'guest status' before I became a member of Nairaland and the rate at which 'tribal warfare' was going on then really made me felt discouraged to join, but when I took the courage to do so, I decided to lay the truth as I see it. I am not against my people is just that what we condemned the Igbos of doing (ritual killings, armed robberies, kidnapping and other vices) we also do if in doubt pick the weekly Yoruba magazine; Akede, Alaroye etc So, my point is why try to remove the plank in the eyes of other while the log in your own eyes is not removed. My point!May the peace of our Lord be with you. |
dayokanu: You are against chronic bigots? that means you are against yourselfNa Unibadan me graduate from ooh. Nothing concern me with great Ife. Though I respect great Ife as well as UNN. |
dayokanu: You wan sacrifice tomakint aka Andre uweh to his Idemili gods?May the spirits in Ogbomosho turn your brains into foolishness. Tomakint is a detribalised Yoruba. Why is this sort of thing strange to you?, nawiriwede. |
The champions league should be coming to Western Germany this time around. |
fynewaka: Welcome to thursday night football.Thursday night football affords us the opportunity to scout for talents to sign during the summer. |

1. I do enjoy drinking water from the clay pots in some households in the village. 2. I enjoy Oil bean (Ugba) gathering. This practice is almost dead now because of development. It's a pity most Ugba trees have given way for electric poles and other developments. I enjoy Igba Okii (thatch making). Again, most of those houses which I reroof with the thach I make are gone. I don't know if this is good or bad. I enjoy cutting grasses and leaves and palm fronds for domestic animals. I enjoy drinking locally made anti malaria herb drinks popularly called Ogwu Iba. I enjoy making baskets with palm fronds as well as brooms for house sweeeping. I also enjoy going to the bushes to gather mushrooms popularly called Ero. But those bushes are groing thin daily because of urbanisation. I also enjoy making bird cages with palm fronds. But those birds that are attracted by the maize grown around my village have disappeared for ages. |
@FBS, d. Luiz has played more as a central defender than a midfielder. No need pushing him to the midfield. He should learn to defend properly and should stop running forward all the time. |
For those interested in Iwa Akwa, see photographs of the last Iwa Akwa in my community. It is a popular practice of the people of Obowu, Ehime Mbano, Nsu, Umunumu, Uboma and Ihitte Etiti. You are welcomed to this period's event. Dec-Jan depending on individual community.

Prof Chinua Achebe is like the great Obeche or Iroko tree that is unshakeable as far as the literary world is concerned!
