app_lord: Can't stop laughing.
Was torres banging in goals when he joined CFC, and then all of a sudden hit his drought ? Wasnt it a 14 game run before he manged to bury the ball inside the net? And then a time-line of false hope of picking form?
CFC fans adored, loved & supported torres even in goal-drought, fella !!! , until he proved beyond reasonable doubt this season that he is now a £50 m dud.
So... Was has ba done wrong ? Scoring a brace in his debut, Brilliant postioning, winning the ball in the air, holding on to the ball, not dribbling himself, not loosing the ball cheaply, being a striker, et. cetera et. cetera ?
Hmmmmmn! Interesting so, we would turn our back @ demba ba while he is already justifying a meagre £ 7 m. Hahahahhahahahahahahahhaha. A drought would be the fault of MAZACAR and not a well rounded striker.
Your 'Torres & Chance' theory has failed, but D Ba wouldn't at chelsea. Quote me!
So get that, you Football Nobody. Keep acting like you know jack about footie.

He was sent to kirikiri (under prison custody) while the tribunal carried out it's probe but Shagari was put under house arrest. Even the judicial tribunal set up by Buhari that probed Ekwueme after the coup publicly declared, "Dr. Ekwueme left office poorer than he was when he entered it, and to ask more from him was to set a standard which even saints could not meet." Mazi Jarus has done a good job. He never entertained partiality and very current in Nigerian political issues. Outside Nairaland, am sure he will make a good leader. It shall be well with him. But in his place, we have Afam, a nairalander to the core. Am sure he will do a great job. Afam is nairaland and nairaland is Afam. For he so much love nairaland that he has put aside all the xmas engagements in the village for the promotion of nairaland. At the moment, there is no better person to be a mod in the politics section apart from Afam. This is a move in the right direction from Mazi Seun. @ Mazi Afam, May God bless the day you were made a moderator of politics section. May the peace of our Lord be with you, Seun and nairaland moderators. |

Berbatov, SantaCruz, Demba Ba, all mediocre in the Bundesliga suddenly became household names in the EPL
EPL is a league for mediocre players Aguero, Silva and Mata were household names in Spain before they joined the premiership. Apart from Ronaldo, Messi, Xavi and Iniesta, they were the most thing to happen to La liga while they played there. Berbatov was a hit with spurs-an average team. Santa cruz-a hit with Blackburn- a botton 6 team and Ba has done alright. How about Robben that has turned Bundesliga upside down compared to his premiership years. How about Ballack who was a hit in Germany but could not flourish in the premiership?. |

ChinenyeN: We are all familiar with "Igbo amaghi eze", and we know exactly what it means. Igbo lacks polity. The Igbo consciousness does not include any centralized institutions of any kind nor a shared sense of state. Simply put, Igbo simply does not exemplify the qualities of a nation. Its socio-political consciousness is virtually null.
Igbo can only really be called an ethnic group of sorts, because its socio-cultural awareness is established. Objection. To the best of my knowledge, with the formation of the Igbo Town Union in the 1930s, there emerged Igbo socio-political consiousness. This association, though a cultural setup, arosed the political consciousness of Ndigbo. Then the NCNC expanded it in the 1940's. It is wrong to deny this fact. There might not have been Igbo socio-political consciousness before the 1930's but to say Igbo socio-political consciousness is non existent is a huge lie. |
Politics › Re: Why Igbo Will Not Win Presidency In 2015 by AndreUweh(m): 9:25pm On Dec 27, 2012 |
Dudu_Negro: thank you my brother on the last sentence. This is about "who will not move Nigeria forward".
National politics is about compromises, unfortunately Igbo believes in individual honor.
The best tactical organization of any assault unit in the world is the American Special Operations and specifically the Navy SEAL. They recognize the gains of team and compromise above the pride of individual honor.
Igbo has yet to move away from its old brand, the same mindset with which in position of power they gradually introduced all sorts of evil plots and schemes which the young Nigerian sovereignty had not anticipated. Have they stopped advocating Biafra? No! Have they stopped their aspiration to occupy and control other people land, No! Have they stopped their ambition to seek revenge and payback on the war? No!
There are many issues too much to even share here my brother. Until they re-brand, Igbo is the wrong stock to lead Nigeria. Taking pain killers for another person's pain. Dude, Ndigbo do not care whether they rule Nigeria or not and as a matter of fact has not taking the issue of Igbo presidency very seriously. What Ndigbo want in Nigeria is peace and not Boko Haraming. Ndigbo want justice equity and fairness in Nigeria. To hell with your presidency. |

Rocktation: Or how was the igbo group even formed? Let me learn something today. How else could it would have been formed if not the same way Hausa and Yoruba was formed. Or the say way Germans and Italians formed their nations in the late 17th century. Groups who speak similar dialects or languages. Within those groups especially Yoruba and Hausa, one can be Ekiti and at the same time Yoruba, one can also be Katsina and at the same time Hausa. So why should it be a problem for one to be Ukwuani and Igbo at the same time. Where is this insanity from?. |

Culture › Re: Igbo Ethnic Group And Nation: The Confusion Between The Two by AndreUweh(m): 8:19pm On Dec 27, 2012 |
ChinenyeN: They aren't.
Put simply, an ethnic group is a socio-cultural awareness, and a nation is a socio-political consciousness. At best, Igbo can really only be called an ethnic group of sorts, and Igbo's socio-political consciousness is negligible; virtually inexistent. Please explain to readers here how Igbo socio-political consciousness is virtually inexistent. |

Jarus: Now you are taking your modship campaign too far.
Was the 2009 poll officially recognized? The then mod did a shabby exercise and Nairaland senior management rightly overruled it. That was why we came up with ban rule and quality posts rule to prevent the likes of Becomrich from emerging. So how can you use 2009 exercise as a reference.
And this year, can you name another poster that added more value to this section than Katz? This was someone whose performance at the October debate was well applauded and also did well as moderator of November dialogue. Yes, he also engaged in tribal fights, but tell me who among the top posters didnt, including your candidate, your tribesman.
The sectional award has come to stay. There is nothing anybody can do about it. Not even your becoming a moderator of this section, which you can't be anyway, can stop it. The sectional award event has become an institution, and beyond a moderator's prerogative. It has come to stay. This is strange especially coming from my hero-Jarus. There has never been any hostility between us, but why this?. |

@Honerico, it will be suicidal to take only two keepers to nations cup. What happens if the first choice gets injured. Then you are left with only one keeper. When the only keeper left gets red-carded or gets an injury what will happen. You now send Michael Obi or Yobo in goal. Biko, do not opine like that. |
