An Ikwerre Bible, if it exists, will still be an Igbo Bible. Correct, just as the the new testament translated to Izzi is still Igbo. |

ChinenyeN: Only as far as linguistics is concerned. The Izzi people in Ebonyi state have translated the new testament into their dialect, yet no linguist is saying that it is not Igbo. No harm if Ikwerre translates the bible into Ikwerre. |

If Lampard had played that match, Chelsea would have won. Lampard would have scored those two goals missed by Ramires. Lampard should play ahead of Ramires. |

ChinenyeN: The first Bible translation is Union Igbo, claimed to supposedly be a composition of (I think) 5 dialects from different culture-zones. Isuama is the first ever wordlist/dictionary. Onitsha is the first non-diaspora literary Igbo. Now, are we done? Chinenye, you are correct. At the first Igbo language conference at Asaba in 1907, four dialects were recommended for Fr Dennis e.g Isuama, Afikpo, Bonny and Onitsha so that he can choose one, but instead of going for one of them, Fr Dennis used all the four in translating the Igbo bible. |

NRI PRIEST: Mister, I dont know if you are joking or not; I wil love for the federal government to create some more ethnic groups,so that clans like Ngwa,Ika and any other group who as much as little ever denied being Igbo can have their own ethnic group. In doing this we might have trimmed down ourselves and arrive at conclusion at who and who is Igbo. Even if its only Anambra,Imo,Enuani,Enugu,Ebonyi and parts of Abia that stood up boldly and called themselves Igbos I will be more than proud to know that we have ppl who we didnt have to tell what makes them Igbos. Ezi oyi ka ajo nwanne. I have never seen any Ngwa who disclaims Igbo. Igbo denials is mostly in Ikwerre, Ika and Ukwuani. However, they are in the minority. |

alj_harem: since you know that, don't you think that if you hate a yoruba person, don't you think you are only hating your half brother ?
How would you know his mother is not igbo or father igbo ?
We can extend this to the olden days when cultures were not defined yet
Take a look at Jaja of Opobo, if not for documentation, would you know he was igbo in an ijaw settlement ? Documentation aside, the people of Opobo has maintained cultural and lineage relationship with the people of Amaigbo for over 120 years now. I learnt that until recently, the people of Amaigbo-Jaja's original home in Orlu division do not intermarry with the people of Opobo because they are same. Delegates from Opobo are always present whenever an Eze is crowned in Amaigbo. |

@Alh Harem, Onitshas migrating from the west does not mean that they came from Yorubaland. According to the current Obi of Onitsha, Oitsha people have never been anything else but Igbo. They were Igbo in the east of the Niger then moved across the river for farming and other economic activities but later came back to Igboland. |

Shanay: I am in a friendship with an Nigerian guy. His ethnic group is Ibo. He is a first year medical surgeon. I am African American with a regular paying job. We have only been friends for 1 month in a half. He had a birthday recently and I offered to by gift of cologne or shirt, which he declined and ask for expensive 300.00 USD gift. Which I did not buy. Then I ask his sister What would be inexpensive gift for him for Christmas. Thinking that she is woman with family she would understand times are hard and have better understanding of inexpensive than he. She gives me ideas of 200.00, 300.00, and 450.00 USD gift. Then she request a gift for herself that cost over 100.00 USD. Is this normal? This kind of behavior is frowned upon in the US. When I refuse these gifts he calls me stingy. I am the most giving person, but I feel like they are trying to take advantage of me. Am I wrong in my thinking? It is not certain that the dude is Igbo. If at all he is Igbo, do not use his case as a generalisation of Ndigbo. Any dude that behaves as such does not worth you be him Igbo or Nigerian etc. What do you mean by the bolded?. |

@The O.P, the problem lies with the Yorubas themselves. They rely on govt to provide everything for them. No community effort to assist those schools. In the East, communities do not solely rely on govt to maintain their schools, roads, bridges and other infrastructures. They have to wake up. |
