PoliticsRe: Why Did Adekunle Make This Statement by AndreUweh(m): 7:41pm On Nov 28, 2011
dayokanu:
That would mean that Ojuku would now belong to Amadioha since he commited suicide too or would he be sacrificed at Okija shrine?

Imagine a full grown man commiting suicude because his brother and jonathan were taking turns on his wife?

Which man kills himself because of woman?

Well he has always been a pucci who first ran with skirts and g string to Abidjan later killing himself because of a woman
Source please.
PoliticsRe: Why Did Adekunle Make This Statement by AndreUweh(m): 7:21pm On Nov 28, 2011
Nchara:
This statement is bold. It is better than Awo's slippery slope claims. Awo committed war crimes and wanted to sugar-coat his way thru.
Imagine Awo lying that he supplied food to Biafra
Imagine Awo admitting that he gave Igbos 20 pounds each despite how much they had
Imagine Awo lying that Biafrans looted and burnt the CBN in Biafra
Imagine awo claiming that Igbos love him- Awo was stoned in Aba years after the war.

Awo is a blatant liar. I will take Adekunle any day for being bold enough to admit his evil, unlike Awo.
@The bolded, I as an Igboman once loved Awo. I lived in the West and saw what he achieved. But the process that led to his demise is what I hate most about him now.
The way he died is an abomination in the east, and as an easterner, I see his death as such. But different people different beliefs. May be it is allowed in Ikenne, who knows.
Even in Wales, a young National team manager who committed suicide recently is praised and a minute silence observed in their sporting arenas. But we from the east are different, When you commit suicide, you now belong to Amadioha.
To some people, Awo is still a hero, but to me he is not as a result of his last action on earth.

You guys are just repeating what I said earlier but with style. Am happy you guys know that Awo your demi-god said so. There is an Eastern Nigerian saying that goes like this ''it is with skill and tact that is used in letting an Obi to know that he has a bad breath''.
The war is long over, Ndigbo are an integral part of Nigeria again. Am happy with that.
Hope you guys are happy now.

Dim Ojukwu was the governor of old eastern region that now comprises of C.River, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Abia, Imo, Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi. They should jointly immortalise Ojukwu.

However, let the woman grieve in peace without all this wahala you're talking about. To lost someone takes a while to glance in another direction. At times you Igbo people should use your brains, I have no grudge against the Ikemba, but I sense a desperation either by his wards or the wife to discard off him the sooner the better(were they not already fighting for his Ikoyi Property). All these Crocodile tears are not it at all,  that is a fact.

The old man was withdrawn from a private hospital in London because of cost and put in a NHS Hospital, I beg are they saying the Nigerian Government cannot foot the bill of the Ikemba in a private Hospital. I beg make we hear word jooor.
He was in a private ward in an NHS hospital reputable for stroke management. Death is inevitable in this world. I have followed his treatment from his first second month in hospital till death.
Just say RIP to him and that's all.

Do not cry for the Illorin or Kwara people. Not all in Ilorin are Yoruba. They have Nupes, Fulani's, Hausas, Okuns and Yorubas etc. But above all, their is a peaceful co-existence of this groups in Ilorin.

Why was he discharged if he wasn't fully recovered?

This sounds like a case of medical negligence.

We await the post-mortem . . .
Discharged from hospital doesn't mean end of treatment. Stroke sufferers do not stay in hospital forever. Treatment continues from home.

aribisala0:
like i said above emotions rather than rationality is at play in most conflicts of this nature.
once an opinion/attitude has been formed we tend to minimize any contrary evidence no matter how glaring and maximize all evidence no matter how small that resonates with our attitudes as such it is nearly impossible to be "objective".
on the Nigerian side Ojukwu is considered a villain and on the other side Awolowo is a villain and this will always be, at least in fora like this.

One thing is important to remember thousands of igbos were killed in the North before Biafra was declared and is the prima facie reason cited for its declaration.
Awolowo was in prison. Was any one individual saddled with the historical burden of blame/responsibility for this by the victims.?

i have my own theories but perhaps some Igbos should ask themselves why they have not or cannot find,in addition to Awolowo, another individual symbol or target for animus among the several Hausa/Fulani actors of the troubles either within the Nigeria Army(there were many) or outwith. This occurence is not random or without reason
You are the only reasonable Yoruba poster here so far. Awo claimed that if the East will go, the west will go as well. If he had kept his promise or if the west had remained neutral, the north alone could not have defeated Biafra. It was a great betrayal on Awo's part.

The bride is an igbo girl. The mother wants to use her uncle to hand her over as her father.
It is only possible in a non Igbo trad wedding. The uncle will be mischievous to take the father's position when the father is not dead, not mentality incapacitated, not in exile and not in a very distant place.
The uncle should desist from turning tradition upside down.
