CultureRe: Delta Igbo, Bendel Igbo: What Does That Even Mean. by AndreUweh(m): 9:54pm On Jun 13, 2011
bokohalal:
Not just names. What some people are still saying is that their ancestry is different from that of others so do not lump all of them together as Igbo.
Guy you do not get the point. There is no common Igbo ancestry. Some Igbo communities claim they come from Israel, some claim Benin, some claim Idah. There others who claim they came from Ijaw land, Ibibioland and those who believe that they do not come from anywhere. Having an ancestry from Benin does not mean you are not Igbo. Are Hausa Iraqis since they trace their ancestry from Iraq?.

UNN was established in 1960 while Uni of Ile Ife was established two years later.

TravelRe: Can The Old Nigeria Passport Still Be Used To Enter Nigeria by AndreUweh(m): 7:24pm On Jun 13, 2011
It is not advisable to enter Nigeria with the old passport. In case you reside in the U.K, you may get an emergency travel certificate from The Nigerian High commission in London. While in Nigeria, you can get a passport with a day, two days or one week depending on how much you want to offer. I did that recently.
This is just to be on a safe side.

Now you realized opinions are terrible things to have unfortunately everybody had one. Again, my people say “anything scooped from the side of pot ends at the side of mouth”. All those political lover peddlers have shunned this thread.

Rochas Okorocha is not different from any other Nigerian who has no business with democracy. These elected LGA councilors should proceed to court in oder to stop Okorocha in his tracks.

Also, they should use this opportunity to ascertain the validity of Okorocha as governor of Imo State since gubernatorial election in Imo State was surrounded by mystery.
Apart from your LGA, I do not know any other LGA that conducted elections last August. PDP appointed their servants for those positions. They have to go to the polls and test their popularity now.
CultureRe: Respect And The Igbo Spinster by AndreUweh(m): 11:00pm On Jun 11, 2011
That is the norm in a traditional Igbo setting. However, a lot has gone on in this 21st century. The likes of Onyeka Onwenu are single women and still respected.
In the past, a womans status is qualified as Di bu Ugwu or mma--The prestige of the woman is her husband.
Now it is, Agwa nwanyi bu mma--Woman's attitude is her prestige.
In reality, every Igbo woman looks forward to the day her traditional wedding will take place.

Otam--a masquerade of Ndoki people that was borrowed by the Riverine easterners.
Just my personal opinion.
