Foreign AffairsRe: Nigerians Protest Killing In South Africa by andrewza: 8:17am On Jan 20, 2013
I ve just receive information from my brother in South Africa that yesterday, they demonstrated over the killing of a Nigerian who was before his death in police custody in South Africa. According 2 him, d brutal handling of Nigerians by d South African police is becoming unbearable. Oh how dis guys have a myopic memory on what Nigeria contributed toward their independence. Now they are sending our soldiers to Mali. Pls what is our reward for such a risky mission? Cant other African countries do that without Nigerias involvement?
What did you do to help the liberation?

Sorry. Nigeria did that. But you knew what I ment.

Henry120: Buhahahahahahaha, @agaugust, you have totally destroyed syndergp. You got me laughing real hard. Thank you for posting the video. You've made very good points about our mission in mali. GODS SPEED to all of them.

@ANDREWZA, and all south africans on nairaland. You guys should please go attand games at the afcon, i wasn't too happy with the lots of the empty seats at the stadia today. Goodluck to nigeria
I have better things to do. Not a fan of "The Game" mainly because Bafana Bafana is so bad.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 6:18am On Jan 20, 2013
agaugust: andrewza, i usually try to restrict my postings on this website to information that i can show everyone the source to prove it, like official institution's websites or wikipedia which is still the best public source of detailed information without going to libraries to search for books.

nigerian airforce F-7NI are highly upgraded, there are over 20 different versions of F-7 used by different countries you can see all of them on wikipedia of F-7. nigerian F-7 is not as bad as people think, but i dont have copies of the nigerian military documents to confirm the upgrades. sources told me that like bangladesh air force F-7, the nigerian version has been upgraded very heavily and has BVR (beyond visual range)capacity and can track multiple targets and lock missiles on them for attack from an invisible distance, BVR. they have ground attack capability as well as interceptor capability. thay can extend operational range with drop fuel tanks. they can also carry reconnaisance spy pods. some of the powerful countries like egypt, iran, bangladesh have removed the chinese radar and installed sophisticated british and american radars in their F-7, i am told nigeria did same but i was not shown the upgrade documents as i am not a serving air force officer and the nigerian military is very secretive about vital information especially equipment upgrade details.

nigerian military secrecy makes some sense to me now because if they had thrown all the technical data to the public, the mali rebels would have known all the upgrade capabilities of the coming F-7 and they will prepare their SAM missiles according to that information. now if they expect F-7 attack from visual range and the nigerians have BVR, then the rebels will be hit by missiles with surprise.

nigeria is confirmed to have upgraded 4 alpha jets in germany and newly equipped for naval maritime operations carrying ocean patrol electronics and anti-ship missiles in addition to its usual ground attack capabilities. this is a publicly disclosed upgrade detail and i am posting the photos here as well.
to view it just click on the blue fonts below that says "Nigerian Upgraded Alpha Jet, at the bottom of this post and then select option to open it with windows photo viewer.

also, nigerian air force HQ confirmed NAF Mi-35 hind attack helicopter gunships are landing in mali today for more ground attack operations.

the reason why NAF may favour F-7 in mali is because of its speed advantage over the alpha, the mali rebels have SAM missiles from libya and anti-aircraft guns, a very fast aircraft is harder to hit by enemy anti-aircraft guns. also to avoid surprises in war, NAF may want to use F-7 with AAM missiles to escort alpha jets doing the ground attack. in war, never underestimate your enemy like some people on this forum like to under-estimate nigerian military, you have to prepare for the unexpected, the french military got a surprise in mali when recce reports showed them the rebels weapons, the french had to use the best weapon that france has ever made, the rafale jet fighter-bombers to attack the mali rebels at night under the cover of darkness.

the new army and air force combat deployment in mali is a proof to what i have always said, that the nigerian military fights deadly wars wherever the action is, they dont select easy wars to fight, when you have generals who are trained in the best american, european, indian and israeli officers academy, you will be very bold to fight any war, and much confidence also comes from the fact that nigeria has never lost any war since world war I and our soldiers second combat experience in burma against japan in world war II under the british royal west african frontier force RWAFF which metamorphosed into the nigerian army after independence.
thr f7 is based on the mig 21 frame and thus has some problems (and plus sids)

They small. This limts the payload and range and the more range you want the less pay load you get.
they can not be modified heavly. The f7 is basicaily the lat line, i dont see getting any more from it. there is only so much you can do due to the size.

BVR is more on the missels used than the aircraft. All new fighters have BVR abieties if they get the right misseile. but BVR in the air dose not yranslat to ground. the NAF F7 can not straik ground targets at stand off range. They interceptors and have limted ground strike abieties.

Hinds are good choice for mali. open desert with a few strong points. use them after you drive out the enemy from a city to block of escapes.

i am 100 percent sure the rebels dont have a air force
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 5:40am On Jan 19, 2013
Henry120: Nigeria is going no where without our alpha jets. Two alpha jets and two F-7's would be deployed and one G222 medium transport plane. The two alpha jets flew from abuja today, to NIGER republic. All sorties, reece and ground attacks would be made from the air base in niger.
I know the force size. My thing is why send the F7. 4 alpha jets would be a lot better than 2 alpha jets and 2 F7.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 5:38am On Jan 19, 2013
Blyss: In regard to SA, as the supposed and self claimed military and economic giant of Africa, why are they not answering the Malian call for military Aid, why didn't they come to help Liberia, or Sierra Leon?
We in Centrail african rebulic right now.

Any case it it a west african block matter. Last time we did any thing there you called a support ship a frigat and said we where imposing our imperial agenda extra extra. Basically you threw a tantram. But we have overd troops to the UN mission.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Airforce Deploys 2 Supersonic Aircrafts To Mali by andrewza: 11:33pm On Jan 18, 2013
ocelot2006: The Alpha jet is actually not subsonic. Just like A-10 warthog, Harrier VSTOL jet, and Su-24 frogfoot. But like the aforementioned jets, it's low speed makes it an ideal air-2-ground platcform for combat air support (CAS).
I think you have a gramtcal mistake there. Just 2 words make it wrong. smiley
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 10:28pm On Jan 18, 2013
You know what I find strange. Why is Nigeria deploying F7's over Alpha jets. Seems strang to me. The F7 is a fighter interceptor based on the mig 21. A rather poor choice over the alpha jet. Yet reports are you sending them to malil.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 9:42pm On Jan 18, 2013
Let get this current. There are 2 new civil wars going on in africa right now. CAR and maili. With nigeria, algeria and south africa taking part.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Airforce Deploys 2 Supersonic Aircrafts To Mali by andrewza: 6:34pm On Jan 18, 2013
ocelot2006: Truly, we have a lot of ignorant baboons and fucktards here on Nairaland. Our country's military's going to WAR, yet a number of demented monkeys here who won't even survive a day in Boys Scout camp have the audacity to insult our service men and women. What the hell's wrong with you bastards?

First of all, if you think this war isn't tied to the security situation back home, then you are definitely a bufoon of tge highest order. You need to ease up Channel O, MTV-base, Soundcity, and watch the damn news. Where the hell do you think Boko Haram trains and source for weapons used to kill scores of innocent Nigerians up north? Northern Mali is basically ground zero of our security problems, and if we fail, the terror spills across the West African region. And please explain how the deployment of 1200 combat troops from a 90,000+ strong army and 15,000+ strong Airforce affect domestic security ops?

One more thing, i've had it with you fucktards calling the F-7NI fighter junk. Yes it's not as sophisticated as the F-15 or 16, or even the Eurofighter or Gripen, but calling the F-7NI (an improved variant of the 1981 J-7) a 1966 MIG-21 is the same as calling the Japanese F-2 fighter an F-16 fighter. They may look alike, but they are totally different beasts with the F-7NI and F-2 being way more sophisticated than their predecessors. With its cranked-delta wing design and western avionics, the F-7NI is way better performance than the older MIG-21, capable of delivering a number of unguided and precision munition on target.
Sorry the But saying the F7 is a improved or modefied mig 21 is not a lie. I agree it is not a pile of junk and way better than MIG 21 though. All so why did NAF send it in the first place it is a interceptor, more alpha jets would have been a better option. Seems has though some one just feels the need to use it because you have it.
Foreign AffairsRe: See How Malian Soldiers Are Training For The Offensive by andrewza: 2:37pm On Jan 18, 2013
thiendella: I I'm still dubitative here, for what it's worth, at the very beginning beginning of the video, the reporter voice starts with '' Malian soldier may lack munitions, they still have imagination'' and they you see them slam slamming undecided undecided
Not sayong the video is show how bad the malian army is. Only that the fact the video was even filimed is worse than the content. It makes sense why waist needed ammmo to shoot the ground.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Airforce Deploys 2 Supersonic Aircrafts To Mali by andrewza: 2:34pm On Jan 18, 2013
Dee60: Nearly all fighter jets are supersonic!
The only milltary jets not super sonic are not fighters(A10 hawke, impale extra) so you could have been correct in saying "all new fighters are super sonic" but i doubt there will be be many super sonic booms over there. Fuel burns up fast with after burners on.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Airforce Deploys 2 Supersonic Aircrafts To Mali by andrewza: 2:29pm On Jan 18, 2013
The F7 is a fighter interceptor and not a ground attack aircraft. It can do it yes but the older alpha jets would do a better job. Seems the NAF deployed the F7 because they want to more than because they needed to. I wonder if they will operate under the french opertion or will they act indeptdtly. Non the less good hunting to chair force.
Foreign AffairsRe: 34 Hostages Killed In Air Strike By Algerian Forces by andrewza: 11:30am On Jan 18, 2013
Though I under stand where algeria was coming from there actions where rash. They knew they had liitel chance of a happy outcom yet still acted. Some times it is best to sit still and watch and wait. Of course I do not blame algeria for the deaths. That blame is for the cowards who decide to fight wars by attacking civvlians who have nothing to do with this war.

May those dogs die and burn in pits of hell fire and damenation

thiendella: Are u for real with this slam slam thing, why don't you use fake bulletsor something like that ? This video is recent , and the bearded islamists are coming forward undecided undecided
Yes I am for real.

Same resoan. Uneasry Waer and tear. Prevent injuries from recruits being recruits (no one Fups like a troop(recruit) and there is no way to know if this was a just a dry run or a actual exersize.

The bang bang shout was even used by solders traing for WW2.
Foreign AffairsRe: See How Malian Soldiers Are Training For The Offensive by andrewza: 8:16am On Jan 17, 2013
thiendella: r u?
Yes I am. The bang bang thing is not rare or strange. The only thing strange is that they filmed it. You say bang bang when doing dry runs of drills. Every time you shoot a wapon you shorten it's life and if they recruits you don't want a freindly fire. There are many times for the bang bang shout thing.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 8:09am On Jan 17, 2013
gst101: @agaugust. Thank you so much for standing gallantly with the spirit of Naija against these people especially syndergp and the ingnwi called msauza.

@musauza, if you dont have a satellite tv, you should have a tv with antenea. If you still dont have that, you should also have a transistor world reciever radio. But i am sure you have non of that no wonder you asked when was the last time we played a war game. Like agaugust told you, we dont do war games, we fight real wars. We have been fighting war even before independence when thw nigerian identity was non existent.

The question you asked, msauza, shows you've never been objective all these while.

Salute to the only soldier in here. Though,he has been against us, i think he knows what he is saying.
Actauly you do have war games. Though not big ones like us. I can gaurinty that part of the traing to go in to mali will have a few war games in it.

War games help you train for things you do not normaly do. Exampile SA had a war game where they had to deffend SA against a Invasion. We have never been invaded and the odds are low we ever will be. But that dose not mean we should not prepare for it. Doing this war game we learned what needs to be improved. All so training with other countries is vital for gaining skills. Exampil our navy trained with the brits in how to deffend against a Air Attack on our ships. Non of our ships (since WW2) have been attacked by enemy aircraft or missiels. But the RN has(falcklands war). Now through traing with them we learn the lesons they lernet in blood in only hard work. Or in Anti piracy we train with other countries tacking part in the anti piracy op so to learn from them. This is focused mainly on the navy but I am in the navy so speak from first hand knowlege. The same will still be true for the other branches of servis though.

Has for nigeria in wars. Nigeria is fighting what we call low intesty wars and COIN(same has SA in current days). Though there is still danger the experaince will not help in a high insty or total war. This is where war games come in. To preapare you for tommorws war.

agaugust: is there any well educated man in south africa that has a university masters degree on this forum ? please help me out by using zulu language to interpret simple english to syndergp and msauza because their low level of education is doing damage to their thinking and english language interpretation ability.

i quoted thabo mbeki ex-soutth african president last year as my proof and two more weblinks yesterday to prove the truth about the south african bush war.
if you have a brian that works well, read those weblinks below, they are general piblic information and not private propaganda which you prefer to believe.

http://www.afrocubaweb.com/southafrica.htm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calueque
http://web.archive.org/web/20080120211559/http://uk.geocities.com/sasolboy/calueque.html

those public records of history cannot be erased by syndergp and msauza who find the truth too painful to swallow and they are now crying like women in soweto riot of olden days. you know how to insult other countries but you cannot swallow it when your own country is emabarrased by solid truth.

no nerve to stomach the truth in syndergp and msauza, too weak like women, too dishonest like most black men all over the world, even here in the USA black men are very dishonest, 90% of them and i am sometimes ashamed that i am a black man.

if both of you cannot read and understand simple english, then i dont know how you have the brain to judge military rankings of countries which is a task that requires high level intelligence because very smart brains are necessary for military top brass to plan, execute and win a war.

go and sit down you too clowns, i thought i was talking to reasonable people, thats why every other person has abandoned this thread and they warned me that both of you will just waste my time because you cannot think in a logical manner or you just refuse to think so you can protect your national pride as patriotic south africans.
Thabo was coverd. The cabans defeated sa in the sense that they stoped them. With out the cubans and genrail USSR suport SA would have been able to put UNTA in power in Angola witch would have been a pupet of south africa and the west at large. The cubans never defeated the South africans in combat but where able to prevent SA from wining the war. Thus draging SA in to a endless war that banckrupted us. I beilve this was coverd. Any case thabo was the least succesfull presdeint in SA he did not even survive a full term before getting removed so not the best source. In genrail poltsions are bad sorces they don't know much on the subject and they twist facts to gain votes. Just say for futer reffrense don't beliefe a thing any one of those people say from any country.

this was coverd. though to add the 20mm is a bit short range i prever the 35mm. you get better range and you got a payload. Meaning a miss will still down a target.
