SmooshCHN: This same Wiggins wants to ruin us. A turnover and 2 poor defensive effort by him and we are up by only 1 already.
He ruined us but later redeemed himself. Everything else you posted here is bible. That Wes Matthew charge foul was what spoiled this game. That was homecooking. Better Jazz (without D Mitch) than the Suns tbh.
Wiggins playing like Kobe. NGL. Poole on the team with SC has confused LAL because each time they left Poole, he feasted. They stopped doubling SC and he hit 2 big threes. I hope it continues.
I thought you guys needed 4 points. My overall point was that Chelsea will qualify from the league. If I had known you guys needed 6 points that would have been my prediction.
That person chats rubbish per second. Everyone knows that Laporte had a bad relationship with Deschamps. He was invited in 2018 following his success with the U-21 squad in 2016 but for whatever reasons (most online say he was aloof and distant), Deschamps does not like him. Even Frank Lebeouf (Deschamp's friend could not answer when he was quizzed by ESPNs Dan Thomas). Deschamps does not like Benzema as well which is the reason he is never called. All for personal rather than footballing reasons.
Kane asked to leave last season but Levy convinced him into giving Mourinho a chance. The chance did not pan out so Kane wants out. Narrative changers, beware.
popizaino: Maybe all I needed to say was that we have poor conversion rate.....but thing is that I have never seen an attacking team with low conversion rate like ours. Obviously, there something not just right about our large possession. Look back to the game and won't bemoan over any decent chance missed. So much for our attacking football. We've played 180 mins football against football minors and yet to score a single goal and you want me to believe kepa was at fault ? Their keeper won man of the match but did arsenal keeper also win man of the match when we couldn't put just a single goal pass them ? We can keep blaming kepa but we are not super human they shouldn't score against and besides, mendy could also have been in post and we concede through a penalty which we wont have to point at anyone other than our inability to score.
Look at shadowcracker's still image showing where Kepa was positioned. Tell me how he was on the wrong side of the shot. It was 3 shots on target to Leciester's 1. Of those 3, only 2 were good enough to trouble Kasper. Chillwell header and the Mount shot. If you saw the quote from Tieleman on this thread, you will notice he said to hit it top corner. Top corner is the most difficult angle for any keeper world over. I guarantee you that a similar goal will be scored against Mendy very soon. They will blame everybody else but Mendy, you just watch it. We were here when Kepa was also blamed for the goal against Arsenal. He would have been blamed had he kept the lines against Westbrom. There is no objectivity to it. If a shot is less likely to hit its target, does it not mean that if it hit its target it will be more than likely to beat the keeper?
Tell him to name the player who did better with the kind of team GSW has now
Not just the team. The injuries included. Oubre, Wiseman joined the injury list and GSW played an 8-man rotation. This G-league team were 1-8 when SC did not play and 37-26 with him. This was the SC that was supposed to get exposed or the one that CP3 had more impact than.
We did it. Bad start to the 4th Q but SC came through on what was a somewhat poor shooting night. He was getting clawed in his drives but all the same we would not have done this without him. Big game from Draymond Green and Wiggins. Good game from everyone else. We most probably won't beat the LAL if we faced but at least, it was a fun season. With Klay back we will be dangerous.
Jodera: To be sincere, after watching this with an open mind again, A Mendy would have tipped that ball at least to the bar(underside) or parry it away. Forget about the ball too extreme, kepa also was positionally suspect unlike Mendy who was king of positioning. 96% chance Mendy will save that
NB:... This isn't from a Chelsea fan bro
I know you are not a Chelsea fan and I have respect for you so I won't argue. The good thing is, very very soon, this theory will be tested. You will be here and watch people make excuses for Mendy.
raumdeuter: If this happens. As in Chelsea drops out of top 4 and lose the CL final. I will do giveaway before the start of next season
They will qualify through the league. I am pretty sure they will pick up 4 points from the 2 games left. As for the UCL final, anything can happen but I never thought Chelsea were good enough to beat City at full strength.
popizaino: The only time thiago spotted a man running along the wing,we scored albeit an offside. .....what stopped jorginho mr deep playmaker from playing those diagonal balls to our wing players ?
Could it be instruction from Tuchel or jorginho is just too limited to try something risky ?
You guys played to beat them centrally but Rodgers was prepared for it. If you noticed, your wing backs were not putting in any crosses even when they got to the wings. Tuchel felt that Leicester were weaker in the middle and wanted to exploit it. It simply did not work. Towards the end of the game he tried to change things but if you noticed, Brendan just put more players in the centre.
Mendy won't save a ball from yards outside box 18?
Same Mendy that saved a very fast ball from Benzema that most people didn't even notice at first glance?
Nawa for una.
Mendy not as quick as Kepa does not mean Mendy is slow. It just means Kepa is quicker. Mendy commands crosses/corners better, is a better shot stopper and better at improvising but he does not have Kepa's passing range, Kepa is slightly quicker and Kepa is a better sweeper keeper than him.
Minute 6:22. Watch it again and again. Watch when the shot leaves Tieleman's foot then from that position, pause it as that is the point the keeper should dive. Then see if Mendy's arms will be 15 inches above Kepa's at that time to save the shot. It is easy to pause a shot when it is just over Kepa's arms without considering when he reacted to the shot. Meanwhile, people with lower center of gravity will dive quicker than taller people.
swiz123: Bro, a taller goal keeper is very likely to save the ball. Kepa is not tall, that's why I don't blame him much.
If the taller keeper was quick to react, possibly, yes. But I guarantee you, having watched that shot like 7 times now, Mendy will not keep it out because he is naturally not as quick as Kepa.
swiz123: Was I not telling you that Kasper's save was more difficult. Guy just rest, Kepa no fit save da Mount shot. He doesn't have the reflex
I did not tell you Kasper's save was more difficult. I said his reflex was BETTER needed there. But the position of the ball was to his advantage. In Kepa's case the position of the ball was to every keeper's disadvantage.
SCOOPERJEF: bro this excuse isnt going to fly did you see the mount shot that kasper saved that was a well hit shot and i bet if it was kepa that woulda been a goal.... a good goal keeper woulda keep the game alive but with kepa the excuses will be much...
Mount's shot is nowhere near Tieleman's. Why are you people like this? Mount's shot was more central.
rationalmind: Sorry but this is getting ridiculous.
We did not do enough to score with 3 shorts on target drawing brilliant saves from their GK but Leicester did enough to score with one shot on target.
The reason we lost was simply because Schmeichel was up to the task while ours was found wanting when we needed him the most
Kepa in goal and Chilwell scores that header and we won't hear the end of how it would it was a fantastic header and would have beaten any keeper.
You are sounding like I said Leicester deserved to win. I am simply showing you that you are blaming the wrong person. Drawing 3 saves from Kasper does not mean those were high quality chances that anyone would have scored. If Kasper saved them, good for him. Does not mean Leicester fans would have blamed him if one of those chances led to a goal. See you, arguing like they fired a shot straight at Kepa and he fumbled it. My friend, that is not how it works.
rationalmind: If you think Kepa has better positioning and reflexes than Mendy, then there's really no point having this "discussion"
LOL. Watch the replay of that Goal. Kepa was perfectly positioned. PERFECTLY. The ball was just the right pace, height and speed. It would have beat any keeper. You forget that CFC had turned the ball over and your Thiago Silva was putting hand behind his back and dodging the shot as if he was in the penalty box. Find another excuse mister man. You did not win because you did not do enough to score. If you led 2-0 before the 63rd minute, would you have lost?
rationalmind: Has Kepa ever saved any long range shot since he joined us? Not to the best of my knowledge.
Has Mendy ever saved a long range shot? Numerous examples abound in his short stint with us.
Does Mendy stand a better chance of saving that? (Refer above statements) YES
So what exactly are we arguing here?
Positioning and reflex are part of keeping. I guarantee you, that shot will already be in the net before Mendy can think about diving. Your analysis is simply emotional.
