Godx:I can't believe what I am reading. |
Melvyn11:Hmmmm. |
Godx:Hmmm. |
Melvyn11:I saw someone asking what KdB had won compared to Bruno Fernandez so I started asking myself what Bruno Fernandez had won. The people asking the question are hyping EPL player of the MONTH but are downplaying EPL player of the YEAR. |
steady986:You are not answering my question. I asked you if he is being honest because he predicted that the LAL will win even when you know that ever since KD called him out, he has voted and spoken against KD. |
steady986:Broussard is honest because he is predicting Lakers to win? You do know that Broussard is mostly saying so because KD put him in his place in 2019? |
mattfeuter:How many did Lebron win without Wade, Kyrie and AD and how many did Durrant win without Steph ? |
Blueelf:While I will not hold any briefs for Coach Kerr as I believe he deserves some stick for certain aspects, will you be honest to say the same pundits who never changed their minds on a team they rated 6th in 2014 don't have an opinion that matters? Notice how eerily quiet they are on Nick Nurse, Brad Stevens and even Steve Nash (he is new etc. But if someone else had that roster they will say he was underperforming with the team). It is one of the reasons I don't buy the "he has to prove himself" rhetorics. Coach Kerr just like Steph, stopped needing to prove anything since 2014-2016. |
birdman:Of course, I agree that he is not a CP3 style leader and whether CP3 will achieve much?? ( the season just started) with this squad than Stephen is moot. The only evidence we have is Curry has won more with underrated teams than CP3 ever would. The fish to fry here is that Curry is a leader who does not lead by yelling or forcing issues. He follows the coaches instructions to the letter and believes that when he is at his best, it elevates the chances of anyone around him like Timmy and Dirk. If that is not what this current roster of the warriors need, you may be right but only time will tell. I only took you up on your claim that Curry does not make those around him much better. That is untrue. |
A40:Anyone who is trying to be honest will say exactly what you said. People forget that virtually everyone kept saying the warriors win had an asterisk which is why they started the next season in anger, did 24-0, eventually 73-9 and were 1 win away from repeating. |
birdman:I am not saying Blake is better than Klay Thompson. I am saying when that roster for the Clippers was being set up it was with the mentality that Blake would be better. Blake was supposed to be better than Curry if you recall. The bottomline being that that Clippers "Lob City" team was built to be better than the Warriors in 2014. You are a basketball head on here so you will remember that the warriors were projected to be the 5-6th seed that year and many pundits predicted Lebron going back to Cleveland will win it all. So please, Curry does have his very palpable weaknesses some of which I have agreed with you, but making others better is not one of them. Let us give him his dues. |
steady986:Which means shouting is not what wins you games that is my point. Yesterday, the other GSW players had wide open threes that they missed and Portland could not miss. It is not surprising that the score difference was reflective of the three points shooting as well. I don't think any Warriors supporter will be expecting a ring this year based on the roster but like I earlier mentioned, the league will ebb, flow and feel like a roller coaster for many teams if not all. Dirk Nowtizki is another Curry-style leader who lets his game do the leading. I just wanted to add that. |
birdman:I lifted the roster from Basketball reference as is. You can look it up. I respect you though. You had no argument to make so you hid behind Klay Thompson who was never rated better than Blake Griffin (the next best player on Chris Paul's roster). |
mattfeuter:A great player like Lebron having all the possession was always going to get the most points and assists. Somehow nobody wants Harden to win regular season MVPs because the way he plays allows him to get such stats but the argument is different when Lebron is involved, why? |
A40:A player that denied being hit by Draymond Green but then begged the NBA to suspend him "because I am a father of 3 kids" yet the NBA that had given DG a tech on the day decided to revisit the call to change it to a flagrant foul after the game so they could suspend DG. But his people will be here bronsexualin. |
mattfeuter:I don't understand this. As SC scored more and had more assists than Kawhi in 2019 should Fred Van Vleet have been given FMVP trophy or scoring the most points in a series that someone loses makes them worthy of the FMVP trophy? |
steady986:Draymond the instigator and leader did not play? |
DeeMain:If a player holds the ball every possession and has 200 FGA is he expected to make less points and assists than another player who has the ball only once out of every 3 possessions and has only 140 FGA? |
mattfeuter:So numbers determine who the FMVP should be? |
benji93:People that celebrated beating Miami without Bam and Dragic are now mentioning K Love and Irving. |
DeeMain:How? |
etidy:The same logic that did not give FMVP to Anthony Davis was used to dash Iguodala a FMVP he did not deserve in ten life times. But because the other player did not grow up in the slums and play basketball to buy a house for his mum or take his family out of the hood, he is not a leader. |
etidy:This is not Paul Pierce but believe me it is the TRUTH! |
steady986:Lebron faced a warriors team with an injured Curry, injured Bogut, injured Iguodala and (Suspended Draymond from the game 5 that would have ended the series).Kawhi faced an injured Klay and KD. Lebron faced an injured Dragic and Bam Adebayo. Injuries are part of the game. |
birdman:Curry won 67-15 and a ring with these players in 2014-15. Bring the Clippers teams as well as the Rockets team CP3 played on. We need receipts now. 19 Leandro Barbosa 40 Harrison Barnes 12 Andrew Bogut 30 Stephen Curry 31 Festus Ezeli C 23 Draymond Green 7 Justin Holiday 9 Andre Iguodala 1 Ognjen Kuzmić 10 David Lee PF 34 Shaun Livingston 20 James Michael McAdoo 4 Brandon Rush 5 Marreese Speights 11 Klay Thompson |
steady986:For e.g 2014/15 When DG was playmaking and leading the team. |
benji93:I actually thought some of them watched those games. Curry was dropping dimes. In the Nets game alone, he probably would have had 20 assists. Because he is not pointing fingers and directing traffic does not mean he is not a leader or a point god. lol. Lionel Messi and Curry have similar leadership styles. They rather lead by doing their own role perfectly. Tim Duncan is the same way. Hakeem Olajuwon as well. |
steady986:Okay. So Lebron has not done anything Curry is not already doing for this GSW team. Gotit. |
steady986:This team compares to which Lebron team exactly? |
steady986:I actually thought you were trolling, but now I know you only looked at the boxscore. lol |
steady986:Curry had KD in 2014/15 or that season never existed? |
birdman:He had retired by then so his head was clear and he realized his mistakes. Curry's form of leadership is by example so when he is not playing well you can see it in his body language. But that does not mean he is not a leader or that he does not make others around him much better. He just does not do it by forming activity like Pat Beverly. He is more like Tim Duncan or Kawhi. |
