Baba na you start hypotheticals oh.
Me I respect KD, I am never on the extreme on this issue.

I won't even surprised how the game we watched today degenerated into a KD debate. Austin reaves outplayed klay, Russell outplayed Poole. Wiggins tried his best but he's missed a ton of games this season and he was injured today. Draymond has been ass for a while and you can't have an undersized looney as your only big man. Losing key bench guys without adequate replacement.

These are the issues instead of hypotheticals about Durant.
This has been my point. Nothing concern KD for this loss. KD would have lost with Steph if the role players are as bad as Poole and Klay were. Kerr will have to tell us what Kuminga and Moody did to not command more playing time than Poole especially if we allow Klay.

What is this one saying?
How did you arrive at that conclusion that it was Benz's header that was the big chance? What's the difference between his header and Halaand's that it was not also recorded as a big chance after all both were saved by the gk. Like I've told you several times, you can't say with all certainty that Benz's header will be ruled offside because you're neither the linesman nor the VAR. So rest!!

And it seems English is confusing you. What was recorded was Big chance not chances. Another confusion.
What about blocked Shots? Who had more? Shots inside box which shows how much they broke the opposition lines?
Your mumudeen thinks it's only what he sees that matters. You've flunked almost all aspects of this argument that you're now searching for new talking points and changing position like an expired olosho.
I suggest you change your moniker to android2 and rest!!
Dumbo looking for way out. I don't know how many times you'll be told that Benz's header was recorded as a stat because it was not reviewed. But the replays and commentators clearly mentioned that he was off.

Now mumu, a big chance like I told you is one in which the rate of conversion is higher than 50%. What that means is, at least half the number of times, the player scores it. That is why it is easy to know that the chance recorded for RM was the Benz header. There was no other chance that foot the bill and the one that would have counted for City was canceled for being offside.

You can't be mentioning Haaland when the shot was blocked. Mumu. Blocked shot will not count as a big chance because it proves that a defender was present enough to prevent the keeper from making a save which reduces the conversion rate.

How dumb will someone be to not just check something before typing?

You're missing the point. Poole is a non factor if you had Durant. Klay was never going to be the same guy.

I will give Klay another year though but Poole absolutely has to go. Hell dash the other team picks just to offload him and move aggressively for some size. Draymond has player option so him staying another year will not kill y'all not like he has any athleticism to lose
With KD we still lose the series. Poole was instrumental to last season's ring and he regressed badly.

Wiggins underperformed but he can be forgiven if Klay had covered up for him like he did for Klay last season.

KD would have been a nonfactor like he was for the Suns.

Anyway I hope Warriors fans that downplayed the importance of KD can see the difference now between Durant and Andrew Wiggins. Obviously the Warriors have shown they can win without him, hell they beat him but do you really think you would have a dynasty without Kevin Durant? Your guess is as good as mine.
The series no really concern Durant or even Wiggins. It is Poole and Klay. Wiggins can be excused because of last season.

1. Poole developing an attitude because he was given a contract he didn't deserve.
2. Green punching Poole.
3. Role players not showing up.
4. Wiggins going away without any reasonable explanation and never really showing up for the playoffs.

In an eliminination game, only Steph and Donte scored in double digits.
Everyone on the warriors not named STEPH should be on the chopping block. Starting with Poole and Draymond.
As for Klay thompson, I don't even know....
Part of me thinks he deserves one final chance after missing two seasons to career ending injuries. But I don't even know...
Klay is done bro. Age is the issue. I thought he would pick up this season because he was carried in the last one but he flattered to deceive. His defense is no longer that great and then his shooting was doodle.

The less said about Poole the better.

Draymond is the fool that caused this all. He punched Poole and got him a contract he did not deserve.

This is a stat posted by a man city supporter on this thread. You can see Madrid had more xG than Man City. The next one was copied from your athletic blog. Madrid has xG of .7 to City's .55 which implies more chances at goal by over a point.
Lastly, the last post is the intro of your athletic blog which shows it's match analysis and not live commentary.
You messed up so bad. You just saw "live" and assumed it's live commentary.

You have never been the sharpest tool. Did you check your conjecture about AD by data before spewing it?

How is 6'1 Dennis Schroeder generating more fouls when he has 6'6 Draymond and co at the rim going by your malaria logic?

How is Lebron shooting a ton of 3s in this series and still generating a ton of FTs if all Curry does is shoot 3s?

Curry is driving to the rim more than AD + Lebron combined. The law of averages should tell you he will naturally get more fouls than any one else yet Vander freaking Bilt is generating more free throws per drive than him.

How can someone not see that this is statistically impossible except bad whistling is going on?

Odense Beckham.

On this free throw issue. I have a simple take:

Its the playoffs, let' the players man up.

We are here to watch hardcore physical defence and sublime skill based offense in the playoffs.

Off course I don't support borderline murdering or injuring your opponent but we are not here to watch freethrow fest either. The refs should swallow the whistle and let these men play.
It is not even the manning up aspect. It is the selective whistling. It is how Reaves is generating more fouls than Steph Curry. Things like that. There is a reason I stopped posting on this thread. Too many slowbrained people to deal with at times. No disrespect to anyone.
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by Android17: 5:20pm On May 12, 2023
Bros, on this thread in particular, your reputation precedes you. You are not exactly the most insightful when it comes to data and analytics so I will toe this data path with caution because more knowledgeable people will tell you that factors come into play before a stat is counted. To ignore those other factors is to expose your gross ignorance on the subject matter.

Case in point, Steph Curry. The warriors talisman attempts more drives to the rim, has more usage, skill, class, pull, clout, gravity and star power than any other player in the Lakers not named Lebron yet Curry is attempting less free throws than Schroeder, Reaves, etc etc. How does your mumu data account for that?

In fact, Curry is generating four less free throws than Schroeder per game even though Curry drives 2 times more than him. How do you reconcile that?

Now if the best player on the warriors roster with more usage than both AD and Lebron, more drives attempted and more gravity than both players combined is generating less free throws than a role player on the Lakers. That should be clear enough to the biggest fool, that, Curry and the warriors by extension have been getting shafted by the whistle.

This should come as no surprise. Every GSW fan (not the fake trolls on NL) complained all season long about how terrible the refereeing had been. This goes back to even losing to Orlando early in the season. But like I said, your reputation precedes you. LOL
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by Android17: 3:32pm On May 12, 2023
It does not matter who refs as long as they ref fairly. If you are adjudicating a playoff game, you cannot be heavily biased where 1 team has 20+more FTs than the other. That is statistically unlikely especially when the other team is not even reputed for being rough or hyperaggressive.

Anyone with a history of watching the NBA (Including the Netflix specials that Bron Bron had to 'stop' himself from watching) will know that the classic way to rig a game is to give one team significantly more fouls than the other.

It does 2 things: it ensures one team goes to the line to shoot FTs as well as helping them get into a bonus quickly so that any other ticky tacky fouls or legitimate fouls will lead to more FTs. Further, it ensures that the better players on the opposing team will have to go to the bench more often to avoid racking more fouls. This guarantees scoring runs for the team the NBA hopes to favor. We see it every season.

In the past, the excuse was always: this is the playoffs and foul calls get harder to come by but that narrative changes when the warriors are concerned. Iggy, in his book even pointed out that a player like KD who was known to get a ton of FTs saw his numbers shrink significantly when he played for the dubs. Obvious things like this that us, Warriors have had to deal with.

Just call the game fairly and let the team that wins, win. If you want to be generous with the foul calls let it go both ways otherwise, tell both teams to man up. Afterall the Lakers are bigger in size, that should favor them innit?

It's obvious you have issues with comprehension.
You can't decipherbetween live commentary, which is a written narrative of what's happening on pitch as it happens, devoid of second opinions and pundits making comments on a match. Your screenshot clearly says "he may have been offside". Is "may" a definite description of what's happening on- field? The fact remains that the Benz and KDB'S chances were not offside as far as the match is concerned. If you can't understand that fact, I really don't see how I can help you. And it's funny you're still claiming KDB'S chance is offside even when your Aljazeera post clearly showed it wasn't ruled offside in agreement with that of Goal.com. You clearly have issues with comprehension

And you're wrong. Tchouameni's chance was counted for madrid and Goal.com clearly labelled it a chance just as a corner is seen as an attacking chance.

Go back and check your Athletic link. There's no live commentary there just opinions of pundits about the game. Like i said, you have comprehension issues.

It's funny you round up xG because it favors Madrid. I'm sure if the balance was towards City you won't do that. You're just too biased.

Of course, Halaand's deflected strike and the tame shot and header were counted as chances for City even though there's no chance of any of them hitting the net. Benz's deflected chance was also a good chance as well and is counted as blocked shot.
Constantly chatting wass. Just bring your own opta stats and show us the number of big chances counted for RM so we will see if Tchouameni's shot or anything else not named the Benz header was factored.

Someone is talking A you are talking Z. I already told you how chances are counted as stats. It is not the nonsense you are talking about. You just even claimed that the Athletic link was not play by play. Hahaha.

Yes they are and out of the 5 UCLs we won in the past nine years we've only done it while winning the league too just two times. Also it seems to me like you keep making a mistake of conflating league and UCL forms. the fact that we've lost some games to oppositions way smaller than Man Shitty at home this season while Shitty only got a draw there should tell you something. the fact that we've won UCL while being third on the table in 2014 should be telling too. just wait for second leg, maybe just maybe your sportswashing club would be lucky to lose to us by 1 goal this time
Nobody is denying your pedigree in the UCL. The record speaks for itself. However, your mistake is that you are also reading too much into that pedigree where this season is involved.

You are not traditionally very good away from home. In those UCL titles that you won how many did you achieve by winning away from home or winning both ties?

Okay, apart from that, which team have you played in the past that was at the level of this current City?

I hope you can see the flow of logic. Stop overreading what you think was a good performance from your team. That good performance did not translate into a win. Also, I have mentioned repeatedly that City have tended to play more conservatively away from home and be less aggressive or progressive and that this same trend was obvious last season against Atletico Madrid were they dominated City at the Calderon, but played second fiddle at the Etihad and got beat.

Think of this when you approach the Etihad. City will be more aggressive and dynamic than they played at the Bernabeu. Haaland will have more impact. It is going to shock you what you will see at the Etihad.

You can quote me, I will be very surprised if Madrid conceded less than 4 goals.

No,we are not saying two different things,it is just that you are more fixated on the possibility of man city qualifying alone while you ignoring all factors that can go well for real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti has defeated pep in his home ground in the UCL which is the factor that can go wrong for man city and you are refusing to acknowledge.

Pep Guardiola on the other has the history making the finals after avoiding defeats in the first leg which is usually away from his home.

These two factors are what makes the second leg a difficult one to prove not man city outright win.
Pep has lost to Brentford ahome this season. I am not sure how that factors into things because I don't remember bringing up Carlo v Pep in anything I have posted on this thread.

My main contention was with the "home record means nothing" "RM know what it takes" "they will destroy Man City" and all the other unquantifiable nonsense some people have posted here. There is just nothing to validate it except wishful thinking and hatred for Pep.

In every other logical world, if 2 comparable teams have drawn the first tie, no matter how slender, the advantage in the 2nd leg will skew towards the one that will be home. That does not mean it will definitely happen like so, it just means that is the objective way for the scale to be tipped.

But what one often sees here is emotional responses couched as speaking from experience. If other people like it, good for them. I think differently.

Below is the commentary from Goal.com. At least you have access to that site. You can clearly see the KDB chance there on 52' and it was not ruled offside. I don't know where you got yours from.

The commentator is neither the ref nor linesman to rule a play offside. He gave his opinion just like anyone else. As far as play is concerned, Benz was not offside and that counted as a chance for madrid. So relying on the opinion of a commentator to call a play shows your poor understanding of football.

Long range shots are chances of they are well laid out. It's ridiculous to say corner is not a chance when it's actually an attacking play. You know nothing about football.
Go and check the stats I copied from Opta on page 27. https://www.nairaland.com/7659224/real-madrid-vs-manchester-city/26#123043648

Madrid had more xG (0.63) than Man City (0.6) and higher number of shots.
I hope you're aware immediately after Vini's goal, Benz had another chance at goal that deflected off a city player for a corner. You keep proving you didn't watch the match.
Stop talking crap if you have issues understanding basic facts.

I told you that Benz's chance counted as 1 even though it was not and that if he scored it would have been reviewed and canceled. I even went further to use John Stones' goal against Arsenal to give you a similar instance where adjudication was done same way. That is my way of telling you that that 1 big chance that opta (in your link) attributed to RM is ruled off as null and void. A mere paperweight stat that had no way of influencing the game. Notice your Tchouameni shot was not counted by opta right? Learn to listen when people more knowledgeable than you are speaking.

And speaking of knowledge; you just tried to cite goal.com in-place of the Athletic as though ones opinion is higher than the others. Thats how silly you are. This is from Aljazeera. I can bring more. Tell me why other reporters know the same thing I saw and you are arguing aimlessly.

And did you try to cite 0.63 and 0.6 as different? They are statistically the same especially when one of the factors that went into that XG for RM includes Benz's header that was off and subtracts KDBs that was ruled offside during the game. I don't even know why I am debating with you who just keeps tossing and turning without direction.

Benz's deflected shot is a chance? What will you say about Haaland's that Alaba blocked then? Don't be funny. Shots on target are a better metric of determining which team was troubling the keeper.

Which keeper had more saves to make? You are counting useless shots from outside of the box some of which Ederson did not even dive for because they flew over the bar. You are struggling to make sense.
