advanceDNA:They have a near perfect system of keeping records of citizens born in their country. That's why they can't have age cheats in sports like you have in your corrupt nation. You can't even sell alcoholic drinks to anyone below 18, and those claiming over 18 must identify themselves accurately in every shop. Nor be like una wey dey sell shekpe to primary school kids. |
I'm constantly befuddled and shocked seeing teenagers and kids running amok on the Social media space. I'm very sure Nairaland is brimming with kids too... You can almost always tell by their idiotic and immature takes on serious issues, as well as general comments. Sigh... What is a below 14 year old even doing with android phone and internet, for fvck sake?!! Modern parenting ehn...! SMH!!! |
This is great to see...! As long as IGR is on the rise, and domestic debt is not astronomically high, he should ride on. |
CoronaVirusPro:It wasn't the breakup that made him suicidal... It was the fear of imminent arrest and imprisonment. The useless cheating hoe had reported him to the authorities over his illegal side hustle. So, it wasn't enough that she broke his heart, she had to also destroy him totally. Sigh... Wahala wey men dey put themselves in the name of love. SMH. |
It wasn't just the toxic relationship sef...! Man was under intense and unusual pressure from all sides. Sigh... He chose death over prison and watching his sister die. |
Yet, the nation is poor...! We claim Nigeria is poor, but nothing in the way the states and federal governments operate reflects this poverty. Nigerian government spends exactly like wealthy nations do...! It's like dem use wastefulness take swear for una (both leaders and citizens)! |
NPFLADMIN:All it takes is one kidnap case, and one's entire life savings end in ransom payment. See, money isn't the only or main motivation for people to Japa. Many leave for better quality of life, change of environment, and better future for their kids. The problem with many of you Anti-Japa activists is that y'all think money is everything! Many people who left the country would never have left if security and healthcare didn't continue to deteriorate with the corrupt clowns you people keep electing. That's why the people who suffer and complain the most after relocating are the same money-minded dolts who care for nothing but making money at all costs... That's why they get disappointed out there. Most of you Nigerians worship money so much... It's just sad! Same reason many of you complain bitterly about taxation in developed nations... Because, y'all will rather earn a lot, evade taxes, and show off or pepper your fellow citizens: The Nigerian Dream! SMH!!! |
NonsenseRubbish:Now, you are being over-defensive, and straying towards ridiculous. ![]() Liam Neeson is a great actor; a legend in the game. However, the man is far from versatile! Any movie fan with pedestrian intelligence can point that out. Denzel, De Niro, Foxx, Cruise, etc, are versatile actors... Neeson is not! He has never been! The man will admit it too. So, relax!!! Listen... Denzel and De Niro, and even the best out there have been involved in movie projects that badly tanked... Do some research. The first step to a successful movie is the plot (writing and script)! That trumps everything else... Next is the quality of casting and directing. Wild Wild West had awesome actors like Will Smith, Will Arnett and others, yet failed epically. Troy was destroyed at the box office despite the great casts. Many more examples abound, to show that there are so many aspects of a movie that you don't joke with if you want a successful motion picture. See ehn... I don't just criticize for the fun of it. I love professionalism and quality all round. That's why I don't ever watch the other half of Nollywood ridiculously called 'Asabawood'. You are subjective and defensive, and I understand...! No biggie!!! You just can't take your level of cinematic appreciation being taken through higher and stricter scrutiny. There are movies I loved deeply, but they were shredded by critics and panned in the box offices... I read what they pointed out, and couldn't argue with the facts. This didn't stop me from being a fan of those movies and their crew. Remember there is always room for improvement... Art can never be 100 percent accepted no matter how great it is. Nollywood is trying (no need bringing in Hollywood)... They just need to sit down and write better stories. They should quit rushing out their projects. There are Hollywood movies that take up to 2 years just to edit! Only editing o! |
Oga, you don come dey shalaye too much...! You are clearly triggered by guilt. ![]() |
NonsenseRubbish:Liam Neeson is a one-trick pony who hasn't done anything meaningful since Taken 1. Denzel Washington and Roberto De Niro together would never have been able to save Slum King... Not with the quality of script and directing. I never said Nollywood was stagnant... That I criticize certain things about some of their films doesn't mean they are not growing. There is always room for improvement. Hollywood movies receive far more criticism than you can ever begin to imagine... Matter of fact, lots of people have made successful careers out of critiquing Hollywood movies. That's what makes Rotten tomatoes a very successful site sef. So, what are you on about?!! |
Na now day break Abi?!! Why was enough not enough while Buhari was in office?!! The loud noise y'all made about insecurity while Jonathan was in office suddenly simmered into a barely perceptible screech after your brother took over. Some of you are still defending Buhari's cluelessness approach till tomorrow. When you people are ready to stop playing politics with the safety and well-being of your citizens, you know what to do. |
Broveens42:The Trade was total and pure classic...! Kudos to the writers, researchers, and directing team. The movie raised the bar quite high... Such a pity that quality has not been replicated since then. ...And it didn't receive that much hype, funny enough. A Tribe Called Judah wasn't so bad... It's just a case of hype overshadowing actual quality. |
Iseoluwani:Calm down... I'm talking about Box Office numbers. ![]() Politics will take care of the rest for Aunty Funke! ![]() |
Jenifa is set to pack all the awards in her categories...! A Tribe Called Judah smashed all the numbers. Lateef for the top award for Jagun Jagun... Tho I know say politics no go let them give am. ![]() Slum King was an over hyped crap... After 2 episodes, I just had to accept defeat and allow my brain do more productive things. RMD's Black Book was a disappointing Joke! Sigh! In summary... Nollywood should spend more time and pay more attention to writing better and more robust stories, rather than spending all that money on good-looking actors and costumes or visual effects. The worst are their sequels... Fvck!!! Just few minutes into The Kujus Again, and I just shook my head. As for Merry Men, I was smarter this time around... I didn't bother watching at all... Wish I knew better when the other sequel came out. |
Asonaijaaso:A non-Nigerian arrested and detained in Nigeria?!! A wealthy one at that! Lol! Only the dull and gullible believe such nonsense tales. ![]() |
faceland:Stop na!!! ![]() |
Nbote:Seriously flogged...! The word 'Detained' has a whole world of meaning when it comes to Nigeria and people of wealth/influence. |
Escaped?!! LOL... Iffa hear! Person wey una escort go airport to board flight. ![]() Many dumb and gullible people will believe this gist sha. ![]() |
tochez24:You are even more naive and making weak excuses for a failed system of leadership. There's nothing complicated or difficult about tracing and tracking funds... In fact, it's easier than you think. The truth is that the will is not there. We are just an immoral and corrupt society with morally bankrupt systems. |
This man that does nothing but throw punchlines from a local pulpit. Nigga don use style dey trend for Social media. ![]() |
Lol... Mr. Wike a renown political harlot is gaslighting others! ![]() Not his fault sha... Without Dame Patience Jonathan, he would still be snatching ballot boxes. ![]() |
You can't tell me these Kidnappers get such large amounts of money, yet it can't be traced...! Abroad, every dime must be explained. You can't simply go from having nothing or little in your account, to spending millions or thousands, or even depositing it in your bank account without it being flagged. If we were not so morally corrupt as a nation, many would rethink crimes like kidnapping...! Cos, in the absence of a good enterprise to wash the stolen funds, such high stakes crimes are out of the question. |
papyjaypaul:That tells you they know what they're doing is WRONG! In the midst of their depravity, they know at some level that it is not normal, so they try to incorporate the normal. |
JooEeL:Most religious Nigerians are pathologically stupid. Sad fact. |
Yet, the minimum wage and income/earnings of most Nigerians remained the same within that time frame. In that same time frame, did Government expenditure reduce to accommodate the economic downturn??! Go figure! The perfect recipe to create the Poverty Capital of the Universe. ![]() Leadership is not exactly rocket science, ye religious and dull Nigerians! Quit electing corrupt idiots into sensitive offices. Hian!!! |
Sad... When I saw the video, I just knew that man was gone already. This cycle and pattern of celebrities dying broke and penniless makes no sense to me. We need to take this national health insurance thing seriously. |
immortalcrown:Honestly, it's as bad as Yahoo Plus, if not worse. Imagine allowing a man to raise another man's child for years. Haba! |
I learned that 30% there is an old stat... It should be well over 40% now. I insist that Paternity Fraud should be officially designated as an offense punishable by the Law. There should be a Jail Term and heavy fines. |
bitingcool:Peace of mind is everything... Not every family will guarantee you that. Many people are depressed and suicidal today because of family. Different strokes for different folks. Do what works for you. |
Op, marriage can be at any age...! Better to marry late and marry well with peace of mind, than marry early or in a hurry, then spend the rest of your life in regret. Meanwhile, marriage is not the ultimate in everyone's life... It is not meant for everyone. Do what works for you. |
Hezmatosky:I can see that... Still, the difference remains shocking. Makeup hides a world of things. |
Wait... Are you telling me those two pictures up there are the same woman?!! ![]() Sigh... How many women come really fine for this country these days without makeup?!! Meanwhile... The resemblance between MC Oluomo and that child is so much that DNA test is unnecessary. Chief Thug of Lagos, abeg take care of your pikin. ![]() |
