PrettyCrystal: An outrage has been sparked by internet users over a trending video of Nigeria U20 women team kneeling down to collect their match entitlements. In the video footage, one of the female players knelt down before the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Solomon Dalung and other officials as she counted the money paid to her.
The video has got many talking with many blasting the minister and other officials for allowing the players to kneel but others have argued that the players might have just knelt down out of their own will considering that the minister and the officials were sitting down.

Sprumbabafather: Don't mistake this administration to that of Goodluck Jonathan. There's nothing they cannot do to clamp down on free speech and association, even if it means building thousands of prisons to lock millions of Nigerians.
GuyfawkesAB: Lagos gave Jude an opportunity to become better and successful in life.
This clearly illustrate my opinion that Lagos made all of us. It's sheer stupidity for some people to claim that they made Lagos what it is today. Right from the late 19th century till now, Lagos has bee a bustling urban centre where everyone who came from the West, East, North and South had a great opportunity to become better and greater. It is only meet that the spend most of the money they had come to earn in the same Lagos. Anyone claiming they made Lagos should return to their villages to go and do the same magic.
Lagos still have the largest population of poor people in Nigeria,so it's virtually only 10% that are actually living fine in Lagos they rest are just deceiving themselves or are waiting for miracles to happen.
fatdon2: Did you ever know that citizenship could be bought outrightly in some parts of the world? Well if you don’t know you do and will also know why it has become the latest fantasies of the super-rich.
According to a report by Bloomberg, a second passport—or a third or fourth—has become another trophy for the ultra-wealthy and so for most of them, it is more for bragging rights.
When interviewed, Christian Kalin, chairman of Henley & Partners, a firm which provides citizenship advice and publishes rankings such as the Quality of Nationality Index opined that wealthy buyers “are looking for security”. “They want peace of mind in case of a revolution or other upheaval in their home countries”, he said. Many nations of the world, the U.S. included, allow migrant residents the chance to apply for citizenship only after meeting certain criteria but these only 10 countries permit other nationals to acquire outright citizenship which comes with a certain price. These prices may also require payment in the form of direct investment into their economy, typically in property or the setting up of a local business. Eight out of these ten countries are classified by the IMF as offshore financial centres, though Kalin said stability, not tax avoidance, is what influences most of the buyers. That and bragging rights. “If you have a yacht and two airplanes, the next thing to get is a Maltese passport,” he said. “It’s the latest status symbol. We’ve had clients who simply like to collect a few.”
Look at the so called white wedding of two Muslim families... What's the difference between this and a Christian wedding? Wedding gown tapered to show off the figure of the bride? Flower girls? Is this Islamic? I don't know shaaaa. Perhaps our Muslim brothers and sisters can educate us better.

sophsia62: Libyan coastguard has intercepted 156 migrants, including Nigerians, in two separate incidents as they tried to reach Europe by sea, the Navy said.
Navy spokesman Ayoub Qasim said that Libyan coastguard stopped a rubber boat carrying 116 migrants including five women off the western Libyan town of Zuwara.
He said that the migrants from different African nations had been transported to a sea base in the capital Tripoli.
Earlier, 40 migrants including eight women and a child were stopped aboard a rubber boat late Saturday also off Zuwara.
The 40 migrants included 19 Moroccans, 16 Nigerians, four Egyptians and a Syrian, the navy’s media centre said on its Facebook page.
In recent months, the Libyan coastguard has reported intercepting various vessels carrying hundreds of migrants heading to Europe via the Mediterranean Sea.
Libya has descended into chaos since the 2011 revolt that toppled long-time dictator Moamer Gaddafi.
The North African country has since emerged as a gateway to Europe for people fleeing war, persecution and poverty in their homelands.
Truth234: The Central Bank of Nigeria says it has recovered over N65bn from commercial banks in the country for wrongful deductions and charges from customers’ deposits and other transactions in the last six years.
The Acting Director, Corporate Communications, CBN, Mr Isaac Okorafor, stated this on Wednesday on the sidelines of a two-day fair with the theme: ‘Promoting Financial Stability and Economic Development’ for stakeholders in Asaba, Delta State.
Okorafor explained that the recovery was made between 2012 and now, stressing that the funds had since been returned to customers, who hitherto complained of wrongful charges and deductions by commercial banks.
“We have recovered and returned to customers over N65bn out of complaints by people over acts of treatment on customers, wrong charges, wrong deductions and others since 2012/2013 when we started,” he said.
He stated that the purpose of the fair was to have a face to face interaction with customers and critical stakeholders in order to understand their challenges and proffer solutions.
Okorafor added that hawking of various denominations of the naira was an offence punishable under the CBN Act of 2005, and warned that the apex bank would not tolerate the breach of its Act, and called on those involved, particularly its staff members, to desist from the practice as they would be dismissed if caught.
He, however, blamed the police for the lack of prosecution of offenders who were caught hawking naira during various raids in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Onitsha, Ibadan and other cities.
He stated, “The CBN is very committed to making sure that people do not hawk the naira, because it is an offence punishable under the CBN Act of 2005. We have made it clear to any of our staff involved in the practice that they will be dismissed.
“We have also made it clear to banks that any of them caught doing it will be severely punished. We are a regulator and not a law enforcement agency. It is the duty of the Nigerian Police to enforce the law. We have collaborated with them at different times.
“We have had raids in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Onitsha, Ibadan and so on, and we will continue to do that, and people have been caught and money confiscated. We are waiting on the police to begin to prosecute those people.”

Bilaludeen: A British man was found guilty on Wednesday of a plot to kill Prime Minister Theresa May.
He was caught by first detonating an explosive device to get into her Downing Street Office and then using a knife or a gun to attack her.
Naa’imur Rahman, 20, of North London, was convicted at the Old Bailey court of preparing to commit acts of terrorism.
Rahman planned to detonate an improvised explosive device at the gates of Downing Street and gain access to May’s office in the ensuing chaos and kill her, according to police.
No. 10 Downing Street is the official residence and office of British prime ministers.
It is heavily guarded and there is a gate at the end of the street where members of the public and tourists gather to get a glimpse of the house.
“We are talking about an individual that would have killed, injured and maimed a number of people including police officers and members of the public,’’ said Dean Haydon, head of the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command.
Britain suffered four deadly attacks last year and the head of the domestic spy agency MI5 said in May that a further 12 Islamist plots had been foiled since the first of these in March 2017.
The Downing Street plot was foiled when Rahman believed he was corresponding online with members of the Islamic State (IS) militant group while planning the alleged attack but was in fact talking to members of undercover officers from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and Britain’s MI5 Security Service.
Rahman was arrested in November 2017 shortly after meeting with undercover officers posing as IS members and collecting two dummy explosive devices.
Haydon said Rahman had been in contact with an uncle who had travelled to Syria and joined IS and who had encouraged his nephew to carry out attacks in Britain.
Rahman had been planning to carry out the attack for two years but his resolve was hardened when he heard that his uncle had been killed in a drone attack last summer, Haydon added.
Rahman was described by police as a drifter, who lived on friends’ sofas, and attempts to involve him in the government’s counter-extremism programme had failed. (Reuters/NAN)
