@tolu tolu001:Well, I agree with your argument, simply because your judgement is balanced. However Ajimobi have already proscribed NURTW. Now he would have sufficient time to really think and plan on a lasting solution before de-proscribing them. So for now, Ibadan should be relatively peaceful but they must proffer a lasting solution. Proscription is a temporary move. |
Wait pls! I dont understand where all these kudos for Ajimobi are coming from. This guy did exactly what Akala did back then. ACN criticized Akala for the proscription, infact they claimed that he did not have the right to do so because NURTW was a legal entity that has a constitutional right of association and existence, as a result, they accused Akala of breaching the law by infringing on the right of NURTW. Akala defended himself then that it was the only way to curb their excesses he then ordered the local government committees to take over. Akala then accused the chairman of ACN in the state (forgotten his name) of aspiring to be NURTW chairman if not, why was he so concerned with NURTW issue. That was funny though! I read Ajimobi's pronouncement very carefully, it is completely the same thing Akala did, no addition or subtraction. Proscription of NURTW and that the local government must take over the parks. Instead of people to begin to ask Ajimobi now that kindly explain why you decided to take a decision you have been critically against before u became governor. Just to let him know that hey! we have to be careful, the people are watching we can't seem to feed them with garbage, thats a check for him to sit tight. But instead, people began to hail him. Okay I will keep watching, for a lot of drama is still ahead. |
@tolu001This is getting out of hand with the incessant public disturbances and outright waste of innocent lives by members of the NURTW. I think the government of the day should proscribe the union in the interest of peace without favoring any faction like Akala did. They should take over the control of the motor parks with the revenue being generated for the government. Their is too much money circulating at the parks that's why they are killing one another and disrupting public peace. The government needs to take a drastic step to curb this menace and stop this wanton destruction of lives and properties. Now it is getting very interesting, You are asking Ajimobi to proscribe the Union just like Akala did But when Akala took that action, everyone called for his head, idiot, illiterate, dullard etc and this guy (Akala) said that it was the only way to curb their excesses, . Now if Ajimobi who had brutally critized Akala for proscribing the Union then, now goes ahead and proscribe them (doing the same thing he openely criticized Akala for) then he should cover his face. In fact, in SHAME. I believe that Ajimobi would come up with a clean strategy I believe so.He would talk to Tokyo, at least they are in good terms or in the alternative, mobilize the police to arrest auxillary and his boys under the excuse that they are the ones causing trouble, a tactical move to handicap Auxillary in favor of Tokyo (at least for his loyalty) to easily and peacefully take over. How can there be violence when Auxillary and his boys are in prison while Tokyo and his troupes are taking over. Although, violence will break out again after the release of Auxillary even if its after a year. That has been the case in Ibadan since way back There are many ways to doing that. Its all poiltics even Akala that adopted proscription was still supporting Eleweomo underneath, U think politician would do anything on plain mind? He would lose his seat the following day the moment he stops playing according to the game. That is why I pity people who would just decide to trust this one and hate the other. |
Well unfortunately I dont know where the story is starting from but I know that the argument all boils down at blind followership of a highly esteemed man that must never be questioned. The so called DADDY Adeboye is not the only one, there are many daddies. Pastors are very smart and their followers are very , to be polite, let me say "unsmart" I have studied these people objectively, they calculate on the basis of probabilities and draw conclusions on hypothesis, very simple!!! I laugh many times when I look at people both old an young, educatd and uneducated falling for these things. Let me give an instance out of many. Pastor Adeboye would say by "the next holy ghost night or (whatevr they call it) a barren woman who had been having difficulties with giving birth shall deliver" and there would be an earthquake of applause. But truly at the next camp night, women claiming that they had been barren would come and give testimonies even with their babies. Welldone Pastor, Daddy, Annointed, Baba, bla bla bla. But if we dare to do some brain drill, we may ask ourselves that the pastor said A barren woman would deliver but at the end of the day, many barren women would turn up? Why cant the pastor be more precise? is it not God telling him all these things as claimed? at least God must be the most precise entity in the universe. Another question, how would you not find many women popping up in such cases in a crowd of hundreds of thousans of people if not even millions? remember that about 70% of people who goes to these camp nights has one or two problems that they are hoping that would be solved there and between 60-70% are women. So tell me what are the top 5 problem of a woman? No matter how u want to arrange your top 5, the issue of marriage and childbirth would fall in between. So the probability of such occurrence can never be 0 or 1, It will be much more than 1. Hence the reason why the pastor is always getting it wrong when he says somebody and many are turning up. But they will still have defence for that argument, they would say when the pastor says somebody, he is not referring to one person, it coul be many, pointing to when the pastor would say "somebody shout allelluyaaa" and the whole crowd will shout so if he really ment somebody, only one person should have said alleluya, hmmm nice defense isnt it? Then such downplay of precision is the foundation upon which the entire fool factory is built. (When I say "we" I mean "me"but it does not really mean that I was referring to myself but could also be 'us" if you look at this statement, I have established an avenue to twist different meanings to whatever I say or do. That is the logic upon which these pastors operates. Conclusion: My write up is not nullifying being religiuos or believing in God. I am also not an atheist, I have religion nd I believe vry well in God but we must know clearly that being foolish is not a prerequisite to knowing God. Dont be lazy, be spiritully independent, read your holy books urself and interprete them with your common sense. For those who are always looking for miracles, those who really can not explore their brains and work things out except miracle, miracle and miracles, I am sure that those ones can never see sense in my argument God Bless |
Which tears? were they crying because of the love of the country? they were surely crying for themselves. |
@seanet and others attacking this guy. No one can rule out the possibility that he might be sponsored by PDP. But we have to be intelligent here, what is wrong if he is being sponsored by PDP? Dont you know that the beauty of democracy is opposition so that they would be exposing themselves? I keep telling people stop loving politicians like a man u fan will love his team, why are lovers of Fashola, Tinubu aor ACN reigning curses on he who is trying to criticise them. Obama has been under heavy criticism since more than a year now cos americans would not just love him because he is 1st black president bla bla bla (nonsense) no matter his performance, if they detect a slight fraud in his govt, then the love stops there so if any opposition comes up with any allegation, they will be interested in finding whether it is true because those people do not want to be fooled. Look, Lagos if care is not taken could after many years turn out a Fiasco. Whatever kind of corruption going underneath in Lagos government would be difficult to expose because the state is predominantly ACN so who would expose who? they have monopoly of governance and politics in the state. Some are saying he should report to EFCC EFCC is a toothless dog, so u believe in EFCC? Do u have an idea of what goes on in EFCC secretariat? look there are many big boys in this country who can never be scared of EFCC because they are more corrupt than the thieves they are hunting.Well the guy mentioned many names, many addresses and quoted dates, I am a little convinced that there are elements of truth in his write up but there is nothing anyone will do with tyhis for now, it is only time that can uncover this kind of thing because Tinubu is very much on top of his game right now and he seem to be telling people like gbenga pro CATCH ME IF YOU CAN!!! |
Ajimobi, Free Health!!! I am not convinced until he gets it done. I have taken my time to study Nigerian politicians, they have a constant strategy they all use, I wonder if people aren't observing the same. I will not talk about politicians that people naturally do not like but what about those ones people expected so much from? Look at Oshiomhole in his early months as governor, he promised plenty of things, even backing it up with calculations and strategies to achieving that. Almost everyday on paper, you will read comments of oshiomhole doing the smart and sweet talks on how Edo state will never remain the same in his own regime. but as time goes on he became more silent, and more silent when he apparently realized that he wasnt living up to his promises, the motivation for daily sweet talks will of course fade away, otherwise he would just catalyze the ppl of the state to observing his shortcomings earlier than desired. The same thing to Fayemi, infact that guy ran down very fast, people are still waiting to seeing the governance with a difference he has promised. Aregbeshola is currently on the same phase, infact to make his own matters was he sweet talks only on political games they play amongst themselves never on how he would develop the state. Conclusion: If Ajimobi is saying free this free that, I cant be impressed, its just the phase, lets see what begins to happen after some 6-12 months, if he is keeping it real then I may begin to relax on my vexing. But for me I would only follow any politician objectively not based on hoping and hoping, or because he speaks clean english, I told people this same thing when they were hoping too much on Dimeji Bankole because he was young and could speak good english but I was rubbished I hope now they have seen clearly. To this end, I av realised that Nigerians are like women who wants to hear sweet things until their heart is broken and if u try rescuing them by telling them some hard truth, they will HATE u. |
@tsjkii, I have said all I wanna say about poly student issue, but hey! you mention the tokyo issue? well u may be living in Ibadan but obviously u lack knowledge of the issue you have raised. I wonder what is going on here? why are you getting a scenario that unfolded not long ago completely wrong? Okay let me explain to you 1) Akala suppressed tokyo by removing him as NURTW after discovering that he apparently was working for ACN. he then enthroned Eleweomo who was loyal to him. 2) ACN criticised Akala brutally and constantly for removing tokyo and asked him to reverse the decision and maintain the status quo. Akala said he was the governor of the state and therefore ACN had no business in trying to share governance and decision making with him 3) ACN and tokyo headed to the court, Tokyo won and Akala refused to respect court order because doing so (reinstating tokyo) will amount to surrendering his arsenal to ACN against whom he would contest in the election that was impending. 4) To that development, Tokyo resolved to taking over the leadership of NURTW by force since the court has cleared him hence the reason for frequent clash between both factions towards the elections 5)ACN continued to press and capitalised on that for criticisms against Akala, 6) People hated Akala for he seemed apparently causing troubles and unrest in the state 7) Akala lost the election and knowing fully well that Ajimobi will of course remove the restrictions on Tokyo immediately he became governor, he Akala decided to order same before leaving office, a tactical way of stealing the glory of such decision from Ajimobi Consequent upon Akala's order, the formally Eleweomo now Auxillary's faction refused still to vacate the leadership mantle in the parks and in the NURTW's usual manner, they resorted to violence again. Conclusion: I dont know how old u were in the 90s and in the early 2000s, you should know that NURTW in Ibadan has never settled any score without violence and unfortunately such violence have always been having political undertones. So for u to think that Akala has forced a Tokyo the people dont want shows ur total misunderstanding of the issue u delved into, what Akala has been blamed for for a long time was removal of tokyo and support for Elewomo, so if u are now saying that he has reinstated a tokyo that people do not want, infact, then it must be that the issue is too complex for u to understand. Okay ask yourself, has Ajimobi condemned Tokyo for those violent clashes apart from the CP's comments? Dont u imagine how much noise ACN would have made in this case if it was the time when they were still seeking for peoples support and votes? Finally, i dont live in Ibadan, infact not even in Nigeria but I am an Ibadan guy and I am dissappointed that I am explaining all these things to you. |
@poster, you have only emphasised on roads, well any governor that is repairing and opening up new roads is doing a wise thing because it is essential to economic development of those places but I know a couple of other governors who have also constructed roads impressively in their states but people rejected them absolutely and it got me then thinking that Nigerians are beginning to smarten up by asking much more than roads from these governors. But if Mimiko is applauded this much for constructing roads, hmm, well I wont jump to conclusions, this is just my observation |
Hey man, at 26, in Nigeria for a guy, you need some 3-4 more years to be considered very ripe for marriage. But well it is not strange at all if you decide to marry now but let me tell you, many who are telling you to go ahead are not giving you the best of advice. Even in the west, it is not a common thing like you see in movies or read in the magazines and in cases where that happens, the relationship doesnt last. what is more common is a difference of two/three years for the lady over the guy amongst the western eauropeans. But now you are 26 and the lady is 34, in Nigeria? U need to watch over your shoulder meehn. My advice, if u still want to gp ahead because u are very in love, wait a litlle longer like one more year, in order to have sufficient time to learn about that lady much much more, if thereafter you have discoverd nothing to scare you, you may then go ahead. As for me, if you were my brother, I would advise you to back off outrightly!!!. |
I would advise people to always learn more about an issue before jumping to conclusions. This is how it happened 1)Akala raised their fees sometimes ago, the students protested and he (Akala) said it was inevitable. (So the students were unhappy). 2)The Academic and Non Academic staff of Polytechnic applauded Akala for raising the fee because the institution would earn more and so there long overdue increase in salary can be implemented and there would be funds to do other things. (So the staffs were happy) That was the standing of things till Ajimobi came in 3) Ajimobi promised the students that he will announce a reduction of their tuition fee by 50% during his inauguration if he was voted in and so (Poly Student worked en masse for the election of Ajimobi). He said Akala had no reason to raise their fees in the 1st place that he was just a thief who was looking for an avenue to steal more money. (So the student became happy again) 4) The staff of Ibadan poly out of fear that Ajimobi might make good his promise ordered the student to pay a total amount of their tuition and gave them a one week ultimatum or else those who did not pay would cease to be bonafide students forthwith. The student were not baffled with the school's managements ultimatum because they thought it would be of no effect since Ajimobi would announce a reduction at his inauguration. 5) At the inauguration against his promise, Ajimobi did not announce a reduction and the ultimatum was running, therefore they thought that there was a problem that needs urgent interference, hence they headed to Ajimobi for a rescue, more so, he was the one who promised them. 6) The population of the protesting students was overwhelming and of course the overzealous security personnels who have just been detailed to protect a new governor would want to due their jobs very well. As a result, they beat the guys and stripped the ladies naked. Conclusion: The students might not be totally right but I think that they should not be called idiots and morons because their action was consequent upon a development that was building up. Lastly, lets ask ourselves, why hasn't Ajimobi made any comment to this development? He understands the reason why the student did what they did more than ordinary people who doesnt know what has transpired does, so he needs sometime to really think what next he would say to these students. |
Well not trying to run Rochas down but to say you will forfeit your monthly salary in order to be able to run free education is way out of line. What can his monthly salary cater for out of the much he needs to run a free education in the state? The monthly salary of any governor in Nigeria is paltry to their monthly allowances and other benefits. Even an ordinary commissioner or SA, talk less of a governor. This is not to say that its a signal that Rochas would not perform but he didnt sound realistic. Unless the poster has quoted him wrongly. |
Nigerians need to grow up with the way they criticise. As I also do not agree with the ball party idea of Gej but for some people to be saying he should never where suit is just insane. People just hate for no reason. I have also experienced it personally when people will just hate for no reason most especially when you are doing better and better than them. There is nothing wrong if Gej and his wife wants to ball but they should have done that for example on invitation by another president from the western world. Then the situation would be understandable, although I know that some cocky headeds will still call them monkeys but as for me there would have been no objection in such case. |
It is nothing spectacular. Lam adeshina did the same thing, infact he didnt go to the government house until after 2 months. Ladoja did exactly the same and in the case of Akala, he even ordered a renovation of the office before settling down after the election in 2007. I can say that it is simply a lesson Ajimobi learnt from his predecessors. |
But when Akala took that action, everyone called for his head, idiot, illiterate, dullard etc and this guy (Akala) said that it was the only way to curb their excesses, . Now if Ajimobi who had brutally critized Akala for proscribing the Union then, now goes ahead and proscribe them (doing the same thing he openely criticized Akala for) then he should cover his face. In fact, in SHAME. I believe that Ajimobi would come up with a clean strategy I believe so.
if you look at this statement, I have established an avenue to twist different meanings to whatever I say or do. That is the logic upon which these pastors operates.
Consequent upon Akala's order, the formally Eleweomo now Auxillary's faction refused still to vacate the leadership mantle in the parks and in the NURTW's usual manner, they resorted to violence again.
