Castos: 35000 ft in the air when one engine failed!!!! And u no fearThe only thing you will notice is the noise reduction and the reduced time flight (since we had to land immediately). true my heart beat increased, but the difference here is we were high up in the air. This case no even take off I've read of cases where both engines failed (well, fuel finish) at 40,000ft and the pilot still glided his aircraft to the ground safely |
toba: lm getting scared of this local planes. what if the engine failed whilst the plane was on air? wouldnt that have resulted into another black sun?no it wouldn't. even when both engines fail, an aircraft still has a chance of landing safe if there's an airport within range. of course it is important to note that engine failure after V1 ("no return" speed) might lead to an inevitable crash |
I dont see what is scary about this . they didn't even take off, i'm sure he(pilot) noticed during taxi.I've been 35000 ft in the air when one engine failed! we landed flawlessly. make una stop to dey too fear! we all die someday. make good use of the limited time you have ![]() |
stagger: Forget this your nonsense yarn mister man. Did Tee Mac give you any kobo from the millions he made supplying stones for the construction projects? So if he calls Bishop a fraud, why can't he return the money he made from those deals since the money is supposed to be "dirty" money?Tee Mac never claimed to be a man of god neither did your bishop give you anything from the millions he raked in ![]() |
From the comments I've read so far (bar a few that made sense), I don't see Nigeria escaping the shackles of religion at least for another 2 generation |
Fhemmmy: Chief, what you saying is not what we are saying, forget about when the airbag was made to be standard feature, the point remains that, this is 2012 and Nigeria and her govt is still allowing people to sell brand new rides with no airbags or just 2 airbags, that is rubbish and besides, there are more that are missing in those "Brand New" rides sold in Nigeria . .. they are nothing but moving coffins on wheelsI still disagree with you. why not point out those things "missing" here. It seems all we've done is argue about airbag and no airbag. You fail to realise that airbags only deploy at certain speeds with certain impacts. Some statistics should always follow the need for added airbags. Asides multiple airbags, i'm confident everything else is an accessory |
chasy16: Shut up again, u can bring on ur insults and It won't matter to me. Who are the kids u r refering to?whats with all the unprovoked attack? are you one of the kids he is talking about? hmmmm or is it that time of the month? ![]() |

yea. atheists generally know more about religion than many religious people do. A number of polls have shown this clearly with some questions asked and atheists scoring highest. I'm too lazy to find the original poll carried out by the "The PEW forum on religion and public life" but here's a summary of the result https://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2010/09/28/us/28religion/28religion-articleInline.jpg |
Indulge me.
why not present your specific case and lets use my write up above to argue right from wrong? ![]() |
onetrack: For me (atheist), morality is generally relative but there are some absolutes, for example, I can't think of any circumstances for which human sacrifice could be justified (assuming that the victim is an innocent person). In fact human sacrifice has only occurred as a matter of religious belief anyway....Exactly my point when I talk about environment of up bringing. Take religion away from the equation and sacrifice would probably not be a word. Religion brought about the sacrifice argument. So I'll still say absolute morality does not exist |
@Area_boy Before we go to specific cases, would say your moral compass dictates a black and white view or shades of grey?
you obviously didn't read my post ![]() |
why not take you time and research Sam Harris? He did a great job explaining objective morality and absolutism in a way you can clearly understand In life, nothing is really ever clear cut and morality is not excluded. Everyone is kinda different in this particularly the blurred out parts of morality for example abortion and homosexuality. My stance on both issues will surely vary from other atheists and others don't even bother about it. In my view, there is no such thing as moral absolutism cos every culture will do something another culture find abominable. some may argue that this can only be so with religion around, I'll rather argue along the lines of growing conditions/environment for children. The environment a child grows up in will build his/her moral compass for life in most cases Even Christians do not have absolute morality, although they preach it. I can imagine loads of scenarios where they'll toss their moral framework out the window and deal with that situation purely on what is inherent in them. |
Op, you'll get a lot of people interested if you just whip out your camera phone, record a video of you trying this device out, upload to youtube and link it here. Makes for good marketing strategy |

hmmmmm. I now understand your argument clearly. it is true that substandard products fly through the Nigerian market easily since we don't have a decent agency to check this. It is also important to note that substandard products (at cheaper price) helps a developing country or a growing economy get a reasonable foothold in the global scale. Take Germany for instance, in the early part of the 20th century German products were always substandard and cheaply made compared to their neighbours. This helped them go through the 1930's recession and also escape from the great depression america suffered as well as fuelling their economy in preparation for Hitler's war. Maybe we are looking for quality too soon in Nigeria? I have seen Toyota Hilux in Asia/Europe and I must say the Nigerian equivalent is rubbish compared to them in the same way a German product will outclass any of them. Funny thing is we are an import based economy and I still cant understand why Local accredited dealers will opt for substandard (actually I do, Profit). The questions is, how would they perform in a crash test (frontal, side and rear impact)? In the case of Dagrin (pardon my spelling), he had a Nissan Altima or Maxima and that must have been American spec, so still doesn't explain the difference in substandard and above standard cars. On the issue of whether this is a good idea or not? My answer is Yes and No; - Just like everything else in Nigeria, we seem to do them haphazardly in the sense that such regulations must also ensure that we can get the same build/safety quality the American spec would have from our local dealers. - So, since we don't have a good system in place to tackle this, it then becomes a bad idea to impose such ludicrous taxes on import. Lexus isn't just a Toyota, it is a Toyota with a difference. A Toyota built to rival the likes of Mercedes, BMW and Audi. Since brand new Toyota imports into Nigeria costs that much, It would make sense to buy a good fairly used older model of Lexus. I doubt the tax imposed on a 2010 Lexus will be the same on a 2012 Toyota or is it? |
After reading through three pages, It is safe to conclude that: In the business of religious brainwashing, some can escape and become rational thinkers while others are brainwashed for life ![]() |

aaidel: Hmmmm but sometimes you get cars from private dealers that are cheaper than the toyota accredited dealers and besides it seems a if u want to discourage people buying second hand accident cars then duty should be cheaper on new cars to make them more affordableYea, makes sense. But from Fhemmy's contribution, it seems the govt is trying to help local car dealership grow. If everyone can afford an American car, then local dealers will suffer (like everything else in Nigeria, we hate local and love foreign). A country like Malaysia imposes a 300% tax on foreign cars (as at 2006) in order to help Proton and the rest sell well. So I can understand FG's stance on imposing such high tax (which never occurred to me until Fhemmy cleared it up). This begs another question, why then will the local Toyota accredited dealers sell at double the MSRP in America? Logistics? or tax? or both? or simply due to lack of regulation? Having said that, I still disagree with Fhemmy on the issue of sub-standard cars. The cars a pretty much the same bar accessories**. The chassis, composites and body work is standard from Toyota. Every other addition is merely an accessory as is evident with Hiace, Hilux and some other brands. I can understand the Canadians when the decide to get the highest quality in terms of driving aid and accessories. If you've seen the Canadian winter, you'll understand why they need such standards. It all comes down to buying a 2-3year old low mileage car with a perfect history rather than hustling for a brand new. Cos it makes no sense for me to buy a 2012 Camry for over 6million, when I can get a 2010 Lexus gs350(with Mark Levinson audio) for less that price. No brainer ** It is important to note however that I'm not certain about the braking system as standard since this is factored into the overall safety rating of the car. Conversely, I remember when Toyota had recalls for their camry and corolla brands due to brake issues, My friend with his brand new corolla had the same braking problem and had to take it for an upgrade. His Toyota was bought from the Nigerian dealer, so it is fair to reach two conclusions 1) The standard crucial safety features are universal, or 2) Nigerian Dealers offer Higher safety at higher prices |
seriallink: ^^^ You are the one who needs help, I'm psychologically balanced thanks.why do you swallow everything you are told? Try do some reading on the history or origin of ywhw and you'll change your mind (I doubt that though) Your god is one of infinite paradox.
