^^ That's really interesting to know! But somehow I cant help but feel it is just economic reasons wrapped around the disguise of safety and environment |
Well, i've never been impressed by the 2003-2007 accord. Particularly the v6 However i'm surprised they are recalling the TL(2007-2008) too? that's on a totally different platform from the accord. Strange! That means no more Type-S TL for me ![]() |
Fhemmmy: I think that is a good questions that could be directed to the Nigerian govt and their customs dept. When you say below safety standard, do you mean Toyota will knowingly sell a car that isnt up to international standards in Nigeria? All in the name of profit? I strongly doubt that! Maybe you mean lower luxury options? Cos then we all know Americans are the luxury crazy ones. European models still cant compare with the Americans in that sense. So maybe the question could be, is the extra luxury option really that much worth it? |
That's Dante with his double edged sword in devil may cry! LoL! Your messiah hasn't got sh1t on Dante!!! Dante will easily fck him up ![]() As usual, you guys will attribute things that sound silly to "symbolicism". But then read the rest literally! Better make up your minds which way to follow your "word of god" Edit! I won't need to laugh when d trumpets sound. I'll grab my acoustic guitar and join them. Bet we'll make a lovely tune ![]() |
seriallink: Haha! Keep deceiving yourself heathen! The Lord is coming for your azz with the double-edged swordIts funny how he wouldn't come with an F16 eagle or a GPMG. Rather a flimsy double edged sword!! LOL. you think this is DMC where Dante is owning everyone with his sword?? lol. The whole second coming is hogwash! open your eyes to see through those silly 1st century lies ![]() https://i2.listal.com/image/2459607/500full.jpg Double edged sword!! LOL ![]() |
tchidi: I hereby approve the union of cordismary and Wo-Bem!! Una story no just gree me understand! Those in favour say AYE!!AYE!!! |
Goldieluks: He was verbally abusive. That's a lady way of saying a man talks too much ![]() |
dabriggs: First I did not say the human specie was the most complex. My logic is if I kept parts of a car and allowed it by chance to form a car,it woulnt. It would take an inteliigent being to do this and make a car.Firstly, that is wrong because you are an evidence to prove it can. It is easy to use the blind watch maker analogy to describe the creator of the universe. However you enter an infinite loop of regress asking who created the creator. You cant stop at one place and say "I don't know". Why not stop at the start with that same conclusion rather than fill it up with a god and then stop there? Now on your first statement, let us rewind the clock of time shall we? back to the earliest men that had no cars or any form of technological device. would you then have this analogy to use? |
Simple answer to your question is a resounding YES! we can be ethical without religion (or as the popular debate "we can be moral without religion" ) From your logic, you can see why this is true. Every religion has one or two things that conflict with the other while conflicting with what we deem right or wrong. Take the Abrahamic religions for example. It calls for the killing of homosexuals, encourages misogyny and slavery. Today we mostly disregard those texts, Why? Simply because we have inbuilt morality in us to judge those texts and deem them inadequate or out-rightly wrong. So yea, we are our own moral compass and not any religious text/teaching. The realisation of this will make us responsible for our own actions and not hide underneath the seemingly evil/sadist cloak that is religion |
it is funny how the popular Jewish god doesn't have a name and people tend to give "him" whatever name they choose! Says a lot about his/her/its origin. |
coming from a romance section "hater", i did enjoy the wooing competition! It was a good laugh watching from the sidelines yesterday! cant wait for the return leg ![]() Thumbs up D-Explorer!!! |
femmy2010:Thanks for the input! That's why I had to ask cos it is quite puzzling. But why so freaking expensive? I'm guessing 1.7mil for xle camry or so?. That indeed does fill up the gap! but will only make business difficult for small scale retailers when outlets like Honda place for example can compete with that prize and offer after sales service and plenty extras! |
jerseyboy: OBAMA IS A MUSLIM.and you are a cvnt |
13yrs VW Beetle ![]() good times |
I'm sick and tired of all these speculations! Why cant they tell us what exactly is wrong with her ![]() From food poisoning to Appendicitis to ruptured appendicitis to tummy tuck and now parkinson's? Only in Nigeria will a leader be sick in the hospital and they hide it like we are the ones making them sick?? ![]() |
welcome to the world of women. 90% of their actions are heart based and not head based |
lol...........Ok let us settle this argument for once How do you reach the conclusion that the message you just typed is the product of a mind? No one knows what happened before you started typing. Whatever causes you to type is unknown. No one knows what went on with you before your message appeared, how can you claim that you are capable of thought? Is this some kind of faith without evidence?
Are you now stealing ideas from Sam Harris to support your faith ? Fail! ![]() |
I just wonder why new model cars are ridiculously expensive on Nairaland (and I'm guessing most of Nigeria). I'm not a car dealer so I wouldn't know all the intricate details of making a profit and the overheads involved. Example, I saw a brand new Camry LE for 6.1 million Naira. While the MSRP is at $22,500 (roughly 3.6 million Naira). lets be generous and say shipping and clearance is 1 million naira. That's about 1.5m left, all that is profit? or am I missing some hidden charge? The same is evident for most new models! or are we selling it along with the hype of owning a "special" car? ![]() |
And yet they will all claim that morality can only come from god! right ![]() |
Lol, what does not correspond to scriptural teachings? Which of these contradicts scripture? 1. There is a supernatural realm that transcends space and time. 2. God is the ultimate being and is supernatural 3. God created the universe.
We are now back to square one again! The same reason we don't believe in your god are the reasons you use to support his existence. I doubt simply logic can be twisted any worse than you have |
Deep Sight: I don't think you have any idea what was being discussed. Issue was if space was created by the big bang. Your words indicate that you agree with me that there must have been pre existing space for the expansion to occur. That's where I mean you agree with me, and not on your obvious contradiction.Exactly what I'm not saying. The bigb@ng created the space we know now. how big that space time fabric could possibly be after the b@ng is what we don't know. hence we have the term "observable universe". So the expanding galaxies we notice today still expand in that space time fabric created. Since matter is contained within space and time. We cant quantify what exists outside that as "nothing" because "nothing" cannot exist indeed (as you rightly pointed out). Problem is, You cannot fill up the gap of what science doesn't know with only logic and no experiment. |
Deep Sight: Theism and Religion are not the same words for a reason.you can end up fooling others about theism and religion but not me. Call a bar of chocolate what it is and not an energy bar. "I actually entirely agree with you" but the bold contradicts the underlined. In a sense what you believe in is bulldung then? since we agree on the same thing that contradicts itself make up ur bloody mind and stop confusing yourself and others |
Deep Sight: I am not religious. I subscribe to no religion and so I have no idea what you are on about. So I'm going mad now abi? Don't deny your theistic faith my friend! anyway here is where you're making a mistake - We all agree the big b@ng created space, time and matter, before then there was a singularity (at least that's what they say). Now after the b@ng, the expanding matter had to go where?. Space time fabric was created at that instance along with everything else in it. The limits of this fabric is still unknown. Beyond our observable universe, we have no idea what exists there. It is then safe to assume that the expanding galaxies indeed have somewhere to expand to. |
Deep Sight: It is illogical to encapsulate the infinite in the finite. As such God cannot be encapsulated as a man.stop with this half baked arguments and line of ideology! It gets irritating after a while! Your Abraham god was made up by man period! if a "god" does indeed exist, he isn't what we think him to be. Why you stay here and argue about singularities and the expanding universe (which by the way, you have all muddled up), you fail to realise that science accounts for everything up to milli milli milli seconds after the big bang. what happen at t = 0 remains a mystery. Taking all they have discovered with years and in fact centuries of research as support for you god is downright silly, cheap, and childish to say the least. Come up with your own theories oh religious ones! Stop using what science gave us to defend big daddy boss! (he is even too proud to tell you his name) The earlier you accept that your religion is one of faith and nothing else, the better for you! Science and religion are incompatible! Quote me anywhere, area_boy said it ![]() |
LOL greedy dutch! hoe gaat het!!!! ![]() |
The offering of the "poor" cannot build a University
are you on a medication?? Even ten naira from a member every Sunday will be attributed to funding a university. we are not talking tens of people here but thousands |
davidylan: and your proof of this is? Until you show me where i havent made sense then i conclude you are merely bleating in frustration. Go sit down dude or take a cold shower. Let those who actually have something cerebral to contribute have the floor. you've always been nothing but a wingman. Egging the others on, chipping in with an abuse here and there but never really taking a stand on anything... apparently because you have pretty much no core when it comes to your alleged convictions.and this is coming from you? the quack geneticist that says telomere to telomere fusion is impossible only to come back to another post and deny saying that! David David David you crack me up |
davidylan: Ah i actually love this line of reasoning. Now if only we could extend it to the long sleep-inducing list of stuff atheists like you constantly regale us about evolution, abiogenesis... you know those things that you all talk about already assuming that they exist without ever showing us how. You people generally start from the wrong place. It is simple, there is no way, from the very first, our resident magicians (popularly known as pseudo-scientists) could determine that evolution was true. It never happened. How could RNA just appear from primordial soup? It is unverifiable. Just like me saying a monkey is a product of millions of years of mutating bacteria that we cannot replicate. Its unverifiable, we can thus dismiss all your claims as nonsense.lol! Davidylan appears again! speaking of magicians I guess all the debunk potion we gave you has worn off and you're back for a fresh brew . I'll drink to that. Like every evolutionary biologist will tell you, the problem is not whether we evolved from simple organisms (there is overwhelming evidence to prove this). Rather that we came from a primordial soup. Now this is one of many other suggestions to what the origin of the first organisms must have been. Other ideas believe comets full of water and simple life organisms crashed to earth and blossomed to what we have now. No one will tell you either of these is a fact, but they will present you with reasonable evidence to defend their position. Having said this, you do know scientists have been able to reproduce amino acids from a combination of gasses and an electric charge? Give them more time and they'll find the missing piece. Your idea to drop everything simply because one piece doesn't add up is simply ludicrous. Einstein's equation of general relativity didn't add up either at first when he used the cosmological constant. A few years later with plenty experimenting and observation, they fixed that problem and it all adds up perfectly on the right hand side of that equation. Imagine if he took your approach now to dump everything cos one little piece didn't add up? You will make a good scientist if you didn't substitute god where your understanding stops. Your solution (or lack of it) leaves us worse of from where we started. Daddy big boss made everything happen? lol I need not elaborate more on this. damn!!! I just saw the finest booty walk past downstairs my window!! now i've lost my chain of thought! ![]() |
As much as our govt. is seemingly failing us in terms of infrastructure, Such disasters are not out of place the link below will show you a video of the cities in the UK as of yesterday after the miserable rain and unbelievable winds we had yesterday http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19710183 |
@op Don't listen to the negative comments here, But I will advice you to plan properly before you try such a journey. Train yourself and know your limits. Start with something small first! and give it a tag for charity or a walk for peace or corruption or a "save Nigeria" walk. Then build up to the probable 2months walk from Lagos to your target destination. |
