Dude, the opinions you get here are pretty consistent. Move on. The lady needs a "generous" man. That means a made man. The hazard of her desire is that she will consistently fall for married men. Because in 9ja of today with so much youth unemployment, most youths are not well off to meet her needs. See her attitude as an inspiration to work hard and "blow" as you put it. It appears you have very little experience with ladies. You have met a lady only once and you already knew her "generous" ex-lover story. That should have prepared you for the scenario that followed. Love is not what it used to be. Instead of being blind, love now has an electron microscope. ![]() |
Not nice if true. |
We do not know exact circumstances. I do not think it is like throwing a banquet for him. My only concern is that the visit is too frequent. And he should purposely refuse to eat sometimes. Even if he's starving. But ladies and gentlemen please advice women also not to accept money from boyfriends too. Just like you condemn this act here. Thank you. |
Leetunechi:Good luck to you. Hope her barracks bf does not redesign your face for you. ![]() |
Dammylois:But I still wonder why a modern lady like her should just let it slide. It makes her come across as incredible. If she can say it on twitter describing location of the hospital, why not help spare other women such an ordeal? She should have reported it officially so that other victims of same doctor/hospital can summon courage to say #MeToo. |

ubunja:Something guys raising other people's kids should take note of. Often when kids grow up, they will only remember what you did not do for them, not the very many good things you did. They will feel the absent dad would have done better. The irony. There are exceptions, but above is the norm. |
Dammylois:I wonder o. A lady being examined by a male doc without a chaperone? Where is that done these days when not an emergency? Anyway in 9ja we allow all sorts of things to happen. |
Very good. He should be reward. We all scold the police. When they do well we should hail them too. |
This is fairly common. A VP shunt done quickly enough will prevent the baby having long lasting brain injury. This should be fairly standard stuff. |
xdos:Very true sadly. We cut corners too much. People do not take correction most times. We need to start enforcing health & safety rules. We always end saying it is the will of God. Probably no insurance to give his family some succor. RIP to him. |
1Sharon:My dear, I guess he just wanted to be a bit dramatic about it. EDD is never a surprise in this day and age. Unless baby comes earlier than EDD. It would be better to just say I am broke. I could not raise the money planned to raise due to harsh economy. Now there is no way of us to verify how authentic he is. Since he's obviously shy to use his regular moniker. We cannot know if he's an old Nairalander or not. Nlers can be very generous but only if genuine. |
olalat:Lol. They just quote & misquote the Bible any how. Ask him the only Commandment that promises an earthly reward, he will not know that it is about honouring your father and your mother. ![]() |
Uyi168:I nor blame you sir. From my bad experience every guy should do same. Even if the girl is very young. Some have ruined their womb as young as 15 years old. Due to roadside/quack abortion. I have narrated my experience here in the past. Although the pregnancy might not even be yours. Since around 35% of firstborn kids belong to another man. It is then your choice if you will do DNA test if the first child is not your spitting image. ![]() A relative's three kids turned out not to his. Many stories out there. |
DoTheNeedful:It is a tourist country. They need orisirisi to attract tourists. ![]() |
shekauvsbuhari:That woman does not deserve the title "Mother". But she thinks she can come back in the future and entice the kids with money. Sadly it works. Blood is thicker than water. A relative's wife abandoned him & their two kids when her hubby was going through a bad patch. She followed another man. Her hubby deeply loved her and he fell into depression. She also left the second hubby and traveled abroad years later. Around 15 years after abandoning the kids, she began sending them money through her mother (kids' maternal grandmother). The same grandmother who never looked for the kids all those years. The kids (now young adults) began going close to grandmother because of money. The kids eventually left the paternal family that looked after them once enough money was coming. Even though the kids always vowed to shun their mother if she ever comes looking for them. But alas, money answereth all things. |
Zanas:They will say the guy was a tyrant, impotent, has a small dickus, was abusing/maltreating her, he wanted too much sex, he did not give her enough sex, the man must be too local/not up to her standard as an ordinary trader, it was evil to make her stop her job and open a business branch for her, she finally chose her true love which is her right, etc. They will surely find something the man did wrong. Only the lady is an angel. If you ask them what the little boy also did to be abandoned, they will tell you she had to leave the boy in order to completely put the traumatic marriage behind her. Since the little boy will always remind her of the tyrant hubby. They will also argue that the woman cannot be that heartless to leave the child outside on his own. She must have put him in care of a lovely caring neighbor before leaving. A woman can do no wrong in their worldview. ![]() |
sarrki:Sarrki be honest for once. If one deranged herdsman kills someone now and then, they would not be adjudged as the 44th terrorist group in the world. The lady that murdered her hubby in the North recently, nobody used it to call all Northern women terrorists. Let's not distract from the horrors of Fulani herdsmen terrorism. No, we are not naturally wicked in Nigeria. What we have are the symptoms of a failed society. A society torn between African values & so called modernity, between extreme poverty on one hand and obscene wealth of the few on another, between African traditional beliefs and Abrahamic Middle Eastern religions etc. At the end we're neither here nor there. In a state of confusion. All without social safety net. Yes even rich countries have criminals and other social problems like drug and substance abuse. But the system does its best to help. Let us be objective. |
Actually he's an Ijesha man. Only the warped nature of 9ja makes it a big deal. |
Lol. Rip off. |
Vyolet:This is simply gastrochisis/omphalocele. It is just developmental defect of abdominal wall especially around the navel area and possibly error in some abdominal organs. It is not that rare. I wonder why this is considered strange. It is well known. If surgery is done well survival rate is very good. |
princeade86:We have a military constitution. Put in place by Abubakar. But NASS found that it benefits them too. So they left the money bits untouched. A very flawed Constitution that guarantees ex-leaders/VPs even medical treatment abroad, new cars every few years, a funded office and staff, housing, etc. Some of the perks extend to their families too. All that in a country of N18,000 minimum wage that is not even regular and some pensioners collect N5,000 a month. |
Angy55:How many men or women date only one person in their lifetime and get married to same? Most will date around 5 to 20 before they marry. Others do not end up in marriage for many reasons. Girls multiple date more guys now than guys do. Especially in this harsh economy. Reason why around 35% of first born kids and 25% of all kids belong to another man outside. Men hacking into social media accounts of wives & girlfriends has revealed VERY MANY things. And DNA test too. But women are always quick to pin the fault on men still: he's not good in bed, he's impotent, he's not caring so I went out to another man. But they forget there is something called divorce/separation/breaking up if not happy with your man/hubby/bf. So not all women are necessarily a beacon of trust. There is enough blame to go round. |
PrecisionFx:I guess you are not that exposed to know. If something is expensive, it is only in relation to average income. My error there....I meant a plate of food is more expensive in Cotonou than Lagos/Nigeria. Cost of living is very high in Switzerland for example. But incomes are high too. Which consistently makes Switzerland to be rated as one the countries with high living standard/QoL. Things happen for a reason. In your emotional and sentimental out-bursts, analysis and reason have no place. Once you have visited around 30 to 40 countries across several continents, you will be in a better position to understand the relative aspect of income to living cost. And how many countries have managed to make food quite affordable. |
magiki:It take great intelligence to be funny. Mumuish behaviour is one of the funniest things in comedy. Check Siaka Ayetoro, Papiluwe, and others. The New Masquerade programme belonged to Giringory Akabogu (James Iroha), the most mumuish of all the characters. He wrote, created and directed the characters and the programme. Zubrudaya (Chika Okpala) and and others were his creation. See how a "mumuish" person cleverly installed CCTV in his house, something still not common in 9ja. |
Any land in Owo area? Thanks. |
xcllaxix:You took it out of my mouth. So NUC just sat there allowing parents & Jamb candidates to be fooled all these years? |
PrecisionFx:By international standards, food is not too expensive. Just that unemployment/underemployment is too high. Compared to even Benin Republic a plate of food is cheaper in 9ja. Same with fuel. The reason cars and bend down select are cheaper in 9ja is that Benin govt smartly set low seaport duties. Thereby undercutting Lagos/Nigerian ports. Knowing much of the good will go to 9ja. Food that we import in Africa are basically due to dumping from the West. It's cheaper to mass produce rice in USA than small 9ja or Ghana farmers using manually labour. Western broilers mass produced are ready in 6 weeks. Almost twice that time in 9ja to get broilers ready. If we can mechanise farming, production costs will reduce. Importing will become less attractive. |
PrecisionFx:. Food is available in Nigeria. Actually reasonably priced. Just that the poor still cannot afford it. Only steady double digit economic growth above 15% per year, provision of social safety net, a dedicated sound agric policy and security of farmers from herdsmen can alleviate that over time. |
koolgee:The cute baby be like "Nna Masqurade how far na? This your attire nor be here biko". ![]() |
Hahahaha! Waiting for zombies to blame Jonathan, Dame Pat, Diezani, FKK & Fayoshe for letting Yusuf Buhari acquire the power motorbikes. And one mumu Abo.ki girl (who put religion above being fellow Nigerians/human beings) was bugging us earlier today on NL with the imbecilic story of how modest Yusuf was in UK. ![]() |
safarigirl:But my dear let us be honest. Not everybody has money like this man. Even some Igbo girls have complained about the "list" their future husbands were given. One Igbo girl was trending here recently. We should not make it look like not to have lots of money is a crime. Remember we have a country where over 70% survive on less than two $2 daily. I think a reasonable advise would be not to generalise about the "long & expensive list". That it varies depending on the community and most families are quite reasonable and willing to negotiate with a prospective son-in-law. Many of my relatives married Igbo girls. Some were rather expensive, some quite moderate. |
