This contr3 just seems like one gargatuan mental asylum. Nothing one will not hear in it. Hian! ![]() |
Sadly the system makes people and people make the system. We have a jungle system. Thank God you were not arrested for causing the deaths/accident. Nigerians are wary of the crooked system/authorities. We need a good ambulance/A&E system. RIP to the dead and quick full recovery to the injured. |
If true, a few generations from now Kabba will have an Emir instead of an Oba. And nothing will happen. |
wisdomguy4u:Dude you are very lucky. The scenario you described is why about 35% of firstborn kids belong to another man. Imagine she banged a young virile boy with super sperm a day before marrying you. You sleep with her on wedding night. The child she'll deliver in 9 months might not likely be yours. But you will be none the wiser. ![]() Something we men dread to hear but reality out there. Chai! Na wa o. You even paid for the hotel room for one little boy to bang her in. Just thank God for the revelation. |
Very good. |
AdaFonju:I am not trying to reason with someone with the mindset of Shakau or Bin Ladin like you. My submission is for those with a sound mind. |
[quote author=Wawawi post=63978515]Haa izon Izon kimi emi The Bini people, Itsekiri, Ilaje, Uhrobo are our brothers and being living together peacefully, even inter-marry. But politics,Oil etc turned us into ene Living together peacefully yes. You can invite a man to your house. But will you let him takeover your house? No! Ijaw are not aboriginal to Benin area. Yes they have lived in many riverine areas around Benin for a long time. Yes they even played a good part in expansion of Benin Empire. They were relied upon for seafaring by Royal military. In fact Ijaw largely made the sea journey to Lagos possible. Taking Lagos by Land only would have been more difficult distance wise. I have many Ijaws as inlaws. We already intermarried as far back as early 1950s. Maybe even earlier. I have never heard any of them complain of marginalisation. I have nothing against Ijaw having their own leader or chief. But calling some small fishing villages kingdoms does not happen with Benin soil. It has never happened before and will not happen. There are other ethnic groups in Benin lands. Yoruboid people in Edo South are more than Ijaw. I know this for a fact. The most that exist are dukes/dukedoms. No other kingdoms. I wonder how new kingdoms will improve the lot of Ijaw people? Quite pathetic how Ijaw keyboard warriors are using inflammatory words making people to be calling Ijaw the Boko Haram of the South. But I know most Ijaw are not like that. Do you think HRM Amayanabo of Brass has no right to clarify what obtains within his Kingdom? Well I think HRM Oba Ewuare II has the right to clarify chietaincy matter within his kingdom. |
Mintayo:Can you contact Tehn team? Have you contacted her LGA chairman, HoR member, senator, governor, church/mosque? Please we need trusted Nairanders to verify this case. Thanks. |
Quelme:Yep. But I still do not understand why we make things take so long. We need many med lab people. 7 years is just too much to train each. It is a poor system that does not work for the masses. |
Quelme:The dude is right about UK. It is a 3 years professional BSc course. Not really that popular even. I wonder why it is such a big deal in 9ja. I guess because there are no jobs. And perhaps one of the few course that can lead to job or private practice. |
samuelizz:God bless you. True love has become elusive because we have a warped meaning of it now. Money, materialism and superficiality have taken over. But what is even love in the first place? I guess infatuation was always mistaken for love. Love can only be proven to have existed only many years later. When beauty/handsomeness/virility has faded. When the money is gone and things not so sweet. Yet both have endured without bitterness. |
dairykidd:Lol. Not so sir. It is not for regular prevention. If by chance you might have been exposed to it like drunk and had sex with a stranger, needle prick in a medical personnel, ra.pe and such scenarios. The quicker you start taking the medication the better. But still effective up to 72 hours post-exposure. So no rawlings stuff sir. Very expensive unless provided by AIDS charities/govt. You must again take the full course after every other future possible exposure. The same medication is used for Hep B treatment. And has been used for HIV treatment too! |
SicilianMafia:Lol, I dey o. I have been avoiding ethnic threads a bit. Instead of learning & reasoning together for unity, it seems it has become "my dickus is bigger than yours" in these arguments. We currently have no choice but to share same geographical space. Common sense should tell us that it should be as amicably as possible. |
CooperJay:Answer is Itsekiri are partly of Edo/Benin descent. Let me go a bit into history. The first Olu of Itsekiri was the Son of Oba Olua and grandson of Oba Ewuare I of Benin. His name was Prince Iginuwa (Ginuwa). He was sent to the coast to become the Ogiame (Lord of the Seas). Today Ogiame is the first and original title of any Olu of Warri. Of course when he was sent, he was given a royal court like it obtains in Benin Royal Palace. With the chiefs/courtiers drawn from children of Benin aristocracy. Therefore the Royal Court life at Ewere (now Warri) would have been a replica of Benin Royal palace. Now about the name Ewere which Itsekiri people now identify with as Iwere. Ewere is a plant with wide leaves that is found as an undergowth in the forest. Usually near rivers/water bodies. It symbolises good fortune, safety and abundance. The Prince & his Benin people who arrived in the area now called Warri saw abundance of Ewere plants. They considered it a good omen and settled there. Calling the place Ewere. Till today in Benin, the morning after Igue (anointing & thanksgiving) festival in Benin, the youths collect Ewere leaves from the forest. Little pieces of the leaves are pasted on the forehead amid celebration. It symoblises safety, abundance and good fortune for the coming year. This is not dissimilar to how Hindus anoint their foreheads with a Bindi/kumkum of turmeric or vermilion. Though for more religious or marital status reasons. Over time, and probably before and after arriving there, waves of Yoruboid & other people (including from Ijebu & Eastern Yorubaland like Owo) came to the area too. These groups coalesced into what is now Itsekiri nation. Olu of Itsekiri became Olu of Warri under the premiership of Obafemi Awolowo in Western Region in the 1950s. |
Binchim:Na true na. Nor be oil go remain before after taking puff-puff. ![]() |
Gotohellosewa:Well we should claim him for several reasons: (1) It must have taken his parents the typical Nigerian doggedness to work hard to raise him. I know 9ja parents in diaspora currently juggling long hours of work with taking kids to football and athletics training. Paying money in many cases. Missing out on needed rest and social life. (2) Had his parents not made their way to UK, he would not have been there for them to nurture. (3) If had committed a heinous crime like Adebolajo did, Western media would have tagged him Nigerian straight away. FYI, Nigerians currently trekking across the desert, some will bear kids that will excel in Europe in the future. Sure I do NOT encourage taking such risk. But I know a guy who begged in the streets of Europe as a new-be back in the day. Today his child plays football for a major European national team. I saw it myself. We cannot "revel" in accepting the "bad" only. The good too. |
Women and romantic stuff. Many people just gush over the idea. But only few know how to make it work. HML. |
naijacentric:My dear, life is tough in 9ja. People need hope and succour. Truth is actually irrelevant to most. They do not want to know. Dancing, singing and being repeatedly promised miracle is psychologically beneficial. And the MoGs know it. ![]() |
jaxxy:That is a no-no. Above 6 to 9 months, do not try such. Babies are far more intelligent than we think. The amount of development and learning that occur in that phase of childhood are enormous. Just imagine how kids begin to speak by just hearing grown ups do it. |
In my time the only sex education we had was by our teacher during Integrated Science class in secondary. The European lady was quite good explaining the basic stuff. But no such education at home. God help you if the "devil should push you" to ask parents questions about sex. ![]() The real education though was watching porn films as teenagers! Cinemas used to illegally screen porn films after showing James Bond and such films. Although they kicked out kids before screening, taller teenagers like us managed to hoodwink them. ![]() These days with smartphones and internet everywhere, sex education should start early. Before they access sex stuff online on their own. Countries where sex education begins early have the lowest teenage pregnancy rates. Like The Netherlands. Kids ask questions these day. So just answer them in a sensitive and educative way. The common questions include: where do babies come from? How do babies get into the belly? A little girl may ask why she has no willy but her brother has. And so on. Telling them Father Christmas brings babies will not wash. ![]() Now gay marriages have complicated things a bit. |
It is not all about shape though. The babe whose personality captivates you the most might not have the body shape of your fantasy. However, moderate shape/size/weight would do. |
Seahawk:Well Saudi Arabia has same resources like Nigeria. And virtually every man there has many wives. I do not think polygamy caused our hypocrisy or backwardness. Look at attitude and mindset first. Bill Clinton, John Major, Jesse Jackson and a whole legion of leaders in the "non-backward countries" all committed adultery. Ordinary Western people are not left out. One of the major causes of divorce. Hypocrisy is shagging women everywhere while forming "monogamous". ![]() Like I always say in such threads here on NL: I am the third generation of my family to be monogamous. My argument is not to defend myself or justify polygamy. Hypocrisy is part of every society. The West just realised for example that making gay marriage illegal was just the height of hypocrisy. With half their population having had a gay or lesbian experience at some point. So hypocrisy is widespread. When we're uncomfortable with certain things we do as if they do not exist, even if starring us in the eye korokoro. |
ideatoprince18:Really? And other regions have saintly women? Lol. Please learn to see that life is more complex than just "this region people are this and that". We read recently of a married woman who came to rent a cele church pastor's house with her husband. In Lagos. She began dating the married pastor. Due to the affair the hubby left the woman. The woman now wanted the pastor to herself. She set the house ablaze one night killing pastor's wife, two kids and a relative staying with them. The pastor was away in a Virgil. All those adultery cases we hear in divorce courts across Lagos are not majorly SS people. We have videos on youtube of adultery and magun cases across many places. Tribalism is bad. |
dabeto:Staff attitude/culture is far more important. Security personnel are part of the staff. Good staff will flag up damaged amenities and push to repair them promptly. They will be vigilant to avoid security breach and be alert. They will respect your privacy, keep the rooms clean and generally make it a pleasant place. Although it depends on how serious management is and how they reward/pay staff. Some hotel staff in 9ja get paid 10k to 15k per month. Just imagine. The most important resource of any enterprise is its staff, not building or property. Having said that, Nigeria presents some unique challenges to businesses including hotels. Light is the first one. But another big one is dishonest, corruption and sharp practices of some staff. They make it unprofitable and can make proprietor unable to properly maintain and improve the hotel. With time, signs of dilapidation set in. Quite surprising how unfriendly and unhelpful some staff can be in such a key hospitality business. Across the world. |
Meajor:True. Maybe he can tell us if he does. If he doesn't it would depend on where he lives. If not in Lagos/PH/Abuja, he can get a plot a bit outside of town for a good price. Many houses you see today, the owners didn't have bulk money to build them. Many were civil servants, petty traders, etc. Things were cheaper & money had more value. But people also earned little. Taste wasn't that high so people built modestly. |
Olu317:Happy prosperous new year boss. |
You can. Just a matter of time, discipline & sacrifice. Marooh already gave good tips. My tip would be to save aggressively. If you can put 30K aside every month for 6 months, begin with that. It would be much easier if you can get a free family land to build on. Build small, no elaborate columns and designs. You can do those in the future. But better if you can earn extra money on the side. Like just 20k extra a month. |
Lol@ 5 & 10. When you impregnate a billionaire's daughter nko? 7 months pregnancy. ![]() |
An impressively neat job. Kudos. |
Go together to the sleep clinic/physician if there is one where you. Discuss it lovingly with her first. Apart from the inconvenience to you, it's also about her health too. She might have sleep apnea too. Has many potential health risks. |
desreek9:Assuming he shags other women abroad, he will at least not bring another woman's kids and hang on the wife's neck. Last time i checked virtually all tribes in Nigeria still practice polygamy. Many even more successful than monogamous homes. Actually this is nothing new. Around 35% of first born kids do not belong to supposed dad. And around 20 to 25% of all kids belong to another man outside. I have written about it over many years here. Paternity test to facilitate family reunion abroad (embassy requirement) has revealed many shocking things. ![]() We all know now that women are far more promiscuous than men nowadays. Reason is simple. Many women see their body as only means of making money, passing exam, getting promotion at work, buying latest phone, fine clothes, etc Whereas a man needs money to date women mostly. The consequence is the rich guys control many girlfriends at the same time. Whereas it is a luxury for those not so rich. Yes there are working women out there but even some working ones still need several boyfriends or sugar daddies to afford the lifestyle they enjoy. Your advice not to marry a guy living abroad is good. But with very few economically stable and eligible men around now, resisting foreign based ones earning hard currency will not be so easy for many girls. And one more thing......some men abroad are disciplined and there on a mission. When you are really busy (with education and work) you can stay for years without women. I know many who have done it. |
