Hmmmm She might still turn up next time. |
People succumbed to primitive ethno-religious instincts & bigotry. The same reason unity and progress will remain elusive. Since we have disunity, we cannot fight corruption. Because you want the corrupt guy from your tribe & party to be left alone. That can never work. |
BiafraBushBoy:Well he did not say much. In fact in all the nationwide rallies to campaign, he spoke for less than an hour in total! In fact he had more to tell foreign journalists and Chatham House in London than Nigerians. He did not need to. Bigotry and ethno-religious hate for Dr. GEJ and those that supported him was enough for the thoroughly bigoted populace in the usual places to vote for Buhari. In my opinion, Buhari should manoeuvre to even gain a third term in office. Nigerians deserve what they are going through. Sadly everyone including innocent children has to suffer it. But that's the price. And I am not from the East or Ipob. |

CASTOSVILLA:Uwc. Amen. Same to you. |
MrRitchie:Ok I have no exact details but I remember it said to standard sized rooms, nothing elaborate. It appears to be a 2bedroom bungalow to secure a 120 x 120 land. |
TheHistorian: ![]() If we package it properly we could produce Voodootronic devices to rival Western technology. ![]() |
Very good. People forget that properly toilets help prevent diseases. This could save lives by preventing common diseases. |
Happy birthday in arrears dear. |
This shows that the country is almost beyond remedy. Whether poverty justifies their actions or not, fact is millions of poor people out there will now do anything for money. Just to survive. Steal, lie, rob, kill, cheat, embezzle, take bribe, do ritual or anything. It is dog eat dog now. |
Jolar101:Now we can see the dead in their graves getting juicy appointments. Zombie govt is even an understatement. |
I won't be surprised if dead people are already holding positions of influence in Buhari govt and collecting salaries, allowances and other perks. ![]() Chai! 9ja is just a massive joke. The docility of Nigerians is a show of utter foolishness and cowardice. |
dovelike:Wrong! Women always worked. Either had a shop, a farm or went to the market to trade, etc. Some women were also teachers, secretaries/typists, nurses, etc. But had to fit all these in. In the 1950s populations of cities were small and people doing white collar jobs (earning enough as sole earner) were relatively few too. Now many working women have house help. Lots of women still do the chores mentioned using house help, with freezer/fridge, gas cooker, blending machine, microwave, hoover, washing machine, running water in the kitchen (even if borehole water), etc. Women did not have those back in the 1950s. So much easier doing the chores now. I think what has really changed is attitude. Not providing the welcoming environment at home. As we mimic Western liberal values, it's only natural that we also start having the high divorce rate like in the West. |
CASTOSVILLA:DSSC is Direct Short Service Course recruitment. Mostly for professional degree or HND holders. For officers in non-combatant roles. So it is very popular. It comes up annually across the 3 branches of the military. Training begins around middle of the year/July. Recruitment is advertised everywhere, so watch out as from January/February though ad appears later. But people are usually required to be registered with their professional bodies like NMDC for doctors/dentists, or as applicable. It is supposed to be transparent but you know 9ja thing. Though advertised exact details of when to write exam is not known. But you will know the exam location for your catchment area. A catchment area may cover several states. Like last year details of when to write screening exam was not uploaded online on time. For the air force one I can say for sure. When information was released at night requiring candidates to write the test next morning three states away! Some did not even know until next morning. Too late. Insider information sources told people to be on their way on night bus hours before official upload on website! ![]() |
justi4jesu:Du sprichst auch Deutsch? Wunderbar meine Liebe! ![]() Langsam gehst du nach New York als UN Sekretaer-General. ![]() |
justi4jesu:Hahahaha! J4J bonne année d'avance! How body? Longest time. |
Oduok:Hmmmm, very good. |
MrRitchie:Decent information up there. What about cost of raising 2 bed room flat and parlour and 1 toilet and kitchen up to lintel level with foundation to dpc and German floor already done? Also in Ogun State. A relative wants to do such a project before second quarter of next year. |
donb06: ![]() So you mean coming out as a new wailer is now as difficult as people coming out as gay. ![]() My brother they thoroughly deserve all the taunting they get o. In Wailerdom, we do not look kindly upon cross-carpeting political prostitutes like Nigerian politicians. Bubu supporters should hold their side. I remember being shouted down as "tanoids" because we pointed out Bubu's decades of failure to lead people correctly, corruption as petroleum minister in the 1970s, getting kicked out by his own boys, PTDF waste under Abacha and refusal to improve/educate himself after leaving govt/jail. |
Any affordable property/land around Onosa in Ibeju Lekki side? |
Francisayo:Better to wait for the DSSC for graduates especially graduates of professional courses: accounting, medics/healthcare, engineering, theology, architecture, surveying, etc. You begin via DSSC with a better rank after successful training, usually as lieutenant, sub lieutenant or flying officer depending on the branch of the military. That is usually the lowest rank of commissioned officers. Commissioned officers have a far better progression path ahead. Almost like going through NDA. But if you still want to apply as a corper, you must be ready for training (NYSC finished by then) when it starts if you are selected. |
But does everybody not need to repent before he or she dies? Aside GEJ, all our former presidents are well over 70 years old. Pray tell, how is falling ill in the 8th decade & above a strange thing that needs prophesying? ![]() To win any election, does a politician not need to rally people where he's most popular to have a clean sweep? Ayam not understanding o. |
RIP. |
Chai! 9ja. Just when you think you have heard it all. ![]() |
Cool |
cococandy:I think empowerment of women and education of men could be the way forward. Women should learn not to accept favours from men anyhow. Because some men see it as being entitled to her body in exchange. More important to urgently remove the stigma attached to being a rape victim. Instead being a rapist should be seen as seriously abominable, not just a cavalier offence. AND boys, men, parents and society should know it and train kids right from primary school that way. There should also be stiff punishment for false accusation. Where a woman deliberately twists the story as a revenge. Such as if subsequent phone chat records show that it was consensual. But first we need a justice system fit for purpose to make it work. |
cococandy:Correct. That should be the case in a civilized environment. But in 9ja things are not quite so yet. I had a personal experience very many years ago. Coming from a place where ra.pe is next to murder in severity/punishment, I met a girl in 9ja. After several rendez-vous we got a bit close. But this babe said no when things got a bit closer. Next time she also said no. So I thought she wasn't ready yet. I really liked her and I was ok with that. Then I had to return. We talked on phone regularly over the next few months. I raised the matter one day and this girl accused me of not liking her. Because if I did I would have persisted to sleep with her. The above scenario is not unusual at all. But still never assume that every girl does it that way. People are different. That really surprised me. I discussed it with a friend and he just laughed saying "so you carry that oyinbo style go 9ja?". He said once the babe don follow you enter room, no leave am until get wetin you want. The perception out there is that girls will first say no. But pull her dress or whatever and she will let you. Now this is very delicate. The line between persuasion and forceful act can be easily blurred. For a guy, to be on the safe side, consider no as meaning no. Certainly never even consider sexual intercourse for the first time with a girl who is inebriated. Do not let her closeness, friendliness and smile deceive you. She might not like you to the point of being intimate with you. Maybe she just likes you, looks up to you as big bro/friend or needs something that you have: money, free ride, comfortable apartment, steady light, etc. But no sexual stuff. |
Safiaaa:Spot on. People just read 3 minutes and comment. A guy who knows his job can make a lady climax several times during pre-intimacy. Because not climaxing is the complain of many. Even the occasional less than 3 minutes is not a disaster. Like after a long absence from partner. But that will be followed by much longer ones. Some quickie stuff is more enjoyable than marathon ones. We need to remember that about one-third of women will not climax no matter what. It does not mean they do not enjoy it. Many such ladies might blame the man for it. When in fact it's the woman's own nature. But the "not drilling for crude oil" bit cracked me up. ![]() |
OP this matter is delicate. Beating up your mum is awful. But you both will have to forgive her. And help her if you can. It is hard I know. Try talking to her. Maybe she took the death of your dad very badly or something traumatic happened to her at some point. I am actually very concerned for her life: overdosing or being caught up in a rival cult group reprisal. Both deadly. If all else truly fails, she needs to go away and live her own life. If he cleans up her acts, she will be welcome back. |
