OboOlora:You should have added " I dey my house, oya come and beat me". ![]() |
No ooo. Una go bear with Buhari o. Till 2023. Shebi una say na im be una messiah. No escape for you guys. |
Iceberg3:You dey mind that one Some people come from places where human skulls/organs are used to do juju anyhow and you can get fresh human parts like buying lacasera. Then you have to wonder which witchcraft is worse than broad day light killing for organ harvesting. |
Mcowubaba:My brother I fear o. Many Africans just carry smart phones about but medieval in their minds. You cannot jump in "evolution" of the mind. It takes time. Modern technology around us makes no difference. 500 to 350 years ago, Europeans were still killing themselves over religion, burning people alive at stake over witchcraft accusation. In another thread on FP right now about Benin, a common African Koala family bear was found on an electric pole. They are calling it a witch. As a kid I saw that animal caught and used as a pet for a while. And then eaten. A very common animal in the tropical rain forest zone. You wonder the kind of biology they teach in school these days. And when they hear about Benin, they go into superstitious orgasm. |
martineverest:By whatever subjective standard you choose, you are still wrong. Unless you can tell us what the GDP per capita would be compared to the countries mentioned. And how you arrived at it. Catalonia has 16% of Spanish population and contributes 19% of Spanish GDP. This is not a big deal compared to what Bavaria, Baden-Wuerttemberg or Rhineland Westphalia contributes to the federal purse of Germany. Or what London region contributes to UK economy. This is not anywhere near 70% of Nigerian FG income that comes from oil, mostly from Niger Delta. Spanish GDP per capita is $27,000 (Normal). The extra/net nearly 10 billion Euro Catalonia contributes to Spanish will not raise their GDP per capita to beat Germany of $41,000, Holland 45,000, France 36,800, Italy 30,000, UK 39,900, Belgium 41,000, Sweden 51,600. So your assertion is still inaccurate. Assuming they even continue in EU (doubtful), 10 billion Euro will not run the state bureaucracy of a new country. Companies will move their HQ reducing tax income, jobs will be lost too. Independence looks attractive and romantic, but not easy. |
martineverest:The extra more they contribute to Madrid will not be enough to pay for the cost of running a national govt. Embassies, military and more. That it would number 5 economy is utter nonsense. How. Germany, France, UK, Italy, Spain, Holland, Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland. And how does it get to number 5? I have regularly visited Barcelona/Catalonia since around Olympic there. The transformation since and wealth have been partly due to being part of Spain and EU. EU membership would be blocked by Spain. Catalonia already owes a large debt. Plus the share of national debt they will get. I think Spain is protecting unity out of principle and fear contagion effect. What if Andalusia, Basque country and Balearic Islands also decide to break away? Not really about economy in modern times. If majority of Catalonia really want to go, let them go. But in opinion poll, just over 40% want independence. The referendum was illegal. Spain should allow a legal one. |
figure007:Lol. Na Aba made copy you think say e be? ![]() Oyinbo can do anything to rake in more money. If na original, they should beware of Evan's friends. If they kidnap this cup, the ransom go dey very high. |
Mudley313:Dude, I can quite understand your suspicion of the manipulative MIL. Fact is many oyinbo people still find it hard seeing their children marry dudu. They can try all tricks in the book to scupper things. But usually they become totally in love with their grandkids. That is when they become a bit mellow. I guess it helps them overcome the "pain" of their son/daughter marrying dudu. Before someone shouts "but my oyinbo MIL/FIL totally love me", they mostly do it for their son's/daughter's happiness. Not necessarily because they love you or accept you wholeheartedly. If you have lived with them and shared a household with them you will know. I have been to weddings where the oyinbo inlaws-to-be refused to attend. Because they disapproved of the marriage. Without ever meeting the black bride/groom-to-be. As for the visit, the child is too young. But be diplomatic. Maybe you should ensure that your wife is staying over with the little girl at her nan's. Each time. Until old enough. like 8 to 10 years old. |
Odingo1:Well, life has never worked like that. Central power hardly let sub-groups go. New countries were normally created through war conquest. Very few peacefully. Even USA had to win independence war to be sovereign. Most countries you see came about like that. Either to come into existence, survive or both. Israel only gained more territory and consolidated power by winning 1967 war. Before that it was in serious danger from all sides around it. Our leaders made the error at independence. Zik & Awo had the chance to gain independence for the South before 1960 and leave the North under the British. But no, they hesitated. Waiting till 1960 for the North to be ready. After January 1966 coup, the North wanted to leave too. Again the South & UK/USA persuaded them to stay. Now they have fought civil war to defend Nigeria, tasted central power and sweet petrol dollars. Now they want to keep enjoying it. ![]() |
The thing is Catalonia did not expect to be recognized. Because the fall out could be big in many European countries. Like Belgium. Even Bavaria could decide to leave Germany years down the line. Then Basque country may wish to leave Spain next. It will further embolden Scotland. Even Quebec could be tempted to try leaving Canada again. So many countries have good reasons not to recognise Catalonia. But the seed has been sowed and watered. Catalans have had a shot at it. Only the future will tell. Although I think Catalonia has little to gain from Independence. Since they have a massive amount of regional autonomy already. Without the high costs of running a fully independent country. |
Quick recovery kiddies. |
Nigeria has a long way o. The way people worship wealth is alarming. We are still in early Victorian times mentally. Despite using Iphone X and Samsung Galaxy S8. Quite surprising how some so-called Christian leaders and acolytes utter words carelessly. Far removed from the teaching of Christ. By their fruit. |
Safiaa:Thank you my dear. There is this wrong notion that every guy welcomes any sexualized act from ANY woman. Or a man's dick is 24 hours on standby to dig. Far from it. Even gigolos sometimes regret sleeping with some women. After the act. Just like addicts/junkies hate the act but cannot resist it. Just imagine two guys with erect dicks in boxers gyrating in front and behind a frightened lady this way. Feminist wannabes will cry blue murder. |
Dearlord:I disagree. Kidnapping even became common in the South first. Evans is from the south. The whole country would have been very beautiful if our leaders had got their acts together. Nigerian masses across the country are victims of this failure. |
Hmmmmmmm |
Ok |
Funny stuff. |
As sanctimonious as we are, we cannot run a country to provide jobs, good education, good health care or good anything. Aren't we focusing too much on irrelevant stuff? Like the kind of sex people decide to have? Whereas other countries who were like us have changed and focused on important stuff. Now our so called leaders go there to have medical treatment and beg for aid. |
Nebuzaradan:Actually I disagree. I was happy that he did not win. Even though I supported his politics. I was concerned about his safety. As a minority without much poltical/ethnic population base. They can just kill him & SW/North Alliance will cover it up. Also, after the furore over fuel subsidy and the lies of opposition, especially the attitude of many in SW, I wanted them to see a regime led by another person. So that they can have time to compare. When Buhari came forward as candidate, I knew Nigerians would have plenty of time to regret their succumbing to bigotry and propaganda at leisure. Fuel subsidy removal was one of the best anti-corruption initiatives a minority president could introduce. A clean method. Like BVN & TSA too. To avoid corruption happening in the first place. Chasing corrupt people/subsidy scammers that inevitably come majorly from the large tribes will be called witch-hunting & militant approach by a creek man. When I saw the stupidity of subsidy protesters, it was obvious Nigerians were not politically mature enough. And probably deserve a bit more suffering. That may open their eyes. I warned people to tighten their belt if Buhari wins. Because in 1983 we saw the recession he brought. It partly led to Babangida being forced to accept IMF advice and bringing SAP. Nigeria never recovered from it. Buhari may leave Nigeria in a worse state that will even beat his last regime. |
Actually she's doing something good. Social media or not. Our grandmas used to do sara. Whether just cooking rice or frying akara to share around the neighborhood. Should she have covered her face as people took pics? In any case she might inspire others to do same. Maybe kidnappers & robbers go blind temporarily on seeing her and never succeed in locating her. Amen. More people are donating stuff to orphanages on their their birthday now. Maybe inspired by Nollywood actors and other celebs doing same. |
All this impunity will cause a massive break down of society, law and order one day.. For now, the Nigerian masses are still docile enough and hoping on miracle in various religious houses. Because they gave up on govt long ago. But one day a large population will become like ND militants. Ready to die and cause mayhem while at it. A bigger insurgency than Boko could emerge alongside it. Problem is that Nigeria may not recover from the fall out in 50 years. And the same masses will sadly be the victims. |
CynthiaChi:Correct. Most likely a sacked officer (or even officers) among then who knows the working of the genuine body. Like many sacked NA & NPF people perfect armed robbery with regular criminals. Including use of uniform to rob people. |
YelloweWest:Well, it will only take one swaggerlicious wealthy MoG to convince people that going naked means "a return to innocence of garden of Eden". And mugu Africans, especially miracle/hubby seeking women will obey. ![]() |
VoltageDivida:Not everywhere in Nigeria. Do you ever see Benin dishing out titles to foreigners/oyinbo and just anyone? Not even to former heads of state or governors. The way some of our traditional rulers are going about dishing out titles, you wonder if they actually know the tradition of their ancestors. |
mrbillz:Their own na "operation Leopard Claws 20 Naira". ![]() |
Danladi7:How is medical grade calculated in 9ja? In places like some UK schools many medical rotation exams need more than 80% to even pass. Depending on the perceived level of difficulty, pass mark could be 75 to 90 something percent. Just to pass. This exam grade is then weighted using a formula to give exact grade that is your actual score. Which means if 90% is lowest pass mark, 90% becomes 60 marks or whatever the minimum "weighted grade" the school has set. Reason is it takes only one mistake or error to kill your patient. So only a very low level of ignorance or error can be tolerated. |
Very serious. RIP. Beware of whom you date. Old or young. |
thunderbabs:Abeg tell people o. But they will not hear. Even the Bible predicted it long ago. About wolves in sheep's clothing. And judgement will even begin in the house of God. Do not trust anyone with your wife or daughter, pastor or babalawo. They are all just humans. Since the heart of man is desperately wicked and no one can know it, who am I to assume that I know? |
No biggie. Education is wack in many parts of 9ja. Many just living on past glory. The North could gradually become better educated than the South. Educated Northerners I meet are very sound indeed. |
