guterMann:Well Buhari said terrorists should be flown to Abuja in presidential jets to negotiate like ND militants. Boko even choose Buhari at one point as their speaker/chief negotiator. We are the mumu/novice in the whole thing. They all know what they are doing. When I say a large number of people condemn Boko just to play to the gallery, some will say it is a lie. Remember hardly any of the Northern elite condemned Boko until Chibok girls' kidnap. When BBC, CNN & Al Jazeera suddenly came with full force, they all came out of their caves to score cheap political points & condemn Jonathan to gain power. Funny thing is now they know not what to do with power. Not even the good health to use it. Power always belongs to God. |
Nice list. Battery is probably the most common. |
edeXede: ![]() Weyrey. How did you miss out Wike? ![]() |
victorazy:We can celebrate our VP, governors, ministers & other officials visiting our absentee president in Europe and telling us he's hale & hearty and hasn't lost any bit of his humour. ![]() I am yet to come across the disease called "hale & hearty" that can sequester a patient for months at intervals in any medical literature in some of the best medical libraries and medical museums in the world. Especially the symptom of high humour. ![]() |
Very sad. |
Jerrypolo:In your haste to reply you did not notice that your post I quoted mentioned nothing about electricity. I am not a fan to start reading all your posts before I reply to the one I want to comment on. |
Jerrypolo:These are gut (colo-rectal and liver) specialists discussing in their conference. Fumes will more likely cause asthma, lung cancer, etc. That is the remit of chest physicians & cardio-thoracic surgeons. You will expect chemical engineers to come to solve the problem with the structure of your house. ![]() |
A very timely reminder. Some will argue that our ancestors ate these foods and did just fine. But they also daily ate fresh plant products and fruits packed with antioxidants and fibre that also prevent colorectal cancer. No refined foods or sugars. Not to mention their higher physical activity and low obesity levels. No easily and cheaply available beer and other alcohol products . |
Cool. More fish and little red meat. Also ensure the veggies are of a wide variety. Colour is a lay guide. Mix carrots, spinach, broccoli, asparagus, aubergine/garden egg, red sweet pepper, tomatoes and others. Same with fruits, eat fruits of various colours. Various nutrients are responsible for the different colours they have. But these are all more effective if physical activity is added. Even 15 to 30 minutes of aerobic exercises daily: fast walking (not always cab, keke, bus or car) jogging, cycling, swimming, daily go a long way. |
sirfemoz:Because the country and the youths especially are not serious. And the whole world knows it now. Things were going too well, economy growing constantly, gayism prohibited, winning CAF, gaining confidence and we were sort of coasting compared to now. And they came up with corruption allegations, the same West that welcomed Abacha & IBB stolen billions of dollars. They now said Jonathan invented corruption. Decades before, they forced SAP down our throats to kill the Naira & living standard. Now Jonathan is gone. They have used Saudi to keep oil prices low. Economy is in doldrums and we cannot even see a president to hold to account. Like the Israelites, we deserve severe punishment in the wilderness and more. For falling for propaganda & ethno-religious proclivity. |
Amarabae:Rather they use their hands to choose a bad leader. Mercy Lord is not unjust. ![]() |
No need for that tying up unless photo-shopped pic. In the West you'd be in soup for doing that to a child. How much is a crate of eggs? They should be grateful he did not enter the fridge and shut it playing "boju boju". ![]() By the time he destroys he expensive electronics, they will just shoot him? |
Sanchez01:Hahahaha. Kingship alien to who? So Kingship dating back to 40BC is new in your view? Lol. Irrespective of local chiefs, every citizen reserves the right to be heard by the Oba as the final arbiter. Wealth or status has no relevance. Good that you you live abroad. In the Constitutional monarchy nations I have lived in, monarchs do no visit private homes anyhow. And they have over 1000 years of monarchy. Kingship also alien to them? Some monarchs were crowned in their 20s to 40s. You are making many assumptions that are based purely on ignorance of others. But I take one message from your submission. It is that he was probably not very well travelled before and now using this opportunity to. This is exactly the point of us preferring to prepare a king from birth. He gets the chance to travel, study abroad as a normal person and understand ordinary people before becoming king. |
cashmyles:My brother the way they attack Igbo na wa o. Anybody who does not follow them like APC zombie is automatically Igbo. Very ignorant lot. Education is not common sense o. |
Jetleeee:Dude be honest with yourself. Remove tribal pride from it for a moment. It is quite unusual for royalty visiting private homes. Haba! Including Obafemi Martins. ![]() The world over a big part of royal dignity is etiquette and rules including rarity. As for Oba of Benin that you already took the liberty to criticise, he does not need to attend parties, birthday bashes, weddings or hop all over the place to influence things within the Constitutional remit. Because I have many relatives in the palace I know for a fact that the Oba is one of the busiest people alive. He personally hears cases brought by citizens from all over the kingdom. Be it family, land, customary, succession disputes not to mention the number of guests received daily. Remember he was prepared for kingship from the day he was born. He's not making up things as he goes along. The former Ethiopian emperor Haile Sillasie also personally heard cases. Even standing the whole day well over age 80. There is a long African tradition of giving audience to even the smallest citizen. Far more important than glamorous gallivanting. Remember he was Nigeria's ambassador to Scandinavia accredited to several countries there, Italy and Angola for many years and people come from all over the world. From scholars, researchers, international TV documentary crews. Not to mention the political elite. Anyway many things about royalty in your area is very unusual. Such as a person whose father is still alive becoming king. I would not accept any traditional title as long as my father is alive. He should get it. Then after he's gone I can take it. Let alone being King. But I guess that is what diversity is all about. |
Victornezzar:Lol. True. Depends on age. If you both date young in a religious setting, you can have that. |
Victornezzar:Edo |
Victornezzar:Let me also ask you: so because of tradition should you go and be marrying?? Because the reason we marry is because it is the tradition that people marry & have kids. ![]() Who said bride price & traditional marriage are two separate things? It is people who have abused the whole thing. All you need is you, your bride and both families doing it in the bride's family home. With necessary items & procedure needed. All this one some cultures give a list including 12 Iphone 7, 14 Samsung Galaxy S8, 20 Sony Laptops and so on is just sheer abuse of tradition. When did our ancestors use Iphone 7? ![]() It depends on you and your bride & your bride's family. How reasonable all are. Take for example: In Benin weddings are very elaborate now. People spend time trying to plan the perfect wedding. In the process of years of delay, sometimes the father of the bride may die. Without bride price paid, the would-be-son-inlaw is not recognised in the funeral. Suddenly they will now do a quick basic wedding as the tradition always meant it to be. I find it ironic that instead of doing a basic wedding and get blessings from the bride's dad when alive, the same is now done when he's dead. |
Oturugbeke. |
Because the thing too sweet & tempting na. Anything wey too sweet, eating it has to be controlled. ![]() |

BossOluwendy:The chain change. ![]() |
The boy be like wow! First lots of money then this massage of life. I want to be a footballer. ![]() |
Lol. Good luck to all applicants. |
ivolt:I have been making this point for long. Most guys are shareholders in their girlfriend. Yes, your girlfriend might just be a PLC. Fact. Economic conditions have not made things easy at all. Girls need beautiful things and only very few men can provide all a girl needs these days. In the last 20 years or so, lots of marriages are happening because the gf is pregnant. And many girls have admitted that having several bfs until wedding is not a biggie these days. Now how do you know which of the bfs fathered the first child? A while ago, a Spanish lady slept with the dwarf that came to entertain at her hen party. 9 months later, she had a baby. Only for baby to develop dwarfism that was genetically absent in her hubby's family. She had to confess the tryst. I think nobody should reject DNA test. I would even prefer if individual genome could be added at a cheap rate. |
Victornezzar:If you're African, that is what our ancestors did until about 70 years ago when church weddings/registry gradually came into fashion. It is the most important. A woman does not fall from the sky, she's someone's daughter. Who says God does not witness it when the parents/family of the girl gives the bride to you in marriage? Any self-respecting church/registry will first ensure no impediment from family before conducting a wedding ceremony. |
God protect this little angel. Govt/NASS needs to regulate and criminalize anyhow house maid work/employment. Kidnapper gangs are sneaking innocent looking young women into unsuspecting families. We need to make such employments official. Including checks with police/conduct certificate that is verifiable, guarantors like ward councilor/LGA chairman, civil servants, etc. This is getting out of hand o. |
KingEjanla:Hahahahaha! One day, one Nairaland macho man by chance passing by your house will spot you. After using you to do boxing practice, he will use you prepare for WWWE wrestling join. ![]() |
This one sef weak me. Wey that lion with belly on a tree branch meme? ![]() @OP, you both actually fit each other. Both of you have a love-hate relationship. Interspersed with intense passionate love I suspect. And also both of you have the issue of being inconsiderate. Your wife not caring about a good rest after a long night shift & you disappearing for months. But your own confusion is alarming. Unless you're a bit economical with the truth. In all I worry about the effect on your little girl. Fix this matter before it sours her view of marriage & scar her for life. I have no doubt your little girl misses you even more than you miss her. Let us hope your wife does not sometimes transfer her bitterness over you to her. Act decisively weighing all things carefully. Sadly I cannot envisage a happy marriage & a conducive home environment for your daughter if both of you do not change significantly. It takes two to tango. Good luck. |
Very bad. |
hellohgy:If I remember correctly, it is not a gas o. It is a salt. Sodium azide. It breaks down to produce Nitrogen. Maybe they have new ones nowadays. |
