Basic123:You must be a political novice. 18 months to the end of a tenure nothing controversial is done in Nigerian politics. Let alone 8 months. Just watch. As from December 2017, all focus will be on 2019 election. Lol. |
Kagawa10:Your denial is irrelevant. Jealously guarding a lie sums it all up. I am more convinced now that you're probably an immigrant from Igalla, Ebira/Igbira or even Fulani. Such people are always desperate to belong that they form more native than native. I know your type. You are far less Ondo than myself. Because my relative is a first class Oba there. I guess you cannot point to a third class traditional ruler that is your close relative. One you can walk into his palace and be recognised. |
Kagawa10:Your denial is irrelevant. |
Kagawa10:Yaba left man spotted. That you have no idea what Ado Akure is means you're a very uneducated agbero that is better ignored. Like the usual coward, you will not dare mess with an SS man in real life. Enjoy your anonymous freedom behind your second hand phone. |
Basic123:What has that to do with Igboland? Confronting the North does not have to be shouting but taking a resolute stand on restructuring. What did the SW achieve in National Conference? That was the chance to speak up & insist on implementing it. |
Kagawa10:There are many among them. I know because I know many. I have not claimed they all are. The British really succeeded with their plant to limit the influence of Oba of Benin. First by taking Lagos, deposing Oba Kosoko, a Benin Loyalist in 1853. Then turning back Ado-Akure people coming to bring tributes & pay homage to Oba Eweka II in 1914. By the next coronation in 1933, that tradition had been lost. Reason the Oba of Benin can choose The Iyase of Benin Kingdom (most senior Benin chief/second in command to the Oba/traditional prime minister) from Ondo/Ekiti if he likes. Two have been chosen in the past two hundred years. The best known being Okoro-Otun. I hope Otun rings a bell with you. There is a lot of history you guys do not know. The majority tribes in Nigeria are relatively ignorant about many things in Nigeria. They focus so much on themselves and forget that the sun shines elsewhere also. I am always appalled at how much they do not know. Even well educated ones in diaspora. |
tundexijim:Well, the people of Nigeria have to decide that if he's good or evil. Luckily I briefly met Buhari when he was a military head of state. I doubt if you have ever met him one on one. Those who praise or insult him most likely have their reasons. Either because their personal economic fortunes have improved or worsened under his regime or because they belong to the pathetic group who just follow the herd. Any herd. |
taoheedoriloye:BEDC member spotted as predicted. ![]() |
Basic123:Virtually all of them do because they all depend on Abuja for handouts. None excluded. But the thing about SW as a whole is that it is the region best positioned to flourish without oil compared to other regions. Lagos, Ogun, Ondo & Oyo can easily make up for the perceived deficit of the remaining two. That they are actually reiterating what we already knew about success of former Western Region, albeit a bit late, but still very good. |
taoheedoriloye:Although Yoruba people like to deny it now, swathes of Eastern Yorubaland came under Benin Empire influence. With a sizeable population of Benin descendant people (Ado-Akure) in Ondo, Akure, Owo, Ikare and Ekiti to some extent. Benin Empire Denial Centre (BEDC) people like to masturbate over the topic. ![]() Kwara was properly part of Oyo Empire, a large and fairly well-centralised nation until less than 200 years ago. So yes very Yoruba. However, I do not consider Ondo less Yoruba in modern times. I think Yoruba land was never a homogeneous entity as many make it out to be now. Most countries had to standardise their national language like Ajayi Crowther used Oyo lingo as standard. France used the French spoken in Clermont-Ferrand area as standard, Germany used Hanover area German as standard, etc. |
Finally. But they still seem to lack the courage to confront Fulani except Fayose. Diplomacy hardly works with them Northerners, unless it results in you playing a subservient role to them. |
Sir if you intend to keep her, try to pay her at least minimum wage. We were paying a mai-guard 25k monthly during GEJ's time (better economy) with accommodation that had everything like main house. And I still felt it was somehow not enough. See it this way: you do not know her experience/history? She might have been a victim of sexual and general abuse from previous employers and therefore has trust issues. Maybe they pretended so nice and later pounced on her. She might also have serious personal problems. Generally most people who have had a decent life do not end up as house-girl in their early 20s. They would be in a higher institution or doing NYSC service year or doing/learning some trade. Sit her down. find out about her life. Gain her confidence. Is her dream of a better life or education vanishing? Find out. It might just be a chance for you to transform a life. |
BuddhaPalm:Just imagine. And these people will claim they did biology at school. Or even went to university. I shudder at Nigerian/black African education. Nobody will want to know if the mutation causing this could have been due to environmental pollution(like mining polluting the air/drinking water in local area) that could affect humans too or like just spontaneous. Due to churches & mosques in every other building, anyone offering a possible scientific explanation is called atheist. We suddenly despise science if it does not affirm our religious superstitions but we still cannot do without modern medicine, tech products, air travel, cars and other luxuries. These things were not invented using superstition. Later we wonder why Asians & the West are so far ahead. |
MicroBox:Star of David sir. Check any synagogue. Or Israeli emblems. By the way that star used to be in pre-independence flag of Nigeria. Check it. |
Zombies will soon blame Jonathan for building the school. |
A very unfortunate rat. His mates are chilling fine in Saudi & Qatar airports, who managed their oil money well. ![]() |
All that na yarn. Osho probably has a "coded" share in it. You cannot use public resources to create a school that precludes the vast majority of the masses from attending it ab initio. It would make sense if a certain number of places were reserved on scholarship for academically qualified candidates from all local councils of the state. Creating elitism using public resource is foolish & shows how our elected officials despise the poor majority. It will end up being privatised with Osho & his goons as the beneficiaries. But I can see another political party winning the governorship and taking the school back from private owners. All these could play out in the next 20 years. |
blackbeau1:My dear, even horse's nyansh will not cut it. If he's in such great spirits, why should governors, ministers and others spend huge resources we do not even have now (since they blame poor oil intake for their failure) on travelling to UK to see the president when Bubu can easily return to do the job he was elected to do? I cannot remember people voting in "Oversea Medical Care President, Ambassador-At-Large or Tourist President"during 2015 election. |
modelmike7: ![]() So "badoo" jungle don mature reach that level. ![]() |
Bills2307:Jalingo is capital of Taraba, which is among top ten there. I agree that the guy is sour grapes. What evidence is there that the top 10 states are more corrupt or sort more massively than WASCE poor states? Those who claim "best educated" refuse to accept that with better opportunities to attend better schools, others previously derided as traders or witches are doing far better. The trend of SE/SS leading WAEC & JAMB results has been there for long now. Edo/Delta have been in top 10 for well over a decade now. Yet some do not want to accept it. But they have no choice. Results will keep doing the talking. In my time, we recorded some of the best results nationwide but tribalism was used to deny us foreign scholarship to the West, instead given communist block. Which we promptly refused of course. Those already there were hardly paid their stipend & were roasting in communist block. People with poorer (still great) results were sent to USA/Europe on ethno-religious grounds. Luckily many of us managed the wherewithal to head to destinations of our choice. And they now want us to be patriotic. |
Na wa o. Soon na nursery and primary school go dey inside. |
Na wa o. |
MisterKings:Kiki big deal? Not that they have not been smashing it like no tomorrow already. ![]() My thought is that the lady is a few months preggy. ![]() |
Na wa o. Shame really. |
Ups01:No respect for "constituted authority?" ![]() |
FortuneTeller:I'd like to know how it all went. With the learning-to-walk guy. Does your friend work in a rehab center? Where did she meet these people? This old thread shows what plays out in real life. Physical challenges, whether congenital or acquired remain extremely stigmatized. Yet most of us would abhor oneself or loved ones being stigmatized. I was appalled to learn in 9ja that many people refuse to use inhalers for asthma just to avoid the stigma. That girls in particular detest it for that reason. I was discussing it with a group of bright young people in higher institutions & some graduates. One of them had ignored medical advise to use inhaler for years until her symptoms became unbearable. |
pocohantas:Even the ring thing na copy copy. That is why we do not even know which finger. ![]() Our grandads/grandmas that were married for 70 years, I nor see the wedding pics or rings they use. Imagine their grandkids seeing these naff pics in 50 years? We are just turning a serious institution into pure vanity & profanity. Do we need to see how women grab their man's dick.s, handle bride's bum bum & boobs? To make what point exactly? |
Rip sir. |
Still better than most o. The worry is that these things are only being supplied now. |
MrMoney007:This is meant to retain the best brains in academia. That would certainly lead to a doctoral degree eventually. It will give the candidate to see if he likes research/academia. Before commiting himself. |
PointZerom:2002 you mean. We all know it, they know it. He allowed Sharia in a secular country. It gave Boko & Yusuf wings. Everything hidden will be exposed at the appointed time. |
