Charly68:. Shouldn't you be praying for God to forgive him his sins as Jesus intercede with his own blood for God to forgive us? Have we all not sinned that we can cast a stone? Remember, it is the Grace of God that saves, not our presumed righteousness. |
Well, he went out with a bang. ![]() RIP dude. |
Well, 9ja has many cultures. It might be a delicacy in his village. |

mimicious:. You know some ladies like noisemakers. Some guys build a house and tell nobody until they collect house keys from the builder. |
holyokoto:. Are you not supposed to be on campaign somewhere around Damaturu? How's Aunty Paypay na? 4 more years jare! ![]() |

remsonik:. True @ OAP but people can be surprisingly naïve sometimes. Maybe the guy completely changed story/gentleman's agreement between both when she fell pregnant. Something must have led to that. She might NOT have really meant to tell the wife, but it was unwise to threaten with such. We don't know, the wife might be the source of his livelihood, connections, contracts, powerful father-in-law. To appear as an ingrate to his wife/her family could have driven him insane to kill. |

Nicklaus:. It might be nonsense to you. But you cannot dispute that some men lie about or play down their marital status. You also cannot dispute that many girls are attracted to affluent men, many of whom are married. Lots of such men can cater for girl's needs better than young guys just climbing the career ladder. He apparently rented the Ogudu GRA flat for her. |
remsonik:. It's easy for us to speculate an ask questions based on our own idea of what's proper. Now we don't know how they both started. The man's wife may have been living in another town/city then. While the man feigns single guy, In any case it's not unusual for some men to say the following to win pretty girl's love: "I don't love my wife, I never loved her, it was my family who arranged it in the village. I went along reluctantly". "I'm just with my wife for now because of the kids, I will divorce her and marry you". "Yes, I have a wife quite alright, but she's not my soul mate, you're. You're my missing rib." Aisha was not the one who was married, he was. If as her name suggests she was a Muslim, polygamy would have been something acceptable to her. Even if we frown upon it, it was her way of life and culture. A man/woman has to die of something one day. |

It's sad that Africans don't know their history. We have contributed most to human development. The science & tech you see today is a culmination of knowledge that began way back in Africa, especially Egypt/Nubia. |
The sooner people accept that men are polygamous by nature, the better. If ploygamy becomes illegal or women start making too much noise about it, lots of men will just stop marrying and have several lovers. Women need the tag of "Mrs" than a man needs marriage. Men who are GENUINELY monogamous do so out of principle. In the West where polygamy is illegal, adultery is probably the most common cause of divorce. So despite the severe consequences of divorce on men's part, they still play away. Lots of women in monogamous relationships cheat too. So Western monogamy is not all it has been cracked up to be. With about 50% divorce rate, it has failed honestly. Btw I grew up in a monogamous home. |
Whoever murdered Funsho Williams will never know peace. Whatever position or riches he/she attains in life, all will be in vain. Except the person confesses and tries to atone for the heinous crime. Then beg God with a genuinely repentant heart. |
iyoema:. Sir, An acre has 6 plots but you just quoted price of 10 plots! Checking from your previous post. Should it not be 270k & 450K per acre respectively? Is the area relatively free of marauding Fulani herdsmen? |
Faraidi:. An their Grand Patron Buhari is not even president o. People in Osun and elsewhere should wait for more if their "why are your people killing my people" goon wins. |
ephemm:. That's not entirely true. It began way before Shagari. At least from Murtala's time that I can remember. The disorder began during and after the civil war. It shook up the established orderliness we inherited from the colonials. Certain things are more important than others during wars. With 1973 Middle East War/Udoji award, rise in oil price and money flowing, a new generation of motorists emerged. Many not imbued with the discipline of colonial times nor properly trained to drive. Murtala came and tried a bit. But his sacking of civil servants trained in colonial times meant new ones recruited later lacked the ethical standards of yore. You could now more easily bribe your way through life. OBJ's time wasn't different. With Shagari, the sigh of relief to see the military go did encourage indiscipline. But not by much. You could go to court if your rights were violated or harshly punished for petty offences. In Buhari's time, koboko did prevent some disorderliness, but what about places without police/army presence? You cannot koboko a whole nation. No civilian president came suddenly force orderliness on people. It has to be a painstaking process of enlightening the populace towards a change in values, orientation and a major paradigm shift. |
[quote author=ephemm post=31780001]Things started going bad during Shagari regime, Buhari/Idiagbon came with the "cane" alone and restored order, but IBB took-over and institutionalised corruption till date... . |
emperorchedda:. Saint Tinubu & Saint Rotimi should be the judge & jury over them. Partisanship really makes people say strange things. ![]() |
Agent8706:. At least cows only destroy when they move through farmland and eat crops. Cows don't do deliberate/wanton destruction. To compare those murderous nomads to cows is insulting cows. ![]() |
alfred5:. DW if I'm not mistaken s a kind of German version of VOA or BBC world service. It's called "Deustche Welle", mostly broadcasting to the outside world. |
Legit:. Apart from money, it's also about power. Everyone is consolidating his power and relevance. But the problem is that such meddling & arrogation of power can cause the opposite effect. The church was once VERY powerful in the West. Some cities were even ruled by the church (see papal states) and prince-bishoprics (like Bamberg, Wuerzburg, Munster and so on in Germany). A generation or two from now, with increasing affluence, enlightment & individualism/desire to control one's own life, people may start to shun meddling by churches & pastors. It seemed impossible in Europe but it happened. So, arrogating too much power could be the easiest way to lose it. |
Ikenna17:. Have you been to heaven before? So all those ancestors that did things their way are now in hell, bah? Chai, oyinbo brainwashed black man thoroughly. ![]() Wake up & smell the coffee! |
GboyegaD:. Gbam! I think it's about time we accorded our traditions some official status. The customary courts should be able to issue marriage documents based on witnesses from both families. They can include an extra layer of evidence by requesting a confirmation from the local Baale, Odionwere, Chief, Oba, King, Sarkin or such to affirm that the marriage took place according to prevailing local custom. Pictures of the marriage would be extra evidence. Such marriage document should be equal in weight to registry marriage. And information therein should be passed on to the "General Registry" in the State/LGA/City. |

BabaEleko:. Well, you can't sure because just because it's 18/03 where you're doesn't mean it's same date in Tokyo, Fukuoka, Auckland or Sydney. It's probably already 19th of March in some of those places. It just depends on how narrow or wide one's horizon is. ![]() |
saliubello:. True talk. |
AustineE1:. No mind e-warriors. They are sitting comfortably faraway from NE 9ja but want other people's sons & daughters to go risk life & limb to conduct elections. Ask any of them to go there & their reply will be "thunder...............", you know the rest. ![]() |
