planetuzor:. By law, the accuser produces the evidence, you provide evidence that money is missing. Use FOI to request for information. Another angry APC member, swearing and causing violence. Is that how you people want to build a nation? |
fboycaestro:. Actually I want Buhari to win so that many of you young guys can taste the brutality of Buhari that we tasted back then. Then you guys will appreciate the freedom you're enjoying now. |
Jesusloveyou:. Which 30 trillion? When recurrent expenditure has been 75 to 90% of budget, how can it be possible to have used 30trillion for capital expenditure you mentioned? I think we need to learn Maths & economics seriously. How can such monstrous amounts go missing with us being bankrupt and running to IMF & World Bank to save us?? Like seriously. |
Jesusloveyou:. All those monies used for train, new universities, roads, airports and so on, and for fighting Buhari's Boko Haram friends, where do you think they come from? From the only about 25% capital expenditure or less in our budget? Even the so-called missing 20 billion, if there was any evidence, you think APC would not put it everywhere for the whole world to see? It was alleged to be 50 Billion, then 10 billion, then 20 billion. Can you trust anybody that flip-flops between such vastly different figures, especially an Islamic scholar who got into banking through Northern Royal connections and CBN via quota system? Sure, 9ja is a corrupt nation, but 50b or 20b would go missing & Naira didn't turn to Zimbabwe currency through devaluation? |
Wicked, wicked world. |
Womanisers are usually good storytellers. Even if you tell your mum, he might still manage to wriggle himself out of it. "Your daughter might just be jealous seeing another man who's not her father with you" he might say. |
Very exciting. |

dovelike:. Lol, a very close family member was a senior police officer. Many things you get to know through that. In any case, as a boy, during holiday, I used to sit among the audience in the High Court. Such interest inform you about crime in society. Now people play video games and ping away at that age. |
dovelike:. True, but what's total prison population in 9ja? Totally insignificant. In any case many people in prison are already married. Some even spend months or a couple of years and resume normal life. |
dovelike:. If you are an African American & you desire to marry your kind, that may be true to some extent. But in 9ja where so many crimes are not even resolved, prisons might be congested, but number of prisons & their capacities are not much. No, that's not a reason really. Main reasons include: (a) Reduction in polygamy: most guys & girls don't want polygamy. It's not cool anymore. They however have more side bf/gf now more than before no thanks to many avenues to meet opposite sex. Universities, NYSC camp, work place, social media (2go, fb, instagram, even Nairaland). (b) Women are more educated now. They are not just married off as before. They want a career and everything. But sometimes you just don't get everything. (c) People are generally more selective. Most will not marry the first, second, third or even the 4th boy/girl they date. Some become disillusioned with relationships. Some even take a sabbatical from it. (d) Outside influence: this can be friends married to rich guys, you want a rich guy too. The pastor says you have not found your true wife/husband. So you date for years but still on the look out. And many more reasons. |
MightyD:Lol. And while they are at it, what about those 9ja students in Tora Bora area of Afghanistan & Mount Everest in Nepal? ![]() |
mrtheo33:. Maybe there is hope for 9ja afterall. I can see some people using their God-given independent mind to discern. Maybe it's Badeh that sabotaged all those years of fighting Bin-Laden & now ISIS with no result. If you don't kowtow to Yankees, they want to destroy you & your country. Their capitalist/economic & strategic interests are all that count. Everything else is dispensable. Especially negroes in some far flung African jungle as they see it. |
![]() dayosaurus:. So anyone can just post anything now and claim to be authentic American source. And gulible people that worship anything foreign will take it hook, line and sinker? Has everyone forgotten "dodgy dossiers" complete with satellite pictures that Collin Power (US Secretary of State then) gleefully presented to the whole world as smoking gun proof of Saddam Hussein's chemical & biological waepon? Yeah, they were used to invade Iraq. And it it proved fake. Those licking American Nyansh, go right ahead. In a country where people regard "Toronto cetificate & invisible Cambridge satipikate" people, Lord of the Chicago Gbana, high calibre fraudsters as change agents, then no forgery is impossible. |
hotice01:. Can you be more specific about location(s) and whether they are more of farmland or potentially buidable/developing areas in a few years. |
KwoiZabo:. You can be sure GMB is hurting seriously now that Tinubu brigade are holding him hostage peppering him up for their selfish gains. That he cannot go round asking innocent Agatu people "why are your people killing my people?". When the whole world knows the terror "Otutu-Man Dan-Fool-Do" and his descendants have been wreaking all over West Africa since 1800s. ![]() |

emiye:. I guess you were not around to hear the coup speech of IBB. Now, before the coup, my relative, an investigatve jounalist of over 30 years experience then (he is 86 years old now), had wind of the feelings among senior army officers. His overthrow didn't surprise us when it came. ![]() Just because Rawlings killed people out of youthful exuberance doesn't mean there was no better way of doing it. I doubt if you would take it with such levity if your relatives were among those killed. Talking of greed, was Buhari not greedy to overthrow Shagari? |
28. A very ideal age for marriage. I wish I married at that age. |
emiye:. A man who had all the trappings of a military C-in-C, yet could not carry his military subordinates along, cannot also carry all the various/diverse people and opinions in a multi-party democratic system with a bicameral parliament. Even OBJ, a wheeler-dealer and a peoples' person had difficulties doing so. What did he achieve, sacking civil servants, closing many branches of Radio Nigeria, persecuting investigative Journalists like my relative, applying for us to join OIC (membership granted in IBB's time), punishing Pa Ajasin despite no case against him, jailing Ekwueme without any proof and housing Shagari his kinsman in in a mansion? Retro-active death sentence & gross abuse of human rights? Stranding Pa Awo by seizing his passport? Name a school, a road, a bridge, an airport, a dam, a power transmission station, a factory or even a prison (since he liked jailing a lot) or any tangible thing he built in 20 months. The so-called fight against corrption was guided by hypocrisy & bigotry. Every Southern politician was presumed corrupt. A Northern had to have loads of money in his bedroom (like Barkin Zuwo) or be an ethnic minority (like Aper Aku), or fallen out with GMB years earlier to be seen as corrupt. Perhaps you were told about his regime. I witnessed it. |
Dem get PVC? |
bangleslover:Well, a female leader is long overdue. Though I'd support an Igbo lady as president. It would be rotating presidency to the East and making a woman lead at the same time. Btw, I'm not from the East. |
emiye:. So you think a dictator like Buhari who failed before and his minions kicked him out is the new Messiah? Are you not tired of recycling same old leaders? One among those leaders who over 50 years got us into the mess we are in now. Then after Buhari, is Gowon next, then Abubakar? Or even try to resurrect Murtala Mohammed to rule again? |
njays24:. And those of us older than you have seen same. Surprisingly, at least last I visited home, in my area, the 15 to 18 hours of light daily is the best I have seen for decades. Sure, many areas get far less. |
meforyou1:. People just oppose for the sake of it. 40% failure rate is enough to jettison the whole idea of card reader and ask suppliers to refund money in societies where mediocrity and high tolerance of poor standards are not national ethos. A minor issue like card reader can cause serious national crisis if the margin of victory is very narrow and the winner refuses a re-run between the top two candidates. |
MrDojo:. Fellow Africans secretly admire Nigerians' confidence. Despite the hating. Like typical 9ja man, I don't strive to be liked. I just want respect for my abilities and what I have to contribute. Moreover, dignity is my entitlement as a human being. I don't condone anyone messing with it. Hating, bad belle & gossip is the headache of those who do it. I don't give a damn. |
oloyeadeniyi:, I know many Nigerians are poor in Maths. A country that depends 70% on oil revenue. A country with over 70% of budget as recurrent expenditure has little left for capital ones, even if corruption wasn't endemic, we still won't be a developed country in the next 20 years. Good that you acknowledge our huge population. A nation of over 170 million with less than 5 trillion Naira budget is not a lot. Huge population means a huge burden on infrastructure in every sector. While you're romancing with utopia that is unachievable given our expensive bicameral parliament and executive, I'm talking reality having listened to politicians promising heaven & earth since 1979 campaign. And witnessed rigging then too. And all delivered way below GEJ has done. Mind you, I like others, was dancing when Buhari took over. I met Buhari briefly as HoS in a university campus visit and I liked everything he said. But later his actions were different to what he had said earlier. We need to restructure the polity, devolve more power to states and push capital expenditure up to at least half of budget. Until then those promising N5,000 to 25 million Nigerians (equal to Edo State budget) and all kind of fantasy stuff only want power, they can't do nothing as oil prices will remain low for a long time. |
bayulll01:. Lol. To rant & call others insane is easy. Another angry & abusive APC supporter, very typical. If it as was really about moving 9ja forward, why didn't APC field Fashola? Somebody with a recent and verifiable track record despite the shackles of Tinubu. Oh they think Nigerians are foolish and will vote along ethno-religious lines, so Northerners won't vote for Fash. Let nobody fool you. Angry APC people and their turncoat former PDP members are largely power-hungry people. PDP people are not different. Better focus on whatever it is you do for a living instead of venting your bile at people online. None of them cares about you. ![]() |
Pesuzok:. Wrong. I still remember Babangida's coup speech in 1985. Buhari had many brilliant civilians in his govt. He wasn't and isn't the type that takes advice once he has power. He only delegates to a like-minded person (like Idiagbon). If you're not like-minded, you're frozen out. Ambitious people like Amaechi & Kwakwanso will fall out quickly with GMB. Fashola, being more tactful, will get along better but may not be very effective, since he won't be a chief executive like in Lagos now. Osinbajo will have issues of Loyalty, trying to make both Tinubu & GMB happy. Tinubu like always has grand designs for personal gains and Osinbajo will be crucial in actualising them. That won't sit well with GMB & core Northerners that he will surround himself with. Pa Awo who refused to do business with Northern politicians had good reasons for it. |
tchiwinnie:. You nailed it. That could be like 25% of the available sum. The mother in particular. This contribution is not life insurance that goes to next-of-kin. If not, a time may come when NLers may become less generous when similar appeals are made. |
