Eugenedimgba:. Abi o, Baba Onikeke at Ajegunle could have married a girl as pretty like Agbani. ![]() |
Peppyluv:. Lol, Peppyluv, mission to bring you to Edo has just began. Come & join your cousin, Stephanie Okereke & many others. ![]() We love our Igbo wives, we couldn't have wished for any better. Maybe due to positive experience, in my family, it has never been an issue marrying across the Niger. @ Peppy, I understand at civil war. But it affected many people at a personal level, like my mum. My mum was a very young wife just b4 the war. In my neighbourhood, she helped to deliver many babies, including of Igbo neighbours. When war broke out, they went East. At end of war, many of the kids didn't return with their parents. They had died of famine during the war. My mum was reportedly devastated. These were age-mates of my most senior sibling. She never stopped mentioning names of those kids. |
ephemm:I guess you didn't witness GMB's regime. In the South South, aboki soldiers deployed to the South after 1983 coup were brutalising young women wearing short skirts & shorts. A particular area very new a Federal university where we lived. They would force young female students to frog jump & start rolling in the mud by the road side, even if wearing white. Mum nearly ran out of wrappers that kept handing out to those girls out of pity. Then I didn't know they came with Sharia mind. But soon Buhari applied for Nigeria to join OIC. Babangida officialised it. |
EggovinMma:. I guess you will be happy for your brother's tenant to be banging his wife? Have you caught every man cheating, how do you know the hubby cheats? Is this what people have turned to, despite mushroom churches everywhere? And Jesus wept. When you quote research statistics that 50% of first born kids and 30% of all kids belong to another man outside, not their assumed biological dad, ladies will be up in arms. Soon marriage will have no point, free bang anyone you can. At least that would be an honest way of doing things. |
![]() Peppyluv:. In my piece, I said certain people. Not tribe. Certain people in Igboland, Yorubaland and anywhere in Nigeria and beyond prefer to marry within. If you have not seen that before, it's either you're still very young or not well-travelled. Yes, I have Igbo ladies married into my family, some since 50 years. Our daughters are also married to them. But all have something in common. They all grew up outside Igboland. That maybe a coincidence. I can't say. In fact an Igbo girl is the only girl my dad ever stylishly asked me if I liked to marry. The girl was born & bred in our neighbourhood (outside Igboland). But she grew up like a baby sister nearby and I couldn't see myself changing that relationship. Her was actually positive towards the idea. My dad had been calling the girl my son's wife since when she was born, lol. But I really had strong feelings for one Igbo babe and she knew how I felt. I thought we were getting somewhere. Because she seemed happy and we were becoming inseperable. WE DIDN'T HAVE INTIMACY O, to be honest. She suddenly came one day & said she had met one MOG during Xmas holiday back in the village & that she wants to marry him. I was surprised. Before I could ask any questions, she said her parents had approved it. I was down seriously. She then tried to explain it with her family preferring someone from their tribe, even their village if possible. She said those ladies married into my family, maybe they are from Owerri who marry outside anyhow. Then our communication reduced to a minimum. A few weeks later, she suddenly began communicating more and came to see me. She said her brother in USA had persuaded her parents that the MOG church denomination is not acceptable. Anyway, she wanted us to continue again. Began to honey and darling me again. But I told her we should remain friends, nothing more. It was difficult. Really difficult because the heart was really involved. |
While the write up is interesting, I think it's too simplistic to assign materialism, sexual lust, sense of duty, love/romance to seperate generations. Rather, these attitudes and characterstics transcend generations. Prevailing social norms and circumstances obviously affect and affected the manner and level of expression of those attitudes. Yejide in your story may well have sighted the endless rows of yam in young Bala's barn on her way to the farm. Bala may well have been one of the most hardworking and eligible guys in town. Yejide might equally have been the "local" beauty that all young men fantasized about. Including Bala. There were always faithful, unfaithful, deep, superficial and all kinds of people and there will always be. |
cyprianlah:. Chai! That kind girl dey reach "zenith" many times in quick succession during bedmatic sessions. ![]() |
MRLINGTON:. The guy ought to know that certain people don't marry outside their tribe or state. And their family basically decide who they marry. If falling for a girl, you need to clarify such things sharp sharp so that no surprises happen. |
ismokeweed:. Una sure say na Edo that guy from come? Wetin happen to all those fyn girls from Abudu to Benin to Auchi to Uromi? E nor see one from those places. |
myhoodlink:But Fash cannot be mumu like Amaechi na. He may follow APC line but not like a goat on a leash. He doesn't have an overbloated sense of self-importance, indespensability & ego the size of Olumo rock like Amaechi. His duty post is Lagos. Others can abandon their respective state govt houses and allow weed take them over. |
SaiBuharii:. So you didn't hear Jega admit to the Senate that over 800,000 PVCs were yet to be printed, and nearly 2 million still to be distrubuted about 4 DAYS AFTER elections should have been held already? Na wa o. Partisanship can blind some people o. ![]() |
Buhari quoting "Road to Damascus", that nor be haram? Hahahaha! Damascus ko, Baghdad abi Kaboul ni. ![]() The hired speechwriter can do better. He should have used "On the Road to Sambisa Forest" instead. ![]() |
MayowaOke:. Ogbeni, you never download the pics sir. Does it have AC? |
stormcars:. I was asking which year edition this is, because I'm giving feedback to somebody too. |
Why smell his wife's panties, does it mean he doesn't get to sniff the real deal? ![]() |
hmmm, ok |
wakacome:. Provided the old man is not suffering from macular degeneration, cateract and or diabetic retinopathy. If he is, as is common in old age, he won't see no shyte. [ |
mikeansy:Buhari just doesn't have the basic understanding of democratic tennets to get this your memo. He just cannot take criticism. He thinks he has monopoly over knowledge. He doesn't understand the diversity of 9ja & or any tolerance for the different views of the people. The speech of IBB after overthrowing GMB still rings in my ears like yeaterday. |

Can you arrange delivery to Benin City or Warri? And which year edition is it? |
please fix the oil leak & let's talk. |
Vitaglyde:. You nor bow. So what if he said he was Ogun worshiper? Or a Muslim, he won't even interview him at all? People using religion to cause confusion. Does he pay his staff with chicken, ducks, banana, yam or other farm produce? Because only farmers/shepherds were asked to pay tithes. The excuse of "we're not farmers these days, so pay 10% of your income" doesn't wash or comply with biblical instruction. Because there were tent makers, blacksmiths, artisans, tax collectors, physicians & Jews working in Roman bureaucracy back then in Jesus's time, they earned Roman Denarius/Denarii (like our cash today) but they were never asked to pay tithes. They were all asked to give as they felt able & happy to give, BUT NOT TITHES. |
Very original, logical & smart. Unlike Diana (goddess of hunting), Sandra, Kevin & all these meaningless oyinbo-wannabe names of these days. |
We badly need this in 9ja |
stormcars:. Dude, is there any issues with this car? Electrical, mechanical, transmission and is the AC working? The model is E..what? E230? |
azzima:. Typical APC, you want to force me to do something in only one particular way, threaten, insult & deny me freedom of expression, the thing your GMB is famous for. Next is to impose Sharia and also dictate how everyone should think, dress, even eat. God pass una. ![]() |
