ForumNL:
Did you just say NOLLYWOOD is the 2nd largest movie production but in ranking of best movies production Nollywood is not in top 10

So what are you saying?

"2nd largest Production by volume" bunch of substandard movies that has not gone beyond Nigeria

If there is actors that known in other African countries it will be the likes of Papa Ajasco etc

Stop celebrating mediocrity
This is the inferiority complex I am talking about. You are so bothered about other peoples approval that you're afraid to make a move.

Always concerned about Hollywood and Oscar when you have a different audience to appeal to and entertainment.

Heresy

1. Kannywood have association
2. Nollywood Yoruba have association
3. Nollywood Igbo have association
4. Nollywood English have association

Gone are the days when NOLLYWOOD English produce films like - The wicked landlord, My Mother in law, Amaka the village girl, Agony of a virgin grin
Now levels have change Nollywood English is now Omo ghetto
Chief daddy
King of thieves
Wedding party
Sugar rush
Prophetess
Fate of alakade
My village people
Jennifer's diary

The problem with Igbos is that they don't follow trends, they are too adamant to old ways of doing things

Anybody can watch Yoruba movies and love it, the graphic is just standard and subtitile is okay
Many non Yorubas know most of Yoruba actors in fact many of them act both Yoruba and NOLLYWOOD English, I know many igbos that prefer Nollywood Yoruba

If you decide to argue, just tune your goTV or DStv to the two and compare
African magic Yoruba and African magic Igbo

Iree o
inferiority complex is what you're suffering from that's why you can't seem to stop comparing yourself to Igbos.

Since you're claiming dumb, let bring it down to your level using your gotv example. You will never see most actors in Africa magic Yoruba in any other channel. Even the most famous Yoruba actor odunlade has not managed to make a break through in Nollywood because most Yoruba language language actors speak poor English with a terrible accent. Funke akindele with all her efforts has not overcome this accent barrier.

Check out African magic Igbo, African magic epic, rok2 and African magic urban (to a reasonable extent) they feature same people who belong to AGN. This is the nollywood we know. that is why no Igbo will ever say nollywood Igbo, because it's tautology! The only people saying "Yoruba nollywood" "new nollywood" are the Yorubas in the periphery looking for a place in mainstream.

When nollywood was christened, it is on record that Yorubas in the industry opposed it. And they are correct because the obvious different historical paths. Why they refused to name their industry like Hausas is beyond me. Is it fear of failure?
Ghanaians even have a more viable film industry than the Yorubas. You are able to name your movies means you don't have a prosperous industry and you might never act if you refuse to acknowledge the need to build one from the scratch instead of forming exo-parasites unto nollywood.
TV/Movies › Re: South Africans Are Asking Why In Nigerian Movies Everyone Is Christian by Armaggedon: 2:56am On Sep 05, 2022
There is no branch of movie industry in Nigeria or elsewhere known as "nollywood yoruba"
Although there has been attempts to have that niche but it has often failed mainly because unlike kannywood, the proponents want to make a name by building on the foundation laid by the booming nollywood, in an exoparasite fashion. For instance, kannywood movie makers have their own association, nollywood have Actors guild of Nigeria while Western actors had Association of theartre arts practitioners of Nigeria (ATAPN) . But ATAPN seems to have collapsed just like the 'yoruwood' wood project as no one hears about them.

There is no clear distinction between regular english movies and cinema movies as most actors and producers in the smaller cinema sector also do regular nollywood movies.

There is also no clear distinction between English movies and Igbo language movies since they are done by the same people.

The only clear distinctions are:
1) Kannywood by the Northerners

2) Yoruba language movies by the yorubas

3) Nollywood by Igbos done in English and Igbo language as well in the cinemas, accommodating some modern 'lekki elements' of the Yorubas

It is the third one that is known by foreigners as the Nigerian movie industry.

Most Nigerians are stupid reason the country is like this. Nigerian army notorious for extrjudicial killings will see an unknown gunman and only chose to flog him. Isn't it clear this guy is just an innocent person that fell victim to their cowardly assault. If they see UGM can they face them?

t2luv1:
Nigeria has the 9th largest natural Gas Reserves in the world. Some consortium of US energy companies are already planning how to construct 4000 kilometers pipelines from Nigeria all the way to link up with Algeria's current pipelines going into Spain. I read that in Wall Street article. The main hold up appears to be political stabilities in some countries. Right now the Fifth fleet is based in Qatar and UAE, a similar Navy presence will have to be developed to guide against saboteurs in some African Country.
I hope the gas you're bragging about is the one in your Papa compound and not the one in Igboland. Anybody entering any part of Igbo land for gas that he doesn't know how it got there will not live to tell the story.

Did you not read the Cable news report post? This is not the first time WAEC has come out to say that they don't do states ranking. Not in 2013..., not in 2021, not in 2022. Never.
They do not do state ranking but the data containing the state ranking is from them. Abi are you saying National bureau of statistics manufactured the waec data on their site?

When afonjas claimed they have the largest number of candidates, the NBS website was authentic for them. Now they discovered that with the correct percentage parameter, they are struggling for position with the core north, they have chosen to discredit the news entirely.
Well, it's still in NBS website. Maybe they're lying too.

Said it that the election will be a walkover for atiku. Shekarau has already stepped down for him. Watch kwakwaso do that too before elections. I would have had doubts if he had chosen wike as a running mate. Even the back and forth he is having with wike is strategic. Just to get wike to act in a annoying way and get his northern people to sympathize with him, bearing in mind the north hates wike, and wike is falling for it being a fool he is.

Yes you are correct. Percentage data is also a very good metrics. SW governors have to sit up and understand why the public schools do not have high percentage of passes.

Also, total number is also a very good metrics because other region have to understand why they do not have much number of students in school especially for states with considerable population.
Total number is not a valid metrix. It is rather a face saving one shamefully adopted. If you want to compare performance, you check the percentage pass of the states or the average performance for each state. Judging performance from the number that sat for the exam is a dumb thing since it common sense that more failures pile up carry overs and swell up candidate numbers. That is why student population is determined by primary and secondary school enrollment numbers

Instead, the incredibly deluded minorities avoid their oppressors only to seek sanctuary in anti Igbo paranoia.

Yes 2021 result. That’s the same one Statisense released the initial statistics on.

NBS has not yet released the 2022 statistics.
You and your nbs must be clowning. what you look at in performance is the percentage and not the number that sat for exam. Go back to the figure from Waec you posted which contains percentage and study it properly. You will see it conflicts with the mischievous and misleading stat churned out by your NBS.

You know some of you so called obiedients don't know anything and this is common with parties with mob followership.
How can they be imposters when they didn't claim to be Bishops of any known orthodox church. Did you hear them identify as Catholic, Anglican or Methodist Bishop? They merely claim to own unexciting churches which they MAY have even registered. While it is shameful for APC to have stooped that low, they can neither be attacked nor arrested on that basis.

Innoson does assembles too. Innososn only manufacture about 70% of it's vehicle parts.

I'm sure there's a % that Nord manufactures too
Yes, assembling is part of manufacturing but someone who only assembles finished components can't be called a manufacturer, an assembler is more appropriate.

Innoson owns a MANUFACTURING PLANT but there are assembling plants in nigeria, icluding this nords.
