SmartPolician: Just know that every country makes whack movies, including the US.
The Hollywood flicks that go global are those that made their box-office....those are some of the best they made at the time.
Similarly, Nigerian movies have passed what you think they are. Just like Hollywood films, the best Nigerians films are streamed on Netflix and shown in cinemas across the country. who is deceiving you? the bold is the opinion of cinema movie makers. cinema movies are crap. They have good cinematography, good directing and are flamboyantly shot but very poor stories. A script is like a framework of a movie. Once a story lack relatability, universal appeal (does not appeal to all class, gender and age) and lacks connection to our culture, it will have no take home lesson and people will never connect to it. The movies you speak of get shown once in a while on pay TV and they are nothing but over-mechanical hollywood wanna-be. |

Old Rivers province has two Igbo speaking divisions which are Ahoada division and port harcourt division. It is mischief to split them. |

I saw how the writer expressed his fantasy of dividing the Igboland in Rivers into two. Orashi in SE and PH in SS. While at the same time bringing Kwara to SW. I knew he was another yorubaman. What people like Obi wali fought and was killed for, was the creation of PH state into SE.
well, all these are meaningless now. state creation makes the central govt more powerful and regions weaker. separation is the best. |

EMMY76: Oga no true Igbo man will go and be claiming any land in ijawland or uhrobo land delta igbos and the igbos in rivers states will be deciding for themselves where they truly want to belong to when the time comes nigeria's propaganda and brainwashing won't help. I even doubt if the ijaws or the uhrobos can even defeat the aniomas in a war if left alone. There is no such thing as a group of Igbo's choosing where they want to belong. Should there be an Igbo state tomorrow, everywhere in Igboland from Igbanke to the coast of Mgbuoshimini in Igweocha will be voting as a bloc. ever seen a LGA getting it's seperate Governor just because a candidate won there? |

AlexBells: The problem is that our people are not investing, all these things you say, are done by low scale farming, yes if our people embrace mechanised farming that will be great but you need to understand our people have had other business preferences like mechanics, tech and more look at aviation, we dominate, car manufacturing we dominate, aba clothes, Onitsha main market etc, our people are engaged unless now that food could become an existential threats I believe people like inosson, and other Igbo entrepreneurs will look into producing the required industry for large scale farming but before now, we can't feed Enugu avd Anambra alone, that's a fact we can't feed Enugu and Anambra is not a clear statement because no state can feed itself going by that. not even northern states, except they don't feed at all. It's all about demand and purchasing power. It is natural for Igbos to manufacture products that yield higher value such as pharmaceutical s, ICT, aviation etc when agric products are already coming from somewhere in the country. However if the agric products supply chain is disrupted, the value will increase and our people will go into it or import them. |

AlexBells: My earlier post stated that AlaIgbo does not produce enough food for Enugu and Anambra, which is true, Enugu and Anambra is about some over 10 million people can we feed 10 million people with what we produce here, Ebonyi is the biggest agricultural community in AlaIgbo, We need beans, Yam, We had been dependent on beef, even our poultry don't come from AlaIgno but from Yorubaland so what are you saying, do you know I had been into poultry farming and our poultry feed and the day old chicks comes from Ibadan, abeg stop feeling like we are food sufficient, we are not everyone drinks tea thsts not made here, noodles that is not made here, etc You still make bold but unsubstantiated claims. I never said in the past that we are sufficient in agriculture. But the staple foods we SURVIVE ON, except breans is produced mostly in Igboland. We need cassava the most and we produce most of it, we need yam and rice and we produce a lot of them too. we are sufficient in fruits, vegetables and palm oil. Breeding day old Chicks and producing feed isn't a tall order and can be quickly achieved if our people invest in poultry at industrial scale, which i think we are starting to do. Agriculture should be a business but it is heavily subsidized in the north by their govt. If we create a condition where you get profit in agric as in other businesses, our people will excel there too. BTW, are you one of those who believe that cattle reared exclusively in Igboland by the Fulanis are 'produced' elsewhere? If Nigeria ends, the north will cry blood. They enjoy a huge market, free movement of agric produce and their low quality and poorly processed products evade scrutiny and are often expensive, yet they abuse it. several neighbours are waiting to gainfully fill the vacuum they'll create if Nigeria ends. |

AlexBells: Is like you dont know what balanced diet means how many Igbo soups are onions required? How many Igbo dishes do you require carrots and tomatoes to prepare? The fact that non of our traditional dishes require carrots, tomatoes etc yet we are the biggest consumers of vegetable in the country tells you they are non staple in the east. |

On top inflation and rising cost of food items Northerners now block the food from coming in. It will bite hard down South. Oshigun: Lol. The reaction of most Yorubas to Igbos is as a result of the hate your people peddle unfairly and unjustifiable against Yorubas.
You vividly, without knowing it, show this very hate driving Igbo by claiming fraudulently that " your hateful fathers fought for three years just to bring back Igbos that left your region in the year 1967?".
A sensible and mature person, even if Igbo, would accept that our Yoruba fathers were simply fighting to defend their nation from an illegal and unconstitutional declaration Ojukwu made.
Proof you Igbos never change and validation you were at fault and will always be at fault even exist today. You guys want to keep hating others forever, especially the Yorubas who always do the right and legally upright things, but remain incapable of confronting your own lawlessness and hate or the consequences of those.
Awo fought for the secession clause to be inserted in our constitution and abided by the majority decision to reject it through Azikiwe treachery rather than declare Oduduwa Republic unconstitutionally and lawlessly as Ojukwu did for Biafra to your detriment and tears. Decades later you creatures of hate still blame Yorubas for Ojukwu's egocentric mistake that your equally hateful fathers followed blindly.
Today same is playing out with same outcome. You are all following Kanu to your doom while still blaming Yorubas. Yorubas legally fought for the birth of Amotekun. Kanu declared ESN illegally , as a militia, and all you Igbos cheered him and ESN on while mocking Amotekun.
Now, with the crackdown on ESN that was always inevitable, you are crying and labelling all others "wicked bacstabbers" etc and conveniently forgetting your actions of embracing illegality in the first place.
See how the smart and pragmatic Yorubas, knowing a Fulani Government currently holds away, fought legally to birth Amotekun so that the North will automatically be under international pressure and negative purview if they try to disband Amotekun. You Igbos will always hastily defy the law, leave yourself no cover, to then expect automatic sympathy and support from others.
The best thing Nigeria can do is let you unreasonable, childish and irresponsible people go. Certainly Yorubas will never make the mistake of forming any alliance with you unreasonable people if Nigeria breaks. You still haven't answered his question, Mr host. |
