iwonbaoko pls explain how economic output in imo is higher than abia and can compete with lagos accoding to you |
nigerianvenom: My brother, few yrs ago while working in a bank,i got some suit from aba thru a known guy for just 10k each and it was about 4suit wont believe people found it hard to believe it was an aba made suit, even me myself d ask myself,"abi dem sew dis suit for aba or abi d guy d lie"?if they put made in aba many people may not buy....so they put made in italy because of our colomentality...we should blame ourselves not the shoemakers |
egift: Nice. Aba is grossly untapped. I had hoped the State Government would have done far more by now:nice points except govt does not build factories. |
adconline: Why do we thank politicians first before entrepreneurs who are risking their hard earned money?trying relating this to the present state of aba with respect to t a orji and the seeming stunting of small scale business in the city. |
spyder880:where is he from?is he going for governor? |
etcetera |
one can only believe chino when he actually posts pics not all these 'i passed there and i saw massive construction','i will get you thepics' stories |
barcanista: It wasn't after the war was over but after Ijawland had been cleared of Biafrans/Biafraudians. Nodody can pin point the conspirators in Boro's death, not even Chief (Captain) Samuel Timinipre Owonaru who was the 2i/c to Jasper Adaka Boro(of Blessed Memory), who was jailed by Ironsi alongside Boro and released with him by Gowon. He also fought during the War alongside his brother and Boss Adaka Boro.lol at boro died out of a biafran bullet...continue with your delusion. |
2cato: These are the kind of news bbc will want the world to know about nigeria. Igbo people should stop all these nonsense by given nigeria a bad name.you are utter fool if that is an igbo name to you. |
rants of a goat |
Ogbonaikenna: Ohakim has been tested and he performed above average. I support his re-election bidsee this one that carries biafra on his head rooting for a failure....later you would start pointing figures at other people for se problems. |
Enyinnaya50: Gov. T A Orji may not have gotten pass mark from aba but that is just one over 17 or should I say 6 over 17 putting all the LGAs of that region together but the man still has a pass of 11. He must be commended for his transformation in abia state and for laying a better foundation for the incoming to operate smoothly. Ochendo global has performed in any yardstick of measurementusu ocha ra gbuo kwa gi idiot. |
bilms: OFCOURSE..WHERE ELSE DID HE COME FROM?if you do not know your geographical history pls keep it to yourself. |
godonzoki: Kudos to Chief Eze. But wait a minuite, did I hear he is a billionair? What wud happn if he starts d process of renovating d aba market and ask 4 d govt to refund over time? Guess he wud hv left his name on d sand of time. Its not enough to criticise, what has he done 4 d state b4 critizing the govt?he is not from abia |
op do you realize a goat has better brains than you? |
Rizstar: All i know is that rest and repentance will never come near their household. iseeeelazy man's prayer...listen to what barcanista wrote. |
to god who made me @patrickobi and @obinalihe if were closeby i would shoot your brains out without blinking. |
so i guess all those adverts by rochas on channels tv s coming to nought? |
Unemadu: This is really thought provoking so i dare say that Enugu shouldnt depend on AIIA alone because of these scenarios you gave. it a bitter pill to swallow but then it should propel us to think deeper.if your last paragraph would attract more high networth individuals to settle in enugu and environs so be it. |
Unemadu: Lovely post. people will just talk and talk meanwhile they cant invest a dime there waiting for govt to do it for them.mehn those kind talks dey irritate me. |
kostadinis: The AIIA is certainly the major facility that is expected to transform Enugu into a vibrant city. This said, the potential strategic threat to the AIIA by the Onitsha/Nnewi/Asaba industrial triangle is often neglected. The triangle is the fastest growing commercial/industrial axis in the SE/SS after the Trans Amadi ind. Layout in PH. This is so much so that the number of airlines flying into Asaba airport has surpassed Enugu in less than two years of the airport's operation. Overland, Arik and Aero are currently locked in a tight competition at Asaba as against two airlines to Enugu.now is is strategic thinking..if far east international flights starts in asaba airport it would affect the AIIA because those biz men from oinitsha, nnewi and asaba triangle would rather use asaba simply because of distance....enugu state and ebonyi really need heavy fdis and local biz men investing in thetwo states....even if abia finally get a governor with a brain and turns aba and its envrirons to what it is supposed to be,biz men in this area would still prefer ph international airport to enugu simply because of distanxce. |
lol |
HappyJoe: The problem is logistics. The Southeast doesn't have good logistic links (this is a deliberate post civil war policy championed by Hausas and Yorubas).i understand what you are trying to say but any manufacturing, assembly or even IT plants that is owned by a southeasterner that is not sited in the east is a no no for me especially when the raw material needed for that product can be located in the east...really do not care much about traders because they usually go to where the money is circulating the most. |
Afam4eva: I've actually thought about this several times. I've always boasted about how i will cite all my businesses in the east but it's not that easy but i'm ready to sacrifice to make a point but the question is, how far i'm i ready to sacrifice. The truth is that, every business is setup for maximum traffic and i will definitely have my main office in Lagos if it's a walk-in kinda office or an office where location matters. But i will definitely have the headquarters in Enugu. But if i want to setup something like an administrative office, factory or industry, it will definitely be in Enugu or anywhere in the east. I can bear the pain of transporting the goods to different parts of the country or have showrroms all over the country depending on the kind of product. Microsoft for instance, ios headquartered in Seattle, Washington not New York, LA or Chicago. CNN is headquartered in Atlanta georgia, not New York, Los Angeles or DC and that is because these are not necessarily walk in offices but mainly for administrative purposes.well i hope you can walk the talk..there is a reason i asked that question because i have come across seve igbo people who will shout that igbos need to industrialize heavily in the south east but meet the them at a lonely or sober time you will hear or see them making plans to site outfits in lagos rather than the east and you begin to question their lamentation before...point is the issue lies in us individuals and not in any government or politician...nnewi is an example of walking the talk. |
afam question for you....as an it man that wants to set up an it firm where would you locate your hq or where would you want to start up lagos or enugu? |
Afam4eva: It's not a bad thing per se but we take it overboard as if that's the only thing to a city. A mixture of everything will be great to celebrate. INNOisBACK: I have no qualms with Enugu being a ''Residential state'' sort off. Surely you dont want all of Igboland to be like Onitsha and Aba, do you Afam4eva: It's not a bad thing per se but we take it overboard as if that's the only thing to a city. A mixture of everything will be great to celebrate.you guys should no get me wrong but i find it funny that peeps that are from enugu or have ties to enugu that usually comment on this thread hardly ever talk about the inadequate industrialization of the state as if it is a taboo to do so. |
Afam4eva: Most governors over there seem to be clueless. It's like the workability of a governor is determined by how much he can make his state beautiful and not how much he can industrialize his state. We need our governor to start thinking like business men.isnt the second statement here what this thread is celebrating?i find it ironic you are saying it now.is it not what we foolishly celebrate here? |
Afam4eva: You see, i'm kinda dissapointed in all the cities in Igboland. Enugu is a residential city but not commercial. Onitsha is commercialized and industralized but is not liveable. When are we going to have Enugu in Onitsha and some industralization in Enugu. In my opinion, i think Onitsha and Aba have more promise to compete with other cities but they have to be made liveable.simple the issue is putting the enugu state government on their toes to aid the industrialization in the state. |
@rafindo there cant be mayor in any city in present day nigeria so your system cant work at the moment. |
INNOisBACK: Nwokea di egwuguy wey the pics way you promise now? |
Ngwakwe: No Ngwa Politician has pedigree according to Omenuko, that's why Abia State has and will remain a slum until you bow down and receive the Messiah from Aba Zone to fix these decay your presumption led us to since 1991.please can you explain your second paragragh further....was it under military era? |
boneruns: Dr Alex Otti is not in the gubernatorial race anymore. His appointment as MD Diamond Bank was recently increased to three more years.i dont think the increase automitically means he would not contest...he is still in the race. |
