do you realize that the whole stretch of the bridge will connect to both the enugu onitsha and onitsha owerri expressways?

alj harem: Keep deceiving yourself and your people. You mean to tell us that the government of the federal republic of Nigeria cannot build a 2 kilometre bridge but eats food of billions every year. Smh so jb has to tax the people so as to make there money back
not to defend government but the total bridge is 12km.

PoliticsRe: The Population Density Of Igbo Land by asha80(m): 10:14am On Dec 27, 2013
Ikengawo: Oyo state is also larger than Denmark.

SE is no Alaigbo. Igbo land stretches from Rivers to Benue and From Delta to Cross Rivers State. Though there will be extreme pressure on states like Abia, Anambra and Imo that carry the bulk of the Igbo population. Industry is the only way forward for igbos, commerce and trade has only severed to give us the little we have now, we need to break the jinx. I don't know when it became honorable for an igbo man to sell goods in the market like a woman.
industry needs a large dose of constant light.

Standing5: So Mr. OP What's the significance of the High population density you pointed out to us. Is it a premaditate step to inflate population of Igbo area in preparation for 2015 rigging? SE state may be twice as densly populated as other states but aren't but don't have half the landmass of the average state landmass in Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: For Those Who Claim Sudan As An Example For Nigeria by asha80(m): 8:37am On Dec 27, 2013
Akshow: u forgot to mention what provoke the "jihadist" to start their senseless killing in the first place. Not that I support violence but take part of the blame. The killings of southerners in the north was a reprisal revenge for the killing of their leaders in what we all know was an "igbo" coup. That is d genesis of tribal killings in Naija.
engage your brain..coup was in 66 while the killings he talked about was in 45.
PoliticsRe: The Population Density Of Igbo Land by asha80(m): 7:46am On Dec 27, 2013
Tony Spike: I did notice the scattered settlement pattern is the East because I stayed there myself for quite sometime. This method of settlement might be useful in the past because of people were in constant migration and needed absolute family interdependence.

The concentration of settlement in the West itself was useful in the past because of city defence and exchange of ideas. This is why cities like Ibadan and Osogbo might be looking unplanned.

My point is that green areas should be dedicated whether scattered or concentrated, East or West. We cannot afford to fill up all available spaces in the name of development. I hope you get my drift?
i get ur drift but how do you stop individuals from building in places they feel is their ancestral land...places that land still remains?it is not going to be easy guy..this thing affects most parts of anambra and imo..enugu,ebonyi and to some extent abia are still in the clear..have you wondered why igbos seem to like building 3,4 or even 5 story buildings?(maximize available land)..well not sure we have reached that technological know how to bnuild those high rise residential buildings you find in western world(elevator in mind here).
PoliticsRe: The Population Density Of Igbo Land by asha80(m): 7:24am On Dec 27, 2013
@tony spike the settlement pattern in igboland is scattered and they do not form packed conglomerations like the sw.those places in the se were already like that before the coming of the white man so the issue of preventing people from spreading or building all in the name of city planning is mute.city planning is for urban centres like the onitsha, owerri, aba etc.

Jenkizo: Truth be told, the worst performing Governors should goes to the South East because out of the 5states in the Region, its only Enugu and Imo that has airport. Most especially Abia being an oil producing state with enough IGR and small workforce withness the worst governance in Nigeria since 1999. Anambra under Obi has done poorly with IGR from Onitsha and Nnewi. Obi is just a propagandist. Only Suilivan Chimeand Okorocha stands out in the East. That being said, I give it to Fashola and the whole South west Governors including Mimiko. Also, the likes of Kwankwaso, Sule Lamido and Wamako should be on the list of best performing Governors. Finally, Middle Belt is not also lucky with Leaders this days and Middle Beltern Governors behave like their Eastern counterparts. T.A Orji and Gabriel Suswa should carry the crown of worst Governors in the history of the Country
you know next to nothing about governance if you think presence of an airport equates good governance.

Obiagelli: why hide their party? APC governors are working and they can't be same as pdp. Whenever Rochas or someone else does personal wrongs, you are quick to tag the APC.
please quote me where i said anything bad about rochas because he is apc?....by the way if this thread was opened three months ago were will u place kwankwaso?let us forget about parties for once for christsakes.
PoliticsRe: A Thread For Christian Northerners For GEJ 2015 by asha80(m): 4:46pm On Dec 26, 2013
Obiagelli: common folks who saw the tribal loophole and decided to take selfish advantage. I tell if a serious government gets power today, purge itself of corruption total and gets down to work, Nigerians will follow suite.
self deceit...serious government is made up individuals who will explore any means legally(not necessarily morally) possible to explore the masses to explore votes....the country will not experience any meaningful change until the country restructures.
PoliticsRe: Which State Governor Deserves The Award For Best Performing Governor In 2013 by asha80(m): 4:39pm On Dec 26, 2013
Obiagelli: why? Most of the name up here are APC, so how are they same with pdp.
this is how threads are deviated...the question is which governor NOT party is seen as best...even some of names being mentioned here were pdp some months ago so why your comment?must we bring in party issues to every thread now? Haba!
PoliticsRe: A Thread For Christian Northerners For GEJ 2015 by asha80(m): 4:26pm On Dec 26, 2013

apart from the elrufai issue what else did he do if i may ask?
PoliticsRe: A Thread For Christian Northerners For GEJ 2015 by asha80(m): 4:19pm On Dec 26, 2013
ilugunboy: Believe me....if at all it exist...it was by very few people and highly subdued.

National politics after 2011...and the Anamabra shame opened many eyes.....how can a whole governor be querying the presence of a Nigerian in Anambra?
take that up with obi....all i am saying is let us stop the pretences...most of our founding fathers made very tribalstic statements in the past so let us not pretend it started now...until we come together and agree on how to restructure this country then believe me there would be mor tribalistic statements from all parts of this country from the elites(not that they believe so much in it anyway).
PoliticsRe: Have The Igbos Contributed To The Decimation Of GEJ Support Across The Regions?? by asha80(m): 4:03pm On Dec 26, 2013
egift: It is disheartening the we the great people of South-East have played ourselves to a very difficult corner. Here are some of the issues:
- Ndigbo have continued the game of self. Being all by ourselves. Biafra was a decision of necessity. But moving forward, we must integrate/collaborate with the rest of the country to possess our place in Nigeria.
- Playing a second fiddle to the Ijaw and acting as if our entire future depends on it, is not good for Ndigbo.
- Our elites play for the highest bidder. But selfishness do not allow them to extract concrete promise/terms for dragging the rest of Ndigbo to offer support for Jonathan.
- Greediness have not allowed our 5 Governors team up and execute important projects in the south east (like the Niger Bridge).

I pray for vision, unity of purpose and ability to collaborate with the rest of Nigeria. If we can avoid demonizing others, we can attain greater relevance in Nigeria. But if we keep playing the type of politics exemplified by Peter Obi in 2013, we have a very difficult future in Nigerian Political Landscape.
remove niger bridge from ur post...as much as it is desirable to do it touches both ss and se

www.businessdayonline.com/2013/12/we-see-a-good-future-for-beverage-cans-in-nigeria/

It was reported a few months ago that you were building a plant in Aba, has that project gone ahead?

Yes, this is one of the plans we brought the new investors to help with, we have gone ahead with the project and construction is underway. We expect the plant to be in production in Q3 2014. We are building it on the same model as our plant in Agbara, which as I said has been very successful. The equipment is already here in Nigeria as is the prefabricated building and with the foundations being poured in the next week we will be making rapid progress
ok cool

Ngwakwe: We are not talking about solving all problems. We are talking about financial prudence and available resources.

Is there any place in Abia State you will walk say 100 meters without running, clean and hygienic water from borehole?

Many people have there homes, kitchens, bathrooms, toilets and fields directly connected to portable water though borne out of competition and ingenuity. Water is water anyhow.

Almost every family and compound have borehole while Abia State Government makes money from them by taxing those in the town N1000 per month. Enough for IGR
it is unfortunate you see nothing wrong in people sinking boreholes....look some business concerns in aba and environs are complaining about infrastructure and seems not to be doing anything about it.....industrial activities to thrive need supporting infrastructure...do not support mediocrity......orji does not even know how to solve strategic problems of the state.

billante: i made onitsha 2pm from lagos....we left 7pm! this is something that i has never happened during xmas period since i started for going for xmas for the past 10 yrs! the amazing thing is dat i have been traversing anambra towns and villages since i came in two days ago and have not met one single serious pot hole!

even inside onitsha town is mostly pot hole free......from zik roundabout to ogbunike on the onitsha-enugu expressway is a marvel so smooth and wide! i would say nigerian roads is a huge leap from where we are coming from from
seperate roads within anambra that are state roads from those that are federal like enugu onitsha highway and oba nnewi uga highway.
