So from the post below, why is Afam trying to distance Nzeogwu from Igbo by claiming he is from the mid-west?
Don't respond to only my post; if there are factual inaccuracies being stated by anyone, then you should be able to challenge them regardless. I have witnessed it many times on this forum where Igbo people claim Nzeogwu was from the mid-west. The fact is that Nzeogwu was Igbo and he was NOT the leader of the coup.
You the one confusing a lot of things. As at the time of the coup Okotie Eboh(whom dayokanu was referring to as someone from the present south south) and Nzeogwu were fro the same mid-west.Is that a lie?

Now is someone saying that Nzeogwu is no longer igbo because he was from the midwest? To be honest you are confusing yourself.

Ok now Are yorubas from present kwara state no longer yorubas because they are tagged middle belt or north?

Is Sunday Awoniyi no longer yoruba despite the fact that he was one time the chairman of Arewa Consultative forum?

Does someone cease to be from a particular ethnic group once he hails from a political zone where is ethnic group is a minority?

Igbos that say Nzeogwu was a midwesterner did they say he is no longer igbo?

I am sure you where referring to a particular thread were ndu chuks claimed that Nzeogwu was an easterner and he was corrected by some people with me included. Are we wrong to say that he was a midwesterner? Is he no longer igbo?

Ifeajuna was the leader of the coup. Nzeogwu was recruited at an advanced stage of the planning. Why is it that Igbo people claim Anioma Igbos as Igbo but always refer to Nzeogwu as a mid-westerner?

We have debated this issue several times.
Was nzeogwu an easterner as of that time huhDoes the fact that he was a midwesterner at that time mean he is not igbo huh How many igbos have you seen say that Nzeogwu IS NOT igbo huh

Politics › Re: Jonathan To Remain In Charge While Yar'adua Recovers by asha80(m): 3:41pm On Feb 24, 2010
The question i ask is why was Yaradua suddenly flown to nigeria? Is that the Saudi's where tired of the diplomatic bottlenecks going on with the nigerian officials who wanted to see the sick Yaradua or they feel that Yaradua's sickness can no longer be healed hence they wanted to avoid a sitting president dying in their country?

What about the six ministers that travelled to Saudi yesterday?

Were they aware that Yaradua was at the same time being flown back to Abuja?

So many questions?

Former EFCC investigator, Danjuma Mohammed, assassinated

A former top investigator with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Danjuma Mohammed, was shot dead today in the Gwarimpa area of Abuja by assassins who invaded his home. Mohammed, a Deputy Superintendent of Police who worked as an investigator with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), was a close associate of the exiled former EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu.

He was also one of the first casualties of the power play in the EFCC when Mrs. Farida Waziri took over the reigns of the commission three years ago. Along with Ibrahim Magu and several other experienced investigators at the EFCC, Mohammed was sent back to the police by Mrs. Waziri.

But Saharareporters sources said the FIRS found Mohammed to be a valuable tool and had recruited him to engage in investigating and prosecuting tax defaulters. He reportedly met stiff resistance in the department handling the job in the FIRS before he undertook its reorganization.

Mohammed's assassination would be the second against financial crimes investigators.  In November 2009, Abubakar Umar, a lawyer and special assistant to Ahmeed Al Mustapha, registrar of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), was found brutally assassinated and burned in his car in Abuja. Abubakar had been trailed by unknown assailants after he left work.  He was abducted, shot to death, and set ablaze. His badly burnt body was found near Utako Market in the opposite direction of his residence in Maitama.  Before he was killed, Abuabakar had had some disagreements with the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Usman Bayero Nafada, over land ownership.

Police claim they are looking into this case, but such proclamations in past assassinations have amounted to nothing.

He was trailed by trailed by his assailants on 11th November 2009 who shot him and burnt him in his Toyota Camry car. An autopsy carried out at the National Hospital Abuja revealed a bullet wound in his skull. Initially, the police believed that it was accident. However, after the autopsy report was released, some suspects were arrested but no breakthrough was made in finding his killers.

Beaf,

I am from the Nigerdelta and in fact my village has 13 oil wells, so i am very bitter that the so called "Federal Government" meaning very few people in Abuja, just seize the land and hand it over to cronies from the north who have and will probably not set foot on the lands given to them. Now that is not the subject of our debate today.

The subject matter is T Y Danjuma. And i say that within human expectations T Y Danjuma had been enviable. He was the 3rd highest person in government and in fact was given the head of state on a platter after the assassination of Muritala, but he decided to hand over to Obasanjo and Musa Yaradua (a junior officer). When OBJ enacted the obnoxious Land Use act to seize land in the NigerDelta, he did not use undue influence to benefit himself. It was in fact over 15 yrs after he left government that Abacha allocated the oil block to him. And he did not even support Abacha publicly, in fact he was instrumental to helping get rid of Abacha. Most people in Government( especially from the west and east) today were strong supporters of Abacha. He was instrumental in bringing OBJ from prison to presidency because he believed in OBJ, but fell out on principle barely 6 months after joining the government. He only stayed to the end of the first term based on pleadings from people. During his reign at the ministry of defense, we did not hear of a single scandal (ask Ribadu).

So his major crime now is to tell the world that he made $500million from the sale of an oil block allocated to him?

If is Danjuma lacks integrity can you list 3 Nigerians that have more integrity? Maybe Awolowo, MKO Abiola and Dangote.
then why are we always complaing here that nigeria is a unjust country when we as ordinary citizens accept these unjustness. huh

You people have more Igbo miscreants than the others who are more likely to leave derogatory remarks!!! None of you trying to act saintly or should I say devoid of bias EVER puts your brothers in order but rather make their threads flourish.
Simple since those who left derogatory remarks could not even cautioned their people (even Seun yes i said it Seun joined in the snide remarks then) then it gave the opportunity for the so called igbo micreants to emerge.

Funnily enough this thing also exists in NVS where supposdly more matured nigerians go to dicuss issues.

UPDATED: Coup D'etat in Niger Republic
Written by Saharareporters, New York
Thursday, 18 February 2010 10:46

Saharareporters has learned that a bloody coup d'etat in is progress in the republic of Niger where the president, Mamadou Tanja, recently extended his tenure in defiance of public opinion. Sources at the ECOWAS headquarters in Abuja told our reporters that they are yet to get a full picture of the insurrection against the Nigerien government as the time of filing this report.

Niger republic and Guinea are currently suspended from the Economic Council of West Africa States. Sources in the state capital Niamey said the coupists have gained control of the Presidential Villa. They are claims (unverified) that the president of Niger and the prime minister have been captured by the coup plotters.
