flashgeek: The answer is “show off” / Madness. Maybe you haven’t noticed but Nigerians love to show off and in a very ridiculous way for that matter.
What other people in developed countries don’t give a damn about , we Nigerians will show off with it and even worship it.
In developed countries worldwide , driving a nice car like a BMW ,a Jaguar or a Range Rover is not a BIG DEAL. People simply walk into a car shop ,purchase the car and drive it home without making any noise to their friends ,but in Nigeria if a person buys a Tokunbo car from cotonou he will throw a party for his friends to celebrate the car. LOL
Even buying a new cellphone in Nigeria “calls” for a celebration. We too dey local for naija. We never soji at all ,we just soji for the wrong side. We are not mature mentally , we are still in the dark ages but we keep fooling ourselves believing that we are the smartest and happiest people on the planet. Nigeria is the only country I know of where streets are blocked in the name of a party.
I remember one dumb Naija boy here who was dating a mixed South African girl ,this guy was so local that he was telling his friends that he was dating an oyinbo girl just because the girl is mixed and has a very light skin. Talk of inferiority complex.
We need serious Koboko flogging to get our senses right!! Correct yarns! |

Group canvasses for Yoruba autonomy Cover Stories Jan 12, 2010 By Ola Ajayi IBADAN—PROMINENT sons and daughters of Yoruba under the aegis of Atayero have set up a committee to agitate for a confederacy which would give autonomy to the Yoruba nation. The committee was set up yesterday in Ibadan after a prolonged deliberation on how the Yoruba nation could get off the claws of its oppressors and have a remarkable progress. Many contributors lamented disunity among leaders in the zone. A man that represented the youths gave a stern warning to the older generation in the zone that they needed to act fast before they took up arms like the Niger Delta militants. Meanwhile the founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress(OPC) Dr. Fredrick Fasheun warned the nation to handle the case of ailing President Umaru Yar’Adua with caution so that the restiveness of the Niger Delta would not resurface. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/01/12/group-canvasses-for-yoruba-autonomy/ |

debosky: He is not in charge - ANYONE can chair a meeting. If you see the pictures, he doesn't even sit where the president would sit, the chair is left VACANT to show that the PRESIDENT is absent.
How should he lead? Please be explicit on this and don't make vague statements - lead how? According to the lawyers (and I am not one) the Oaths Act allows the CJN to swear in any judicial officer in the land, including his replacement. If anyone feels this is wrong, let them go dispute in the courts.
Don't be daft - if the president is dead he AUTOMATICALLY takes over as president. Is the president dead now?
Jonathan cannot force the FEC to declare him permanently incapacitated - it is not in his power nor remit to do so. Maybe what they mean is that Goodluck should usurp the powers of the Yaradua and be signing documents and awarding contracts as well as making 'presidential' statements without being sworn in |

Kobojunkie: CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE
10 POVERTIES
Poverty of Ideas- a dictatorship Constitution brought about by a Treasonable power clique which tells lies about our rights is unfit for us. We want a people's Constitution.
Poverty of Performance-inability to conduct a free and fair election only allows the wrong people to lead us. We suffer when we are disabled from changing leadership fairly.
Poverty of Resource-water, light, road no dey! The health of our people is imperiled by lack of care of government.
Poverty of Hope-education has collapsed at primary, secondary and university levels. Consequently, there can be no national progress. Not one decent public primary school exists in Nigeria not to talk of secondary schools or universities.
Poverty of Honor-our people don't even know where in the world a supposedly elected President is or how he is. Haba!
Poverty of the Mind-we are governed by an oppressive, corrupt and pitiless clique who consume 95% of national resources and are disdainful of us.
Poverty of Regard-we are embarrassed and diminished in the world community by the abnormal passion of one of us who wanted to murder 300 innocent citizens of 17 nations, internet scammers, money launderers, 419ers, bank fraudsters who desecrate the value of our ancestors and our nation.
Poverty of Spirit-we kill each other at home in the name of God because of abnormal religious confusion and passion, which should have no place in the house of God.
Poverty of Commerce - majority of our citizens have no food to eat, starvation is rife and common, consuming the commoners who own Nigeria. Meanwhile unemployment of youths dominates the land.
Poverty of Environment-the cities are dirty, disorderly, crowded, unplanned and crime prone! Insecurity has become the order of the day while leaders condone state power for total self-protection.
"Nigeria can only know justice, peace and progress when her citizens will work for it. Join the campaign against the 10 Poverties. "Join the campaign take-off on January 12, 2010, in Abuja.
This is especially for those who have no clue how bad the Nigerian situation is. And this goes to the I LIVE IN NIGERIA AND KNOW IT ALL CROWD --- hear from your own Wole Soyinka, if no one else! Na lie nothing is wrong with nigeria. It is in the figment of your imagination Soyinka. |
