I'm just learning that today. That's some weird laws.
Even developed countries dont operate like that. The states should be able tl tap into their own resources, ofcourse with an agreement to return a quota to the federal govenment. Not wait till the federal government has the time and resources to come and tap into what the state government sees everyday.
that is one of those issues with the Nigerian state that people have problem with...bitumen is in ondo in commercial quantities but it is not been tapped unless FG says so or when it is ready

With all the coal, what did dey make out of it? What efforts has the state and even d people of the state made to maximise the resources given to them freely by nature/God? Instead, they r busy chanting marginalisation and protesting succession to form biafra!
Ithink what igbos need is what they can do for themselves to make the life of an average igbo man better,to make the igbo child have a good future, and to encourage development of d skills given to we igbos freely by God.
Long live igbos,,long live every peaceful tribe in nigeria, long live nigeria.

PointB:
Actually, the bolded is your opinion. As we speak, there is an armed rebellion going on in Syria. The 'rebels' are openly asking for weapons, and they are getting it. There are other examples, so please stick to what you are certain of. International politics is as defined by the interest of the big and small players.

To answer your question, Igboland don't need an armed conflict, but Igboland must be ready to defend herself from in case of and armed conflict, which the 'body language' of the incumbent is suggesting. And one of the best way to prevent such is by MAD - Mutually Assured Destruction. Biafrans must be fully armed, and must be ready to take the fight to Nigeria territory, as that's the best means of discouraging the an armed conflict. MAD is what is keeping Russians and US from having a go at each other. Those who seek freedom must not be afraid of death as all men must die! The foolish governors must first make way for those who are in tune with the reality of time for this to happen.

And if you agree Buhari made a mistake arresting him, why are you against his release? The foolish president must de-escalate the situation by releasing Kalu and offering talks! Otherwise, he'll spend more money buying weapons rather than improving infrastructure - that's a recipe for failure.
and you want mind igboland turning to Syria with Igbo refugees moving around neighbouring Africa countries looking for asylum? I.hope you know some of the erosion issues in the se were cause by bombs that were dropped in the war back then that created craters than eventually snowballed into erosion? Look my own is that igboland does not witness any armed conflict again because i doubt we will recover from it again..there are already dearth of infrastructure that really needs uplifting and it is not like the last administration did anything meaningful

My friend mark this comment down
I also hope the DSS also marks this comment down
Nigeria has 2 choice
1) Give the Igbos autonomy to decide their fate in Nigeria
2) Forget One Nigeria
Take it or leave it
The thought of armed struggle has started filling the Igboman.
A spark of injustice is what will propel them to fight. cool
Armed conflict is only romantic in books and films

He solicited for weapons right?

Well I have news for you, the Niger Delta militants were armed to the teeth, they killed, kidnapped and caused economic sabotage, but today they are powerful men if not power brokers! And if current FG have the their they are ready to offer Shekau similar package as they did the militants.

So Kanu publicly asking for weapons is not a big deal, even if he fires one. Or is it because he's an Igbo with a message?
I repeat it was not a good move by him..you don't do such openly..the niger delta militants did no solicit fir weapons openly so that comparison does not stand..if there was supposed to be an international support for Biafra actualization that video alone if presented by FG that kanu wants to cause an armed conflict will just erase whatever sympathy he may have..you think they are interested in another armed conflict?by the way you really don't care if there is an armed conflict in igboland?do you live in igboland or do you visit at all?

EternalTruths:
The truth is that Buhari's government has made the mistake of creating awareness for the guy
Unknown to mumu President, every violent revolution starts peaceful but turns violent as complains are ignored
The fact is that KANU has made up his mind to use his blood to stir up the courage of the Igboman to fight for freedom
The next stage will be armed struggle funded by Igbos world wide
Releasing him is not the issue but addressing the complaints of the Igboman before he picks up arms to fight for freedom.
Remember Niger delta struggle started with speeches to protest to arm struggle
Nigeria survived because the ND wanted a fair share in Nigeria
But
In the case of Biafra, Nigeria will collapse because Biafrans want outright independence.
Let me use dearpreye words
Nigeria has a date with the truth. cool
Pointb
buhari made the mistake of arresting him in the first instance( though his inciting hate messages can be used against him if eventually gets to icc ie kanu)..i dont know about you but last thing igboland needs now is arms flying around and an armed conflict..it would would create a so much Chaos igboland would find difficult to get over
PoliticsRe: S-east Govs Divided Over Pro-biafra Struggle - Vanguard by asha80(m): 8:54am On Nov 09, 2015
PointB:
The protesters are not violent, not faceless, they are peaceful and have made demands. There demand should be taken seriously by the elected leaders (ala Fayose style). But hiding behind some offices, and pretending they are miscreants won't help the issue.

Ipeazu neutrality, as well Umahi disdain and Rochas dismissive posturing will not solve the problem; and the problem will not just go away with time.

Nnamdi Kalu should be released, and negotiation with the agitators should begin in earnest. If the protests turns violent, more violence will be required to quell it, and only God knows how that will pan out. And sincerely, I don't see how that will help the government (State and FG). Violence itself cost lot of money by the way, and the State pay more for violence than non-state actors!
not sure about kanu being released...not when he solicited for weapons openly...there are things you don't do openly .
.moreover violence is only going to affect the economy of the places the violence occurs

It's a grass root driven protest ( a bottom up approach). Sooner or later those standing by the fence, and those opposing it will join force and help bring the aspiration to fruition.

Sovereignty belongs to the people; the elites know this, and would be very careful not go against the trend.

Rochas are you listening - you can't stop the will of the people!!
what about umahi?even ikpeazu said he will not.do anything to the protesters until they start disturbing the peace of the state

Yes, Edo Province.

Edo is part of Biafra if we go with 1906 map. If we exclude Edo, we might lose Delta Igbos as well because they are not part of 1960 map of Biafra.

Biafra can only be created along internationally recognised boundary and only 2 such boundaries exist.
smh..abeg forget Edo or edoid groups as there is no way they will be in this Biafra thing 1906 or not.

Xetima:
from experience Edo people i know don't pander to any group..they seem comfortable on their own
It it up to them. Some of their people prefer being part of Odua republic or remaining subservient to the fulani owners of the Nigerian estate.

(1) Resource control is 100%.
Federal only gets money from federal tax. This is what we have in advanced countries.
Every province shall control how, where and when they mine their resources. Who they sell to and companies to engage.

(9) Provinces would be ethically structured: Igbo Province, Ibibio Province, Ogoni Province, Ijaw Province, Edo Province, and Northern Province.
Edo province?

truth be told..from what I saw in aba two yrs ago, any governor that wants to do any meaningful and long standing road construction and infrastructure improvement in aba has to destroy and remove illegal houses dotted every corner of aba and drainages ( big ones) have to be put at almost every aba road otherwise the governor would be wasting his time
