So what stops the so called north and sw to revert back to federalism that they were supposedly comfortable with now that president and vp are from there

jpphilips:
I will Ignore your insults for now, but be advised that nobody has the monopoly of insults on Nairaland hope we have an understanding.
Back to the Issue pro tempore.
one fact that most of you are ignoring is that not all Niger delta areas produce oil, from the statements of Nnamdi Kanu, he does not say "Niger delta oil" or "SS oil", he calls it "Biafra oil", in other words, Nnamdi Kanu's body language does not agree with you that Biafra will allow Niger delta with 100% resource control.
In History, Ojukwu had the same body language, that was why things fell apart between him and Awolowo when Awolowo asked him "If I secede the South west to help you, what is in it for us"?
It is believed that both regions breaking away at the same time will force the Nigerian side to fight the same war in two fronts thereby overwhelming their capabilities. Ojukwu never answered that question till he died.
Ojukwu is from the SE part of Nigeria where not even a single drop of oil has a chance of flowing same for Nnamdi Kanu, yet both of them (by body language) have an eye on SS oil, How are they different from the Northerners feasting on the SS oil?
I speak from facts not fiction.

Another fact that you misplaced is that Niger delta never presented 100% resource control, it was an activist on the radio just like Nnamdi Kanu that mentioned it, at the time they submitted a proposal for the conference, they proposed 50%, even at that, the Nigerian side had a superior argument, The Nigerian side argued that if that should happen, they will cease to benefit 13% from offshore oil, NDDC and Ministry of Niger delta will cease to be funded from the National budget & if they want to have total control of all the oil fields, they will be ready to pay exploratory cost beyond 2004 (when we signed the PSC) and Operating tax in arrears post 2004 till whenever.
They quickly reverted to the 13% status quo.

It may equally interest you to note that Jonathan a son of the soil whose land is floating on oil and gas in literal terms smuggled in 10% community funds into the PIB hoping that the Niger delta will get 23% in cumulative sum, these are the cards the Nigerian side already have on the table, can you tell me exactly what Biafra is proposing? outside claiming all Niger delta areas as Biafra land and intimidating the SS to accept their terms over a fraudulent radio broadcast, give me a break!!

Opinion is like the @rse hole, everyone is entitled to one, SS can not lay claim to offshore oil which is the new kid on the block, so long as Nigeria has it under her control, trust me, Sokoto and Osun will be just fine.
not sure what you mean that oil in se has no choice of flowing

Why does everyone want airport and seaport in their village? Enugu does not need airport. The Akwa Ibom international airport and the Ibaka Seaport(one of the deepest in the entire world) should be enough to serve akwa ibom,Cross river,Imo,Abia and the entire southern region. Calabar Airport will be the reserve airport for emergency landing and local flights. It is a waste of money and time building any other airport .
Also,Akwa ibom is going to close and secure the Akwa ibom teritorial waters in the western bank due to global warming.I wonder where the Abia and Onitsha will manufacture ocean to build seaport.
are you sure you are ok?

Yujin:
I have been seeing your mode of response on many threads and I think I know you to an extent. You're in support of the status quo. Well I won't argue with you. Just support our quest for biafra then you can change your ethnicity and join any of the numerous ones that will be in Nigeria. Even Sanusi wrote that Ndigbo will challenge the situation they have been subjected to because it is unacceptable but here you are talking about Wike. He might have been very hostile to them but that's nothing compared to the general situation of our people in Nigeria. Do you know how many billions we have lost in the north? What about the lives of our people? Think nwanne, think!
now you are talking.talk about the merits and demerits of Biafra and not add 2015 elections and pdp apc issues to it because it blurrs the whole thing..by the way I dont support the status quo( structurally) and as the agitation goes be mindful of the utterances and feelings of the supposed minority otherwise problems ojukwu faced then will come up again which defeats the experience of learning from mistakes..as for the lives of our people lost in the north I was tell people I know that whatever happens to you living in the north beyod abj and Kaduna Na you know as the guys there are even bombing themselves away let alone you from south..yet tho has not stopped our people from going up there and even build mansions on top..so who is to blame when our people no wan hear word? Even someone here on nairaland an Igbo poster that leaves in Jos told me yesterday of an Igbo man there that is avid listener of radio Biafra and supports what kanu is saying and doing yet he is busy building a mansion there..is that not madness?
PoliticsRe: The Biafran Intention Exposed by asha80(m): 6:35pm On Oct 22, 2015
Yujin:
I might not have witnessed it but no matter the magnitude of damage it can never be compared to what Ndigbo have lost in the north. At present you sit comfortably in southern Nigeria thinking that you have a future in Nigeria. I just laugh at you. You don't know what plans are being hatched to hound you. Already politically you have been murdered. PDP has zoned the presidency of 2019 to the north. What does it tell you? Unu ga-ano na achughari oke ebe uno unu na-agba oku.
a lot of Igbo politicians are in pdp..most pledged their loyalty to pdp..pdp has it stronghold now in se and ss yet it was zoned to north by a committee chaired by ekweremadu..so whose fault is it? Go and tell olisa metu who is pdp spokesman that o no na achughari oke mgbr ulo no na agba oku.
So you are basing your support fir Biafra because of political change of power? If you don't know what was going on during wike's reign as lga chairman then you it means you have no basis for this your argument.
PoliticsRe: The Biafran Intention Exposed by asha80(m): 6:08pm On Oct 22, 2015

Sometimes you should overlook somethings. There's a reason for certain things.
I wish you are in the know of what happened to business men and property builders who were mostly of Igbo descent in obi akpor LGA when wike was chairman
PoliticsRe: The Biafran Intention Exposed by asha80(m): 5:17pm On Oct 22, 2015
jpphilips radio Biafra started before last general elections just that it was after the elections that the station started operating on fm and am bands.

My worry is when nnamdi starts praising someone like wike because he is supposedly resisting apc and Islamic party as he calls apc..that sounds partisan for a supposed secessionist plan
PoliticsRe: Nigeria To Spend $25 Billion On New Infrastructure - Osinbajo by asha80(m): 10:38am On Oct 22, 2015
advocates:
Exactly what we've been clamouring for. Massive infrastructure will not only provide jobs and position the nation to attract investors but also boost our local contents in terms of engineering.

At best, all our infrastructures are either dead or outdated. Past government failed to realised that fixing infrastructural deficits is one guarantee way of displaying the seriousness of governance. Instead, recurrent expenses gulp most of the money meant for structural development.

Good sign I tell you of good things to come. All we can pray for is to ensure we get enough private investors that will take interest in this partnership. This is foresight and leadership that must be supported.

@asha, please stop mentioning refurbishment. What is there to refurbish? As it is now, this government is starting afresh because we can't point out to one infrastructure base that's worthy of refurbishment, except you haven't travelled out to assess development. If we must compete and be at par with the rest developed world, then we must discard these anciently built roads, rail lines, air ports and so on.
if that is the case then 25bn dollars might not be enough

They need to be diregarded & new ones built instead, like MM2 ...

Even Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport Abuja is not being revamped, rather a new one is being constructed right beside it..

As for trains, the world has gone beyond locomotives..
I also wrote modernized ..in developed world more often than not infrastructure are continuously upgraded and modernized and not totally discarded and new ones built

VickJames:
To clear the air about the misconception of Biafra being known after 7years of civil war is false. Biafra has been in existence before the whites came to the present Nigeria. Economically speaking, Biafra is the way forward because the entity called Nigeria is losing it and it will finally go down.

Do you think you will be able to own 70percent of oil wells if the wells were located in the north? I think one will be shared for all eastern states or we go to blazes.

Do you know that there's oil in the north east but they don't want to touch it. They keep telling lies that they have checked but no success. Why? Oil will soon end in south and they will have the economy to control. This is not Nnamdi Kanu's propaganda, its fact on ground. So south south people, enjoy your union.

You said Buhari chose Igbo man twice or thrice without success. But you know that we still voted for an Hausa man instead of him (Yaradua). We still voted for Yoruba and Hausa pairing against our own brothers. But please check very well, the Hausas have been in government either by VP or President since 1999 but igbos have never been VP or President since then.

Have you ever been to the east? The east is smaller than Niger State but Niger State have better roads than the whole southeast. So what are we not saying? I know you'll csay Jonathan was the president, right? But who were the ministers of works and minister of roads?
the minister or works was onolememen an Edo man and not a northerner..so Jonathan cannot mandate his works minister to make sure that fg rds in se and even in his ss are in good condition?so where does the bulk stop?do you kniw the senate and house of rep committee chairmen of rds and works were all from se? So how come northern rds are better as said by you? Abeg make I hear word

What buhaari is doing is nothing but bare-faced tribalism never seen in the history of this country. . , and he keeps going on with this attitude because we have the south west press and politicians totally behind him. . A lot of people will say well, you people of the SE didn't vote for him. But the fact remains that folks in the SE didn't vote for him because we know him as a very petty minded tribalist. Essentially, we know he will be like this. He is not like this because we didn't vote for him. He has always been this little in his thoughts and cations towards the SE.
why did he pick se men as vp in 2003 and 2007?

What on earth is a "super highway"? Shouldn't the government simply be focused on repairing existing roads?

Port Harcourt - Owerri is a road that needs serious attention.
Port Harcourt - Enugu is another one that needs mega attention
Lagos - Ibadan needs super dupa attention
Benin - Shagamu while largely done, I understand still has a few small bad portions
And i'm sure there are many more roads you more traveled guys out there can think off...

And here we are starting a brand new "super" highway......!!!!
