Aareonakakanfo:
It hasn't been done because we've never been too serious about it.If we're to be granted regional autonomy, trust me it will be implemented. An autonomous region is nearly another country, the only thing is we can't control migration. This is the same thing that was said when Lagos wanted to adopt Yoruba language in the Lagos state house of assembly despite the fact that the assembly is multi-ethnic
get the autonomy first but with this structure now forget it

Dont compare delibrating in Yoruba once a week to this..they are not on the same pedestal and this delibrating thing in a mother tongue also occurs in other house of assemblies on their own chosen days...it is not the same thing as changing fundamental way of teaching in a whole region outside what the center says

Can you give me the reasons why you think its impossible to implement in Nigeria?
have you asked your self why it has not being done before? Fafunwa did an experiment with it and according to him it a was successful so why was it not adopted? You are in Nigeria not oduduwa republic..you think ministry of education of Nigeria would allow such to be implemented ? The president and senators and house of reps from wherever they might come from would just watch and see it come through? Guy no pretend abeg

I said impossible to implement in Nigeria where subjects are taught in Yoruba not unrealistic in actually doing it ie teaching in Yoruba

E go be like cartoon for your eyes when your kids start speaking Yoruba better than the Alaafin of Oyo.That one small sef, i hope to see a yorubaland where the cheeks of all migrants will be lacerated with proper Ibadan tribal marks.Una never see chin chin
this is just a feel good statement..as for people speaking a language better than the aborigines that is old nothing new ..it happens west , east ,north and south if one has lived there long enough

Aareonakakanfo:
If we don't take that step now, then i fear for the future of Yoruba language.Yoruba was compulsory back when i was in secondary school. We all did NL1 and NL2 yet some of us still struggle with the language.Russia doesn't teach its students with English, same with Germany, same with China,So why are we Yorubas using English language in our schools. If other regions want to adopt Igbo or Hausa languages too, then good for them.Yeah people might talk about the fact that's the language that unites all tribes but should we let that be at the detriment of our language?
Anyone who's not ready to learn the language should go back to his cave
this would only be feasible in a Yoruba sovereign nation..in a Nigeria? Forget it..dont compare Germany and china to Yoruba in this context

Don't mind those bunch of sore losers, GEJ and his Ijaw people had moved on but we no go rest from these cowards
my annoyance os kanu seems to be pushing this party agenda issue..one guy posted a quote that kanu made in one of his speeches that wike is a real man for standing up to apc the Islamic party..i now asked the guy whether kanu is not aware of wike's action during his stint as obi akpor LGA chairman on regards to how he encourage touts to fleece business men and property owners who were mostly Igbo of there hard earned money?

Another one is where one of his followers posted and statement that kanu made that says that apc has gotten owerri and striving to get uyo and ph to complete a triangle to hone in on east..my question is what of any governor of abia,Enugu, anambra, ebonyi or cross river cross carpets to apc then now what ? No be the same politicians I know? So if for anything pdp gets back power these guys would dumb down agitation since they would be in power? Na wao

Guy use your brain, my late dad was a Biafran war veteran and I'll love to follow his path if possible but never through the albino Kanu way.
actually a good portion of these nnamdi's followers now or recent converts are angry about the fallout out of the last election..some people believed it was so and i never wanted to believe it but some utterances I am beginning to see has made change my mind as regards that

nothing to gain if he is Igbo..unlike all other ones you posted that have Yoruba names whether as first, second or last names or where it was mentioned that his father is from Yoruba tribe in Nigeria nothing shows about this guy's descent from any particular Nigerian group

And here I am thinking I alone have such a heart. May God bless him abundantly. His words struck me: what is the use of wealth if not to better the lives of others. Mr. Maduka you will never stumble. God will multiply you in billion folds so that you can do more. Anyone who plans evil against you shall suddenly to cut off. God will continue to guide you.
I'm not too sure of this nonetheless I'll say it. While passing through this community sometime around 2010, a guy told me of a lingering crisis surrounding the name of the community. How a certain wealthy man was pushing for a change from the traditional name called Nkerehi to Umuchukwu. He said the man build a lot of things for his people and wants to use that to control the community. To me its just a one sided story so I didn't have much to say but I did see the market and church he built- what a beautiful church building. A road construction was equally going on at that time and the community is really a very rural one. Could it be this same man?
it is the same man..i know when than controversy was on

Nigeria is not wealthy neither is it that tough! Let them wipe out Boko Haram.

I've told you no country thrives being an isolated island and that's what Nigeria would be if they violate the primary charter that makes Ecowas.

Abandoned properties was treated as Nigeria's internal problem but it would be a different case if Biafra becomes a country.

Abandoned properties can NEVER happen again!

For the sake of those ones, we will keep speaking the truth, until it takes hold, and grows.
you can speak the truth but don't bank on them supporting you..it was a mistake ojukwu made..never assume because you and someone are suffering the same fate will mean what you see as a means to solve that issue is what the other would see too

Obiagu1:
Well, Ecowas and AU are not as toothless as you think; they've forced dictators out and reversed successful coups.

Yes any country in Africa could enact any law but you fail to understand what 'pressure' is.
It is pressure that forced South African government to protect foreigners in their country despite the fact they actually support the locals, it is pressure that forced Ghana to soften their stance on foreigners trading in their country.

Yes pressure from all over the world would change their cause of action.

As for war, it doesn't take much to fight when tension is so high, no one settles down until we are safe both home and abroad.
it takes finance and personel to fight wars and not emotions(tension).inthis case emotion is like fuel while money and personel are like cars.

Dont hope on au and ecowas..they are not as strong as you make them to be

By supporting Biafra, ethnicities in SS will gain a veritable tool to negotiate total resource control, if they wish to stay in Nigeria.
As Nigeria will have no option but to offer them total resource control, if not they dump Nigeria for Biafra.

guy you have lived in ph and rivers long enough to know the feelings of those minorities concerning Igbo..it is better not to think for them..if a people can invite bini people and prostrate and change the title of their leader it will be foolhardy to expect they would support this Biafra issue
PoliticsRe: SouthSouth Support Igbo Only Biafra To Gain Total Resource Control From Nigeria by asha80(m): 9:23pm On Oct 23, 2015
Obiagu1:
Explain why it is laughable...
simple..any country within Africa (I said Africa) is more than capable of enacting whatever law it deems fit with worrying much all these ecowas and au..let us face it these organizations are more often toothless bulldogs compared to eu
A hostile nation(because that is what they would be to Biafra) are more than capable of seizing Biafran properties if they want to.

As for war,Biafra will not have settled to govern themselves and raise money to run govt and provide highly needed infrastructure it is war that they prosecute
PoliticsRe: SouthSouth Support Igbo Only Biafra To Gain Total Resource Control From Nigeria by asha80(m): 9:13pm On Oct 23, 2015
Obiagu1:
For the Igbos that worry about their properties and businesses outside Igboland, Biafra and Nigeria will remain members of Ecowas and that means freedom of movement within the member states. We have millions of Igbos in other West African countries.

If for some stupid reason Nigeria tries to tamper with your property outside Biafra, then they will be ostracised by Ecowas and AU and they risk full scale war with Biafra, now an independent country without any restrictions to acquire whatever munitions they so desire.

Every Igbo should support Biafra fully because you have nothing to fear.
your second paragraph is laughable and should not be taking seriously

We understand Nigerians wanted change. Buhari became the face of change.

Now buhari has become president in a very critical time of this country. Oil prices have gone down and any mistake in management will ground our economy.

This is not a time to put party or ethnic group before the nation. So i hope Buharis appointments so far are for national interest and not regional or party.

I can only explain the situation buhari is facing like someone who is sitting for an exam that takes 90mins . 60mins into the exam your answer paper is thorn and you have to start afresh. No extra time will be giving. Ofcourse we know that someone who is an itibolibo, that was copying from someone will not pass that test.

But and extremely intelligent person will be able to make a pass from that 30mins.

Yes i dont like thebidea of devaluation and buhari did not like it in 1984 and he still doesnt like it.

Restrictions have been place of forex by cbn to promote manufacturing etc.

This is affecting alot of businesses. JP morgan removed Nigeria from index do to lack of flexibility.

Lack of policy scares investors away from the country. The anti corruption fight, has forced even the corrupt to cut down spending.

Companies are laying of staff in thousands. Businesses closing down. Lending rates discourage manufacturing.

All the promises made by the Buhari has been denied and blamed on party members. Boko haram attacks is becoming common. Nigerians are killed on a daily and we hear warnings to the sect to surrender. From the time the first warning was given to this third one over 200 Nigerians have died.

Instead of 2 million jobs a year over 10000 jobs have been lost. Instead of end to bokoharam Nigerians are killed on a daily.

Instead of naira appreciation, its depreciating against the dollar .

Alot of people are going to bed hungry against the free food promised school children.

The poorest Nigerians that should bt paid 5000 as promised a becoming poorer.

Custom lifts ban on rice import to kill the local producers.

In the mist of the job losses, collapsing businesses, Electricity tariff to be increased by 40% ?

There is a limit to Nigerians elasticity. I hope Nigerians can cope.

I don't about you guys in the south but here in Kaduna where I stay the hardship is too much, every is suffering because of lack of money.. Civil servants with pot belly prior to this administration have all gone flat tommy, both the rich and poor are crying, where the all the money gone yet we keep hearing that they are recovering money from corrupt past government officials but still yet the situation is getting worst.. Yesterday I was in Kaduna central market, this is a very busy market and it use to be very crowdy but to my surprise it was very scanty you can even play football on the street of the market.. All the market people where lamenting lack of market, I even spotted of them sleeping in their shops.. The situation out here is bad!!!!!!!.. I was complaining to some elderly people about the hardship in the country they were telling that this was the same situation that happened in the 80s that buhari ruled. How they suffered and their businesses collapsed and that's why they were warning the youth about voting buhari in power again but the youths were carried away by the mantra of change..
I know the last adminstration were very corrupt but atleast money was in circulation and there was not much suffering like this, imagine some people are even selling their properties just to meet up with their wants.. Abeg the government of buhari should forget about petty issues of amaechi, saraki and others, its distracting the governance of this nation, let them face the issue of the economy and security that's what we voted them for
el rufai is probably more interested in using the money for infrastructure development and not sharing lol
