I am ready to forward the info to any group of landlords.
It is no longer acceptable to build such magnificent homes along such awful streets. Landlords in Igbo cities must imbibe and revolutionize the use of interlocking stones and gutters on both ends to make the roads on their street motorable. It is the right thing to do an it won't cost too much to do it with interlocking stones.
I wonder why estate management firms dont seem to be incorporated in all these.
Those estate firms that operate in Abuja can also be incorporated into expanding house construction going on in anambra

they are free to live. But telling lagos not to develop because some inconsequential folks can't cope with the hustle is a no-no.
so the commuters and white collar workers who are indigenes should live their homeland if they can't cope and leave it for Foreigners' who are always husling to make ends meet abi?

Step one~dredge river Niger
Step two~relocate some multinational H.q offices to other part of the country..
Step three~build cargo airports across the country especially the east
Step four~create jobs

Half of lagos populace are fed up with the stress...but they gat to eat..
I think building another deep sea port on an appropriate place on the other side of niger will be much better

SenseiX:
Vice President Osinbajo was present when Kukah made that statement today at the platform. It has to be legit, Kachikwu was nominated but he'll serve just as Minister Of State Petroleum along with NNPC GMD, so not really a substantive minister.
A state can have two nominees I think, Rivers had Nyesom Wike and Ama Pepple, Jigawa had Ruquayattu Rufai and Nurudeen Mohammed, Delta had NOI and Orubebe.
It is however weird though that both Utomi and Kachikwu come from the same part of Delta.
not sure it matters if it senior or junior minister..they all cant be senior ministers will they?

I think the rate at which you guys cry and whine has moved people from reasoning or feeling irritated about your issues. What they do now is laugh and even taunt you.

Lagos gets more flights cos it has a huge population and a viable region with many expatriate. Kano and PH have almost similar too. Until SE can boast of a very viable city, am afraid this whining will continue.

You had an airport, you burnt it down with a war. Thesame hausa men you hate gave you an international one(yaradua). Thanks to GEJ for the continuation and the shoddy job that made the airport waterlogged.

You can't blame the yorubas because airlines don't see your airport attractive enough. You now have an airport, its up to you to make it work. You can't expect to be spoon-fed after served food.

The moment you start blaming yourselves for your woes is the moment you get liberation.

The biafra you are clamouring, you had it on a platter of gold. The lord lugard you so much hate lumped the southern minorities in thesame region with you. Your greed for power to control the whole of nigeria made you lose that great gift. You chose to lead a coup over regionalism which would have seen you control the rich oil region. Now, the minorities have given themselves an identity and aren't interested in a lord lugard marriage with you guys. Thesme greed that made you lose the trust of the SS is thesame greed that led to a war which killed enugu airport which ought to be competing with PH and Kano by now

The moment you start blaming yourselves for your woes is the moment you get liberation.

The "issue" is what role the federal government has to play in things like this. The cost is not really the problem; the problem is with an overbearing federal government that can stop you even if you can afford it, or worse still stop you AFTER you've spent money by an executive fiat, especially now that we have a near dictator in charge.
I personally believe that if there is no federal interest whatsoever, private investors can raise the money and build the whole thing.
The return on investment is too tempting.
Prove me wrong though.
I agree with your last paragraph..whether fg will not use executive fiat against it will be an issue..also private investors are best suited to do these type of capital intensive project with the economic downhill at the moment..the so called lekki and badagry sea ports that are to be constructed are private financed driven

To answer your question, a very brilliant idea was given by a patriotic igbo man in the moniker of lyn19. He said, we can build an offshore platform for our goods and use smaller ships to convey them to the shore. I think that's a brilliant idea.

If you want something to be done, you'll always look for ways for it to be done.
offshore? And the Nigerian state will just watch you build offshore platform right? Which state will this offshore platform be near?

Igbo Kwenu! Igbo Kwenu!! Igbo Kwezuenu oooooo!!!

I have been saying it and I will keep on saying it. Let's build
seaport in the east. It is very important we understand the
happenings of our country before we make decisions. The
igbo tribe is blessed with men and women capable of being
self-reliant but we love to throw away every opportunity of
doing just that. Like someone said, Apapa is a gridlock. If
you haven't been to Apapa/wharf you won't understand
what these guys are saying. It is locked!

But I think Lagosians are sharper than we the igbos. Lagos
wants to build new seaport in Badagry and maybe lekki too.
That means more money for the already congested state.
Lagos has also opened new sites in Ibeju-lekki. Don't be
surprised, that will be your lekki phase 3. What are igbos
doing about it? Still lurking around and waiting for other
people to do their job.

I know many people will say seaport is not the important
thing, oh! Please, our economy is being run on the sea! So,
why can't you run your economy on your own sea? The IGR
of Lagos state is presently 28billion, like 3/4 of it from who?
Igbos! You cannot continue to feed other people and you
continue to starve. We have even started importing from cotonou. Igbos can enrich other people but feel very lazy to do thesame thing at home. I still say it anywhere, build a seaport and see the east explode like a mad man. People will say Rivers, Calabar and Delta state has seaport. No! They don't! Why? Its either not functioning or they don't have people who can import/export from there.

My people, we have people to export our goods to. We have
goods and raw material that we need. We have investors to
flirt with. We shouldn't sleep and let other states wake up
before we do. We should wake faster than the others.
Investors want igbos to do business because if we do
business, they'll be rich! Build a seaport will be very expensive, but the real expensive thing is, not doing anything about it!

Enjoy

BTW: If all Obiano said there is true, prepare for an explosive anambra state in 10years time.
tell me the spot where a seaport that can entertain ocean liners can be located in igboland

We just need to be ourselves.

Nigeria is set to implode. A nation cannot "cut off its nose to spite its face" forever.

I live in Lagos, Lagos is full, almost choking from congestion. If they like, let them refuse to locate federal infrastructure elsewhere.
I hear apapa port is gridlocked now

This is how we waste our time with self flagellation.

Obasanjo and Jonathan were both president, what did they do for their respective regions?

We need to finally come to terms with the problem, the problem is Nigeria as currently structured. The Federal Government is near useless and our only hope as Ndigbo is devolution of power and restructuring of this federation.

Not struggling for oil rents.

The Federal Government is responsible for that road, not us.

Nobody blames "Yoruba leaders" or "Yoruba people" for the state of the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.

We should stop falling for cheap distractions and hold the Federal Government responsible.
you did not understand the context in which I said 'us'..he earlier wrote that fg (which is right) did not do anything about those rds because other parts of the country who controlled fg wanted to suffer the se( now this is where I have a bit of issue with because 'our men' where also influential in the last fg but still nothing)

in the last administration chairman senate committee on road construction was ayogu eze..house of rep chairman on rd construction was ozomgbachi ogbuefi..there were other high ranking se people in the last administration who also had the ears of the last administration but still Enugu Onitsha and Enugu ph rds did not get any meaningful reconstruction..so if the FG administration before the last did not do anything on those rds pray tell why didn't the last administration that was regarded as being se friendly and had son influential people in the government (including sgf) not do anything about the most critical rds in the se?
