Meanwhile, the "deposit wars" has started already...
Most banks have given their marketers new targets to be met for both Q3 and FYE to cushion the effect of the TSA implementation.
The hustle is real... I pity the female marketers |

Is it now about him being corrupt or him not supposedly according to you involved in buhari's campaign? Are you an inner caucus member of apc to know whether he did not contribute? Are you also aware that Festus was part of the transitional committee set up by buhari to handle the documents the previous govt handed over to the present govt? The same committee headed by Ahmed joda? |

More banking jobs to go. I would love to hear your views on tho vis a vis what is obtainable in uk(that is how uk banks operate and how they sustain themselves) |
Politics › Re: N2.6trn Govt Deposits In 20,000 Bank Accounts To Be Closed This Week by asha80(m): 12:17pm On Sep 13, 2015 |
refreshrate: Ok
A lot of private companies and outfits run on loans and overdrafts. Take for instance a contract is issued to such a private company, especially with regards to procurement, a lot of these companies dont have the capital to follow through, so they go to the banks.
The banks themselves have no money per se except for depositors funds a lot of which sadly is what daura is about to pull out.
Now if the banks have no money to give or at best make it very difficult to have funding, the private companies cant execute contracts, which means less money for them, which inevitably means either sacking of their staff or closure of the business totally. ok understood but from the article the funds to be withdrawn are govt funds or govt agencies funds so I don't get the when you said depositors funds |
Politics › Re: N2.6trn Govt Deposits In 20,000 Bank Accounts To Be Closed This Week by asha80(m): 12:04pm On Sep 13, 2015 |
rusher14: Banks are not meant to be artificially dependent on government accounts for sustenance.
Most banks in Nigeria refuse to maintain the true ethos of banking. They are mostly in to round tripping of funds, money laundry, and fast schemes which are inimical to the growth of the people.
Truly, there would be a downsizing of the work force but it is important for the banks to begin to see themselves as crucial to the growth and development of the Nation.
They should begin to fund enterprise, housing and infrastructure. What they've enjoyed for years are artificial deposits that benefit only the bankers and Directors of these government agencies.
Retail Banking isn't even meant to be one of the choice professions of graduates who have studied everything from agronomy to zoology. From engineering to Meteorology.
The party had to end some time.
Music wasn't even right ab Initio.
What you say here is the simple truth though. .just that process of this rule must tell on the labour force in banks..a case of something that ought to have been done a long time ago like many other things in the country |

onatisi: there will be no loans to give. This is a good move for the government in order to curb corruption within govt parastatals but the implementation is wrong. Only the top 5 banks in Nigeria can operate optimally without these accounts and give loans the rest cant just asking which are the top 5 banks here? refreshrate: Unfortunately its the 'graduates' that are looking for jobs or at best earning next to nothing (why am i surprised considering their level of thought anyway) that seem to see this as a reasonable thing. Its not only state govts, even the private companies will not be able to sustain overhead either and gbam, more sacks from that area as well. And the americans just had to stop visa lottery in Nigeria now that i need it most. Should have listened to my ex girlfriend i swear Just want to know how are this decision going to affect private companies or outfits |

AnambraDota: Thanks so much for the info, am glad its happening.
I must not be versatile about the media coverage and PremiumTimes and SaharaReporters are the last website I will open with my MB and read their thrash.
They would have reported to the mainstream media houses now, even the company have no website to start with. No advert yet both in newspapers, radios, TVs, internet or billboards...they are not communicating
When I saw media coverage they need to be not just being reported by newsmedia houses but on social networks like facebook and twitter.
We need all these things, great things are happening down East bu many don't know, even those in East rely on Lagos media to feed them.
We need it many media reported it ..dont know about their website... http://www.newsexpressngr.com/news/detail.php?news=7330http://www.punchng.com/business/business-economy/anammco-abc-assemble-chinese-trucks-in-enugu/ |

AnambraDota: Yes many moribund companies need to be sold while government should retain percent of shares in the company.
If Enugu abi Eastern Nigeria should retain 30% stake in all the moribund coys that litter Enugu that will be very good.
Am not asking for government to revive it but to shop for investors aggressively to buy them up no matter the cost.
I have been to Emene but once, the day I was there I was impress with many companies I saw. Now Leventis has completed its plant in Ibadan but we are yet to know what ANAMMCO is doing currently, no media coverage, no tangible products. Unless if Emene has detoriated but I don't see any need again for government investing heavily in that place because the roads where good when I visited there.
Another poser is why do we Igbos request heaven and earth from our government to set up a business in Igboland but when we go abroad we water deserts and sandfill Oceans without government help to establish businesses.
Ask an Igbo in Kano or Ilorin to establish company in East he will start asking you for seaport or airport whereas in Kano there is no seaport.
Atiku kept everything at Adamawa State, university, colleges, farms, feedmill, et al but ours will relocate to Lagos or Abuja to site theirs guy it seems you are behind when it comes to news http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/172143-anamco-restarts-operations-assembles-trucks.htmlhttp://thenationonlineng.net/abc-subsidiary-firm-roll-locally-assembled-trucks/This happened last yr while the truck they produce now I shaqman |

They just don't care about the prosperity of Nigerian economy, so long as they can hurt Igbo in the process of destroying Nigerian economy.

We are talking about motor parts, clothes and electronics. Yorubas were the king , even manufacturing refrigerators and freezers in the days before importation was let loose. Why should any Lagosian go all the way to Aba to buy the same goods that others can easy import into Lagos and trade in here as well. Ifeanyi Uba, Lagos based business man has relocated back to the east to invest. Started his own football club, with his own oil business relocating to the east.
My friend, the biafran movement has started..you should be happy that the Igbos are finally leaving your beloved Lagos for you.
