BuscadoRealty: This I understand there is no office of the first lady. It doesn't make sense that there is no office of the first lady and but even recognized as the wife of the president would not be regarded with respect when travels. I don't think the wife of any president has come to Nigeria or visited any country that sure a country will not acknowledge her presence. It sounds absurd and a total disrespect to such a country.
Any presidential wife coming into Naija is ultimately a 1st lady! As crazy n as absurd as it sounds, PMB's decision not to recognize such an office as created a lacuna!
How do u treat d wife of a president, not a 1st lady? That's d scenario we av found ourselves. If he creates an exception, wailers will be on him in an instant!
Seriously, I don't think pple get PMB at all! He has said there is no office of d 1st lady, so, why are Nigerians expecting any official form of acknowledgment on her visit?
Something Aisha confirmed and even went ahead to disclose her visit was privately funded!
ovieigho: so who would have commanded the army against GEJ? Is it his chief of defence staff Alex badeh, or his chief of army staff Kenneth minimah? Or is it an old soldier like buhari that will command army to move against the commander in chief of armed forces? If you think what GEJ did by handing over was normal then ask The UN,AU ,USA ,UK and other world power why they gave him much accolades
They gave him accolades after he handed over! Not before. Gbagbo of Ivory Coast, comes to mind!
Remember during GEJ's acting presidency, when soldiers were deployed, without GEJ's permission, to welcome a sick Yar'Adua back into d country?!
Do u remember IBB saying, 'd current leadership of d army, are boys of our boys?' and 'esprit de corps' will always come into play?
With d number of Abokis' in d Naija army, Jona would av been ousted in d short or long run!
zicoraads: Those three e-diots a few posts from mine won't see anything good in this because the man is not an APC governor.
We need to meet local consumption first. We shouldn't rush to export when local consumption has not been fully met. If the rice is as good as advertised, then I bet most Nigerians would shun the foreign one as it has even become too expensive for comfort.
Why would u want to be those living in delusions? Does Naija have a comparative advantage in rice production? Which country would prefer Naija rice to Indian, Thai, American or other rice products from countries that av been in rice export for ever?
Its so hard not to count all ds as fraud! At least we can see a roomfull of rice bags, unlike d ugu situation! Now imagine exporting rice at how much cost? When u can move it to any other state in Naija and make up to 50% profit without d attendant cost implication of paying for overseas shipment?!
Simple logical reasoning seems to be a mountain! Story of Naija!
martineverest: i saw this 'wire-wire' 419 scammer on an online news site:zdnet.com.i was amazed by a comment by one of thw white commenters. he said: 'nigerian scammers have always been a lot creative.T's a pity that their talents arent directed towards problem solving and honest pursuits'
i just shook my head and almost shed tears.
Necessity begets invention! With a better country, they might have no need to be actively creative. All things work together for good!
CHIJIOKE1314: Op.. Don't divert our attention from the real issue..
Anybody can arrange such pictures to dispute such a weighty allegation stomped on her head...
It won't cost more than 50k to design the logo, place it there and take a shot with some of her chanters to disprove Fayose and decieve the Zombies..
She has had previously traveled to the states and other countries and Institute of peace if am right has branches in some other countries, so she could have taken the pics in Australia or in the Zwiz or even in Rio..
Only outright stupid criminals will do such in our country/world! When Fayose went to give a speech to investors in China, we all saw how quickly that was disproved?! When someborri said he has ugu farms worth millions of dollars, we're still waiting for pics of ugu farms worth $100, though they can't stop bombarding us with pics of packaged rice for sale!
So, as an educated n enlightened individual, how do u expect Aisha n SR to get away with a faked visit to d US?
victorels: This happened because people decided to disrespect police but respect soldiers.
If it is soldiers that was dispersing people, every one that is passing will raise their hands up. No one will dare answer a call to talk of taking pictures.
But police is your friend. That is why they had the guts to take pictures.
Camera enabled phone no dey respect anybody oga! If e like make special forces misbehave, unless no camera near d place! Sotay dem snap Alison for inside Abdulsalam hauz!
nonhuman: my dear nobody is asking u to invest ur little money in ugu and bitter leaf business. Anambara people said they are exporting ugu to Europe they didn't ask for your help is their business . am not from anambra . last time I check the report by obiano he wasn't asking for help
Hear defense? So, pple should be allowed to disseminate fraudulent info into d public space?! Every dick n harry is going to start investing in ugu farms in d hope of turning into a millionaire, well I'm a discerning harry!
Ugu farms abound all over d country, what so hard abt posting pics of an international standard, organic ugu farm?!
Afterall, he proudly showed us his successful rice plantation, combine harvesters and all sorts, nobody doubted him then!
Oksman: Unique indeed! Obasanjo inherited a worse economy plundered by past successive military govt. in what american newsweek magazine once described as tropical gangsters. But obasanjo hate him if you like came out from prison without an inkling of ever being the president, assembled an economic team working with a blueprint called the NEEDS document, paid off our foreigm debt which was mind boggling, consolidated the banks, licensed gsm operators introduced policies to stop leakages called monetisation and left a heathy treasury when handed over. The government of Yardua reversed some of those policies such that there was large scale looting during the period he was sick. GEJ messed up big time too because he compromised a lot, and allowed looting of our economy to go unhindered. PMB, unlike OBJ, came in without any masterplan to tackle the economy even as at this moment; considering the fact that he has been aspiring to lead for many years. The delay in presenting an economic direction, assembling an economic team, making volatile economic statement and decisions, was not only unhealthy, but catastrophic for our economy
Read read!!!
Dressing a tyrant in royal robes?!
Do u see a Saraki calling Obj's bluff? Or av u forgotten Adenuga was hounded into exile? PMB tried doing all that d 1st time around and was labeled a dictator, now he his trying to be a gentleman, some want d past?!
Obj was using ghana-must-go bags to achieve his aim, do u expect PMB to toe that line? Obj had great plans, but they never lived after him, cos d path he took was corrupt. I believe u should av realized, PMB wants his legacies to actually outlive him! He doesn't want his tenure to end and all his good works abandoned!
Can u name any of OBJ's effective team that can be said to be progressive at this time? Ezekwelisi comes to mind, but her impact was never outstanding. Soludo doesn't come across as dynamic.
In d long run, I forsee long term success from this govt!
FreeGlobe: Simple steps taken by Anambra State Government to stimulate vegetable export and improve the lot of rural vegetable farmers (model for other states)
1. Partnered with a cargo logistics company, ABX World, and vegetable offtakers who have access to the large UK market
2. Identified areas where those veggies are produced in large quantities
3. Sensitized the farmers, especially women, and made them form cooperative groups
4. ANSG paid a UK company to train these farmers on best practices, book keeping/veggies business cycle, allergens prevention, and handling of veggies. They also trained the farmers on 100% organic veggie farming.
5. Staff of the National Quarantine Service visited all farms to conduct phytosanitary tests and certified all farms that passed the test
6. Orders placed to the veggie farmers by the offtakers and export commenced. Vegetables are exported via cargo flights with the veggies packaged in cardboard boxes, perforated to allow air.
7. Orders and sales have blossomed, making Anambra State no 1 government that has instituted a DELIBERATE EXPORT POLICY TO DIVERSIFY ECONOMY AND BETTER THE ECONOMIES OF THE RURAL COMMUNITIES
8. An Export Desk was established to coordinate all export activities and drive compliance
9. A digital control center was set up. It captures biodata of all farmers and takes coordinates of all farms for geomapping and traceability of all products.
The main locations are: 1. Anambra West Onono, Umuikwu, Umudora,Agwe oroma,Mmiàta.
2 .Ayamelu LGA,Anaku,Omo,Ifite_Ogwari,Omasi.
3. Idemili North LGA:Abatete, Orukwu, Nimo.
4. Orumba North: Umochu Ndike,Ndiowu
5. Orumba South: Eziagu,Umunze ,Ogbunka,Ogboji.
6. Ogbaru LGA: Obioshimili, Osamala,Igbo Ifeanyi Odoekpe etc.
What d heck are u posting? Did u get my question/s? Do u av a comprehension prob? I read that in ur previous post, just kept my peace, as I wasn't ready to start hopping all over d SE, looking for ugu farms to snap n post on NL!
But, when I saw u posting a video of a millionaire ugu farmer with cassava plants in d background... does that make any sense to u! If I present u that video as evidence of my successful investment in ugu farming and exporting, how much would u be willing to invest??! Me: Nada!
Oksman: There is nothing unique in this administration's handling of our economy my friend, these nations are socialist economies that subsidize most of their services to her citizens unlike nigeria were we are used to capitalist exploitation for ages. The old USSR suffered a similar economic hit caused by over spending in defense budget in a bid to catch up with the west in their race for military superiority. She became so cash-strapped that Gorbachev had to introduced glastnost and perestoika in the early 90s, which eventually led to her disintegration and the fall of the iron curtain. Though GEJ left a not too healthy economy, the present managers did not handle the procedure properly.
How did u expect them to have handled d procedure? As it is, they've done a somersault at several points, using diverse expert positions, yet non seems to reverse d decline. The only thing I see working presently is blocking avenues for leakages n stepping up d tax collection. That in itself is unique in an African setting!
U read educated and enlightened maybe a little bigoted! What so hard about a millionaire ugu farmer using is millions earning ugu farm as a background in his video?
We just need to see d quality and physical attributes of a millions of dollars earning ugu farm! U've been on nl for some time, u've seen pig farms, tomato farms, cucumber farms and a whole lot of others! We've seen a cassava milling plant, rice milling plant and all sorts; what's d crime in requesting to see d ugu farms, d transport vehicles, d assembling plant, d inspectors certifying them, loading d goods unto cargo planes?!
Somebody travelled all d way to Cameroon to import tomatoes, with pics and nobody doubted him! Infact, pple were interested in investing! How do u expect me or my friends to cough out cash to invest in something that brings in millions of dollars but can't provide actual sample pics?! That's fraud, anyway u look at it! U need substance, physical representation of a million dollar international biz! Stop d propaganda and do d needful!
Its all about Angola! Venezuela is in chaos, Angola is going deeper into it, I think Nigerians should be grateful!
These nations are our contemporaries- oil wealth with no diversification... something I think all Nigerians-zombies n wailers inclusive, are agreed upon.
The fact that we have a govt that could change d trajectory of d past govt,- contractors were unpaid, salaries were owned, security votes were looted - should be appreciated and criticized constructively. Our case could av been like our contemporaries, whose economies are actually collapsing with d advent of d fall in oil prices! Salaries are being paid, backlog of debts to contractors are cleared, war on terror is still going stronger and even expanding to include militants, d budget is being increased instead of slashed drastically, as at june, govt still had an increase in revenue and all these from a crude oyel dependent nation being lead by a certificate-less, gworo-chewing, cattle-rearing President Buhari!?! Let us appreciate and pray for d best!
kaybams1: #fortheloveofbooks A time to kill by John Grisham will appeal more to lawyers and those that loves crime best sellers.... @kunmi how I dread shakespeare. I read twelfth night and was like 'what the hell is this man talking about'!. Maybe cos of his usage of ancient English. Took a literature student to explain to me. I see him as the Nigerian Soyinka. plaetton: Madam, this is exactly the problems we athiest have with religion. You have a loving husband whom you have loved and admired all this while and who has also loved you uncoditionally despite your religiousity. Now you are just beginning to feel uncomfortable about his athiesm. Why? Because of what others (religious folks ) are insinuating? Why is so hard to tolerate people who do not share your religious beliefs? Would you have prefered to be married to the so-called born again religous pretenders who outwardly profess regiousity but whose hearts are dark pits, than to a non-petensious reality-oriented man whose heart and mind is transparent to you at all times?
Have you reckoned that the problem might be with you and the increase in your religious zeal? Are you surprised that your pastor does not like him? How do u expect a pastor to like someone whom he cannot manipulate and sap? You are exhibiting the typical symptoms. Soon they will start seeing visions and prophesies about how your husband is evil and is going to do this or that to you and your children. There is nothing in this world that divides people more than religion. Religion can destory your home if you allow it to do so.Your home should be your church. The love of your husband and children should be your sanctuary. I guarantee that You cannot find in a church, what you cannot find in your home-namely love, sincerity, respect and peace.
I am an athiest who is married to a born again wife. I made my position know from the start and we have lived happily. I go to church with her from time to time. But I have grown waery of the "name it and claim it" theology of the pentecostal preachers,so I do not go anymore. I put my foot down on no night vigils, retreats, house fellowships, and midweek service. Otherwise, I try not to interfere. I find that is her church members who always want to make our religious difference an issue. I always put them in their right place. As for my children, I have already succeeded in planting seeds of doubts in thier young minds, which for me ,is sufficient enough to help them develope the healthy skeptism necessary to intelligently discern life and reality, hopefully, from both a philosophycal and scientific perspectives rather than from religious perspective.
I do not see any problems in you family except the one that your religious peers are pressuring you to create. Take note that the increase in your religious zeal is and will be directly proportional to the level of tension, resentment and ultimately, distrust in your household. I hope you make wise decisions.
Well written! I'm not an atheist, but also not a christian, prob a theist. Yet, u wrote it all, respect each others religion. But d kids should be allowed to form their beliefs, don't purposely influence them. Some pple actually need a religion to withstand d onslaught of life, respect them.
Op, enjoy ur marriage. Chill abt his stance, just plead with him to tone it down. Don't alienate him for pple who won't give u joy, they can also end up ostracizing u. U av to realise, he his also accommodating u n ur religion, inspite of his beliefs.

BERNIMOORE: An official of Diamond Bank(Alledgedly in a very Funny and Concorted RIBCRACKING story), One Damola Otuyalo,(no branch of bank attached) has Alledgedlytold officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission that he personally handed over N1.2bn to a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, and his son, Gbolahan.
The entire exercise was said to have been captured on a Closed Circuit Television.
The bank official told investigators that on June 16, 2014, he received a call from the Head of Operations and Technology, Mr. Premier Oiwoh, to arrange N1.2bn and pay six beneficiaries.
He said he was asked to pay the following persons: Saturaki Bello N200m; Yusuf Bulama N120m; Chimenum Njoku N250m; Franklin Tolani N150m; Josiah Moses N280; and Abubakar Sadiq Zanna N200m.
Otuyalo, however, explained that he was unable to pay them the money and that his director then instructed him to move the N1.2bn to the private wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos on June 17.
“We moved the cash to the airport through the Cash-In-Transit vendor, Bankers Warehouse Limited. I contacted the vendor who made the bullion van available for movement. I personally supervised the loading of the money into the bullion van and escorted them to the airport.”
He said a few minutes later, Obanikoro’s son came to the main gate and asked the security to let the bullion van in(not several bullion van in)
Otuyalo told detectives that due to the large amount of money involved, it took them several hours to offload the cash unto the aeroplane.
He explained that it took three aeroplanes to carry all the money. (however no single registration numbers of the plane could be mention! For those who can think objectively, pls Evaluate these funny stories;
https://www.nairaland.com/3260134/gave-n1.2bn-obanikoro-bank-official “The operation took several hours because we got to the airport around 7am and left around 4pm. The cash was bagged in cash bags totalling about 65 and everything was offloaded from the bullion van(Not Vans) after which I reported to my boss, Mr. Oiwoh.”
Detectives told our correspondent that the N1.2bn was flown to Akure Airport and Obanikoro allegedly handed over the money to an associate of Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, Mr. Abiodun Agbele, who had since been detained by the EFCC.
He added that Officials of Zenith Bank arrived at the Akure Airport tarmac in a bullion van to convey all the cash to the bank’s vault located at 13, Alagbaka Estate, Akure. When contacted, Head, Media Relations/Corporate Communications of Diamond Bank, Mr. Mike Omeife, told one of our correspondents that he could not confirm the report
Fayose is just laughing, a Governor that defeated 2 incubents cannot be brought down by propaganda, God Bless Fayose ; The Voice Of The masses where Activists were confused
Since they claim to av video evidence, I'm gonna be objective n assume it wasn't a regular bullion van! Think outside d box, all of u!
So far, so good, ds govt might backtrack or deny, but I'm yet to confirm any propaganda!
shadeyinka: Technological development is never Transferred. It is either home grown(developed), bought, stolen or cloned. Nigeria should begin to task the brains of Nigerians for home grown technological solutions like China.
PMB did not have a choice about devaluing the Naira. He was against it, but he had to succumb when his economic advisers advised that it was the best solution. With hind sight, is it the best solution?
Of course, not devaluing the Naira would have resulted in the same problem. Our economists don't seem to have a solution.
Economics is mostly a theoretical practice. What works in d classrooms generally are ineffective in practice! Socialism, communism, capitalism etc
With d number of policy somersaults by d CBN, even PMB had to confess to trail n error. Hopefully, something will work, something needs to work!
