Remember that faith is required for every healing and if the pastor does not have the faith, how can he heal, especially pastor that would rather fly in jet instead of praying to build his faith, or the one that will rather dine with the high and mighty in Nigeria instead of trusting God for his church members. 1. The way I see it, Nigeria is a showcase for religion at its worst. We have 2 major religions failing woefully. It means either of 2 things...

A) These religions are not being practised appropriately or
B) These religions have no real positive effect on society. It can be be either neutral or negative but not positive.

I believe point 2 is the reason why things are getting worse rather than better. Nothing to do with generational curses. The UK and many European countries were of celtic origin. The Celts had a traditional religion known as Druidism (or Wicca) prior to the Romans conquering most areas and outlawing the religion. Wicca is where the name witchcraft came from. Witchcraft is known as the craft of witches.. or wiccans. To summarise if such nations once followed witchcraft, why are they so blessed now? What did our forefathers do that is so much worse than what their forefathers did? Nothing is the answer. It has nothing to do with our forefathers.

2. My point to obadiah was.... if God intended amputees not to be healed how can pastors heal them? Some pastors claim to have done such things in Nigeria. Either the obadiah is wrong, God has no control over the pastors or the pastors are lying.... or all 3

I've found this to be true.
I don't know if anyone can give reasons why it is so.

Because of the damage religion does by these practitioners.

As long as religion brings forth good things it will have a role in society. If it brings forth the evil we witness on a daily basis then I would prefer to address these issues.

Think of religion today being a placebo pill filled with a poisonous substance. It might solve one or two isues but it creates a whole new set of problems that are much more dangerous.

When it comes to religion there are two standpoints. Theists and Atheists. Theists believe in gods and the supernatural. Atheists dont.

Bear in mind that this is a very broad topic as believing in gods etc is not necessarily equivalent to believing in the GOD of Abraham. Religious worship pre-dates the Abrahamic faiths.

Dont be under any illusions, family plays a major role in marriage. As both of you met in the UK I am assuming you will be living there. This should give you some space if you do go ahead and marry. Maybe with time they might come to appreciate you for who you are once you have been married awhile. They might not however and this could be very complicated. Who do you turn to if things go wrong?

Really think deep about this. Also, unlike k2039 i believe love conquers all. If there is love these issues may still be reolved with time. You have to be wise about this however.
