Business / Re: CBN Bans Use Of Dollars For Overseas Fees, Medical Trips by Atlantian: 8:42am On Feb 13, 2016
lookandlaff:

That's not the argument people should be making, removing foreign medical trips and education from official forex is a good idea like many good ideas govt comes up with that fail due to poor implementation. The argument people should be making is....are those for whom official forex is reserved actually getting the forex at the official rate? because (just like the subsidy regime) if it's the bankers that use the arbitrage to profit then we might as well scrap the whole thing. If i go to my bank to get forex for official approved purchases and CBN approves it but my bank officials collect a cut making my effective rate 280 to the dollar then govt isn't subsidizing me only making bank officials richer.

BTW: of must be noted that a lot of laudible govt ideas fail people we the people are the ones who implement those policies and we the people are crooked.

I am towing my line of argument because I understand that the decision to ban foreign education and medicals from banks is to control the value of the naira. It is the worst approach cos no one who has a dependent in any school in abroad now will withdraw the student, you will do all it takes to buy forex at BDC and the demand will soar. People who have health conditions will die because most hospitals in Nigeria are just not working, so its a matter of life and death to source for fx in BDC. This huge demand will increase the demand for dollars and more naira will be chasing the few dollars. Watch the value of the naira plummet in the next few days. Already the announcement has affected the value of the dollar to 335 within 24hrs.

Join the mgtow forum and go to club tonight and get yourself some sex. Repeat the same thing tomorrow then start thinking straight. 30k to 50k is not enough to run a home if you are in any city including Lagos. The reality is that women are created to think the same way. The next woman you meet will be demanding LV bags and iPhone6 and will your salary work with such demands ? Steer off women totally and Bleep runz girls when need be and focus on money making. I am telling you this as some one who earns millions per month from business and i can tell you that women are on a different league of their own. They dont think like men, except at their tender age, once they reach like 27 years old and upwards, they become dragons. Like I said, and I recommend to other married or bachelors, if we treat women they way they treat us, then it will be a zero-sum game.

You are getting it wrong. They did not ban u from getting treatment abroad. They didnt ban you from using your cards or sourcing for your dollar outside but no more form m or a for dollars at official rates for medical or school fees.
And I can assure you that the decision to channel request of funds for medicals and study abroad is pushing the demands for the dollars to the blackmarket, and remember, the higher the demand, the higher the price. Watch the Naira collapse in just few weeks. Cos the class of people that sponsor folks to study abroad and get medicals abroad, are not the class who cares about money, but how to spend. I am one of them, and I dont care, but remember to watch the value of the local tender. I give you my word, the value of naira will plummet like a falling kite.

You are the illiterate. Govt removed FX demand for medical and school fees because we earn very little forex. The other option is to outrightly devalue the Naira to 280
Arrant nonsense. Government has no rights to tell people how to spend their own money and where to treat oneself. The silly president should enact laws that stop only himself and his fellow politicians from seeking overseas treatment. Some of you are so poor that you think everyone is also poor. We read everyday how people go to Nigeria hospitals and without deposits doctors leave them to die. Whoever will work so hard to earn his money without seeking medical treatment anywhere in the world that he can afford.

My complain is not about my expense, my complain is that the dullard hasnt got sense to understand that as long as the demand for dollars goes up at the black market, which I consider the real market, then dollars will continue to be scarce and more naira will continue to chase the dollars. Watch out the next couple of weeks that the value of naira will plummet. I Predict 400 naira to a dollar in the next 3 weeks.

The President isnt sensible, he cant even review a budget. This is not cattle-rearing.

If your head correct before, are you the one who is supposed to send money to someone in a richer country abi na him go send you money? Nigerians have carried on as if they're the richest country on earth while remaining actually one of the poorest. The US has for years been working on alternatives to importation of oil and we just carry on the jamboree like the apes we are. Their research has yielded fruits now and the rest is history. No black society should be self-governing; interestingly, this assertion was made by people we like to call racists 100+ years ago. They knew then what we still deny today, though being proved correct by PRACTICAL REALITY. All black men should bury their head in shame. We as a people are indeed subhuman until we can prove otherwise

That you are poor, does not mean some of us are like you and your family. I could afford to own a house abroad and give my family a better life, and that is what I did. So, please Mr. Poverty, steer clear my radar. I am not poor and I am not sympathetic to you for your condition. You see, I did not complain about my finances, I complained that if we continue to patronize black market operators, the demand for dollars will keep rising and that is something Buhari is not mentally sound enough to comprehend.

Be guided.

Please ask Buhari, when you push us to buy dollars at the black market to pay fees abroad and give our folks for upkeep, you are increasing the demand of dollars in the black market. Will that not further increase the demand of dollars and still push the value of the dollars up against the naira ?

so I have to exchange 450 naira per pound to send to my folks in London. I dont really know what I am doing in this country. What is Buhari thinking ? The value of Naira is tied to oil and electricity supply. He cant control the oil but he can control electricity. With electricity, manufacturing sector will be revived and reliance on foreign goods will reduce and importers will have no need to buy dollars.

Illiteracy is a bad thing and I hate all those who voted for this slowpoke. I can confidently state that a dollar will exchange for 1000 naira before 2019.

Mid-life crisis. Certain humans think the world pays attention to them, when in essence they are fooling around in their illusion.

I think whatever happened to Julius Agwu has certainly affected certain parts of his brain cells, it is a matter of time before his relatives have him visit a shrink or may be get into a rehab.

This is not normal.

Me too. The entire concept of hell in religion is a farce. I heard I have to die to go to either heaven or hell. And I ask, since I am told I will be a ghost or spirit when I die. Can fire really burn spirit or ghost ? I know one life, and it is the one I am living now, and I intend to live it to the full, whatever comes afterwards, need not concern me.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Nigeria And Her First And Second Class Job Syndrome by Atlantian: 10:54am On Feb 12, 2016
There is a huge probability that you would have gotten a great job in Nigeria if you actually equipped yourself with the several IT certifications including the US 6 month IT course certification as well as experience you garnered if you applied. I am also 100% sure that you would NOT have gotten that job if you applied with only your 3rd Class Nigerian Degree.

So, when you come here to castigate the system, understand that the job you got there, had nothing to do with your 3rd class, and for sure, that cant give you a job in US.

Best bet for people who graduated with not-so-good level is to be employers, and I have seen so many drop outs and 3rd class/pass graduates becoming super rich, because they knew their degree is not worth presenting, the only thing they have left to wager life is their will power and hard and smartwork.

Do not misrepresent facts based on your feelings.

Something as simple as Budget we can not compose. Our soldiers and Policemen are even too afraid of moving objects that they shoot to kill unharmed civilians then celebrate as if they killed enemy soldiers. Why do we find trouble with North Korea, a very advanced country. I have watched insider documentaries on true nature of North Korean and I can say, no country in the world can match them technologically and in terms of welfare in the face of sanctions. Even USA is afraid of North Korean even in sanction, out much more if sanction is lifted from that country.

We should be careful, we are dealing with a country with millions of citizens that are standing army and are ready to die to protect their identity.

I wish I know how to chase APC out of Aso Rock

It doesnt necessarily have to be water any fluid without alcohol and lipid content is actually great. How many people like the taste of just water. A little lemon or lime in the water is okay, but you can always put your juicer to good use or a make a smoothie with your blender. Water is great for digestion dont get me wrong but in the event that you cant stand just ordinary water, then load it up with the nutrients from naturally sources.

After 5 months of meticulous planning, he ended up nominating saints into his cabinet, saints that prepared and presented holy bibles of budgets, final budget he presented to National Assembly. Today, the budget was a construct of fraud, for fraud and by the fraudulent. I am sure we should blame GEJ for the bad calculators and Computers in Aso Rock State House, which is by the way, a rented house.

One could relate to the reason he chose to nominate mostly Hausa/Fulanis in his government. It might really not be nepotism, it could be an affirmation that he doesnt understand much 'big grammar"; he might truly be gunning for people he can interact with, in his dialect.

After 5 months of waiting to get saints into Cabinet, he presented a corruption ladened Budget and started prosecuting Saraki so he can be intimidated to pass the come-and-chop budget of corruption. We should be grateful that Saraki emerged Senate President against their wish, because the Senator they "arranged" to be Senate President would have covered these up.

Buhari is not qualified to be a councillor, it is my verdict that Buhari should be impeached or forced to resign before we become laughing stock of the world. Imagine what will happen if CNN gets a hold of this news. I will deny my citizenship of Nigeria that day. It is way too shameful that someone who did not graduate properly from Secondary School before joining the army is a President. Leadership in 21st century is not a function of common-sense. it requires specialized knowledge which Buhari is incapable of understanding.

Tukiakwa, APC. You wanted Power, you got it. Now see the shame in your stupidities.
