zoedew:Who cares what happens as long the boycott is succesful? |
kjhova:You are ignorant. The Nigeria you see today is under the control of the Nothern oligarchy. One reminder of this is that Southern Nigeria is today begging the North for restructuring and the North has slammed the door on that. Nigeria has been skewed and rigged in favour of the North, you can google Mrs Ankkio Briggs recent press release to find out how. There is no such thing as integration in Nigeria, some people just tolerate each other thats all. I will always be an 'nyamiri infidel' to a Hausa man same as I will be an 'omo ajaokuta' to a Yoruba man. If ever take too much, they will remind me that I am a visitor that has overstayed his welcome. So where is the 'one Nigeria' we are talking about? As for a million lives being lost, that is the price of freedom. 50 million lives were lost in the 2nd world war to bring about the peace and properity people enjoy in Europe today. |
PHILipu1:Wake up from slumber. Britain that created Nigeria is the 5th richest country in the world and works well as a nation. But that did not stop Scotland seeking independence and getting a referendum in 2014. So wether Nigeria wirks or doesnt work is irrelevant The moral of the story is that when a people decide they want to be free, you can either let them go or hold them against their will and expect trouble. The choice will be up to Nigeria. |
Limitednow:The man is a dreamer, he thinks he has a foot in Aso Rock for being a founding member of APC. He doesnt know he is nothing but another 'Nyamiri' infidel to the Northerners |
PHILipu1:The struggle for freedom has no time limit. If takes 1 year or a hundred years, its on. |
fasterwell:First delete your facebook account since it is an American website. |
PHILipu1:Dont make the mistake of thinking that the international community all reason like Nigerians. They dont. While the sovereignty of all countries is respected, the right of the people to self determination is also respected. A 70% boycott of elections is a clear indication that the people have no faith in the system. Nobody is saying that election boycott is enough to get referendum, but it will go a long way. When IPOB then adds other legal means at its disposal such peaceful demonstration, mass mobilisation and sensitisation, civil disobedience, protestations etc. A time will come when all Nigerians including the political leaders will agree that it is time to let these people go. We all saw how just the sit-at-home protest made the Northern youths support referendum, much more is yet to come. You think anyone is waiting for the international community? No. If it takes 20 years of protest for Nigeria to finally see that it is foolish to hold people against their will then so be it, we will all be feeling the heat together. But eventually, a referendum will be granted so we can leave this disasterous British colonial contraption called Nigeria |
Was it not you Nigerians that came to the East to fight for 3 years to bring Igbos back into Nigeria? |
blueseacats:I somewhat disagree with you in the weapons area. It is not while drowning that you suddenly decide to go for swimming lessons, you just swim and hope for the best. It is true that Biafra and Ojukwu did not have enough arms and ammunition in comparison to Nigeria, however, that was not enough reason to become a slave of the Hausa/Fulani oligarchy like all others did. It was a swim or sink situation and Biafrans were not prepared to sink without a fight, even if it meant fighting with catapult. Fidel Castro started his own revolution with just 80 men and a few guns, he later overthrew the system |
One of the great heros who fought for the freedom of us Biafrans from the oppressive British colonial contraption called Nigeria Adieu Colonel Oji, Biafrans hail you! |
kaluxy007:Do you see anyone resting in Nigeria? Everybody is restless |
Blue3k:How to open your brain to make you understand? The boycott has nothing to do with who is elected. If Obianos village is enough to re-elect him then good. What IPOB is aiming for is a situation where more than 70%, maybe even as much 90% of registered voters in Anambra boycott the Anambra elections. If IPOB can get those numbers to sit at home just like they did on May 30th, then IPOB would have become the undisputed political power in Anambra. It would be a clear statement that the people have rejected the politics of Nigeria and Nigeria its self and the spill over effect into 2019 is other states joining the queue and there may be no voting in the SE/SS and many other places come 2019. You are still stuck at looking at electoral law to even see the bigger picture of what the boycott is all about |
Blue3k:I dont think people like you understand. The boycott is not about influencing who wins the election. IPOB does not care about who becomes Governor. What IPOB cares about is getting the people to withdraw from the politics of Nigeria. If IPOB can get 70% or more of the registerd voters not not to participate in the elections: The boycott would have been a sucess IPOB would have proved to the world that it has the support of the majority of the people The election boycott would prove that the people have lost faith in Nigeria as whole. The boycott is about proving that the people dont want to belong to Nigeria any more by not taking part in elections |
Baddestman:All of America is colonised territory same as Nigeria |
Baddestman:Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Alaska are no where near America, but all three are American states Gibralter is not in Britain but it is British |
vizkiz:But who will be doing the killing? Your federal government? Is that their job? To massacre people? |
This case was a waste of time right from the onset |
kettykin:That Demon called Yakubu Gowon used starvation as a weapon of war to kill many kids in the name of keeping Nigeria one |
As for flouting bail conditions, thats for the court to decide at the next sitting. So far, Kanu has not broken any laws. |

Why arw you posting this fake news that no one has been able to verify till today? Two police men were killed but their nanes have never been mentioned? We need pictures, names and videos not mere words |
adamsh:He is pushing nobody into war. It is only in the mind of a Nigerian is a call for referendum a call for war |
freshest4live:There is something they can do about it. Without Northern votes, Restructuring will never be passed into law. |
If Kanu said this (I dont like to believe anything these days without video evidence) then he is actually right. Scottish people did not hace to leave the rest of Britain for agitating for independence. British people did not have to leave EU countries because of BREXIT Catalonians did not have to leave Spain for asking for a referendum So why is it in Nigeria we keep hearing these useless ultimatums that Igbos should go home? The massacre of Igbos in the North happend in 1945, 1953, 1966 and periodically since then till now. How many Norrherners have ever been killed in Igbo land? None. Naturally, any Igbo who decides to reside in the North does so at their peril. I always say that it is better to be broke but safe in your land than to be rich but dead in another mans land. As for the Anambra elections we have about 4 months to go. We shall see if my fellow Anambrarians heed the call to boycott the elections or if they go out to vote. As for me, I support boycott. |
When you have the suppport of the people, you dont need rented crowds, sireens, money or political position before the people will come out to show you love. Ride on Kanu, you are fighting for something money cannot buy, freedom. |
This Shettima guy is an idiot |
lofty900:Why would the police storm a place and start to shoot unarmed people? Is the Police Boko Haram? |
shervydman:The sooner people face reality like Ojukwu did, the better. You cannot be asking for restructuring/resource control while still a slave of the North. Only free people control their resources, not slaves. Restructuring can only be effected at the national assembly. Restructuring is not something the President or IG of Police or any minister can implement because it requires changing the constitution before restructuring can come. Before the constitution can be changed, one must get a two third majority or 67% of the entire votes. Just the core controlls almost 40% of the votes. So where will you get the remaining 7%? And that is assuming that the SW/SE/SS and NC all vote for restructuring. As I said before, those who talk about restructuring Nigeria are dreamers Its like talking about going to the moon when you dont have a space shuttle. So if you want restructuring, first get your freedom then you can restructure anything you want even the shoe you wear. Or remain part of Nigeria and keep talking about restructuring for the next 1000 years while watching the North block any progress on restructuring Nigeria |
This talk of restructuring is all a waste time. The North will never let it happen. Whenever the issue of restructuring gets to the national assembly, the North will be waiting to use their huge numbers to vote it out. Only a dreamer is still talking about restructuring in Nigeria. The reality on the ground is the same as what Ojukwu faced 50 years ago. "Accept Nigeria the way the North wants it or strive for your independence" |
mrvitalis:How Scotland asked for referendum is not as important as the fact that their right to self determination was respected. Unlike Nigeria where some people think that asking for referendum is an act of treason and locking people up. As for the 5 Eastern states, I dont care if it is 3 Naira they contribute. When they get Biafra, let the Anambra man control his Gas in Igbariam, his Oil in Ogbaru and his automotive industry in Nnewi. Let Enugu control its coal, let Ebonyi control its limestone, cement and solid minerals, let Abia control is Oil in Ukwa, let Imo control its Gas in Egbema. Whatever anyone has, even if it is sand, let them develop and control it and use the proceeds to run their Government and develop their land. Let Anambra expand Onitsha Seaport, Let Abia and Imo develop the proposed Obuaku and Oguta seaports that will allow us trade with the world. At least, the people will have their destiny and freedom in their hands. Most importantly, our sovereignty that was stolen in 1914 to create the British colonial disaster called Nigeria will be finally returned to the people. |
mrvitalis:Dont talk like a fool. Whatever you think that Igbos are are gaining by being part of Nigeria, it will never be as great as what Scotland is gaining by being part of Britain, the 5th richest country in the world. Scotland has its own parliament, its own judiciary, its own police force, resource control, fiscal independence. There is no marginalisation of the Scottish people, infact, a Scottish man called Gordon Brown was British primeminister some years ago. Despite all that Scotland is gaining by being part of a super-power nation like Britain, despite being well treated, despite being part of Britain for over 300 years, despite all the powers and freedoms Scotland enjoys, that same Scotland agitated for independence and was granted a referendum in 2014. What this should tell you is that no matter how bad or good Igbos have it in Nigeria, it ever remains the inalienable right of the Igbo nation to decide if they want to be part of Nigeria or not. |
ocelot2006:Portharcourt is an English word that is not indigenous to anywhere. What is being talked about here is Igweocha |
mrvitalis:You dont have to support Biafra, not all Igbos support Biafra. However, if there is a referendum, you will have to go with what the majority wants. That is democracy. |

Okorocha go and sleep, the north can never endorse you.
